The F1 2025 season has delivered shock wins, heartbreaking losses and career-defining moments—and we're only halfway through.Climb the ladder with me on Patreon: https://patreon.com/lawvsSurprise podiums and unexpected championship leaders to teams struggling at the back of the grid, the first 12 races of the Formula 1 2025 season have given fans plenty to talk about. Oscar Piastri is leading the charge in only his third season, while George Russell's leadership at Mercedes and Nico Hulkenberg's long-awaited podium have turned heads across the paddock. Alex Albon's comeback at Williams and Isack Hadjar's rise for Red Bull are good in my book. On the other hand, Lando Norris is hanging on in the title race despite a rollercoaster yearThe other end of the spectrum is full of tough luck and tough questions. Carlos Sainz's move to Williams isn't paying off, Alpine is stuck at the back with a car that refuses to cooperate and even Fernando Alonso felt the pressure so far this year. Mercedes is already ripe for speculation...but now are we witnessing a turning point for Kimi Antonelli? Why isn't Toto Wolff nipping the rumours in the bud amidst the Verstappen talk?Climb the ladder with me on Patreon: https://patreon.com/lawvsToto Wolff's long-term plan for Kimi Antonelli is being questioned as rumours swirl around 2026. After a string of tough DNFs and mounting speculation about a possible Max Verstappen move to the Mercedes team, talk is starting to grow around KIMI being moved out instead of George Russell; who had been the talk of the town in that department. How has this happened? Mercedes' silence is fueling transfer gossip and self-doubt for their handpicked young star. With the spotlight on George Russell and growing talk of loan deals, the stakes are high for Mercedes as they try to shape their next era. Should Mercedes actually sign Max Verstappen, it would mean that not George Russell, but rather Kimi Antonelli would have to make way. The Italian would be loaned out to Alpine if this were to happen while Russell and Verstappen drive for the works team.
With 12 races completed and 12 still to go, we're halfway through what has been a spectacular 2025 season. Former Renault driver and F1TV commentator, Jolyon Palmer, and F1 correspondent Lawrence Barretto, join Tom Clarkson to discuss what we've learnt from the first half of the year and what we can expect from the second half. With Laurent Mekies replacing Christian Horner as Red Bull Team Principal and CEO, what's on his to-do list? Can he persuade Max Verstappen to stay with the team? And will he be able to rejuvenate Yuki Tsunoda and resolve their second car issues? Oscar Piastri leads Lando Norris by eight points at the top of the Drivers' Standings. But after two wins on the bounce for Lando, who goes into the second half of this epic title fight with more momentum? And where will this title be won and lost over the next 12 races? Also up for debate: are Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton starting to turn a corner with their car? Can they fight for a race victory after a winless season so far? And is the uncertainty around his Mercedes future actually ‘galvanising' George Russell? Plus, after scoring more points than Red Bull in the last four races, could Sauber challenge Williams for P5 in the Constructors' Championship? They had no champagne for Nico! After a decade in the sport, where neither Nico Hulkenberg and Sauber had made it to the podium, the team decided there was no need to lug champagne around the world. But a thrilling, rainy race at Silverstone gave them a reason to celebrate. Plus! The old men, Nico Hulkenberg, Lewis Hamilton, and Fernando Alonso all deliver while the rookies falter. That self-inflicted penalty on Oscar Piastri. Will it cost him the championship? Driver moves! Is Yuki out? Is Bottas back in? Will Mercedes really drop $500 million (or more) to get Max Verstappen? And what of George Russell? (Recorded before the bombshell news of Christian Horner's firing.)It took a few races more than expected but Lewis Hamilton is now outperforming teammate Charles Leclerc at Ferrari. Welcome to the post-race LIVE show. Needless to say that our heads are spinning after an epic British Grand Prix this Sunday at Silverstone. A big win for Lando Norris, a small disappointment for Oscar Piastri, but a major milestone for Nico Hulkenberg and team Sauber. Let's go! Share you thoughts in the comments below. Was Norris gifted a win by the FIA? How did Hulkenberg score his first podium - was it on merit? Did we see an emotional Piastri for the first time when he shamelessly asked for a swap with Norris? How did race tyre strategy unravel for Charles Leclerc & George Russell, also another retirement for Mercedes & Andrea Kimi Antonelli. And finally, was the FIA fair in penalising Piastri? And did they discuss this with the drivers in the briefing before setting a new precedent in race penalties? And for those who thought the Safety Car did more racing, in the first half of the race, boy did we get a show, including the position swaps by Lewis Hamilton. Max Verstappen chose to do his talking on-track yet again. He now has the maximum pole positions for any driver in 2025 - with four poles this season. In fact, he took pole in a low-downforce spec Red Bull Racing car, showing yet again that RBR-VER are always experimenting to beat the McLaren duo. Ferrari's Friday pace faded away on Saturday...yet again. But both drivers made errors to miss out on a front row start and will only line-up on the third row. However, Qualifying for the 2025 British Grand Prix was fought between 4 drivers - Verstappen, Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton. Oh yes, George Russell had an outside chance, one that he made for himself. Let's see what Sunday's race has in store. George Russell's future look shaky...but could Mercedes send Kimi Antonelli off to Alpine and make room for Max Verstappen?Climb the ladder with me on Patreon: https://patreon.com/lawvsRumours have, of course, been heating up about a blockbuster Mercedes strategy for 2026. However, I wish to suppose something different. Not much talk has focused on Kimi Antonelli. Should Toto Wolff keep Russell to partner Verstappen - should the deal be done - Alpine might be the Italian's home whilst he continues to develop. In this video, I wish to discuss this less talked situation, what it means for the team's championship ambitions and why Kimi could offer more to the new Merc customers than his older colleague Valtteri Bottas could. We also explain why Antonelli's rookie achievements and in-depth knowledge of the 2025 Mercedes could give Alpine a huge advantage just as they switch to Mercedes power units...and could make things even more cost effective!#f1 #maxverstappen #kimiantonelli #georgerussell #totowolff #formula1 #formulaone #f1news #f1latest #f1updates #f1rumors #f1rumours #f1drama #alpinef1 #mercedesamg #mercedesf1 #verstappen #russell #antonelli #bottas #valtteribottas Could Mercedes Send Antonelli to ALPINE for 2026?https://youtu.be/WiE4VTe2nsYCan't watch the ladder? "Max to Mercedes, Max to Mercedes" whether it's a rumour or the truth, this is the headline that dominated the Austrian Grand Prix, and now, the British Grand Prix as well. Will it be George Russell who will make way for Verstappen? Or will it be Andrea Kimi Antonelli? How impressive has Kimi been in his 11-race Formula 1 career so far? The cooler conditions should make Mercedes faster, or so they say. But the British Grand Prix is always iconic, and this is the 75th year of Formula 1's home race. Albon abandonó tras rodar en P6, dejando a Williams sin premio. McLaren, por su parte, reafirma su estatus de contendiente al título y piensa hacer suyo el campeonato.Pero eso no es todo. F1 correspondent and F1TV presenter Lawrence Barretto, and Brazilian journalist Julianne Cerasoli, join Tom Clarkson in the Spielberg paddock to discuss Lando Norris's victory at the Austrian Grand Prix. How did Lando bounce back from Canada? What did we learn from his epic wheel-to-wheel battle with teammate and title rival Oscar Piastri? And is this a ‘turning point' in their championship fight? George Russell and Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff reignited rumours that Max Verstappen could join the team with some interesting comments to the media over the weekend. How likely is that for 2026? What would Lawrence and Julianne do if they were advising Max in this situation? Ferrari had their best Sunday of the season with Charles Leclerc finishing P3 and Lewis Hamilton P4. With three podiums from the last four races, are they heading in the right direction? And after Lewis wanted to try a one-stop strategy, are the team ‘scared' to make those calls? Also on the agenda: Julianne tells us why Gabriel Bortoleto's first points in Formula 1 is such big news in Brazil, Racing Bulls Team Principal Laurent Mekies joins the pod to reflect on a ‘masterclass' from Liam Lawson after his career-best P6, and do Red Bull need to re-evaluate their second seat again following another challenging weekend for Yuki Tsunoda? Lando Norris began his race weekend in Austria with headset on, watching Alexander Dunne show his talent in FP1. He then quickly made up for lost time, setting the pace in FP2, taking the pole on Saturday and winning the race on Sunday. Of course, as Peter Windsor describes in this podcast, it was not as simple as that: his team-mate at McLaren-Mercedes, Oscar Piastri, applied pressure throughout the race; and Lando - like many other drivers - was obliged for most of the distance to nurse aero damage on the car. McLaren, though, finished one-two again, with Ferrari crossing the line P3/P4 (with Charles Leclerc ahead of Sir Lewis Hamilton). George Russell was P5 for Mercedes but Red Bull-Honda's Max Verstappen, who qualified only seventh, was eliminated on the first lap when he was t-boned by the Mercedes of Kimi Antonelli. McLaren conquered Spielberg and Red Bull walked away with nothing.Climb the ladder with me over on Patreon: https://patreon.com/lawvsIn this more raw race report than usual, there was a lot to unpack despite the leader of the race ultimately remaining the same from qualifying. McLaren's pace was without doubt at the 2025 Austrian Grand Prix as Lando Norris sealed victory. This means that Oscar Piastri's championship advantage is down to 15 points and with Max Verstappen being sent out of the race by Kimi Antontelli, his championship defense looks almost impossible to claw back. Behind him Liam Lawson's flawless one-stop carried Racing Bulls into the constructors fight for sixth while Sauber's upgrades let Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hulkenberg harass an ailing George Russell and his Mercedes. Ferrari stayed steady with a top-four double finish and shut Red Bull out on home ground. Fernando Alonso's crafty one-stop proved age is only a number as Lance Stroll and Alpine faded, Williams burned through another reliability horror and Yuki Tsunoda's tough weekend summed up Red Bull's worst home race in years, if not ever.

Actor Brad Pitt was seen driving a 2023 MCL60 at COTA, adding to the film's buzz , and the F1 director has teased a "Days of Thunder" crossover as a potential sequel concept. Veteran driver Fernando Alonso has achieved a remarkable milestone, having started an astounding 35.7% of all F1 Grand Prix races in history. Young talents Dino Beganovic and Alex Dunne are set to gain valuable experience in Free Practice 1 (FP1) at Austria, stepping in for Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris, respectively. In organizational news, the FIA has restructured, resulting in the dismissal of Sara Mariani, its Head of Sustainability, Diversity & Inclusion. Istanbul race organizers have publicly stated their readiness to host a Grand Prix if the new Madrid circuit isn't completed for the 2026 season. Liberty Media has received unconditional approval to acquire MotoGP, with the deal expected to finalize by July 3, 2025. James Vowles has signed a new long-term deal with the Williams Formula 1 team, seen by drivers like Alex Albon as a powerful "vote of confidence". The podcast also features an in-depth look at the Austrian Grand Prix's rich and varied history across multiple venues, from the Zeltweg Airfield to the current Red Bull Ring. Max Verstappen has notably dominated at the Red Bull Ring in recent years, securing multiple victories. The 2024 Austrian Grand Prix saw a dramatic race where George Russell secured victory for Mercedes after a collision between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris, who were fiercely battling for the lead. Ferrari's 2025 underperformance is primarily attributed to a fundamental issue with their car's design, specifically its difficulty in running very low to the ground without incurring excessive plank wear in high-speed corners. Both Ferrari and Red Bull are anticipated to introduce substantial upgrades to their cars, with a particular focus on the upcoming Austrian Grand Prix. Key talking points for the upcoming weekend include whether Max Verstappen can reassert dominance on his home turf, Mercedes' momentum after Russell's 2024 win, McLaren's superior tire management, the impact of Ferrari's upgrades, potential track limits issues, and the performance of junior drivers in FP1. Also included, the speculation in the Ferrari camp with Fred Vasseur reported to be on the hot seat, the control in George Russell's brilliant victory, and the delays in the steward's office, with the final result only confirmed nearly six hours after the flag dropped. The Canadian GP brought chaos, drama, and just the right amount of heartbreak for Kurt and Dylan. Lando Norris looked electric—until he misjudged a bold move on Piastri which almost wrecked both their races (Kurt might still be recovering). Meanwhile, Dylan's boy Max Verstappen kept it cool and consistent, finishing P2 behind a flawless George Russell, who finally got his redemption with pole, fastest lap, and the win. A Red Bull protest tried to steal the spotlight, but the stewards laughed it off, and Toto called it “petty and small.” Oh, and Lewis Hamilton sadly ran over a groundhog—yes, really—damaging his floor and finishing P6. Tune in as the guys break it all down with energy, laughs, and just enough shade to keep things spicy.

F1 correspondent and F1TV Presenter, Lawrence Barretto, and 2012 GP2 champion, Davide Valsecchi join Tom Clarkson in the Montreal paddock to reflect on that dramatic collision between McLaren teammates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri at the Canadian Grand Prix. What did Lando do wrong to cause the incident? How did Oscar's clever defence lure Lando into making a mistake? And what does this mean for the championship battle? George Russell secured his and Mercedes' first win of the season, while Kimi Antonelli scored his first podium in Formula 1 with P3. Is George ‘under-rated'? What makes him World Champion material? And what does reaching such a big milestone so early on in his F1 career say about Kimi's talent and how Mercedes have nurtured him. Plus, Tom, Lawrence and Davide discuss the recent criticism of Ferrari from Italian media and what Team Principal Fred Vasseur's reaction to it says about their situation. From Montreal, Edd Straw is joined by Jon Noble and Mark Hughes to review a dramatic and eventful Canadian Grand Prix.A somewhat pedestrian race was enlivened just before the flag when Lando Norris crashed into the back of his McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri - but how much has the incident hurt his title bid? That's one of the key questions answered.Edd, Jon and Mark also discuss Mercedes' stunning turn of form, explaining why George Russell - only fourth in Spain - was able to ease to victory here, ably backed up by rookie team-mate Kimi Antonelli, who took a maiden F1 podium in third behind Max Verstappen's Red Bull. There's also discussion of why Red Bull's protest against race winner Russell for “unsportsmanlike intent” was thrown out by the stewards. The episode is rounded out with chat about Ferrari's lacklustre showing against the backdrop of mounting pressure on team boss Fred Vasseur, and the usual Race Members' Club questions section. Former Renault driver and F1TV commentator, Jolyon Palmer, and Sky Sports F1 presenter, Natalie Pinkham, join Tom Clarkson to discuss all the big talking points ahead of this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix. Should Lando Norris be worried about the 10-point gap to championship leader Oscar Piastri? Will their rivalry start to heat up in the coming races? Jolyon explains where Oscar has the edge over Lando in qualifying and why that seemingly small lead in the standings is something the Australian can use to his advantage now. After causing a collision with George Russell at the Spanish Grand Prix, Max Verstappen is now just one penalty point away from an automatic race ban. Will the four-time World Champion change his approach in Montreal, or will he bounce back to secure what would be a fourth straight win at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve? Also on the agenda: why does Jolyon think Canada will be Mercedes' best race of the year so far? Will Lewis Hamilton find ‘redemption' at one of his most successful tracks? And should Williams be concerned after their failure to score points in Barcelona? F1: THE MOVIE starring Brad Pitt Don't miss the chance to see F1 on the big screen.
