(https://atgridiron.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/ATG-Luc.png) Luc enjoyed a 9 year career in the CFL with the majority of that as part of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He also spent time with the Montreal Alouettes and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He was a late bloomer in football, not starting until late in high school. Despite his late start to the game, he excelled quickly and became one of the top recruiting prospects in Canada. He ultimately chose to attend Michigan State University in part due to its close proximity to his home in Toronto. Being young he wasn’t totally ready for what was in store for him playing college football at that level. Going to that program as a Canadian was a bit of an eye opener for him. It took time for him to adjust and mature as a young man. Loosing Nick Saban as the coach had an effect on the program which brought in a lot of talented players but could not seem to translate that into wins. From there he went on to be drafted by the Riders, the one team in the CFL he did NOT want to be drafted by. Not even up to the day before training camp was he sure if he would report to the team. He did decide to go and has obviously had a change of heart for the team and province of Saskatchewan. He again had an adjustment period at the start of his career, not being fully committed to playing and doing all that is needed to be a high performing professional. The 2007 season is when he turned the corner, with the help of some of the veterans on the team that showed him how to be a professional. That season ended with a Grey Cup championship. He contemplated retirement his last 3 seasons in the league. He decided to set roots back in Saskatchewan where he started out as a Financial Advisor. After initial success, he struggled and looked for another career path. He wanted to find something that he was passionate about and he found that with the Canadian Red Cross. He’s also fed his love of football by being a part of Sports Cage and Riderville.com. For more information about Luc and to connect with him, please follow the links below. Well, that was a few days. Joel Gasson and John Fraser discuss what turned out to be a very eventful weekend and start to the new week in Riderville. Starting with the release of Duron Carter, which still has people talking across Saskatchewan and even the country. Was it the right move? Could it have been handled better? If that wasn't enough, Rob Bagg is back! Except, what should have been a field good story seems to be getting weirder by the minute and is leaving more questions than answers. In the end, all of this revolves around a theme that has followed this team all season, does Chris Jones wear too many hats? Can he adequately do all of his jobs? As always, thanks to the shows title sponsors Pile O' Bones Brewing and don't forget to subscribe to the 3Down Green Cast on iTunes and Google Play.
