We analyze where it turned south for Max Verstappen, and how it all went so horribly wrong for Ferrari. Plus, answer the big questions:Can F1 drivers with children still win championships? Should McLaren declare Oscar Piastri their #1 driver? Is Lewis Hamilton the reason behind Ferrari's struggles? Will 2025 be Alonso's last year in F1?

A great day has turned sour for Liam Lawson at the Miami Grand Prix. On this week's episode of And Colossally That's History! , Matt Bishop and Richard Williams look back at the controversial ‘crashgate' scandal, when it emerged that the Renault driver Nelson Piquet Junior deliberately crashed during the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix to hand a major sporting advantage to his team-mate, Fernando Alonso, who went on to win the race.Matt and Richard look at the origins of the saga, peak into the murkiness around who came up with the idea and put it into action, explain how it came to be uncovered, and discuss the punishments handed out to those involved. They also debate the morals of the incident itself - was it the worst example of cheating in sporting history (as some claimed at the time) or an example of F1 gamesmanship gone too far? Matt and Richard will be bringing members an exclusive Q&A episode at the end of Season 3, where they'll answer questions on each of the topics covered. As the new Team Principal of Sauber, Jonathan Wheatley is taking on one of the most exciting projects in Formula 1. With Benetton, Renault and Red Bull Racing, Jonathan has won 19 World Championships over the last 34 years. He talks about the unique connection he made with Ayrton Senna in the pitlane, the ‘uncomfortable' team debrief with Vettel and Mark Webber after their infamous ‘Multi 21' incident, what it takes to produce the perfect pit stop and his memories of Schumacher's first title win at Adelaide in 1994.

Mark Mann-Bryans and Filip Cleeren sit down to discuss the best of media day at the Jeddah Corniche circuit for Day 1 of the Saudi Arabian GP. The biggest story of the day involved Max Verstappen dismissing the idea of leaving Red Bull after the panic meeting the team had in Bahrain. There's also reaction to Max disagreeing with team boss Christian Horner's claims that the correlation issues with the team's windtunnel may be the culprit in regards to the team's issues. Also discussed is Aston Martin confirming they're keeping chief designer Adrian Newey solely focused on their 2026 car, with driver Fernando Alonso also playing down the likelihood that Max Verstappen could be his future teammate. And finally, Lando Norris opened up about his tricky weekend in Bahrain with Mark and Filip discussing whether his struggles are mental, or technical. Learn more about your ad choices.

Ferrari ambassador and former test driver Marc Gene has been with the team since 2004. During that time, Marc has had the privilege of working alongside five World Champions: Michael Schumacher, Kimi Raikkonen, Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel and now, Lewis Hamilton. Do they all have a common trait that makes them so successful? What's the difference between one-time and multiple World Champions? Speaking to Tom Clarkson, Marc shares stories from his years working with each of those legends. The Spaniard also talks about his own racing career in F1, which started with Minardi in 1999, why he loved testing Formula 1 cars for Williams and Ferrari, winning Le Mans in 2009, and much more. Mark Mann-Bryans and Jake Boxall-Legge report from Suzuka for Day 2 of the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix, with Friday practice generating plenty of headlines. Jake and Mark talk about the four red flags that disrupted FP2, including two for the grass on the side of the circuit catching fire, a spin into the gravel for Fernando Alonso at the first Degner and Jack Doohan's massive shunt into the wall at Turn 1, where the Australian had his DRS wing still open as he spun off the track. Also included is a discussion on Yuki Tsunoda's first day of running in a Red Bull and what conclusions could be drawn from the limited running, why Isack Hadjar's strong pace is going under the radar, and the latest news that the FIA is planning a summit for a potential change to V10-engines in the future. The rain delivered another F1 thriller in Melbourne, with McLaren-Mercedes' Lando Norris crossing the line to win by only 0.8sec from Red Bull-Honda's Max Verstappen. George Russell and Kimi Antonelli finished P3-P4 for Mercedes and fifth was the excellent Alex Albon (Williams-Mercedes), ahead of Sauber-Ferrari's Nico Hulkenberg and the two, disappointing, Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Sir Lewis Hamilton. The race was strewn with incident, beginning with Racing Bull-Honda's Isaac Hadjar crashing on the formation lap; Alpine-Renault's Jack Doohan losing control on the straight on the opening lap; Carlos Sainz (Williams-Mercedes) spinning into the barriers due to a Safety Car mode glitch; Aston Martin-Mercedes' Fernando Alonso shunting at high speed on intermediate tyres; and Gabriele Bortoleto (Sauber-Ferrari) and Liam Lawson (Red Bull-Honda) going off-course while running slicks in the semi-wet. In addition, McLaren-Mercedes' Oscar Piastri (who seemed set to finish P2) spun luridly onto the grass and both Leclerc and Antonelli survived quick track-surface spins without damage.
