This week's Open Mic guest is Deanna Kovar, President, Agriculture and Turf Division of John Deere. On the sidelines of this year's Commodity Classic, Kovar shared the company's efforts to assist farmers with precision agriculture solutions for their sustainability and productivity goals. She says the company supports regenerative agriculture and renewable fuels, utilizing both ethanol and biodiesel in their engines. Like farmers, Kovar says John Deere hopes for a new farm bill, successful trade agreements, regulatory relief and tariff deals. Sales are expected to be challenged this year, but Kovar sees signs of stability moving forward.

A powerful homily at our annual Epiphany Mass welcomed our students back to school for the start of the second semester.

In een speciale aflevering van de ED-podcast Heet van de Herdgang praat PSV-volger Rik Elfrink in Spanje eenmalig met collega’s Tim Reedijk (VI) en Noël van de Laar (psv.supporters.nl) over de stand van zaken bij PSV en vooral de selectie van PSV. Reedijk en Van de Laar zijn te gast en laten net als Elfrink hun licht schijnen over de formatie van Peter Bosz. Moet er deze winter nog iets veranderen of staat PSV er goed genoeg voor? Van de Laar was in de zomer al heel enthousiast over keeper Matej Kovar, die in de ogen van Elfrink en Reedijk zeker heeft overtuigd in de afgelopen periode. Wel maakte hij nog een aantal fouten aan de bal. Dat hij beter kan worden dan Heurelho Gomes? Die stelling van Van de Laar onderschrijven de andere twee deelnemers aan de podcast nog niet. Een risico voor PSV is de komende weken wel dat Kovar mogelijk geblesseerd raakt, zo constateert het drietal gezamenlijk. Door een blessure van Nick Olij staat dan ineens de onervaren Niek Schiks op doel bij PSV. Wel zal Schiks door zijn vele wedstrijden bij Jong PSV en meerdere jaren lidmaatschap van de A-selectie niet direct staan te bibberen, verwachten de mannen. In alle andere linies zijn er op dit moment behoorlijk wat spelers voorradig bij PSV, waarbij ook nog een aantal jonge talenten in aantocht is. Reedijk is erg te spreken over de verrichtingen van Noah Fernandez, van wie hij zeker verwachtingen voor de toekomst heeft. Daarnaast laat zijn leeftijdsgenoot Amir Bouhamdi mooie dingen zien bij PSV. Elfrink is samen met het duo deze week aanwezig bij het trainingskamp van PSV in het Spaanse Estepona.
