From my perspective as a plastic surgeon, a surgical facelift provides the most definitive and long-lasting results.  After all, it is a surgical procedure that involves a physical re-positioning of the tissues of the face and neck, more commonly on a fascial level or deeper, on a periosteal or bony plane. This episode looks at a new technology that promises a facelift effect without undergoing the knife. In this episode of The Plastic Surgery Revolution, Dr. Steven Davis breaks down one of today's hottest topics in aesthetic surgery—the Deep Plane facelift—and explains why it's not the only option for restoring a youthful appearance. With everyone online buzzing about Deep Plane procedures, it's easy to assume it's the universal “gold standard.” But Dr. Davis shares why the best facelift is always the one tailored to your anatomy, history, lifestyle, and goals—not the one trending on social media. He explores: Why Deep Plane facelifts are popular—and where they fit How previous procedures (from traditional facelifts to the old Lifestyle Lift) influence what's possible now When a “tweak” or secondary lift may be all you need How weight loss medications and dramatic changes in facial volume are leading more young patients to need skin-tightening surgeries The importance of a personalized consultation—especially with major variability in age, health, weight changes, and skin quality Dr. Davis emphasizes that no single technique is right for everyone. Whether you've had surgery years ago or are facing new skin laxity from weight loss, today's facelift options are more customizable than ever. As the holiday season approaches, it may be the perfect time to explore what's truly best for your face—not the Internet's favorite. A facelift without a telltale ear scar sounds like sci‑fi—until you hear how Dr. Mark Mani designed it. We sit down with the Beverly Hills surgeon, artist, and inventor to explore how endoscopic deep‑plane lifting repositions the face where gravity actually acts, delivering natural contour without the stigma of visible incisions. Mark traces the decade it took to refine the approach, publish the first academic description, and train surgeons worldwide, and he explains why subtle, anatomically honest work beats skin‑tension shortcuts every time. That precision sits inside a larger philosophy. Mark's childhood bridged Indian and American worlds, his studies spanned Harvard to Baylor, and his curiosity leaps from quantum theory to biology. He argues that humans cooperate far beyond what selfish‑gene logic predicts because we chase legacy—phenotypic immortality—through service, craft, and knowledge. That belief shows up in his operating room and his volunteer work with Face Forward International, where reconstructive surgery helps survivors of burns and abuse reclaim identity and voice. Beauty, in this frame, is not an algorithm; it's dignity, agency, and the confidence to meet another person's gaze.We also challenge a big myth: you can fill your way to youth. Mark makes the case for conservative strategy, fat over filler when volume is needed, and why overfilling often makes faces look bigger, not younger. Then we shift to recovery and daily life with the Mani Flow, his travel‑ready neck wearable that supports back sleeping, protects facial ligaments, and turns red‑eyes into real rest. If you care about natural results, subtle scars (or none), and the future of endoscopic facelifts, you'll find clear takeaways, practical nuance, and a humane way to think about aging and aesthetics. If this conversation sparked ideas, follow and share the show, leave a quick review, and tell us: what's one mindset shift that changed how you see aging?https://marcmani.com/Lies I Taught In Medical School : Free sample chapter- https://www.robertlufkinmd.com/lies/Complete Metabolic Heart Scan (LUFKIN20 for 20% off) https://www.innerscopic.com/Fasting Mimicking Diet (20% off) https://prolonlife.com/Lufkin At home blood testing (20% off) https://siphoxhealth.com/lufkinMimio Health (LUFKIN for 15% off) https://mimiohealth.sjv.io/c/5810114/2745519/30611 Web: https://robertlufkinmd.com/X: https://x.com/robertlufkinmdYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/robertLufkinmdInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/robertlufkinmd/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/robertlufkinmd/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@robertlufkinThreads: https://www.threads.net/@robertlufkinmdFacebook: ...

The End of the Generalist Era - Modern vehicles are too complex for the “all makes, all models, all repairs” approach. Marconi shared that when he tried doing everything—from transmission rebuilds to diagnostics—profitability disappeared. The time, training, and tooling required simply didn't make sense. Specialization: The Smarter Path Forward - Like medicine's cardiologists and neurologists, automotive professionals must focus their expertise. Specialization boosts productivity, profit, and performance while creating better outcomes for customers. Redefining Professionalism and Language - Replace “mechanic” or “tech” with “technologist” or “specialist.” - Use precise titles like “calibration specialist” to build client confidence. - Adopt “Essential Skilled Occupation (ESO)” to better reflect the professionalism of today's technicians. In this episode of The Plastic Surgery Revolution, Dr. Steven Davis takes on one of the most common—and often misunderstood—questions in aesthetic medicine: Should I get fillers or a facelift? Drawing on his in-office consultations and surgical experience, Dr. Davis explains the true relationship between these two approaches and why the decision isn't as simple as “one or the other.” He addresses the growing concern that previous filler treatments or non-surgical skin tightening procedures might make a future facelift more difficult. Dr. Davis clarifies that while certain treatments—such as radiofrequency tightening, Kybella, or Sculptra—can create denser collagen and mild scarring that make surgical dissection more technical, intradermal hyaluronic acid fillers (the most common type) are entirely safe and compatible with future surgery. He walks listeners through the anatomy of the skin, from the outer epidermis to the structural dermis below, using vivid imagery to explain how healthy collagen gives the skin that plump, youthful “baby cheek” look. According to Dr. Davis, placing filler within the dermis helps rebuild that structure—essentially “painting within the skin” to smooth fine lines, lift corners of the mouth, and restore a soft, natural texture. Ultimately, Dr. Davis emphasizes that a facelift and fillers serve different but complementary purposes. A facelift repositions and tightens deeper tissues, while fillers rejuvenate the skin itself. Together, they can produce more balanced, elegant results when used strategically. Before deciding on any treatment, Dr. Davis encourages patients to have a thoughtful consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon who understands both the artistry and science behind these options.

A facelift may be the star of the show, but it's rarely a solo act. Dr. Lawrence Bass and Dr. Kylie Edinger break down the “facelift friends” — the add-on procedures and treatments that enhance results, restore balance, and address areas the lift alone can't fix.  The key is harmony. A lifted mid and lower face can still look “off” if the eyes, brows, skin, or lips tell a different age story.  By tailoring combinations of surgical and non-surgical treatments to your needs, you can walk away with results that look complete, natural, and last longer without having to come back months later for the “next worst thing.” Learn more about facelift surgery About Dr. Kylie Edinger Dr. Kylie Edinger is a plastic surgeon practicing in Bozeman, Montana. RUNDOWN   Piano lessons, online gambling in the Cayman Islands, and Louis Armstrong trivia. We've got it all. Mitch and Hotshot dissects Ichiro's Hall of Fame speech, particularly his omission of managers like Lou Piniella. Mitch and Hotshot Scott unpack the Mariners' blockbuster moves—bringing back Eugenio Suarez and adding Josh Naylor at the trade deadline—instantly transforming a middling offense into one of the most dangerous in baseball. They contrast the current optimism with the baffling decision to trade Suarez last year for pennies, which may have cost the team a playoff spot. With Bryce Miller returning to form after injury and the offense now averaging nearly five runs per game, the duo argues that anything less than a playoff berth would be a major disappointment for the 2025 Mariners. David Samson join Mitch and reflects on his relationship with Ichiro Suzuki after being name-checked in Ichiro's Hall of Fame speech — including a humorous jab at the Miami Marlins. Samson details their deep personal friendship, Ichiro's elite preparation and humility, and why he believes Ichiro still deserves a roster spot even today. The conversation pivots to MLB trade deadline winners and losers, with Seattle emerging as a serious AL contender, and whether Cal Raleigh's heroic season could translate into an MVP — if Judge stumbles. Samson also criticizes the anonymous voter who snubbed Ichiro from a unanimous Hall induction, calling it “cowardice. Joe Doyle and Brady Farkas (Mariners No-Table) break down Seattle's pivotal week: winning three of four against Texas, the return of Eugenio Suarez, and a stretch that has them closing in on the AL West lead. The trio analyzes the revamped lineup, including Julio's hot August and Randy Arozarena in the leadoff spot, while also addressing Cal Raleigh's slump and bullpen concerns. They assess Bryce Miller's return timeline, why the team passed on Jhoan Duran, and whether George Kirby and Logan Gilbert can anchor the final playoff push. Out-on-a-limb predictions and plenty of Mariner optimism round out the episode. Brady Henderson joins Mitch Unfiltered to break down the top three storylines from Seahawks training camp: the major quarterback transition from Geno Smith to Sam Darnold, a loaded and returning defensive core with a few key injury concerns, and a possible shift in the running back hierarchy as Zach Charbonnet gains favor. Henderson also highlights emerging rookie wide receiver Tory Horton as more than just a training camp darling, weighs in on trade rumors involving Micah Parsons and Terry McLaurin, and offers key insight into position group battles, injury timelines, and contract status updates.   GUESTS   David Samson | Former Miami Marlins President, Host of Nothing Personal podcast Brady Farkas | Host, Refuse to Lose Podcast (Mariners on SI) Joe Doyle | MLB Draft & Mariners Analyst, Over Slot Substack Brady Henderson | Seahawks Insider, ESPN.com   TABLE OF CONTENTS   0:00 | Mariners Fans Miss the Plot, Cayman Island Trivia, and Ichiro's Quiet Snub 26:08 | Mariners All-In: Gino's Redemption, Bryce Miller's Return, and a Loaded Lineup Sparks Playoff Hopes 41:00 | GUEST: David Samson on Ichiro's Hall of Fame Roast, Seattle's MVP Catcher, and MLB Deadline Fallout. 1:09:43 | GUEST: Mariners No-Table; Mariners Hit Their Stride, Gino Returns, and Julio Ignites August Surge 1:41:00 | GUEST: Brady Henderson; Seahawks Camp Buzz: QB Shakeup, Defensive Depth, and a New WR Star? 1:56:03 | Other Stuff Segment: John Schneider contract extension, Seahawks GM performance over the last 8 years, Seahawks first-round draft picks review, Russell Wilson trade, Jamal Adams trade failure, philosophical questions about GM evaluation, Shannon Sharpe ESPN departure after legal settlement, Pete Carroll's return and fan reaction, Yankees fans caught in sexual act at stadium, Marcus Morris bad check scam at Vegas casinos, Marcus Morris jail food complaint, Eric Schmidt buys Spelling Manor for $110 million, history of Aaron and Tori Spelling, Gilbert Arenas illegal gambling ring in mansion, Poltergeist house recreated as Airbnb, Scottie Scheffler wins $18 million while not playing, PGA Tour bonus payouts. Facebook Facelift: Optimizing Your Page for Engagement

This week on the podcast, we're having a kind of part two of our Facebook strategy series—and trust me, you're going to want to take a good look at your page. Because if your Facebook isn't converting or growing your audience like it used to, these four smart tweaks just might be the facelift it needs. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode207 4 Smart Fixes to Boost Engagement These aren't complicated or tech-heavy changes. They're simple, intentional updates you can make today to boost engagement, grow your audience, and build trust—without burning out. 1. Fix Your Facebook Page Name (Yes, Really) Did you know your Facebook page actually has two names? One is the public-facing title (think: “Melanie Ferguson DIY Home Decorating”), and the other is your @handle (mine's @southerncrushathome). Here's why this matters: Your title should be keyword-rich so that when someone types “DIY home decor” in the Facebook search bar, your page comes up. Your handle should ideally match across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) to keep your brand cohesive and easier to find. This one small change could make a big impact—just remember, Facebook only lets you change your page name every 60 days, so choose wisely. 2. Update That Profile Picture It might feel easier to use a logo or an avatar (guilty!), but if you are the brand, then your face should be front and center. A clear, smiling photo of YOU builds: Trust Connection Confidence in your brand In today's AI-heavy world, showing up as your real, beautiful self is one of the best things you can do to stand out and build credibility. 3. Use Your Cover Photo Like a Lead Magnet Did you know your Facebook cover image can include a clickable description? Most people don't take advantage of this—but you should. Here's how to optimize it: Add a link in the cover image description to your freebie, email list, or product Include a short message for first-time visitors Make it super clear how they can stay connected with you This hidden gem is a great way to capture warm traffic right from the top of your page. 4. Post More Than You Think You Should I get it—we don't want to sound repetitive. But most of your audience isn't seeing your content the first time around (or even the third time). Here's what works: Post the same message in multiple formats: feed, stories, live video, reels Reuse evergreen posts every 90 days—no one's keeping track but you Mix your media: still images, short text posts, videos, polls, and more And if you're not sure what to post or how to plan ahead, I've got you covered… Want Help Planning All of This?
