Deeper Church is a vision series at Cross-Way Church. As usual, we will focus on our vision after our evangelism outreach trip in January, to re-focus on our vision and mission. Why we are a church in the city, a resource church that is focused on planting and nurturing churches throughout the 77 districts of Nepal? We have a particular understanding of a church, “mental model” of a church, that is, we believe Jesus' vision for a church in context. It is perhaps different than many other churches in Nepal. The Church is the body of Christ, it is in the world to know who Christ is, make him known, and to do as he did. John Mark Comer calls it “to be with Jesus, to become like Jesus, and to do as Jesus did.” (Practicing the Way,2024). Why the topic “deeper church”. Because, often churches in our society have been shallow- our understanding, our vision of/for a church is what's above the surface “good enough to show for” a leader focused, a program focused, a society oriented in the name of the gospel, discipleship, mission, etc. Bigger we are, and the wider our influence, the happier we are. But, we have to ask, what does God want, What would Jesus want in/from a church? In this series, we will focus on what makes a healthy church, a “deeper church”? Deeper church is a church that can weather any/everything changing weather/climate can bring against it. It's durable, sustained through all seasons of life-church. What consists of a deeper church? We'll focus on the four elements: 1. Strength of its Roots. 2. Health in Growth, 3. Fruit it Bears, 4. Ability to Propagate (seed), etc.

Want to fill your home with plants but can't afford to just now? You needn't be green with envy; just enlist a friend with houseplants and ask them to propagate some for you.
Philodendron, rubber plants and spiderwort have been popular houseplants for decades. Now, growers are introducing new varieties and colors to liven your environs. Propagate some to grow outdoors in containers this summer, too.

From: https://sacred-texts.com/bib/jub/index.htm The Book of Jubilees, probably written in the 2nd century B.C.E., is an account of the Biblical history of the world from creation to Moses. It is divided into periods ('Jubilees') of 49 years. For the most part the narrative follows the familiar account in Genesis, but with some additional details such as the names of Adam and Eve's daughters, and an active role for a demonic entity called 'Mastema'. The anonymous author had a preoccupation with calendar reform, and uses Jubilees as a platform for proposing a solar calendar of 364 days and 12 months; this would have been a radical departure from the Jewish Calendar, which is lunar-based. There are also a couple of messianic, apocalyptic passages, although quite a bit less than the Book of Enoch. The only complete version of Jubilees is in Ethiopian, although large fragments in Greek, Latin and Syriac are also known. It is believed that it was originally written in Hebrew. If at times one gets the impression that you are reading a first draft of Genesis, you are in good company. R.H. Charles, the translator, a distinguished academic Biblical scholar, concluded that Jubilees was a version of the Pentateuch, written in Hebrew, parts of which later becam7e incorporated into the earliest Greek version of the Jewish Bible, the Septuagint. From Ed Mabrie of Faith By Reason YouTube Channel The Epistles of Jesus! We all know that the Apostles Paul, Peter, John, and others wrote epistles to churches and people in the New Testament, but most Christians fail to take note of the fact that there are seven New Testament epistles authored by Jesus Himself! These short but profound messages are known as The Seven Letters to Seven Churches in Revelation chapters 2 and 3. These letters are actually the most relevant part of the Book of Revelation to Christians! Each one of these densely layered passages not only address the first-century churches to whom they were sent, but ALL churches and individual Christians throughout the ages – even to this very day! Every congregation and person who professes Christ deals with one or more of the same challenges, problems, opportunities, successes, and failures outlines in the epistles of Jesus. Most provocatively, I believe that these seven letters, in the order in which they were written, prophetically outline ALL of Church history in advance! In this week's episode, I give an introduction to these fascinating and profound letters. ~~~ About Ed About Faith By Reason What's the Point? From Ed Mabrie of Faith By Reason YouTube Channel Revelation Chapter 1 sets the stage for the entire book. It lets you know who is the subject (Jesus), who the intended audience is (the Churches), and what the message will be (the end times). Revelation chapter 1 also gives the outline of the Book. John is to write the things he has seen (the visions of Revelation chapter 1), the things which ARE (the 7 letters to 7 Churches), and the this which shall be “metatauta” or “after these things” (the future) So the outline is: The things you have seen (Chapter 1) The things which ARE (Chapters 2 -3) The things which will happen in the future (Chapters 4 – 22) In this weeks episode, we will do a deep dive in Revelation Chapter 1, including interpretation of these first set of vision about Jesus and the Lampstands (Hint: the description of Jesus in this vision has NOTHING to do with his physical appearance (or His “race” when He was on earth!) From Ed Mabrie of Faith By Reason YouTube Channel What do you think about the Millennium? When does it happen? Where is Jesus during this time? Your FULL answer to those questions will greatly affect your view of the Book of Revelation! Biblically speaking, the Millennium is a period of time (often seen as being 1000 years long), where the promised Kingdom of God is on earth. Some people believe that Jesus will return to earth BEFORE the Millennium and establish the Kingdom Himself. Others believe that the Church is the earthly Kingdom, and Jesus will return AFTER the Church has full dominion on earth. Still others believe that there will be no ACTUALLY Millennium, but that the concept is a Biblical allegory for Jesus ruling in our hearts. In this week's episode, we'll conclude our introduction to the Book of Revelation by looking at these three Millennial views. And I'll end the episode by letting you know how I plan to teach this book, so you can decide if you want to go on this journey with me! ~~~ About Ed About Faith By Reason What's the Point? From Ed Mabrie of Faith By Reason YouTube Channel Man's attempts to interpret the Book of Revelation generally fall into 3 broad categories: Allegorical: The events of Revelation are not to be taken literally. They are Allegories. Historist/Preterist: Most of the events depicted in Revelation, (Chapters 1 - 20) have already happened. Futurist: Most of the events of Revelation (Chapters 4 – 22) have not yet occurred. They will happen at some point in the future. From Ed Mabrie of Faith By Reason YouTube Channel The Book of Revelation is possibly the most amazing book in the Bible. It is NOT the book of “revelations”. It is NOT the “Revelation of St John”. It is the Revelation (singular) of Jesus Christ, which God GAVE to Him! It is God revealing Jesus…to Jesus! It is our opportunity to “eavesdrop” on a conversation between the eternal Father and Son! But how (and why) does God the Father reveal Jesus to Himself? What does that mean? Understanding the Divine Perspective of Revelation is THE key to understanding this incredibly complex and profound book. We begin our verse by verse study of the Book of Revelation by exploring this Supernatural perspective on this first episode of Revelation Unveiled on Faith By Reason. From Ed Mabrie of Faith By Reason YouTube Faith By Reason Website Faith By Reason on X Aug 16, 2024 There is a lot of eschatological "noise" on social media and alternative news about the so-called "Little Season" of Satan, and whether or not we are currently in it. The Little Season theory essentially states that we are in a Post-Millennial period between the 1000-year Kingdon of Jesus and the Great White Throne of Judgement. Revelation chapter 20 states that after the Armageddon scenario, Satan is imprisoned for the 1000-year Millenial reign of Jesus. After which, he is released for a "little season" to gather the nations to overthrow Jesus in Jerusalem. According to this theory, we are in that season right now! This means that the rapture, the Tribulation, Armageddon, the Second Coming of Jesus, and the 1000-year Kingdom have ALREADY HAPPENED!! The proof point promoted by people who espouse this theory is the advanced "Tartarian" architecture that we see remnants of around the world. This apparently speaks to an advanced civilization with extraordinary technological know-how that vanished no more than a few hundred years ago. According to them, this abandoned technology proves that Jesus ruled over an advanced society in the recent past (and then He apparently just abandoned it...and us). But does the Little Season and Tartaria fit Biblically, historically, and logically? The answer is a resounding NO! A mere cursory examination of this theory shows that it is utterly ludicrous! So why is it being promoted so vigorously? I was puzzled by this until I noticed that the promoters of this theory, tended to also hold to another long-held and equally poor eschatological theology. And the Little Season is their latest attempt to justify their bankrupt beliefs. This is a book of victory: We are overcomers! We are the ultimate winners in the game of life! (I read the ending: we win!) Premiered Oct 25, 2022 From: Koinonia House Featuring: Chick Missler Visit KHouse.tv for the complete series. ~~~ The Book of Revelation is the only book of the Bible with a Promise to the reader! Why? What makes this book so special? Revelation is a "lens" that puts the entire Bible into focus. The lens is focused on the person of Jesus Christ, and his destiny is imminent. This is a book of victory: We are overcomers! We are the ultimate winners in the game of life! (I read the ending: we win!) One of the reasons this book strikes us as strange is because of our lack of understanding concerning the Old Testament. The Book of Revelation consists of 404 verses that contain over 800 allusions to the Old Testament. These are detailed, along with Chuck's analysis of the design and structure of this fascinating book. Learn about the past, present and future of the Church and our ultimate destiny. This is an ideal "first study" and foundational for every Christian. Please SUBSCRIBE to our YouTube channel. Premiered May 10, 2022 From: Koinonia House Featuring: Chick Missler Visit KHouse.tv for the complete series.
