Jean is a personal branding and women's contemporary portrait photographer at Kercheval Photography. She has been in her current business for the last seven years but has been taking portraits of people for over 25 years. Before that, she worked in mental health care, which she believes brings a sense of connection and sensitivity to her work. The goal of her portraiture is to put people at ease, draw out their authenticity, produce beautiful work, and have fun! People tend to come to their photoshoot nervous and leave with high confidence, saying “hey, that was so much fun!”. She has been published in various magazines for her creative shoots and received multiple awards for her portraiture through an international photo group called the Portrait Masters Association. In 2020, she also published a personal passion project called the Quarter Life Crisis Project, a digital magazine with photos and interviews of 21 young people discussing a time in their life of challenge, change and angst. She doesn't know yet what her next passion project might be, but is always looking for inspiration wherever she goes and with the people she meets. Born in Southern California and made in New York City, Susana is the oldest child of two South American immigrants who dared to want more. The seeds of resiliency and self-determination where planted in her from an early age. These characteristics helped her navigate a world and society that never welcomed her as a LatinX woman. After having her son in 2016, she realized that again, she was an outsider looking in. The world of motherhood seemed to only reflect Anglo-suburban moms who always looked happy, fit, and beautifully poised at all times. Feeling the void for inclusive motherhood narratives, she decided to launch The Mamish Community in 2017–a platform dedicated to contemporary multicultural mamís. Having grown up with parents who continually encouraged her to see and taste the world, she finds fullness and creativity in the places, plates, and people in front of her. As she has gained an appreciation for the cultural and communal value both food and gathering together hold, she often finds herself at the intersection of feasting and festivities in the most expressive and creative ways. When she's not planning her next trip or snapping delicious food, she is usually somewhere hiking in the mountains, at the farmer's market, hammocking, rollerblading, reading, hosting gatherings, spending time with friends and family, or doing something that combines all of the above. Zoe: “:As part of my new authentic life and commitment to living in alignment with who I am, I became a life coach. Inspiration struck. Dyan and I embarked on creating a group coaching experience specifically to turn breast cancer survivors into BC Thrivers! I also facilitate Mindful Improvisation workshops to support people in accessing their creativity.” …Dyan: "In 2015, I found out I was positive for the BRCA-2 mutation. I was immediately placed under surveillance for breast cancer. Lonely and confused, I felt like I was a ‘mutant' under ‘surveillance'. About six months after learning I was positive, I was biopsied and found to have breast cancer cells, stage 0. In October 2017, I had a bilateral mastectomy. I've been transformed by the coach approach and am now facilitating BC Thrivers. This is the group I was looking for and I hope it will be for you too!" ------------ Female-identifying (or non-binary) and want to be a guest? Book here! Henry says: I'm a healer, writer, teacher, and second-generation mystic. My work is guided by my direct experience with the great mystery. I have certifications and training as a life coach, spiritual director, Tarotist, peer counselor, Reiki Master, and hedge witch. I specialize in two areas: Helping clients discover their life purpose and develop concrete steps to manifest it. Helping clients develop or deepen their loving relationship with the divine as works best for them. As a teacher, I develop and teach classes in the areas of shadow work, Wise Listening, and Tarot. My work is inspired by the two Karls -- Rogers and Jung, belle hooks, Brené Brown, Joseph Campbell, Thich Nhat Hanh, Rumi, Charles Eisenstein, Mother Julian of Norwich, and others. I consider myself a cross between panentheist and panpsychist. You can find my two books on Amazon: The World is Better Than You Think and Crafting a Happy Life. My essays are on Medium.com. Fun fact: I'm a musician and singer/songwriter and once was a major label recording artist.
