Broadband network operator, SIRO, has announced that its fibre-to-the-premise broadband network (full fibre) has now passed 700,000 premises and is available in towns and cities in every county in Ireland. The milestone of its network reaching 700,000 premises is part of a wider national objective of creating a full fibre Ireland by 2028. However, with more than 85% of all Irish premises now able to access full fibre broadband, SIRO has called for the switching off Ireland's existing, outdated copper broadband network to be fast-tracked. SIRO's Fibre Broadband Network Passes 700,000 The 700, 000th premises passed by SIRO's network is Bray-based print and embroidery specialist, Visual Print. The company was established in 2001 and offers a wide range of printing services, catering to both small and large volume orders. It specialises in direct screen printing, DTF printing and garment embroidery, operating from two warehouse in the Solus Industrial Estate in Bray, employing a staff of 11. Fibre broadband connectivity is a critical enabler of Visual Print's operations used for transferring large design files, online ordering platforms, maintaining networked printers and Cloud-based print management. While Visual Print has switched off its copper-based broadband and moved to SIRO's full fibre broadband, a worrying high number of Irish businesses are yet to make the move. Comreg data indicates that only 12% of business using broadband have a full fibre connection. Fibre to the Premise broadband is accepted as offering faster speeds and a more reliable and resilient connection than copper which can be slower, less dependable and more vulnerable to both storms and cybersecurity issues. Switching off Ireland's existing, outdated copper broadband network will ensure the national standard of connectivity enjoys greater resiliency, is future-proofed, and better equipped to support Ireland withstand challenges such as climate change or the impacts of the current global energy crisis. The process of copper switch off is gathering pace across Europe, with switch off completed or well advanced in France, Spain and Sweden and the U.K.'s commencing next January. However, Ireland does not yet have a national target date for when switch off will start or complete, even though the conditions for beginning the process now exist. This continued reliance on a broadband technology no longer fit for purpose, notwithstanding full fibre alternatives, leave Irish businesses exposed in areas such as the adoption of AI and other new technologies, productivity and profitability. Commenting on Visual Print's recent connection to SIRO's network, Paul Doyle, Managing Director of Visual Print, said: "Since establishing Visual Print more than twenty-five years ago, we have continued to invest in our equipment, facilities and services to ensure we can meet the needs of our customers as the business has grown. "With SIRO's fibre broadband, we have seen a significant improvement in how we manage and process orders internally. Faster, more reliable connectivity has streamlined communication between our team, improved file handling and workflow efficiency, and allows us to provide quicker updates and more accurate lead times to our customers. This has had a direct and positive impact on both our productivity and overall customer experience." Commenting on the milestone, John Keaney, SIRO CEO, said: "Our network now reaching more than 700,000 homes and businesses is another significant milestone for SIRO, while also actively contributing to the overall national objective of a full fibre Gigabit Ireland by 2028. "Reliable and future proofed full fibre broadband connectivity is a key foundation for the continued growth and productivity of Irish business. "As Visual Print's experience demonstrates, switching off copper and switching on to fibre broadband, delivers tangible benefits for Irish business. "Equally, as the global energy crisis continues, more businesses a...

Broadband network operator, SIRO, has concluded an agreement with broadband retailer, Imagine, which will give the retailer access to SIRO's full fibre network. The deal will allow Imagine to sell fibre broadband products and services to over 700,000 residential consumers across Ireland who have existing access to the SIRO network. SIRO's network now reaches over 150 towns and cities in every county in Ireland as it continues to roll out its network. As a wholesale network operator, SIRO partners with broadband retailers, such as Imagine, who resell its network to residential and business customers. The agreement enhances Imagine's offering to provide an extensive fibre to the home (FTTH) network across Ireland and complements their ambitious plans to significantly grow its customer base. In addition to providing access to SIRO's fibre network, new and existing Imagine customers will enjoy SIRO's high-quality, high-speed fibre broadband offering speeds of up to 5 gigabits for residential consumers. SIRO's broadband network is built with a capacity of up to 25 gigabits, ensuring that it is primed and future-proofed to meet bandwidth requirements as they grow over time. Commenting on the agreement, SIRO Chief Commercial Officer Ronan Whelan noted that: "Today's partnership is good news for Imagine customers, ensuring they can enjoy SIRO's fast, reliable and trusted fibre broadband. "As a leading Irish fibre broadband operator, SIRO has a track record of partnering with retailers to provide high-quality broadband services to consumers. "We are pleased to continue this approach with Imagine. It has a strong reputation for customer service and excellence, and this aligns with SIRO's value of prioritising and delivering for end users. Imagine Commercial Director, Glenda Brady, stated that: "This partnership with SIRO allows Imagine to bring high-quality full-fibre broadband into more towns and cities across Ireland, complementing our existing network and expanding our footprint so we can double our customer base. "For us, fibre isn't just about faster speeds; it is about doing broadband properly and giving Irish people a genuine alternative. Customers want reliability, clarity and pricing they can trust, not short-term deals that change after a year. "At Imagine, we've taken a long-term view. Our fibre plans come with one clear price, frozen until the end of 2030, and the flexibility to leave anytime. Partnering with SIRO means we can extend that approach to more homes and businesses, giving people access to fast, dependable fibre without the uncertainty that has come to define the market." In this episode, Philippe Zuber, CEO of Kerzner International, joins Anant Sharma to explore how one of the world's most ambitious hospitality groups approaches growth without dilution. From Atlantis and One&Only to the launch of SIRO and Rare Finds, Philippe shares how Kerzner thinks about luxury as an ecosystem — where emotion, memory and habit matter more than transactions or points. They discuss why restraint can be a strategic advantage, how loyalty is earned through return rather than reward, and why the future of luxury depends as much on what brands refuse to do as what they pursue. A conversation about scale, discipline, and the real cost of getting luxury wrong.

In this episode of Shift Into Profit, Jason Harris sits down with Jake Cronin to break down one of the biggest missing pieces in dealership performance: measuring and coaching the in-person customer conversation. Dealerships invest heavily in training, process, and technology — yet most still rely on gut instinct to determine whether those processes are actually being followed. That gap leads to missed revenue, inconsistent customer experiences, compliance risk, and a revolving door of talent. This episode dives deep into why people still buy from people, why face-to-face interactions matter more than ever, and how modern process intelligence tools are reshaping dealership profitability — without replacing the human element. If you're a dealer principal, GM, fixed ops leader, or sales manager looking to improve performance without adding friction, this is a must-watch. Catch Siro at NADA: North Expo Hall — Booth 6368N
Most dealerships think they have a process. Very few can actually prove it's being followed. In this episode of Shift Into Profit, Jason Harris sits down with Gavin Janis Siro.ai to break down one of the biggest blind spots in automotive retail: confusing checklists with real process management. Dealers spend massive time and money getting customers into the showroom—but once the conversation starts, performance is often measured with nothing more than gut feel, assumptions, or outdated check-the-box reviews. If you manage sales, F&I, or dealership operations—and you care about consistency, compliance, customer experience, and profit—this episode will challenge how you think about process.

Wholesale broadband operator SIRO has announced it is launching a bespoke broadband product created for developers building new homes across Ireland. SIRO's new product, OpenPort, will streamline the delivery of fibre broadband services to housing developments by instead providing a shared access broadband infrastructure on-site. This will avoid, as currently occurs, the costly overduplication of telecom infrastructures amongst multiple operators seeking to provide services to new housing estates. Under forthcoming regulations, the Gigabit Infrastructure Act, which will take effect in Ireland from February 2026, developers are required to provide a fibre broadband infrastructure on-site, which is accessible to multiple telecoms network operators. SIRO's new product, OpenPort, responds to this requirement by providing developers with a shared access fibre broadband service for their new developments, which will be compliant with these regulations. Currently, to enable multiple operators to serve a housing development, developers have been required to accommodate multiple broadband infrastructures on-site. The negative impact of this method of rolling out fibre broadband in new developments has been the unnecessary duplication of broadband infrastructure on-site. This can lead to not only excessive expenditure, but also the avoidable use of limited site space to facilitate these multiple infrastructures. With SIRO's OpenPort, developers will still be able to accommodate multiple fibre broadband operators on their developments, but with the advantage of using a single network infrastructure, substantially reducing the cost of deploying fibre broadband networks to new homes across the country. A developer moving to SIRO's OpenPort product will also enjoy environmental benefits by reducing the construction works needed to facilitate fibre broadband rollouts. For homeowners and tenants, they will continue to enjoy choice and competition by maintaining access to multiple telecoms retailers. SIRO has announced that its first OpenPort new development site will be at Monaleen in Limerick city. The development, known as The Orchard, is being constructed by one of Ireland's leading developers, Homeland, and will see 131 new homes constructed at the site. These homes are expected to have first occupancy by Spring 2026. With Homeland Group's The Orchard development, the first new development to adopt OpenPort, SIRO has confirmed that the product will be available to all developers from 2026 onwards. Commenting on OpenPort, SIRO CEO John Keaney said: "Delivering fast and future-proofed fibre broadband infrastructure and services to new homes is a small but essential part of the construction of new homes overall. A high-quality fibre-to-the-home broadband connection is now a non-negotiable for all homes, supporting how we now live and work. "Like all the component parts of developing new homes, rolling out fibre broadband infrastructure comes at a cost - environmental, financial, resource and time - to broadband operators, developers and consumers." "Initiatives, like OpenPort, which can streamline the delivery process, reduce the timelines, and maintain efficiency and effectiveness of building fibre broadband networks in new developments, are key. By reducing overduplication of broadband networks on new development sites, SIRO's OpenPort will also give back much-needed site space to developers and provide wider sustainability benefits. "SIRO is excited to bring this product to market for developers from next year. We have already had incredibly positive feedback from key stakeholders in the construction industry who understand the benefits it can offer," added Mr Keaney. Homeland Construction Director Mike Quaid added: "Homeland has worked with SIRO to deliver fibre broadband to our new homes across the country for several years now. The construction industry is constantly challenged to innovate, build more sustainably and efficiently, wh...

Speaking on the announcement, John Keaney, SIRO Chief Executive Officer, said: "We are delighted to bring SIRO's 100% fibre broadband to Tipperary Town, enabling more than 2,000 premises to access reliable gigabit connectivity. For businesses, world-class broadband is critical, supporting growth, digitalisation, and competitiveness. With copper switch-off now on the horizon, SIRO's full fibre network ensures that Tipperary Town is ready for the future."

Tipperary County Council has provided an additional €774,000 in funding." John Keaney, SIRO Chief Executive Officer, commented: "REACH is a fantastic addition to Roscrea, providing businesses with a state-of-the-art space to work, collaborate, and grow. Through our partnership with SIRO, REACH will offer seamless fibre broadband that enables entrepreneurs, SMEs, and remote workers to stay connected, productive, and competitive in today's world."

Fibre broadband network operator, SIRO, and Kerry and Munster broadband retailer, Ivertec, have announced the rollout of a 10 Gigabit broadband service in Killarney. SIRO's first 10 Gigabit connection in the region. The service is designed to enhance Ivertec's existing fibre broadband offering to its significant business customer base. The 10 Gigabit service allows Ivertec to offer Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) services and improved capacity to local businesses, particularly those in the hospitality and retail sectors, where the need for fast and reliable connectivity is essential. Critically, the circuit also serves as a resilient backup route for Ivertec's national network. This means that if an issue occurs on the network, there is a backup connection in place to ensure that end-user businesses do not experience disruption. The foundation underpinning Ivertec's expanded offering to Kerry and Munster businesses is SIRO's 100% fibre network, delivering symmetrical speeds. The latter means that businesses can enjoy the same level of upload and download speeds, which can be essential for business-critical operations such as video conferencing or uploading data to the Cloud. 10 Gigabit fibre broadband will not only allow Ivertec to meet the needs of its customers today but will also ensure that they can seamlessly continue to provide greater bandwidth and speeds to local businesses, as the latter's data demands grow into the future. Aoife O'Reilly, SIRO's Head of Enterprise, commented: SIRO is pleased to partner with Ivertec on 10 Gigabit fibre broadband for its Kerry and Munster customers. The partnership supports growing demand from businesses for dependable, high-speed and future-proofed connectivity. It reflects our shared focus on strengthening digital infrastructure in regional areas." Gerard O'Sullivan, Ivertec CEO, said: "We're delighted to enhance fibre connectivity in Killarney with the launch of a new 10Gb circuit from SIRO. This circuit provides a fully diverse fibre path into our network in the region, complementing our existing backhaul connection between Kerry and Dublin. In the event of any disruption to our primary fibre route, the SIRO circuit ensures uninterrupted service for our customers in the area. This additional layer of resilience is vital for delivering high-availability internet and VoIP services - particularly for the many local businesses that depend on Ivertec for reliable connectivity every day."
It's time for The Truth!Today, Sam and Dougie are looking at Serie A, and examining just how tight the race for the title is between Antonio Conte's Napoli and Simone Inzaghi's Inter - with both teams on 71 points with five games remaining in the league campaign. We discuss the distinct possibility of a playoff game between the two at the end of the season, a one-game shootout to determine who lifts that famous trophy in May.Then there's a deeper dive into both teams - the chaos that seems to always engulf Napoli has gone nowhere under the stewardship of Antonio Conte, with fiery pre-match interviews just the norm at this point in the city on the verges of Vesuvius. But that's sometimes a good thing, and with Scott Francis McTominay banging in important goal after important goal, and Romelu Lukaku leading the Serie A assist charts, you'd have to say it's working. Over in Milan, the Nerazzurri seem to be running out of puff at exactly the wrong point of the season. With their hopes of a treble dashed, is there a chance that they end up trophyless in what had looked to be a historic season in blue and black? Is their incredibly busy schedule catching up with them, and how do they wrest back control? Napoli or Inter? Decided in the normal way or with an extraordinary one-off event? And are the twists and turns done yet in Italy? Well, The Truth is somewhere in the middle... Hello Rank Squad! It's time for this week's second Champions League Takeaway - looking back at Wednesday's Quarter Final second legs, where Arsenal and Inter were able to maintain their first leg advantages to progress to the semi-finals, but in very different circumstances. Dean is back in San Diego and back in the booth, so we start with Arsenal winning 2-1 at the Bernabeu to knock out the holders Real Madrid 5-1 on aggregate, reaching their first semi-final since 2009 in the process, and starting what could be a long period of self-reflection for Los Blancos. It was a game full of drama, but one which Arsenal controlled, and they were worthy winners both on the night and over the two legs. Then in Part Two, we head to San Siro, where a full-blooded, full-throttle affair between Inter and Bayern Munich ended in a 2-2 draw, sending Inter through to the final four with a 4-3 aggregate win. We explore why Inter are so good at getting back up when they've been punched, and how their experience in the dugout helped them see out this tie with another very impressive performance both defensively and offensively. It's Ranks! And remember, if you'd like more from the Rank Squad, including extra podcasts every Monday and Friday (including our weekly Postbox taking a look at the whole weekend of football) and access to our brilliant Discord community, then why not join us here on Patreon?

Hello Rank Squad! You heard the music, and we're back in Champions League mode as the newest era of the competition gets underway with the new Swiss League stage replacing the old group stages. The first day brought us plenty of goals, and plenty of talking points, and Jack and Dean are here to discuss all of them with you after the first six games of this matchweek. We start with Liverpool's trip to Milan, where Arne Slot's Reds were able to put the ghosts of Nottingham Forest behind them on the way to what was a comprehensive and important win at San Siro; before moving onwards to discuss the 9-2 hammering that Bayern Munich handed out to Dinamo Zagreb, and the game between Sporting CP and Lille OSC in Lisbon. In Part Two, we start with Real Madrid's 3-1 victory over VfB Stuttgart, which was very much not as easy on the Bernabeu pitch as it looked on paper, before discussing Aston Villa's successful trip to Bern, where they beat Young Boys 3-0 despite an artificial surface, and Juventus' crucial 3-1 win over PSV Eindhoven, which might have been the best performance of the season yet from Thiago Motta's new-look Bianconeri! We'll be back on Thursday to wrap up the action from the next two days of UCL action, so we'll see you very soon. It's Ranks! And remember, if you'd like more from the Rank Squad, including extra podcasts every Monday and Friday (including our weekly Postbox taking a look at the whole weekend of football) and access to our brilliant Discord community, then why not join us here on Patreon?
