The royal visit to North America in 1939 by Elizabeth II's parents shone a brutal light on Britain's policy of Appeasement towards Nazi Germany and, a chance encounter on a Canadian luxury liner, helped change the future Queen Mother's life forever. 

As Foreign Secretary in Neville Chamberlain's Cabinet in 1937, Eden didn't believe in appeasing the German and Italian dictatorships or the militaristic Japanese regime. Instead, he wanted to confront their aggression head on. Faced with growing Japanese assertiveness, including the launching of an undeclared war on China in July 1937, Eden appealed to the US for help. He believed sending an Anglo-American naval force to the Western Pacific would demonstrate that the democracies were not spineless, but were prepared to stand up for what they believed in. Was this a viable alternative to Chamberlain's appeasement policy, now notorious for its failure in the face of fascism? In Eden's Alternative to Appeasement: The Anglo-American Strategy that Might Have Been, 1937–38 (Tithebarn Press, 2026), historian Malcolm Murfett tells the story, using a wide range of primary sources from the UK and US archives, of Eden's push to persuade Roosevelt's administration to be more assertive in the Pacific. World War 2 did not begin in 1939 by accident. Mussolini's March on Rome, the Locarno Treaties, the Great Depression, and the Nazi seizure of power turned a fragile recovery into a countdown. The situation in the Middle East was radically transformed as a result of the “Deal” between America and Iran. This Episode explains the reasons for the recent drastic change in President Trump's actions and rhetoric. It stresses the importance of the midterm elections and makes a case for Israel's larger importance in the fight for Western civilization against Jihadist fanaticism.

On Friday's Mark Levin Show, twice as many MAGA Republicans favor regime change in Iran as those preferring a negotiated settlement, with President Trump's supporters overwhelmingly backing the overthrow of Iran's theocratic regime. 51% of MAGA Republicans and 50% of all Republicans support the US installing new leadership there, while only 25% in each group prefer a peace deal. This contradicts the narratives from the Woke Reich. Meanwhile, for 47-years, we did not respond militarily in any real way to the Iranian regime's murder of our military personnel and civilians.  The policy practiced by presidents before Trump was exactly as the isolationists, appeasers, and pacifists demand today and demanded before POTUS attacked Iran's nuclear sites last June and this February. He is the first president to take real military action. Putting aside different views of the MOU, the forever war was and is being fought by an enemy that believes in forever wars.  We certainly haven't fought a forever war against Iran. The result: thousands of Americans maimed and killed.  Later, Zohran Mamdani is an inexperienced young sloganeer who has accomplished nothing, never worked a real day, and acts as a walking communist manifesto spouting empty slogans about working people, affordability, and lowering prices while knowing nothing.  The Marxist experiment is a complete failure that only redistributes wealth without creating it, propped up by prior capitalism. Socialist systems like Canada's are condemned for horrendous outcomes, equal misery, and lack of motivation, while capitalism is praised as spontaneous commerce that rewards harder work, innovation, and better service with success and inequality. DIPLOMATIC FAILURES AND SOVIET INFILTRATION IN 1939 Colleague Charles Spicer. By early 1939, British efforts to maintain peace were hampered by disastrous appointments, specifically the pro-appeasement ambassador Neville Henderson in Berlin and the increasingly irrational and Anglophobic Ribbentrop in London. Intelligence provided by Philip Conwell-Evans and Graham Christie reached Foreign Secretary Halifax, who began to doubt Chamberlain's appeasement policy as he moved closer to Churchill's position. Meanwhile, the Anglo-German Fellowship faced internal contradictions, such as a controversial dinner for a Nazi women's leader, which Halifaxadvised against cancelling to keep communication channels open. The narrative also reveals that left-wing opposition to these efforts was manipulated by Soviet intelligence, as exemplified by "Simon Haxey," the author of Tory MP, who was later exposed as a recruiter for Soviet spies. 5. Western Appeasement of 2014: Crimea Annexation and the Flawed Minsk Accords. Serhii Plokhy (Professor of Ukrainian History at Harvard University) examines the Western reaction to the annexation of Crimea in February 2014, following the appearance of "little green men." Professor Plokhy asserts that had the West reacted to the Crimean annexation with the same severity as they did to the 2022 invasion, the major war might have been avoided. Instead, the collective West treated Crimea as an isolated exception, drawing a historical parallel to the 1930s Anschluss of Austria, and mistakenly believed that Putin would stop there. This flawed assumption led Germany to pursue economic ties like Nord Stream 2, hoping escalation would be less likely. Moreover, NATO's policy was to pacify Russia by not placing military units close to its borders, leaving the alliance with "very little to respond with" in 2014. Although the annexation was quickly followed by Russian-concocted violence in Donbas, leading to a massive Russian counterattack in summer 2014, the West pursued the Minsk II agreements. These agreements were often implemented according to Russia's interpretation: requiring elections first under Russian military control, intended to create a "Trojan horse" to destabilize Ukraine and preclude its movement toward the EU or NATO. 8. The West's 2014 Appeasement: The Failure to Respond to Crimean Annexation. Serhii Plokhy (Professor of Ukrainian History at Harvard University) focuses on the annexation of Crimea in 2014 via "brute force" and the Western response. Professor Plokhy suggests that if NATO's reaction to Crimea had been commensurate with its response to the 2022 invasion, the current large-scale war might have been avoided. Instead, the West treated the annexation as an exception, comparing it to the 1930s Anschluss of Austria, believing Putin would cease aggression after securing the Russian-majority region. This thinking was a mistake; for example, Germany continued pursuing Nord Stream 2, based on the failed premise that economic ties guaranteed peace. NATO's overall policy was designed to pacify Russia and avoid placing military units near its borders, resulting in NATO having "very little to respond with" when the annexation occurred. Russia quickly moved beyond Crimea, concocting uprisings in Donbas, leading to a massive Russian counterattack against Ukrainian forces in the summer of 2014. This led to the Minsk II agreements, which NATO backed. However, Russia exploited Minsk II by insisting on holding elections first under its military control—a plan intended to insert a "Trojan horse" into Ukraine's political body to destabilize it and block its Euro-Atlantic integration.
