Hosts Alex Kirry and Dan Jimenez jam during this F1 mini vacation talking ab out the Singapore GP, guess how the WDC and Constructors titles will end up. Daniel Ricciardo is unceremoniously stripped of his seat at RB/VCARD and it looks as though the Honey Badger might be totally done in the sport. McLaren and Lando Norris have found something extra that could put him over the top vs. Max in the driver's championship but will there be enough time to catch the reigning 3X champion? Ferrari had a disasterous Singapore and Mercedes doesn't appear to have what it takes to take the next step to keep contending this season. McLaren is currently the team to beat. Plus, the race in Austin looms at COTA this month. This could be an exciting final stretch of the season.
This week we are back to recap the Singapore GP. We also had to cover some major driver news to the grid. Of course we weren't short on the nonsense this week. Enjoy!

It was an emotional Singapore GP for Daniel Ricciardo, with strong rumours circulating at the time it may have been his final race in Formula 1. Today we got the confirmation from RB that the team will be switching drivers for the United States Grand Prix as Liam Lawson takes over for the rest of the 2024 season. Ben Hunt and Stuart Codling join Bryn Lucas to discuss whether or not Red Bull was right to move on from Ricciardo immediately, whether the team treated Ricciardo unfairly, and what to expect from Lawson as he returns to the sport. There's also discussion on the potential knock-on effect the move could have on Sergio Perez, whose future remains up in the air, and chat on the Singapore GP as a whole, with Lando Norris dominating up front, and some optimism in the Red Bull camp as Max Verstappen returned to the podium. Before rubber even met concrete for the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix, Formula 1 was buzzing with news about the future of Daniel Ricciardo and the FIA's new guidelines around profanity on and off track. McLaren have shown the constructors title is theirs to lose after a dominate performance from Lando Norris. Can he also win the drivers title? --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thegrandstandf1/support

In the Marina Bay paddock, Tom Clarkson, F1 Correspondent and Presenter Lawrence Barretto and Sam Power from Australia's Channel 10 react to a dominant Lando Norris victory at the Singapore Grand Prix. Was the McLaren driver's 20-second winning margin a message to the world, himself, McLaren or championship rival Max Verstappen about what he's capable of? Or perhaps all of the above? And how much confidence will Norris take from a much better race start? Lando's race engineer Will Joseph joins the pod to discuss how they produced such a formidable performance and how the whole team are rallying together for his title challenge. Plus, was Singapore Daniel Ricciardo's last race in Formula 1? Lawrence tells us what it was like to interview a rather emotional Daniel after the Grand Prix and the guys discuss why Franco Colapinto could be a great option for Red Bull in the near future after the Argentine enjoyed another impressive weekend for Williams. The 2024 Singapore Grand Prix - was this Daniel Ricciardo's last Formula 1 race? If so, it's unfair that Ricciardo and his legion of fans didn't get a chance to bid him a proper farewell at a race and on-track. Truthfully, a decision doesn't seem to be have been made; and Red Bull's driver move could be more towards retaining Liam Lawson for the long term, than dropping Daniel Ricciardo. And of course, Ricciardo's performances have been wanting, no doubt. Also, the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix was another stand-out event, but not so much so the racing itself. McLaren's Lando Norris dominated every day of the race weekend; also, he went unchallenged, by his rivals and his team-mate, Oscar Piastri. If Ferrari hadn't bottled qualifying, maybe they could've taken the fight to the McLarens, unlike Red Bull Racing-Max Verstappen who were thrilled to qualify and finish second. Red Bull Racing cheekily used Racing Bull's Ricciardo to take the "fastest lap" of the race away from Norris, thereby taking away a key championship point. It's all within the rules and regulations, but against the spirit of the sport? The trio, Soumil Arora, @f1statsguru and Kunal Shah discuss the various stories from Singapore, including Max Verstappen's win against the FIA's silly punishments. Tune in! Rosanna Tennant, McLaren Formula E driver, Sam Bird, and Harry Benjamin reflect on the Singapore GP. The team discuss Lando Norris' victory, and hear from the Brit. We also hear from Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri, plus ask whether this will be Daniel Ricciardo's last race.
Edd Straw and Mark Hughes (both in Singapore) are joined by Scott Mitchell-Malm to review the Singapore Grand Prix, and a race in which Lando Norris left his rivals in his wheel tracks. They explain why Norris and McLaren were so quick and whether this win really does mean a title tilt is now a realistic possibility. They also discuss, amongst other topics, the community service order Max Verstappen was handed for swearing (and his subsequent protest), and an emotional weekend for Daniel Ricciardo, which could go down as his last in F1.
