It's a time travel romp! And not just ANY time travel romp - it's the LAST time travel romp of the series. When Topanga discovers a time-continuum vortex in her closet and is sent back to the 1940s, even Alan and Mr. Feeny find new roles to play. While the gang tries to decipher where this fedora-wearing adventure lands in the greater landscape of BMW, Rider shares a vulnerable realization about Shawn’s trajectory in the final season. We talked about Mr. Feeny and his wife’s open marriage. We also talked about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s shopping states for their prenup. We also talked about old show pranks we played on member’s back in the day. Eddie claims that he may have seen Lunchbox flirting with Morgan in the studio and he erupts in the studio. Clint Black joins Bobby to talk about his new book, the story behind “Better Man” and “Killin’ Time,” and the wild moment that changed his career forever. Clint opens up about fame in the ‘90s, falling off stage, award shows in the 90s, plus he shares why performing the same songs still feels like a challenge every single night.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this episode of TV Tortured Together, Jacob and Laura time-travel back to the glory days of Boy Meets World, where life lessons were served daily—usually by a wise man peeking over a fence. They unpack the genius of Mr. Feeny, who somehow managed to teach every subject, solve every emotional crisis, and never age. Jacob compares detention to a low-budget horror movie, while Laura insists it was more like forced meditation with fluorescent lighting. They hilariously debate who they'd be in the Boy Meets World universe (spoiler: Jacob thinks he's Shawn, Laura thinks he's Minkus), then spiral into a late-'90s scary movie flashback and an unexpected argument over whether the theme song is a bop or a skip. We’re deep into dorm life, continuing our Season 6 recaps, now finally entering a new dynamic: the interesting friendship between Cory and Angela! Jumping right in with a wildly unhinged Cory / Topanga kiss, Mr. Feeny is finding his footing in college, while the Shawn / Angela relationship continues to stall (and we don’t mean a co-ed bathroom stall, a room place that Cory finally conquers). Plus, one of our hosts has a theory that connects Boy Meets World to the M*A*S*H universe. Bet you can’t guess who it is! It’s Will. Definitely Will. You knew that. We’re settling into college life, and nothing says adjustment like the Pennbrook Student Union’s very first appearance! As the freshmen rush to sign up for classes, Cory bites off more than he can chew, and the B-story gives our hosts a case of Deja vu, though this time ending in the laundry room. They explore what a retired Feeny does in his free time, and we hear the harrowing tale of the 18 hours Rider spent searching for “Pickles,” only on a “swomp” of a new Pod Meets World! Dalton Hessel is a 2nd grade teacher, content creator, writer, podcaster, and "Up North" enthusiast based in the small town of Hayward, Wisconsin. Dalton grew up in Hayward before earning his teaching degree at UWEC. While he enjoyed his time in Eau Claire, he always knew he wanted to end up back in his hometown. Inspired by the popular sitcom Boy Meets World, Dalton wanted to become a real life Mr. Feeny. He secured his first teaching job in the fall of 2019 and got to teach for about 5 months before the pandemic shut down everything. Dalton had to adapt, and with his computer skills became a leader among his teaching team as they adjusted to virtual learning. Since then he has published 4 books, started his Northern Nerd brand, built an audience of over 100,000 followers across his social media platforms, got married, became a father, and more. In this episode we discuss small town life, having boundaries, best places to camp, writing poetry, going viral, the responsibilities of teachers, organizing events, building community, juggling passions, and much more.
It's another deep dive into “And Then There Was Shawn,” now inviting another Jeff back on the pod: the episode's writer, Jeff Menell! The life-long movie buff details how the episode materialized, his horror inspirations and for the first time ever, we hear about what was cut during rewrites (and Feeny got off easy!) For our last visit with the classic episode, we're venturing onto the original script's floppy disk, right here on Pod Meets World!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Mr. Feeny assigns Shawn the task of getting Super Bowl tickets, but Danielle, Rider and Will have a much more realistic goal: to recap another Season 5 episode! We hear the story behind the meme-tastic “soup or bowl” scene and just how Danielle was flung off Ben's back and right onto the kitchen floor. The gang reveals a bit too much about their sleeping attire and we try to figure out the history of a certain hand motion that goes with “taco” on BMW. You don't want to be the last one on a freezing cold billboard, so come in where it's warm - on a brand new Pod Meets World!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
With so much recent discussion about the ideas and intentions of the "founders," we decided to watch the film version of the musical 1776...so you won't have to. Clocking in at 2 hours and 45 minutes, this performance will give you more questions than answers as to how the Declaration of Independence was actually written. We talk about Mr. Feeny's (a.k.a William David Daniels's) turn as John Adams, what's really going on with the depiction of Thomas Jefferson's wife, and the general fixation with leading white men of this era. original air date: July 27, 2022
Could it be…season 5 is looking up?? The gang is caught off guard when the Rolf starts to wear off and they might know the reason why. Shawn falls in love with a purse – leaving breadcrumbs for what will become an iconic BMW romance, and the most complete introduction of a character yet. And any time you get a little Maggie Lawson, you know it's gonna be good. We might have an imaginary Feeny, but this episode is no hallucination. Things are getting better on an all-new Pod Meets World!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
