Jack welcomes back MLB analyst and former Major League first baseman Orestes Destrade and Survivor: South Pacific second runner-up and college baseball player Albert Destrade to the show, to discuss the week's baseball news. It is Orestes' first appearance on the Jack Vita Show since October 2021. Orestes played four Major League seasons for the New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Pirates and Florida Marlins. As a member of the Marlins' inaugural team in 1993, Orestes led the Marlins in home runs (20) and RBI (87). He held the single-season franchise records for both categories, before Gary Sheffield broke his home run record in 1994 and Jeff Conine broke his RBI record in 1995. Orestes also played five seasons in Japan, where he led the Pacific League in home runs three times and RBI twice. In 1990, he was the MVP of the Japan Series. Since retiring from playing, Orestes has established himself as one of baseball's top broadcasters and analysts. From 2006 through 2009, Orestes worked at ESPN, appearing on Baseball Tonight and providing color commentary for the Little League World Series and World Baseball Classic. 17 years after the first ever World Baseball Classic, the 2023 WBC was a smashing success. O weighs in on his thoughts after being on the field for the championship game in March. Is there a way that the WBC can be improved upon in the future? Jack has some suggestions (0:00 - 18:00). O has a working theory as to why the Rays are off to their best start in franchise history. Is he on to (18:00 - 31:25). April 2023 saw an uptick in home runs over April of last year. Where are all these home runs coming from, and what are Albert, Orestes and Jack's thoughts on the sport's new rules thus far (31:25 - 42:05)? The Houston Astros have a losing record on May 9 for the first time since 2016, the last year the club missed the postseason. Starting pitchers Jose Urquidy and Luis Garcia each sustained injuries on back-to-back days. Garcia will require Tommy John surgery and Urquidy could be out for a while too. In place of both pitchers, the Astros recalled Brandon Bielak and friend of the show, JP France! France made his Major League debut Saturday, throwing five scoreless innings in a loss to the Seattle Mariners. Given their slow start and injuries, should Astros fans be concerned about their club? Could the Chicago White Sox be major sellers at the trade deadline? Months after signing him to a five-year contract, the St. Louis Cardinals will no longer be playing Willson Contreras at catcher for the time being. He will instead be DH-ing and playing the outfield. The Cardinals also enter Wednesday in last place in the National League Central. Orestes, Albert and Jack break it all down. With the Astros off to a cold start, is the American League West up for grabs? O is a big time believer in the Texas Rangers. All this and much more, on the latest edition of the Jack Vita Show (42:05 - END)! Follow Albert on Twitter and Instagram, and subscribe to his podcast, It's Not Polite to Ask with Albert Destrade. Tune in to hear Orestes' weekly radio program, the O Zone!

The Atlanta Braves have defied the odds and won the 2021 World Series! Jack has three friends that are lifelong Braves fans call in to share their thoughts and break down the World Series. Back on June 20 when the Braves were 5.5 games out of first place in the NL East with a losing record, former Bachelorette contestant and current golf pro Garrett Powell predicted on this show that the Braves would get to the World Series. He calls in for his victory lap, and makes his way-too-early 2022 World Series predictions with Jack (0:00 - 25:05)! Survivor: South Pacific star and fan favorite of the Jack Vita Show Albert Destrade flew to Houston and was on-hand for Game 6 of the World Series. He joins Jack via phone to recap and break down all things 2021 World Series, and he even has his pal Branden Shaw chime in (25:05 - 1:08:20). They also ask if the National League was better than the American League this year, discuss Jorge Soler becoming the second-ever Cuban-born World Series MVP, Max Fried's stellar game 6 outing, the ending of pitchers hitting in Major League Baseball, and how National League baseball can be preserved in the future (Jack has an idea!). Finally, Survivor: Africa contestant and friend of Brian and Ronnie Snitker, Teresa "T-Bird" Cooper, visits the Jack Vita Show for the second straight week, this time to celebrate the city of Atlanta's first championship since 1995 (1:08:20 - END)! For the first time ever, Jack welcomes Orestes Destrade AND Albert Destrade BOTH to the show, to recap ALDS and NLDS, and preview the ALCS and NLCS! Orestes just completed his 12th season broadcasting Tampa Bay Rays' games on Bally Sports. Previously, he played 15 years of professional baseball and he worked at ESPN for five years as an analyst on Baseball Tonight, the Little League World Series and the World Baseball Classic. His nephew Albert played college baseball and finished third on the 23rd season of Survivor, Survivor: South Pacific. Jack, Orestes and Albert weigh in on the first leg of the MLB postseason, where the Rays came up short to the Boston Red Sox in four games, the Atlanta Braves took out the Milwaukee Brewers in four games, the Houston Astros rolled the Chicago White Sox in four games, and the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants went the distance, with the Dodgers edging out their NL West foe late in Game 5. The trio shares their thoughts on the Division Series and AL and NL Wild Card games, the latest MLB news (including the Cardinals firing manager Mike Shildt), what changes they would make to MLB's current postseason format, replay review's place in the sport and many other entertaining detours along the way, including stories from Orestes' playing career. Later, they preview the upcoming ALCS and NLCS matchups between the Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros, and the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers. What are the keys to victory in order for each to advance to the World Series, and who does each guy have facing off in the Fall Classic in ten days? Tune in to find out!

It’s mere hours before the #SurvivorATF First Anniversary Party and Max and Corinne are pregaming. They vow to pick up the bar tab for all of their Survivor guests and patrons, unlike Gillian, who offers her Reality Rally stars a cash bar. Brandon Hantz is back on Facebook after taking his kid and new girlfriend on a field trip to death row. Villains and Fans Vs. Favorites and recounts a wicked Doodie Chronicle from Gabon. The episode ends with Corinne sharing her latest and greatest accomplishment in talking to managers.
David and Jeff discuss the latest episode of Survivor: Blood vs. Water. They discuss the strategic decisions of Tina as well as the entertaining aspects of Tyson. David then is joined by Edna Ma from Survivor: South Pacific to discuss her experience in the Shark Tank!If you only want to hear Edna's Shark Tank Interview, listen here:
David and Jeff discuss all the craziness of the tribe swap with special guest, Edna Ma from Survivor: South Pacific. The three of them discuss how Dawn and Cochran are doing in the game. They also talk about who is next on the chopping block and who will go deep in the game. Finally Edna plays a game of Would You Rather.
Let the blindsides begin! The feud between Corrine and Phillip has been settled. Lucky for secret agent underpants that Dawn is so sentimental about the anniversary of her undoing back in Survivor South Pacific courtesy of Cochran. If she had not already been so anxious and maudlin, she might have welcomed Corrine's plan and saw it as a way to move up the chain above Andrea. At least she took some action this time. Looks like Dawn has grown from her previous experience. You don't have to be a Cochran fan to be happy for his win tonight. That was a truly impressive display of eating prowess. Now that the favs have turned on each other, do you think the chances look better for the fans? What's a plausible cover story for Malcolm? Where do you see Brenda and Erik in the favs alliance? Is there still a chance they could flip? How do you think Malcolm and Reynold should play the OPIIs? Here is the new, merged tribe after episode 8.
