Rebecca Corry is not afraid to speak her mind and put her heart on the line. In this week's episode, she joins us to do both as she talks about her beloved Angel, a most noble, gentle soul wrapped in a Pittie body, who brought Rebecca to her purpose. Now this funny lady is the founder and president of her incredible nonprofit and a fierce advocate for the inherently good Pitbull type dogs she works tirelessly to provide spay and neuter for, to help save, and to love. Rebecca and Katya discuss broken systems, the need to get in the fight for what's right, and the importance of accepting a little inconvenience so you can experience the magic of being changed by an animal. Follow Stand Up For Pits Foundation and stay connected to what you can do to help Pitbulls. Who Is Rebecca Corry? Why are Deb's DMs so filthy? And why does she like it? What is Stand Up For Pits Foundation? Why did Deb have two black eyes when she stole a dog? Who smells their dogs' feet? Deb doesn't know anything but we'll find out on today's show. Enjoy!
This week we're celebrating Pibbles or Pit-Bull type dogs! Like 99.9% of humans - dogs are not born evil. But years of misinformation and abuse have given these dogs a bad name. The truth is - these types of dogs are smarter and more compassionate than most other dogs. Our guest - comedian Rebecca Corry and her Stand Up For Pits Foundation have done so much to help Pibble's world wide. Not just finding homes for abused and abandon dogs but also changing the way pit bull type dogs are perceived by society. Rebecca is the best! We talk about using stand up comedy for good, organizing 5,000 people in DC and *WARNING* Dog Fighting. Also, no need to point out how sheltered I must have been as a younger person to not know anything about dog fighting until recently (last 15 years or so). No one's gonna argue that. Life is about learning as you go. Rebecca is a comedian and actress. She's been in hit shows such as The King of Queens, 2 Broke Girls, Will & Grace, and more. She is also the founder and president of Stand up for Pits Foundation, an amazing nonprofit that is dedicated to ending abuse and discrimination of "pitbull" type dogs. Rebecca hosts the popular 'Stand Up for Pits' comedy special, that is built around raising awareness for the cause. Some of the world's biggest names in comedy have performed at the Stand Up For Pits events, including Patton Oswalt, Jim Gaffigan, Bill Burr, Bob Saget, Adam Sandler, David Spade, and Tig Notaro... to name a few. This is a cause that is close to my heart and I loved having Rebecca on to discuss the following. Rebecca and I discussed: What is a Pitbull type dog? What is BSL? How she got into comedy The false narrative of media around Pitbulls Why she started SUFP Her passion vs her purpose in life Why Spaying & Neutering is so important Why velvet hippos are the best The discrimination Pitbulls face from insurance companies to state legislators And much more... Rebecca Corry Stand Up For Pits My Take: To single out one breed of dog, and say that they are bad or dangerous, is in a word, stupid. Not only is it not backed by actual science or data, but it is also, in fact, dangerous to that breed. Pitbulls are no different than any other dog (except they're better) - they are amazing, loving, gentle dogs that have been covered by the media terribly, and often abused, at the hands of psychologically stunted people. If you are looking for your new best friend, go adopt a Pitbull in a shelter today. Support the Podcast

The pictures and paintings of Mr. Williams, who died in 1993, and the sterling trophies he won all vanished without a word recently from the clubhouse where he had spent many afternoons tipping back Champagne with some of Los Angeles County's biggest and richest names: the parents of his young charges. Last month, the club removed his name from the grand show jumping stadium at the heart of the sprawling property at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains, once the Jimmy A. Williams Oval. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that C.K.'s scheduled next-day appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert had also been canceled and predicted that this was due to an upcoming New York Times story.[119] The report, published later that day, revealed sexual harassment allegations by five women against C.K.[120] One of the allegations described a 2005 encounter in which C.K. asked comedian Rebecca Corry for permission to accompany her to a dressing room so that he could masturbate in front of her. The incident, which took place on the set of a television pilot, was reported to executive producers Courteney Cox and David Arquette who considered shutting down the production until Corry convinced them to continue. According to the comedy duo Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolov, who detailed a visit to C.K.'s hotel room in 2002, C.K. made a similar request to them and proceeded to ejaculate on his stomach before receiving an answer. Goodman and Wolov recalled laughing at what they thought was a joke before being left speechless.[120] One of their managers, Lee Kernis, named Dave Becky in this accusation for giving a hostile response. Becky, who manages several prominent comedians, has since apologized and dropped C.K. as a client.[121][122] The account of an unnamed coworker on The Chris Rock Show, saying that she eventually assented to Louis C.K.'s pressure to watch him masturbate, was also included in the piece. These stories were corroborated by comedian Abby Schachner who stated that Louis C.K. complimented her appearance and then audibly started to masturbate during a 2003 phone call.[120] Corry and Schachner both added that they had received apologies in some form after several years.[123] https://www.acoupleofaveragejoes.com/ https://www.patreon.com/acoupleofaveragejoes https://radiopublic.com/cinescape-magazine-podcast-G7pnZB
