#UFC254 #G.O.A.T. #Khabib #NFL We had a great conversation breaking down the UFC 254 that featured Khabbib Nurmagomedov getting a huge victory and then subsequently retired. His complete dominance of Justin Gaethje in this lightweight title fight was surprising to most. Khabib's father Abdulmanap died in July from complications related to Covid-19 at 57 years old. He was Khabib's long time coach and trainer among many other top fighters. Once the fight was over he took off his gloves and said that he had promised his mother that he was going to retire now his dad was gone. We had a lot of fun getting into this fight and the rest of a great card. We brokedown week 7 of the NFL which featured a great battle of two unbeaten teams in the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Tennessee Titans, It was a tale of two halfs as the Steelers dominated early and then the Titans flipped the script and almost came all the way back. They would have forced overtime if their kicker Stephen Gostkowski would have nailed the 47 yard field goal at the end of the game. We also broke down the incredible NFC West battle between Seattle and Arizona that was an overtime shootout. It was a nationally televised late Sunday game and had an incredible amount of amazing plays and when the Cards finally hit a field goal late in overtime to hand the Hawks their first loss of the season. There was a lot of things to discuss in the other matchups as well. We ended the episode giving kudos and our condolensces to David Braley the long time owner and interim commissioner in the CFL just passed away at 79 years old. He was a legend and owned the BC. LIons for 24 years and also owned the Hamilton Tiger Cats and Toronto Argos at different times. He will be sorely missed from football in this country. Enjoy Take care, Love yah, Bye for now!

Mark played 2 seasons in the Canadian Football League, all with the Edmonton Eskimos. He was a late bloomer, not starting football until high school. He played hockey and baseball growing up, but football was his best sport. He decided to go to McMaster University in large part due to their kinesiology program as well as the opportunity to play quickly. He enjoyed a great career there winning the Yates Cup and narrowly loosing the Vanier Cup to the University of Montreal. Making the Eskimos was a thrill for him and in his 1st game registered a sack versus the Toronto Argos, with his family and friends there to watch. He is now in medical school at Western University, and may possibly look to become a team doctor to stay involved in the game he loves. Time will tell. For more on Mark, use the links below. Joe Montford is one of the greatest defensive players to ever play in the CFL. He played 12 seasons spending time with the Shreveport Pirates, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Toronto Argos and Edmonton Eskimos. His career was almost cut short while at the University of South Carolina State. He sustained an injury during a game that left him partially paralyzed. Despite his injury, he never wavered in his belief that he would return to the game he loved. He did return to the field, however his injury scared-off NFL teams from selecting him for the draft. He ended up signing with the Pirates of the CFL which is where his career began. A position change to defensive-end is where his career took off and he became the dominant force that he was. After leaving the game, he transitioned to working with abused children as a counsellor. He also did some coaching as well, but that all kept him away from his family which he didn't like. So he decided to start a landscaping company which is what he's doing now. For more on Joe, follow the links below. (https://atgridiron.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/ATG-Yuri.png) James enjoyed an 8 year career in the CFL playing with the BC Lions and Toronto Argos. Inspired by watching his older brother, he started playing football once he got to highschool. He didn’t think of football as a potential career until his grade 12 year when he excelled on the field and got attention from schools across the country. He decided to go to Bishop’s University where he would get a chance to spread his wings and have some independence. There was a lot of talent at the school which showed in the number of players drafted from the team. His draft day experience was great having his family with him as he got the call from BC as the 4th pic in the draft. But as he put it, that’s when the real work started. Going to an established team like the Lions makes it tough to earn a spot on the team, even for a 1st round selection. The stresses of training camp even led him to dust off his bible for some encouragement and inspiration! He did make the team and enjoyed 4 seasons with them which included winning a Grey Cup in 2011. Having the chance to play at home, he signed with the Argos as a free agent. That was kind of the genesis of his after football life. His girlfriend at the time, who comes from sunny Brazil, would need some outerwear to endure the winter cold of Toronto. Not being able to find something satisfactory, he actually made her a jacket! That was the start of what is now Wuxly Movement. Being an animal lover, the apparel is made animal free and manufactured right here in Canada. (https://atgridiron.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/ATG-Moreale.png) Mike enjoyed a 12 year career playing in the CFL with the Toronto Argos and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. His early years were spent playing mostly soccer which he credits for a lot of his success in football. He went to University at his hometown school, McMaster, where he developed into an outstanding player. He won a Grey Cup in his home town of Hamilton, with the Toronto Argos in 1996 and for his hometown team 3 years later. He won the Top Pate award in 2000 for his work in the community which was instilled in him by his parents to be kind and generous to others. After his playing days, he spent time with the CLFPA working in Marketing and later as the head of the CFLPA. He is now the CEO of the new Canadian Elite Basketball League which is scheduled to begin in May of 2019.
