Joshua explains the two major interpretations of the “sons of God” passage: the Sethite view and the supernatural view, where the Bene Elohim are understood as angelic or spiritual beings. He also connects the Genesis 6 account to giants in the land, the Anakim, Rephaim, Goliath, King Og, the Book of Enoch, Jubilees, Second Temple Jewish tradition, and New Testament references in Peter and Jude. The conversation challenges modern Western discomfort with the supernatural and urges believers to take seriously the biblical worldview of spiritual realities interacting with the physical world. In This Episode:TS and Joshua discuss:Why the Nephilim are an important Old Testament theme. The Sethite view versus the supernatural view of Genesis 6.The meaning of “sons of God” / Bene Elohim.Giants in the Bible, including the Anakim, Rephaim, Goliath, and King Og.The relationship between Genesis 6 and the flood narrative. Why Second Temple Judaism and the early church leaned toward the supernatural interpretation. How 1 Enoch, Jubilees, and the Book of the Watchers provide background to Genesis 6.Why Peter and Jude appear to allude to the Genesis 6/Enochic tradition. How “as in the days of Noah” may connect to end-times discussion. Why Christians should not remove the supernatural from Scripture.Key Quote / Episode Theme:“The Bible is full of supernatural things. We need to get comfortable with that and stop trying to downplay, minimize, or take safety scissors to the pages of Scripture.”Scripture and Biblical Themes Mentioned:Genesis 6; the days of Noah; the flood; sons of God; daughters of men; Nephilim; Anakim; Rephaim; Goliath; King Og; Peter and Jude's references to angels who left their proper abode; Sodom and Gomorrah; Elijah and Enoch being taken up; prophecy and the supernatural nature of Scripture.Suggested Timestamps:00:00 — Welcome to Kingdom Crossroads00:45 — Introducing Joshua Spatha and his background in Old Testament studies01:10 — Setting up the topic: the days of Noah and the Nephilim02:40 — Genesis 6 and the “sons of God”03:22 — The Sethite view explained04:30 — The supernatural view: Bene Elohim as angelic/spiritual beings05:26 — Giants in the land and the biblical problem of the Nephilim06:30 — Goliath, King Og, and giant clans in the Old Testament08:30 — Why the supernatural view has strong textual support10:16 — Enoch, Jubilees, the Book of Giants, and the Watchers11:20 — The flood, corruption, and the judgment of the giants12:40 — Why giants appear again after the flood13:39 — “As in the days of Noah” and end-times implications15:32 — Second Temple Judaism, the early church, and Augustine's influence17:00 — Reading Enoch and Jubilees with discernment18:26 — Why the Nephilim were viewed as the “boogeyman” of the ancient world19:20 — Ancient Near Eastern parallels and Michael Heiser's work20:49 — Pagan myths, Titans, demigods, and biblical interpretation21:40 — Peter, Jude, Sodom and Gomorrah, and spiritual beings taking flesh23:13 — The virgin birth and spiritual reality producing physical results24:33 — TS Wright on prophecy and the supernatural nature of Scripture26:21 — Closing resources and final encouragementJoshua Spatha Resources Mentioned:Joshua Spatha's website: mperspective.orgJoshua Spatha's book: Mere SpiritualitySEO Keywords / Tags:Nephilim, Genesis 6, Joshua Spatha, TS Wright, Kingdom Crossroads, sons of God, Bene Elohim, Book of Enoch, Book of Jubilees, Book of the Watchers, giants in the Bible, Goliath, King Og, Anakim, Rephaim, days of Noah, supernatural worldview, biblical prophecy, Second Temple Judaism, Michael Heiser, Old Testament studies, Christian podcast, biblical giants, fallen angels, watchersCaptivate Episode Notes Copy:Joshua Spatha joins TS Wright on Kingdom Crossroads for a deep discussion on the Nephilim, Genesis 6, and the supernatural worldview of Scripture. In this fascinating conversation, Pastor Fred Price Jr. joins Elijah Murrell to discuss some of the Bible's most intriguing and controversial topics. What happened in Genesis 6? Who were the Nephilim? Could UFOs and modern disclosure efforts have a biblical explanation? What does Scripture actually teach about angels, demons, spiritual warfare, and the unseen realm?Drawing on more than two decades of study, Pastor Fred explores the sons of God, the giants of old, the days of Noah, and the growing interest in UFO disclosure and supernatural phenomena. He also discusses extra-biblical sources such as Enoch and Jubilees and how they relate to the biblical narrative.Whether you're curious about the Nephilim, interested in current discussions surrounding UFO disclosure, or looking for a deeper understanding of spiritual warfare, this episode will challenge you to examine these subjects through the lens of God's Word.Get Pastor Fred Price Jr.'s BookAngels, Demons, and the Battle for the Soulhttps://www.amazon.com/Angels-Demons-Battle-Soul-Recognize/dp/1667513060Connect with Elijah Murrellhttps://www.murrellministries.com/
What if the Bible you've been reading was deliberately edited to promote obedience to earthly kings? In this eye-opening episode, we dive into the dramatic differences between the widely used King James Bible and the ancient Ethiopian Orthodox Bible — a canon that preserved 88 books, including controversial texts like 1 Enoch and Jubilees. Whether you're a believer, a skeptic, or just curious about hidden religious history, this episode challenges everything you thought you knew about “the Good Book.” Is the Ethiopian Bible closer to the original scriptures? Or is it filled with dangerous additions? Tune in and decide for yourself.
The Ethiopian Bible contains more books than most Christians are familiar with—and it belongs to one of the world's oldest Christian traditions. So does that mean our Bible is missing something? In this episode of Curious Faith: Questions Answered, we explore the history of the Ethiopian Bible, why it includes books like Enoch and Jubilees, what makes a book Scripture, and how Christians have historically recognized the biblical canon. Along the way, we'll distinguish between a book being ancient, influential, and inspired and discover why the question of authority matters more than the question of age.
Melchizedek appears just three times in the entire Bible. Twice in the Hebrew Bible. Once in the New Testament. And yet entire priesthoods, theological systems, and centuries of Christian doctrine have been built on top of this one figure. So who was he really? And what if the text was changed to hide his true identity?Dr. Robert Cargill, Associate Professor of Classics at the University of Iowa, former editor of Biblical Archaeology Review, and one of the most recognized biblical archaeologists in the world, sits down to walk us through the evidence. His Oxford University Press book argues that Melchizedek was originally the king of Sodom, and that ancient scribes deliberately altered Genesis 14 to distance Abraham from a city God would later destroy. That single scribal edit sent ripple effects through the Psalms, into the book of Hebrews, and straight into the foundation of Christ's priesthood. This conversation takes you inside the Hebrew text, into the caves of Qumran, through the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Pseudepigrapha, and into the hard question of what archaeology can and cannot prove about the Bible. In this episode you will learn:- Why Melchizedek is one of the most leveraged figures in biblical history and how different groups used him for their own purposes- The textual and grammatical evidence that Melchizedek was originally the king of Sodom, not the king of Shalem- Why scribes changed a single word in Genesis 14:18 and how that edit reshaped centuries of theology- How the tithe in Genesis 14 may have gone the opposite direction from what English translations suggest- What the Dead Sea Scrolls actually are and why they changed how scholars read the Bible- What the Pseudepigrapha (1 Enoch, Jubilees, the Genesis Apocryphon) reveal about what Second Temple Jews actually believed- How the book of Enoch rewrites the flood story to solve an ethical problem in Genesis 6- The most common types of bogus archaeological claims and how to spot them- Real archaeological discoveries that illuminate the biblical text, from the seal of Hezekiah to the Tel Dan inscription- Why Dr. Cargill believes archaeology should never be used as a tool for evangelism- The story of the Greek Orthodox archaeologist whose answer about faith and science changed everythingDr. Robert Cargill's Books:Melchizedek, King of Sodom: How Scribes Invented the Biblical Priest-King (Oxford University Press) - https://a.co/d/0e3LmMWEThe Cities That Built the Bible (HarperOne) - https://a.co/d/04VqTMt6Dr. Cargill's Website: bobcargill.comDr. Cargill's YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@UC6TIKnUUWEhh1nspJ62komg Stay Connected:Website: Johnnyova.comSubscribe on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@thejohnnyovaGet my book! We want to thank all of you who have kept him in prayer. Please know that those prayers were not in vain. Our son lives with Jesus now. We are now updating this campaign to reflect our financial need for his remaining hospital bills, funeral expenses, and housing for our family. As most men, I do not enjoy asking for help. However, as most fathers and husbands can relate to, there isn't anything I won't do for my family. In light of that, I wanted to first ask all of you to pray for us. YouTube DescriptionA Bedouin shepherd throws a rock into a cave near the Dead Sea in 1947. He hears something shatter. Days later, he climbs inside and discovers scrolls that would change biblical scholarship forever.Among those scrolls: 11 copies of 1 Enoch. More than most books of the Hebrew Bible found at Qumran. This wasn't fringe literature. This was a book that shaped how ancient Jews understood angels, demons, the Nephilim, and the final judgment. Jesus and the apostles grew up in a world saturated with Enochic thought. Early church fathers quoted it as authoritative Scripture. The book of Jude quotes it directly as prophecy. And then Christianity lost it.Dr. James VanderKam is one of the world's leading Dead Sea Scrolls scholars. John A. O'Brien Professor Emeritus at Notre Dame, elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, he edited 13 volumes in the official Dead Sea Scrolls publication series and spent 30+ years working directly with the ancient manuscripts. In this conversation, he takes us inside the caves at Qumran and reveals what we lost when Christianity abandoned the Enochic worldview. In this episode you will learn:What the shepherds discovered in 1947 and why it shook biblical scholarshipWhy 11 copies of 1 Enoch at Qumran is such a significant numberThe five booklets that make up 1 Enoch and what each teachesThe story of the Watchers who descended, married women, and produced the NephilimHow Jubilees bridges Enochic literature with the Torah of MosesWhy Qumran used a 364-day solar calendar based on EnochHow the "Son of Man" title connects to the heavenly judge in Enoch's parablesWhy Jude quotes 1 Enoch by name and treats it as prophecyHow Tertullian argued Enoch's writings survived the flood on Noah's arkWhy Augustine's interpretation led Christianity to abandon the angelic rebellion narrativeHow Ethiopia became the sole guardian of the complete textWhat Dr. VanderKam experienced touching the 2,000-year-old manuscripts in JerusalemDr. James VanderKam's Books:Jubilees: A Commentary - https://www.amazon.com/Jubilees-Commentary-Hermeneia-Critical-Historical/dp/0800660358The Dead Sea Scrolls Today - https://www.amazon.com/Dead-Sea-Scrolls-Today-rev/dp/080286435XThe Meaning of the Dead Sea Scrolls - https://www.amazon.com/Meaning-Dead-Sea-Scrolls-Understanding/dp/0060684658Stay Connected:Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/@thejohnnyova Follow Johnny: https://johnnyova.com The Revelation Reset: https://a.co/d/hiUkW8H
Deep within the non-canonical Book of Jubilees lies a calendar system that does the unthinkable: it ignores the moon entirely. But if Genesis 1:14 establishes both the sun and the moon as divine markers for time, why would an ancient sect deliberately choose to "go dark" on one of them? This week, we explore the Zadok calendar and the spiritual risks of rewriting the celestial clock.
Most people assume that the Jewish canon of Scripture was already fixed and universally agreed upon in the time of Jesus—but the historical evidence tells a very different story. In this episode of FACTS, Stephen Boyce and Pat May take a deep dive into the world of Second Temple Judaism to examine what different Jewish groups actually believed about Scripture. From the Pharisees and Sadducees to the Qumran community (Essenes), we uncover a landscape of textual diversity, competing authorities, and a canon that was still developing.Did the Sadducees really only accept the Torah? Were the Pharisees already using the full Hebrew Bible? Why were books like Enoch and Jubilees preserved at Qumran? And what does all of this mean for how we understand the Old Testament today? We'll also explore the role of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the rise of rabbinic Judaism after 70 AD, and how the idea of a “closed canon” emerged over time—not before Christ. If you've ever been told that “the Jews had a settled canon,” this episode will challenge that assumption and walk through the actual historical evidence.Join us as we separate tradition from history and take a closer look at the formation of the Hebrew Scriptures.#DeadSeaScrolls #BiblicalCanon #OldTestament #SecondTempleJudaism #MasoreticText #Septuagint #BibleHistory #ChurchHistory #Apologetics #FACTSPodcastIf you'd like to donate to our ministry or be a monthly partner that receives newsletters and one on one discussions with Dr. Stephen Boyce, here's a link: https://give.tithe.ly/?formId=6381a2ee-b82f-42a7-809e-6b733cec05a7

In this episode we're discussing the origins of demonology in Western Civilization, tracing it back to its ancient roots. Pre-Christian cultures across Mesopotamia, Egypt, and beyond featured a range of supernatural beings blamed for sickness and bad choices. When Zoroastrianism came on the scene, in 8th century BC Iran, religion first developed the idea of dualism: that the world is locked in the struggle between good and evil. This idea profoundly influenced post-exilic Judaism during Persian rule, enabling them to develop concepts of organized demons, angels, Satan, and eschatology in texts like the Book of Enoch, Jubilees, and Tobit. Christianity built on this rich heritage, portraying Satan as God's active adversary and demons as a malignant force to be reckoned with in the New Testament. Later works, from the Testament of Solomon and Dante's Inferno to Milton's Paradise Lost and C.S. Lewis's Screwtape Letters, further enriched the popular imagination of demons thus giving us the understanding of demons that we have today. This episode is the first in a series exploring demonology. Further episodes will look into exorcisms and demon hunting.
In this installment, Rod Thomas explores the Jewish concepts of the Messiah, focusing on the three-messiah framework: Mashiyach Nagid, Mashiyach ben Yosef, and Mashiyach ben David. The discussion delves into Daniel's prophecy, Jewish tradition, and the identity of Yeshua (Jesus) as understood in Messianic faith. The episode also examines why mainstream Judaism rejects Yeshua as Messiah and how these messianic expectations shape both Jewish and Messianic perspectives. Key Topics Covered 1. Introduction and Context Greetings and setting: Recorded on the 3rd Day of the 11th biblical month, 6025 (Friday, January 16, 2026). Reflection on persecution, faith, and the hope found in Yeshua's teachings (Matthew 5:10-12; Ephesians 6:18; Matthew 5:44; Luke 6:28). 2. Why Judaism Rejects Yeshua as Messiah Historical grievances and theological differences. The role of Rabbinic expectations and interpretations in shaping Jewish messianic beliefs (Hebrews 2:3; Romans 3:2; Romans 11:25-26; Zechariah 12:10). 3. The Three Messiahs in Jewish Thought Mashiyach Nagid (Messiah the Prince) Mashiyach ben Yosef (Messiah, son of Joseph) Mashiyach ben David (Messiah, son of David) The episode focuses on Mashiyach Nagid, with future installments to cover the other two. 4. What is Mashiyach Nagid? Linguistic breakdown: "Mashiyach" means "Anointed One"; "Nagid" means "Prince" or "Leader." Scriptural foundation: Daniel 9:25-26 and its interpretations. The prophecy's implications for Jewish and Christian eschatology (1 Corinthians 13:12; Matthew 24:15-16). 5. The Meaning and Role of "Nagid" "Nagid" as prince, ruler, leader, commander, or official. Biblical examples: Saul, David, Solomon, Hezekiah, Abner, Azariah, and others (1 Samuel 9:16; 10:1; 13:14; 25:30; 2 Samuel 5:2; 6:21; 7:8; 1 Kings 1:35; 2 Kings 18:1; 2 Chronicles 31:13). 6. Mashiyach Nagid in Prophecy and Tradition The "transitional" leader concept: Anointed but not yet king. Comparison with "Melech" (King) and the Davidic Covenant (2 Samuel 7:8-16; Psalm 2:8-12; 2 Chronicles 13:5). 7. Messianic Traits and the Melchizedekian Order Psalm 110 as a foundational text for the dual role of king and priest. The Melchizedekian priesthood and its fulfillment in Yeshua (1 Peter 2:9; Daniel 2:44; Matthew 21:44; 1 Corinthians 15:24; Revelation 11:15). 8. Jewish Perspectives on Mashiyach Nagid Views of Rashi, Ibn Ezra, and Rambam (Maimonides) on the identity and role of Mashiyach Nagid. The Essenes and Qumran writings: Priestly and royal messiahs, "Prince of the Congregation" (Damascus Document, Rule of the Congregation, 11QMelchizedek). Apocryphal and Talmudic references: Suffering and kingly messiahs (1 Enoch, Jubilees, Talmud). 9. Christian and Messianic Interpretations Yeshua as the fulfillment of Daniel's prophecy and the persona of Mashiyach Nagid. The dual or double-fulfillment view of prophecy. Jewish objections to identifying Yeshua as all three messianic figures. 10. Application and Call to Discipleship The call for believers to imitate Yeshua's character traits: suffering, triumph, priesthood, kingship, exaltation, royal lineage, and spiritual warfare (Isaiah 53; Colossians 2:15; Psalm 110; Matthew 1:1; Zechariah 14:3; 1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 20:6; 2 Corinthians 10:4-6; Ephesians 6:12-14). Invitation to covenant relationship and Torah-honoring lifestyle (2 Corinthians 6:2; Isaiah 55:6-9). On this episode of Prove All Things, Jeff and Mike welcome guest Gary Haegerich for an in-depth examination of the increasingly popular Zadok Calendar. Together, they evaluate its claims using Scripture, history, and logic, highlighting serious contradictions found in the books of Enoch and Jubilees. The discussion exposes calendar inconsistencies, added holidays, and theological errors that conflict with both the Old and New Testaments. If you've heard claims about the “ancient” Zadok Calendar and wondered whether they hold up biblically, this episode offers a clear, thoughtful, and Scripture-based response.
Lex Rofeberg, Lexi Kohanski, and Liana Wertman (the latter two our friends at The Torah Studio) bring the 2nd conversation in a 4-episode mini-series entitled ApocryFest: Hanukkah Unbound and Un-Canonized. In this episode, they explore a text called Genesis Apocryphon. They explore the power of texts written in the 1st-person (unlike most of the Bible), ask whether it may be spiritually productive to engage with texts that are fragments (allowing us to fill in the blanks ourselves), and wonder aloud what changes when allow stories from our tradition to have multiple versions that can all simultaneously be "authentic."You can sign up for ApocryFest 2025 by heading to www.JudaismUnbound.com/apocryfest. This is a revised and even more in depth look at the groundbreaking theory that came out in 2022 by Joel Thomas. This journey will start at the origins of the Nephilim, move into Evil Enoch and the first secret society and culminate with the question, what is a Nephilim Portal Baby? Joel begins by exploring the beginning of the Nephilim by looking at the Bible at Genesis 6 and Numbers 13. He then uses hermeneutics to evaluate who the “Sons of God” are in the Old Testament and compares them to what they are in the New Testament. He explores the ancient cities of Jericho and Beit Jibrin to see who were the inhabitants that occupied those places. Lastly, Joel looks at the Book of Jubilees, Book of Jasher and Book of Enoch to see I these apocryphal texts add any credence to the idea that the Nephilim are the children of Fallen Angels. Its Jubilee time- and what are we celebrating? A no-longer-canonical book, I guess. Jubilees is a Second Temple rewrite of Genesis that reshapes creation stories, adds angelic narration, and updates the calendar to aaaaaalmost get the number of days in the year right. Then we tackle the viral claim that the Bible has 63,779 perfect cross-references. Does it prove divine authorship? Maybe! Ok, no. But we still have a lot of fun breaking it down. We look at how these “links” are created, where the argument collapses, and why the attractiveness of a chart doesn't mean it's actually useful. ---- For early access to an ad-free version of every episode of Data Over Dogma, exclusive content, and the opportunity to support our work, please consider becoming a monthly patron at: https://www.patreon.com/DataOverDogma Follow us on the various social media places: https://www.facebook.com/DataOverDogmaPod https://www.twitter.com/data_over_dogma Have you ordered Dan McClellan's New York Times bestselling book The Bible Says So yet??? As Katy prepares to leave Rome once again, she and Tiffany muse on the 2025 Jubilee or Holy Year that has taken over Rome this year. How does Holy Year 2025 compare to past Jubilees? And does the change of pope halfway through the year make a difference? And what about merch? How odd is it that a Jubilee (an institution that has been occurring every quarter century in Rome for over 500 years) should have a mascot and official merch? Does that cheaped it or make it more current? And whose job is it to design the Jubilee branding? And how has the city handled this mega-event? Has Rome been up to the task? We discuss on this episode taped on a park bench in Piazza Cavour. ------------------------------------- COME TO ROME WITH US: Our third annual Bittersweet Life Roman Adventure is all sold out for 2025! Welcome back to The God Culture.Today, we're diving deep into Revelation 20 — one of the most misunderstood passages in all of Scripture. Many have been taught multiple resurrections or separated judgments, but the Bible says otherwise. This chapter defines two outcomes, not two resurrections:The First Resurrection — for believers who reign with Messiah. The Second Death — for the ungodly, consumed in final judgment. In this teaching, we reveal how Yahusha's return, the Day of Judgment, and the 1,000-year reign all align perfectly with the prophetic record — from Matthew 25 to 2 Esdras, 1 Enoch, and Jubilees. There is no delay between resurrection and judgment. It all happens in one day — the Day of Yahuah.Chapters / Timestamps (optional for YouTube Chapters)0:00 – Introduction1:42 – What Revelation 20 Actually Says4:15 – The First Resurrection (Believers Only)8:20 – The Second Death (The Wicked Consumed)13:10 – Doctrinal Clarifications and Greek Analysis17:55 – All Judged on One Day22:00 – Second Temple Witnesses (2 Esdras, Enoch, Jubilees)26:30 – Summary: The True Day of Judgment29:00 – Final Thoughts & Call to StudyScriptural References:Revelation 20 | Matthew 25 | John 5 | Hebrews 9:27 | Acts 17:31 | 2 Thessalonians 1 | 2 Esdras 7 | 1 Enoch 90 | Jubilees 23 | Tobit 13Watch Next:
Frequently you might hear someone claim that a particular Jewish melody is "mi-Sinai" (literally: "from Mount Sinai," implying "dating back to when Moses received the 10 commandments at Mount Sinai")? Mark Kligman, an ethnomusicologist who directs The Lowell Milken Center for Music of American Jewish Experience, joins Dan and Lex to explore what this term illustrates. In doing so, they explore why "Jewish music" is such a challenging word to define -- along with what Jewish music does for people's lives. This episode is the third in an ongoing mini-series of Judaism Unbound episodes mobilizing Jewish music -- past, present, and future -- as a launching point into conversations about contemporary Jewish life and experience.Head to JudaismUnbound.com/classes to check out our up upcoming courses in the UnYeshiva, beginning in mid-late October. Why does it seem like history itself is echoing ancient prophecy? The conversations are sometimes clarifying but always contrarian. Come for their uncommon insights, stay for their critical takes on the fields of Rabbinics, Classics, History, Philosophy, Critical Theory, and more!Episode 2: What's Bad About Being in the Image of God? Description: Hosts Gilah Kletenik and Rafe Neis discuss the multifaceted and often contradictory Jewish notion that humans are created in the image of God. They explore the historical context of this idea in ancient near Eastern cultures and its interpretation through Jewish and Christian philosophical traditions. The hosts delve into the dark side of this notion, including its use in exclusionary ideologies, the hierarchies it inducts, and its potential pitfalls. They also debate whether alternative theological frameworks better address contemporary issues like climate change, ultimately suggesting a nuanced approach that balances the ideal of human dignity with a broader ecological responsibility. You can subscribe to Aderaba via Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or anywhere else podcasts are found.-------------------------------------------------------Head to JudaismUnbound.com/classes to check out our up upcoming courses in the UnYeshiva. Elana Arian, a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and prayer leader, is one of the most important voices in contemporary Jewish music. So when she emailed Judaism Unbound with an entire vision for a mini-series of episodes exploring Jewish music, we of course paid attention! She joins Dan Libenson and Lex Rofeberg for a conversation about what the phrase "Jewish music" means, what sacred music does to/for us, and the extent to which there even is a real boundary between "Jewish music" and music more generally. Abram Becomes Abraham: The Supreme Test of Faith takes you on a journey through one of the most pivotal transformations in all of Scripture. Video Available upon release at 9:00pm ET/8:00pm CT at https://rumble.com/v6zrs5k-abram-becomes-abraham-part-1.html?mref=3j2hwn&mc=dxcv1 or https://www.lastchristian.net/From the barrenness of Sarah and the impatience that birthed Ishmael, to the covenant promise that changed Abram's very name and identity. And finally, to the supreme test of faith when Abraham was called to offer his beloved son Isaac as a sacrifice to God. This is the story of a man refined by God's hand and prepared to become the father of nations.Drawing from Genesis 16–22, Jubilees 16–18, and Jasher 17–23, this episode uncovers powerful details often overlooked. The laughter of doubt that turned into the laughter of joy, the fiery destruction of Sodom as a warning to the world, the separation between flesh and spirit in Ishmael and Isaac, and the heart-wrenching ascent up Mount Moriah where God Himself provided the substitute sacrifice. Every step reveals the prophetic foreshadowing of Christ, the Lamb of God, and every moment speaks to the believer's call to walk in faith and obedience today. This is not just a historical retelling. It is a prophetic reminder. The struggle between Ishmael and Isaac points directly to today's Middle East conflict. The sins of Sodom mirror the moral collapse of our modern culture. And Abraham's willingness to give up his only son foreshadows the Father's love in offering His Son for our redemption. In a world facing tests of loyalty, obedience, and faith. Abraham's journey reminds us that God's promises are sure, His timing is perfect, and His provision is certain. The God who provided a ram on Mount Moriah is the same God who has provided salvation through Christ. And the same God who calls His people today to live by faith, not by sight. For more information, visit www.lastchristian.net
The Book of Jubilees is basically a retelling of Genesis and Exodus with a focus on the law. Our Iron and Myth crew assembles to discuss a book written around the same time as the Book of 1 Enoch but with a different perspective on the ultimate solution to the problem of evil. Joining us is Doug Van Dorn(DouglasVanDorn.com), author of Giants: Sons of the Gods; and Brian Godawa (Godawa.com), best-selling author of the theological thriller Cruel Logic, and two new novels based on the period of the Maccabees in Judea. Sadly, Dr. Judd Burton (BurtonBeyond.net) had technical issues logging on and wasn't able to take part in the conversation. We discuss the Book of Jublilees' unique perspective on biblical narratives, particularly Genesis and Exodus. We explore the theological implications of the text, its focus on the law, and the roles of angels and Watchers. They also examine the historical context of the book (especially as a reaction to Hellenization during the Maccabean period), its covenantal themes, and its significance in understanding ancient Jewish thought. While a study of Jubilees isn't essential for Christians, it does offer insight into Jewish interpretations of Genesis and Exodus and helps give context to New Testament writings.
In this edition of our Weekly Comprehensive Bible Study with Host David Paxton. We dive deep into Scripture exploring the powerful story of Abraham's call, his journey of faith, and the covenant God confirmed with him.Video Version available upon release at 9:00pm ET/8:00pm CT at https://rumble.com/v6zge9w-gods-call-and-covenant.html?mref=3j2hwn&mc=dxcv1Drawing from the Book of Genesis 12–15, along with the ancient texts from both the Jubilees 13–15 and Jasher. David unpacks how Abram left everything behind, trusted God's promises, and became the father of nations. From leaving Ur to facing kings in battle, from receiving Melchizedek's blessing to having his faith counted as righteousness, Abraham's story is more than history, it's prophecy. This covenant points forward to Christ and still testifies today to God's eternal promises for Israel and His people.Join us as we uncover the prophetic significance of Abraham's journey and discover what it means for believers living in these end times. The God who called Abraham is still calling His people to step out, trust His word, and live by covenant faith.Evangelical Press Association Members David Paxton and JD Williams bring this message from a Conservative Evangelical Christian perspective. For more information, please visit: https://www.lastchristian.net

This Prove All Things episode explores the Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha, often called the “lost books of the Bible,” with special focus on the Book of Jubilees. The hosts compare these writings with Scripture, highlighting contradictions such as false calendars, added Sabbath restrictions, and myths influenced by Greek thought. They explain why Protestants, Jews, and most Christian traditions reject these texts as inspired, while still noting their historical and cultural interest.

In this powerful continuation of Esau or Jacob, Bishop Omar takes us on a deep spiritual excavation through the historical books of Jasher and, for the first time from the pulpit, the Book of Jubilees. This message feels like an archaeological breakthrough for Hebrews in America—connecting dots from Genesis to Jasher to Jubilees with divine precision and revelation. One of the foundational truths explored is found in Genesis: Why did Isaac love Esau, and why did Rebecca love Jacob? The Bible tells us Isaac loved Esau for his venison (how good he could cook)—meaning for what he could do, not for who he was. Bishop powerfully reminds us not to love others based on their performance, but with agape love—unconditional, unwavering, and rooted in truth. This principle was especially moving when applied to marriage, challenging us to love our spouses beyond their roles or abilities. The Book of Jasher reveals that it was Abraham, not Isaac, who first favored Jacob and refused Esau. Abraham, discerning Esau's unrighteous ways, had already spoken a blessing over Jacob and even instructed Rebecca to love and protect him. Then, in a stunning revelation from the Book of Jubilees, Bishop explores the blessing of Abraham through the lens of the Arab nations—identified in Jubilees Chapter 20 as descendants of the handmaids. Despite not being children of the promise, they still inherited immense wealth and prosperity. So the question becomes: how much more blessed are the true children of the promise? This sermon is rich with truth, filled with light, and sure to stir your heart and mind as we uncover the prophetic legacy of our Hebrew heritage.

The Anasazi, also called the Ancestral Puebloans, were an ancient Native American culture that flourished in the Four Corners region (present-day Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico) from roughly 100 AD to 1300 AD, known for their advanced agricultural practices, cliff dwellings, and pottery. The name "Anasazi" has come to mean "ancient people," although the word itself is Navajo, meaning "enemy ancestors." The Anasazi were one of four major prehistoric archaeological traditions recognized in the American Southwest along with the Mogollon, Hohokam, and Patayan, but of the four, the Anasazi were known as the deadliest and were known to mix human meat with maize as not only for ritual purposes but dietary as well. Jon from 21CD Podcast is back to join Joel on a fascinating journey of Oasisamerican discovery of the origins of corn and what its original purpose was as a gift from the "gods". They look at apocryphal texts like the Book of Enoch and Jubilees to understand the beginnings of genetically modified food. They then focus on Quetzalcoatl, "The Feathered Serpent", and the god's connection to human sacrifices and the eating of tlacatlaolli. Lastly, Joel and Jon explore the book, "Man Corn" by Christy G. Turner II, and his evidence for cannibalism among the Anasazi, by developing a set of six criteria for determining whether human cannibalism was likely to have occurred, based on analysis of archaeological remains. Questions Covered: 01:55 – How could one know what statements are infallible? Why does it not matter that there isn't a definitive record or list of infallible statements/teachings 06:27 – Is a hot dog a sandwich? 12:48 – Do the eastern churches that used to be eastern orthodox still use the eastern canon, or did they switch to the Catholic list of books. And if it did change their canon, how has that changed their liturgy or practice/their sacraments? 15:46 – One question that I've always pondered was, what would it have been like when the Blessed Mother first received the Eucharist? I can't imagine what it would have been like for her and perhaps I may never be able to understand or imagine that. 17:35 – Dear Jimmy, I have one: Can Catholics believe in an atemporal fall? (Or a pre big-bang fall)? Thank you very much! 21:38 – Hi Jimmy, new Catholic here. Could you help me to understand in The Apostles Creed where it states that Jesus “descended into hell.” Still a little confused as to what that means. I’ve read several interpretations and can’t seem to find a consensus. Thanks! You’ve been a great help in my journey. 24:31 – What makes baptism in tongues different from baptism in water? 29:12 – How should we treat the angels named in ancient extra biblical sources like Enoch and Jubilees? I have been wary of and avoided interest in them after seeing their use in occult and esoteric connections? Is there any standing Catholic teaching on this topic? I have come across references to a 745 synod in Rome? 37:08 – Do atheists who willfully reject the existence of God and Christianity on strict philosophical/evidential grounds have a chance to be saved? If so, on what basis? 41:18 – We know that angels, both holy and fallen can materialize in a form on earth. Jacob, Lot, etc….If fallen angels do materialize as UAPs, why do they choose the form of a flying craft?…a craft can carry multiple individuals. Why materialize as a flying craft? 48:48 – Does reciting the Confiteor during Mass absolve us of venial sins, and if so, is it necessary to say the entire Confiteor for the absolution to be valid? One of our parish priests will sometimes skip over it, jumping straight into “May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins …” Thank you for all that you do, Jimmy! 51:37 – Bible Question: How does one reconcile 1 John saying “If we say we have no sin, the truth is not in us” and also saying, “Those who are born of God do not sin.” 53:51 – I came across a claim recently that suggests Lazarus could actually be the Beloved Disciple from John's gospel and the eyewitness source for the gospel. I wonder if you have heard this claim before and if so what are your thoughts on it. …
