It's Mailbag Monday time and today's episode brings us questions about Atlantic Division rivals getting better, how the Malcolm Brogdon version of the Kristaps Porzingis trade would have gone, a "what if?" about Danny Ainge actually trading for Jimmy Butler, and rewriting history where one player makes a different decision to change the league. John Karalis of Boston Sports Journal discusses all of that, tries to fix the game operations and presentation of home games, and explains how he watches a basketball game to see more of the action. Lots of listener questions in this week's Shoot Around… including one big one. Did Rob actually contribute to the NBA Championships that he won? Rob defends his performances in the NBA postseason by saying it's not all about your stat line and says the people that don't think he contributed likely never watched him play. After Gary Payton's appearance on last week's Shoot Around, we revisit whether Seattle should get an NBA team back since that talking point all but vanished in recent years. Plus in light of the Zuckerberg-Musk fight, we ask Rob what NBA players he would like to see fight, and Rob says he'd love to throw down with Danny Ainge. And after Domingo German's perfect game we discuss some of the best single-player performances we've ever watched, and both Rob and Jenners have different nominations. We also joke about how Larsa Pippen's OnlyFans account has suffered since she started dating Marcus Jordan, and what would it take for our wives to have to take down their OnlyFans accounts. Finally we close with two important questions… has Robert Horry ever been fired from a job? And between Steph, LeBron and KD, who would Rob start, bench and cut? Learn more about your ad choices. A caller is all about the Knicks and has had enough of the Aaron Rodgers talk. Boomer does not like pastrami and would take boloney, liverwurst or olive loaf over it. A caller wants to know what animal you shoot to get olive loaf. Jerry returns for another update and starts with sound from last night's Knicks win to send them to the second round of the playoffs. RJ Barrett talked about Obi Toppin stepping up and Josh Hart talked about defending Donovan Mitchell. Knicks fans got together outside the Garden to chant ‘F Phil Jackson'. Giannis said you cannot win every year and it's not a failure if you don't win. He also said there are no failures in sports, just good days and bad days. Aaron Rodgers met the media as did Woody Johnson who talked about the culture the coach and GM built to bring Rodgers here. Rodgers was impressed last year when the Jets ‘smoked' them. The NFL Draft begins tonight and Rangers/Devils game 5 in NJ. The Mets lost again and struck out 15 times. The Yankees finally beat the Twins. Aaron Judge was thrown out at third and hurt his hand but he said he's fine. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about the upcoming series between the Knicks and Heat and how Jimmy Butler will be a huge factor. A caller is happy Danny Ainge was a douchebag and we didn't end up getting Donovan Mitchell for the Knicks.
Hour 1: Boomer & Gio are pumped for the Knicks and their fans after beating the Cavaliers in five games. They get the Heat in round two starting Sunday. Boomer is wearing an Aaron Rodgers jersey and is equally excited for Rangers/Devils game 5 tonight in NJ. The Knicks are actually playing defense and it's paying off in the playoffs. Gio said it's been embarrassing to be a Knicks fan since the 1990's but it's not embarrassing any more. He is proud to be a Knicks fan now. Julius Randle re-injured his ankle last night. Most impressive was the Knicks got contributions from everybody. Gio called it ‘a pinch me morning'. Boomer said Aaron Rodgers needs to turn into Jalen Brunson. Jerry is here for his first update and starts with audio from last night's Knicks game. Tom Thibodeau talked about the guys that stepped up. Donovan Mitchell was not happy with his performance in the series. The Heat won in dramatic fashion and will now face the Knicks starting Sunday. Giannis has a great answer to a reporter who asked if his season was a failure. Aaron Rodgers met the media and has big goals for the Mets. Rodgers clearly loves working with Nathaniel Hackett. He also talked about having bad cell service at his home in California and needed the Packers to Facetime him, which they didn't. Rangers/Devils game 5 is tonight in NJ. We also talked about the NFL Draft which is tonight and we specifically talked about the QBs. The Yankees beat the Twins. Aaron Judge hurt his hand sliding into third but he seems to be acting like he's ok. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about the upcoming Knicks/Heat series. Tom Thibodeau and Jimmy Butler don't get along so this could be interesting. What a time we're in. Aaron Rodgers is the Jets QB and the Knicks are in the second round of the playoffs. Hour 2: Gio is having nostalgia for the Knicks/Heat series. We played Big Zoo's reaction video where he's singing ‘Go NY, Go NY, Go'. Hour 3: The only bad thing to come out of the Knicks game is Julius Randle re-injuring his ankle but it actually doesn't seem like a huge deal to the Knicks. We talked about the upcoming series against the Heat which starts on Sunday at 1pm. Gio got an invite for the Islanders game on Friday night but his wife's family is coming into town and he has to hang out with them. Jerry returns for an update but first we talked about Big Zoo and Gallo getting a show for next week overnight. Jerry started with the Knicks beating the Cavaliers and the Heat beating the Bucks. Aaron Rodgers met the media and Woody Johnson asked for a round of applause. Aaron Rodgers asked Woody for a handshake. So it was all a bit awkward. The NFL Draft begins tonight as does game 5 between the Rangers and Devils. Once again the Mets had no offense in another loss to the Nationals. The Yankees won and Anthony Rizzo said Aaron Judge likes to hit on his birthday. Aaron Boone was asked about Judge's hand injury and said, ‘we'll see'. In the final segment of the hour, Anthony Gallo comes in to give us his take on Knicks/Heat. We also talked about the ‘Heat culture'. Hour 4: The Knicks/Heat series will be Sunday, Tuesday and then not again until Saturday. Boomer is confident but respectful for tonight's Rangers/Devils game. Gio is wondering how Nets fans feel now, because they were rubbing it in to Knicks fans when they got Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Jerry is here for his final update and starts with the Knicks beating Cleveland in five. Donovan Mitchell put a lot of it on his shoulders. We also talked about winning a 50/50 at a charity event and the pressure to donate it all back if you win. The Heat came back to beat the Bucks and they will now face the Knicks starting Sunday. Shaun Morash sings Creedence Clearwater Revival ‘Have You Ever Seen The Rain'. Aaron Rodgers met the media and talked about his goals with the Jets. Aaron Judge had 3 RBIs on his birthday but did hurt his hand sliding into third base. In the final segment of the show, ESPN's Marly Rivera has been fired for calling another reporter the ‘C-word'. Everything we heard from Aaron Rodgers at the press conference yesterday Boomer has been telling us for months. Gio said Bryce Young will go number one. Boomer said Frank Reich likes a bigger QB so Boomer thinks it could be somebody else.

March Madness is in full swing and, in 1981, Danny Ainge experienced his "one shining moment” in the NCAA Tournament when he scored with two seconds left on the clock, helping BYU advance to the Elite Eight. It was the highlight of a remarkable college basketball career, but only the beginning of his professional career in sports. Still, Ainge doesn't take credit for his success. He insists that the Lord has placed angels—ordinary people setting an extraordinary example—along his path to help him every step of the way. In this episode, we talk about the power of positive influences in our lives that guide our paths and why Ainge believes the people we surround ourselves with have the ability to make all the difference. “There have been angels waiting for me, directing me.” —Danny Ainge Show Notes 2:09- Love of Basketball 3:37- BYU 6:13- Decisions Decisions 8:22- A Great Wife 10:33- A Polarizing Character 18:07- Striving for Balance 21:40- Maintaining Standards 24:03- Taking a Step Back 28:47- Returning to Utah 32:32- “I Do Not Know The Meaning of All Things” 34:23- Angels Among Us 36:34- What Does It Mean To Be All In the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Danny Ainge in an ESPN article clearly stated the Utah Jazz trade deadline goals. The Jazz aren't going to make a move to move from 10th to 7th but they are willing to add pieces that will help long term. David Locke, radio voice of the Utah Jazz and Jazz NBA Insider, takes a look at who those young pieces might be and if the Jazz approach to this is the right approach considering how the Jazz season has gone so far. The Jazz are beginning to run into some developmental costs. The desire to play Walker Kessler and Ochai Abaji is putting Will Hardy in some lineup binds and it is hurting the Jazz chances to win night in and night out. Late Game watch from Locke. Today he looks at the Los Angeles Clippers, the New York Knicks, The New Orleans Pelicans, Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings and Miami Heat Locked On Jazz Podcast
