Riz & Dawg bring you Monday Night Live during the third game of the ALCS, as the Red Sox once again battered the Astros, and it was on the day off between the second and third games of the NLCS between the Braves and the Dodgers. The guys talked about all the moves happening on the fields, including Houston being left for dead already, even before they got down two games to one. And for the NLCS, how the Braves have a different look this time around against the defending World Series champion Dodgers, who dropped the first two games to Atlanta in the 2020 NLCS and were down 3-1 before rattling off three straight wins to steal the series. There is news off the field, and the second NL Wild Card team the St. Louis Cardinals, parted ways with manager Mike Shildt, who was the 2019 NL Manager of the Year, and led the Redbirds to a franchise-record 17-game winning streak in September that bolstered them to an unlikely wild card appearance, in which they lost in the bottom of the ninth inning. Riz & Dawg took a look at the managers of the teams that own the longest winning streaks in baseball history as a bellwether of where Shildt might stand. Spoiler Alert: It should work out well for Shildt in his next stop. Dawg kicked it off with Veteran of the Day. It was a stirring tribute to Gen. Colin Powell, the former US Secretary of State, who passed away at 84 earlier in the day. This one streamed live on the Facebook group, so there was some lively interaction in the comments. For the first time ever, Jack welcomes Orestes Destrade AND Albert Destrade BOTH to the show, to recap ALDS and NLDS, and preview the ALCS and NLCS! Orestes just completed his 12th season broadcasting Tampa Bay Rays' games on Bally Sports. Previously, he played 15 years of professional baseball and he worked at ESPN for five years as an analyst on Baseball Tonight, the Little League World Series and the World Baseball Classic. The trio shares their thoughts on the Division Series and AL and NL Wild Card games, the latest MLB news (including the Cardinals firing manager Mike Shildt), what changes they would make to MLB's current postseason format, replay review's place in the sport and many other entertaining detours along the way, including stories from Orestes' playing career. Later, they preview the upcoming ALCS and NLCS matchups between the Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros, and the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers. What are the keys to victory in order for each to advance to the World Series, and who does each guy have facing off in the Fall Classic in ten days? Tune in to find out!
