Mike Tomlin's shocking decision to step down after 19 seasons in Pittsburgh headlines this episode, leaving the Rooneys stunned and the league wondering what's next—another sideline stop or a blockbuster move to the broadcast booth? We recap a thrilling Wild Card weekend that once again proved why the NFL reigns supreme, make our Divisional Weekend picks, and shift to college football as Indiana faces Miami in the Natty—breaking down what the Canes need to do to pull off the upset and what a Miami win could mean for the future of the CFP. We close Into the Volcano with Chels reflecting on the Jacksonville FP debate around Lynn Jones and the reminder that growth can still happen, even when outcomes don't go as planned.
GET TICKETS TO THE SNERAS TOUR IN AUSTRALIA: https://www.evolutionofasnake.com Welcome back to our recap of the most important docuseries in history. In today's dispatch, we revisit episode 5: where The Eras Tour hits Toronto and suddenly everything turns toward family, legacy, and the people who make you who you are. Andrea draws aching parallels between Taylor and her late mother, while the crew reflects on their own losses, including a moving moment from Kamilah Marshall. Then the tone swerves into the painfully awkward origins of The Life of a Showgirl: early studio sessions, enthusiastic CANCELLED! recording footage...it's hard out here. Gracie Abrams drops by to talk about growing up idolizing Taylor, then joins her for a very… ambitious… mashup of “Us” and “Out of the Woods.” Enjoy! Learn more about your ad choices. GET TICKETS TO THE SNERAS TOUR IN AUSTRALIA: https://www.evolutionofasnake.com Welcome back to our recap of the most important docuseries in history. In today's dispatch, we revisit episode 4: where Taylor somehow finds the time—mid-tour—to create and record The Tortured Poets Department, turning exhaustion into fuel and isolation into art. It is short and sweet, but it was everything. She opens up about meeting Travis Kelce and developing a very... earnest...passion for football, before roping her stage-husband-to-be into an Eras skit at the hallowed London show WE attended. We get a surprise crossover moment with Sabrina Carpenter with busted harmonies, and a moving reflection from dancer Whyley on identity, visibility, and what it meant to be handed “…Ready for It?” as a career-defining opportunity. The Eras Tour closes out its final U.S. stops in New Orleans and Indianapolis—loud, emotional, and teetering on the edge of something bigger. Enjoy! Learn more about your ad choices. Conflicting reports surfaced regarding the reasoning behind the decision but the Ravens needed a change of direction. Taylor knows exactly how to devastate her fans with her lyrical storytelling, and “Ruin The Friendship” is the perfect example of that! After about an hour of Sara and Laura recapping their favorite moments and takeaways from The End Of An Era Documentary (Episodes 1-4), the ladies dig into the lore of the song. Taylor's high school experiences and the early 2000's high school moments bring Sara and Laura right back to their own teenage-dom. This is it—the final episode of our partnership with the Church Leadership Institute. It's hard to believe how quickly these years have flown by.In this episode, Tod Bolsinger and Markus Watson look back on what this collaboration has meant, what we've accomplished together, and where the road leads from here.THIS EPSODE'S HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:Markus Watson reflects on starting the podcast during a time of personal transition and describes how the partnership with the Church Leadership Institute began in a providential way.Markus Watson shares that joining the Church Leadership Institute's podcast team was not an answer to a specific prayer, but an unexpected opportunity that resonated with his calling.Tod Bolsinger explains that the Church Leadership Institute started as a place for researching adaptive change while directly working with leaders and practitioners.Leaders benefit most from research that connects theory with real-life contexts, especially in smaller church settings.Churches and leaders need resources that are accessible to smaller congregations, not just large organizations.Tod Bolsinger emphasizes that making adaptive change in smaller churches can feel as difficult as changing one's family of origin.Experimentation, contextual cohorts, and digital platforms proved effective for spreading adaptive leadership resources across diverse church settings.Delivering effective leadership development depends on understanding the specific context of each congregation. You cannot develop adaptive capacity simply by consuming information; leaders must actively practice adaptive work.Tod Bolsinger stresses that you cannot outwork a changing world, highlighting the importance of discernment and adaptability rather than relying solely on hard work.Crisis situations, like the pandemic, require leaders to learn new ways of thinking, rather than applying old solutions to new challenges.Significant changes, such as the rise of telecommuting, political shifts, and technological advances, have rapidly altered the leadership landscape.Tod Bolsinger notes that the main challenge now is developing adaptive capacity in entire congregations, not just among pastors or staff.Developing adaptive discipleship within a congregation requires a shift from programmatic solutions to cultivating a transformative organizational culture.Markus Watson explores experimenting with new podcast formats and continuing conversations with leaders to support spiritual life and leadership growth.Tod Bolsinger charges leaders to embrace a posture of curiosity, prioritizing learning and question-asking over being the “learned expert.”RELEVANT RESOURCES AND LINKS:Church Leadership InstituteRelated episodes:100. We loved episodes 1 and 2, but these latest two episodes gave us sooo much and we can't wait to discuss it with you! Hearing about the gold rep bodysuit, Jessalyn, the behind the scenes of the stage, wardrobe, and tour in general, plus the physical training that Taylor did to prepare for the tour, we were fed during episode 3. Then we got to move on to episode 4 and we finally got the answer to “how did Taylor and Travis actually get together?” Turns out it was Andrea that pushed for Taylor to try out the relationship! Thank you Andrea! On top of the Travis information, the Whyley story (which had us crying), and the Sabrina of it all, episode 4 was a favorite. These were great episodes and we can't wait for the next ones to come out!Don't miss out on more ‘The End of an Era' podcast episodes coming up!
