Growing up with a dad (Terry) who played 10 seasons in the NBA, you might expect that Ed Davis was pushed from the time he could hold a basketball. But his father let Ed's love of the game develop naturally before training him on the court, at the track, and in the weight room when he was a teenager. Ed also benefited from a mom who let him put basketball first, pickup games with the likes of Ben Wallace at Virginia Union, and the discipline and timekeeping he learned at a private military school. All these things helped Ed become a top-10 high school prospect and McDonald's High School All-American. His decision to play for Roy Williams at UNC was vindicated when the team won the national championship his freshman year. After his sophomore season, Ed declared for the 2010 NBA Draft and was picked 13th by the Toronto Raptors. In his 12-year career, he also played for the Grizzlies, Lakers, Jazz, Nets, and Cavaliers, and led the league in offensive rebounding rate one season. In this episode, Ed dishes on:· Why he chose to fight for playing time at North Carolina over starting at other schools· How breaking his wrist against Duke changed his pre-draft process· Why the Transfer Portal, NIL, and mixtapes have changed high school and college basketball · How guidance from Reggie Evans and DeMar DeRozan helped him navigate his rookie year· Who was his worst coach in the NBA and how this contrasted with the leadership of Quin Snyder and Roy WilliamsKeep up with Ed on Twitter @eddavisXVII.

In this episode Evarist speaks with 13-year NBA veteran and current BIG 3 player, Reggie Evans. Reggie talks about the great athletes that have come from his hometown of Pensacola, how the heck he made his way to Iowa, his thoughts on the new BIG 3 announcements and how he viewed his role in the NBA.
On this week's episode, the boys are joined by one of their own, Mo from The Rundown Podcast for another crossover episode! The guys break down the Raptor's loss and what to expect with Lowry's return and the tough schedule coming up. They discuss the blown call on James Harden's dunk, who in the world is the Lonnie Walker IV and how did he channel his inner T-Mac to bring the spurs back for the win. Luka Doncic magic is in full effect, Mo's passionate take on the future MVP and how there is no comparison between Trae Young and Luka! Finally, we end off on the hardwood with potential mid-season tournament, and what it could mean moving forward. To the gridiron, we go! We break down how far can Lamar Jackson take the Ravens. Also, Jay is super excited for his Bills and is calling an upset over the Ravens. We close off the episode with the playoff rankings and who has the best chance of taking home the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Noted large human being and rebounding machine Reggie Evans kicks off the weekend of Big 3 coverage leading us into a sometimes contentious, often jovial talk with the White Mamba himself Brian Scalabrine. Then, Coley and Tyler talk about Albert Pujols. And also the rookie survey. And also "So Much Fun" gets brought up. Among other things.
PRESENTED BY KEEPS On this episode, we make podcasting history! Gilbert and Mike run the show while the Hibachi is playing his BIG3 game for the Enemies. If you want to know what it’s like to go inside the head of a player during a game, this is your chance. Gil gives you a look at the game as he sees it. Get as close to the action as you can with Agent Zero...knocking down shots, guarding Mario Chalmers, running through Reggie Evans screens and of course talking trash. It’s as total access as you can get. The podcast game will never be the same!
Back from the hinterlands of sub-optimal computer performance, the Bender Street Bullies emerge, sporting woolly beards, broad shoulders, and a flair for the dramatic. (They spent a lot of time hanging out with Reggie Evans.) In this episode there's double the hypotheticals, quadruple the acrimony on Loser's Trivia, and a rare singularity when it comes to general sports topic discussion. Plus, Pebs trudges through the cornfield like Anthony sent him there. Wish for happy things and be glad that you were rewarded with this installment! Follow us on Twitter: @BenderStreet
This week on The Atlantic Files, Mike Bash and Alex Fischbein dive into the story of Joel Embiid's frustration with his role on the team, the Brooklyn Nets grabbing a big win against Toronto, and the Chicago Bulls hitting an all-time low. Embiid went on record saying that he was frustrated with how he was being used on the Philadelphia 76ers. He hit a little bit of a rough stretch before he was rested for a game, and he wasn't shy about telling the media his reasoning. He did, however, clarify his statements later, which led Alex and Mike to believe that his frustration was never really with the role, just his own play at the time. The Nets had themselves a game and took down the top team in the East! Ed Davis, who also plays better defense against Embiid over any other big in the Atlantic, put up some crazy Reggie Evans type numbers. When will they start beating the bad teams as well though? Also, the Chicago Bulls had a historic beat down. No, they were not on the winning side. Chicago fans, you probably have already tried to forget about it. We had to comment on it though because the players even complained about their practices. Hear Mike and Alex's thoughts on those topics and more in the full episode!

D'Angelo Russell and the Brooklyn Nets have been red hot on offense to start the season. So, it's only right that we talk some Nets and bring in the new Atlantic Files' Nets correspondent, Mike Bash, from The Underdog Sports. Mike and I go over the off-season where Brooklyn set the tone for what their future could look like. Then, we talk about the kind of impact that the Jeremy Lin injury could have on the team. Thrown in between are memories of the New Jersey Nets, talk about Reggie Evans, and more. To round out this week's episode, the Philadelphia 76ers' training staff needs to be roasted again. Markelle Fultz had to get his shoulder drained and reportedly is unable to lift his arm enough to shoot a ball. He has been playing through pain, and the trainers have seemingly failed yet again.

This week Matt Ritter and Jeff Cerulli discuss a very light week for the Knicks. A win in London vs the bottom feeding Pistons and a rough, rough loss to a bitter rival NJ Nets. We discuss again how rebounding and effort are becoming major problems and how we wish we had a guy like Reggie Evans instead of a stiff like Copeland. On the bright side, Amare's work with Hakeem seems to be paying off, although he looks visibly shorter and is getting stuffed everytime he drives baseline. Once again Melo and JR are having rough shooting outings, although there really aren't many options for shooting. We run through the available free agents in an effort to avoid having K-Mart come to the Knicks. Matt's personal choice would be Dan Gadzuric. Jeff seems to like a guy named Marcus Cousins, not to be confused with DeMarcus Cousins. This is the Marcus Cousins. We look ahead to a rematch against the Celts where the smell of Honey Nut Cheerios may be wafting through the air vents and pray that the Knicks can rip off a winning streak in an easy stretch of the schedule.
To preview the Spurs-Clippers playoff series, D.J. Foster joins the 4-Down Podcast. Andrew and D.J. talk about Chris Paul's flopping, the dirty play of Reggie Evans and Vinny Del Negro calling D.J. fat.
