Anna found a list of the things that are considered an older person habit that that younger people are doing! Her husband made fun of her for one thing that helped on vacation! Anna lists three news stories that seem almost out of this world, and Raven can only pick and hear about one! Raven was on a line at the pet store and there was hostile energy behind him because he needed to use his coupons! Anna was at Costco and waited in line because someone was on the phone with their credit card company! Find out what happened! Anna and Raven take the test to see how their job ages them! Find out how much their job has aged them and take it yourself: https://www.harleystreetskinclinic.com/data/ageing-jobs-calculator/ Anna was “attacked” by a horse at a St. Patrick's Day Parade but not in the way you would think! She wants to know if this has happened to other people! Samantha's husband, David, doesn't think he should be forced to dance with his wife at bars/clubs/weddings. He says that he's 40 years old, he's too old to be dancing at bars with her. She's suggested if he won't dance with her at any of these places, then he can't get mad when she dances with other guys. He thinks that's ridiculous. Why does she need to dance with anyone?  Just dance with your girlfriends or by yourself. She says it's not the same. What do you think? Reynold has a chance to win $8400! All Reynold has to do is answer more pop culture questions than Raven in Can't Beat Raven!

Noah, Kennedie, and Augustine have faithfully served with Crossworld in Thailand for the past six years. Throughout their ministry, they have experienced incredible moments—witnessing teenagers come to faith, be baptized, and grow as disciples. In the last two years, their focus shifted from working in local schools to launching their own. However, recent legal challenges and visa complications have led them to the difficult decision to leave the field and return to the U.S. If you've ever been called to a ministry or job that felt like the perfect fit but was no longer an option, you understand the heartache and uncertainty that can follow. The Reynold family is navigating that transition now and would deeply appreciate our prayers and support as they seek new opportunities to serve. They are incredibly gifted, and we trust that God has a meaningful place for them in this next season. We are profoundly grateful for their dedication over the past decade and for the partnership we've shared through All Shores. We celebrate all they have accomplished and the impact of their ministry. Thank you, Noah and Kennedie—we are so proud of you! For more information or ways to engage, please contact thad.spring@allshores.org

Welcome to Director Watch! On this AwardsWatch podcast, co-hosts Ryan McQuade and Jay Ledbetter attempt to breakdown, analyze, and ultimately, get inside the mind of some of cinema's greatest auteurs. In doing so, they will look at their filmographies, explore what drives them artistically and what makes their decision making process so fascinating. Add in a few silly tangents and a fun game at the end of the episode and you've got yourself a podcast we truly hope you love. On episode 86 of the Director Watch Podcast, the boys are joined by Pop Culture Confidential host Christina Jeurling Birro to discuss the next film in their Mike Nichols series, Postcards from the Edge (1990). As we enter the 1990s, Mike Nichols is coming off one of the most successful films of his career, and with his follow-up to Working Girl, he brings to life the deeply honest, humorous, personal story of Carrie Fisher's autobiographical novel, Postcards from the Edge. Based on Fisher's novel inspired by real life events from her childhood, relationship with her mother Debbie Reynolds, her acting career post Star Wars, and her battle with substance abuse, Nichols is expertly able to bring every element of Fisher's life together with a brilliant performance by Meryl Streep, and the excellent work by Shirley MacLaine playing her version of Reynolds, and the tragic yet relatable bond the real mother-daughter had while going through the Hollywood machine. Ryan, Jay, and Christina break down their thoughts on the film, their connection to Fisher and Reynold's careers, how different a role like this is for both Streep and MacLaine, the perfect use of Gene Hackman, the film's depiction of substance abuse and if it goes deep enough on the matter, and the what might possibly be the funniest moment in the history of the show with the discovery of the plot of a Disney Channel original movie from 2004 and how it all ties to the career of Debbie Reynolds. And no, we aren't talking about Halloween Town. You will have to listen to find out, and trust us, it's worth it. You can listen to the Director Watch Podcast wherever you stream podcasts, from iTunes, iHeartRadio, Soundcloud, Stitcher, Spotify, Audible, Amazon Music and more. This podcast runs 1h48m. The guys will be back next week to continue their series on the films of Mike Nichols with a review of his next film, The Birdcage. You can rent it via iTunes and Amazon Prime rental in preparation for the next episode of Director Watch. Till then, let's get into it. In early March 1879, fifty-five-year-old widow Julia Martha Thomas disappeared from her home in southwest London. Julia often travelled by herself on moment's notice, so neighbors thought nothing of her absence; however, when several female body parts were discovered in the Thames, police uncovered a gruesome crime that not only involved theft and impersonation, but also the ghastly murder of Julia Martha Thomas.Thomas's maid, Kate Webster, was quickly arrested and charged with Julia's murder. Through their investigation, detectives discovered that Thomas had recently given Webster notice of termination after only one month. Days before she was to leave Thomas' home, Webster murdered her employer, then dismembered her body and posed as Julia in order to sell off the murdered woman's belongings for a quick profit. Although she maintained her innocence, Kate Webster was tried, convicted, and executed for the crime, finally confessing her guilt just hours before she went to the gallows. The ”Richmond Murder,” as it was dubbed by the press, captivated Londoners for months and Webster's trial and execution became something of a public spectacle. In Victorian-era England, few people believed a woman capable of committing murder, much less dismemberment and rendering of a human body. Given that, and the shocking viciousness of the crime itself, the Richmond Murder remains one of London's most notorious murders of the late nineteenth century.Thank you to the incredible Dave White of Bring Me the Axe Podcast for research!ReferencesBirmingham Evening Mail. 1879. Simon Reynolds in conversation with David Eastaugh https://store.whiterabbitbooks.co.uk/products/futuromania Simon Reynolds's first book in eight years is a celebration of music that feels like a taste of tomorrow. Sounds that prefigure pop music's future - the vanguard genres and heroic innovators whose discoveries eventually get accepted by the wider mass audience. Starting with an extraordinary chapter on Giorgio Moroder and Donna Summer, taking in illuminating profiles of Ryuichi Sakamoto, Boards of Canada, Burial, and Daft Punk, and arguing for Auto-Tune as the defining sound of 21st century pop, Futuromania shapes over two-dozen essays and interviews into a chronological narrative of machine-music from the 1970s to now. Reynolds explores the interface between pop music and science fiction's utopian dreams and nightmare visions, always emphasising the quirky human individuals abusing the technology as much as the era-defining advances in electronic hardware and digital software.

Wayne Elliott joins the podcast via a connection with Bobby Malone (Episode 150). Wayne and Bobby knew each other from the time when they worked at Reynold's Aluminum together. Wayne retired, moved to Kansas and they lost touch, but got reconnected about two years ago and have been talking ever since. He grew up in Essex County, VA and played a lot of baseball. He went on to play at both Ferrum and Randolph Macon. His love of baseball came from his Dad who he unfortunately lost when he was in eighth grade. They talked about his work, baseball, playing softball and golf and we learned about a unique backyard game he played growing up. They ended by talking about what keeps Wayne busy nowadays and vowed to meet each other if Wayne ever makes his way back to Virginia for a visit.

In Vietnam, medics are examining Pip Phillips, a wounded soldier. The medical officer says Pip's case is hopeless and it is only a matter of time before he will die. In the United States, Pip's father Max, a bookie, suckers a young man named George Reynold into placing $300 on a bad bet. Reynold comes to him for help, saying that he made the bet on loaned money and will go to jail if he doesn't get it back. Max returns the $300, but his boss Mr. Moran notices the discrepancy in the books and summons both Max and Reynold to his office. As the young man is strong-armed into returning his bet, Max receives a telegram about Pip's condition. Max vocally rues the time he spent working as a bookie instead of being a father to his son, and returns the money to Reynold. He tells him to run and threatens Moran and his underling with a knife. The underling shoots Max but Max is still enraged by his son's fate and uses his knife to kill both men. Wounded, he stumbles outside towards a closed amusement park and is surprised to see Pip at age 10. The two have some fun and redress Max's near-constant absence from his son's life, with Max teaching Pip how to shoot at a shooting gallery. Pip runs off into the house of mirrors, and Max follows. When Max finds him, Pip explains that he is dying and vanishes. Max prays to God and offers to trade his own life in exchange for Pip's. He collapses and dies on the midway. Some months later, the adult Pip is seen at the park, now walking with the aid of a cane. Max's former landlady Mrs. Feeny is also there with her granddaughter and recalls Max's love for his son. Pip visits the shooting gallery, remembering the wonderful times he had as a child with his father and his father's advice to work the gun and not the jaw. He proclaims that his father was "[his] best buddy" as he begins to play the shooting game.

This episode of EMS One-Stop With Rob Lawrence is brought to you by Lexipol, the experts in policy, training, wellness support and grants assistance for first responders and government leaders. To learn more, visit lexipol.com. This edition of EMS One-Stop was recorded in New Orleans at the 2023 EMS World Expo.  Host Rob Lawrence is joined by a range of guests who discuss the sessions they presented and the latest developments in clinical medicine. Alexia Jobson, director of public relations at REMSA, discusses top tips for dealing with the media, and she then interviews media pre-con student Katherine Robillard.  Peter Antevy, MD, describes his conference session, titled “Five protocol changes you're too afraid to make.” Brian Maloney of Plum EMS, in Pennsylvania, talks culture of safety, and lights and sirens reduction (and their results within the NEMSQA L&S reduction program). Doug Wolfberg, Esq., of Page, Wolfberg & Wirth, steps in to discuss leadership lessons from the Beatles and his new book – "Beatles FAB but True." The episode concludes with veteran EMS podcasters Chris and Anne Monterra, who offer tips on the art of podcasting. TOP QUOTES FROM THIS EPISODE “‘No comment is a comment!' So you really want to avoid that as part of your media strategy and work to develop some transparent and honest information when those tough questions come.” — Alexia Jobson “Anything that you say to a reporter is considered on the record and can be used in a news story.” — Alexia Jobson “Top tips for going on camera: You want to make sure that they are knowledgeable about what they are going to be talking about, you want them to be a willing participant and able to re-frame and be positive about the content they are going to cover.” — Alexia Jobson “It's important for you to just spend a little time looking inside your organization, recognize those important stories that you want to share, and then make sure that you commit some time and resources to building those relationships with your audiences ... having that positive relationship in place will go a long way. And it's also important as a profession that we work together to kind of raise the profile of out of hospital healthcare and EMS.” — Alexia Jobson “Getting out the door, our shoot time is the No. 1 thing that can decrease our response times. It's not driving lights and sirens; it's not driving recklessly or speeding or not obeying the laws ... it's getting out that door quick from the time of dispatch to the time our truck's pulling out of the garage.” — Brian Maloney “When we first started looking at the use of lights and sirens during transport to the hospital, which is right there, that increases our chance of getting in a wreck threefold and so it's very dangerous. When we first started it, we were at 26% of the time using lights and sirens during transport; we're down to almost 2%, for transport to the hospital. For response to calls, we were about 46-48% of the time using lights and sirens; we're down to 7% of the time now.” — Brian Maloney “Antibiotics for sepsis, so a lot of people are fearful of giving antibiotics, and why? Because the hospital says we need to have a culture, a blood culture. Turns out that's not true. If the patient's hypotensive, they're fixing to die, as they say. And we in Palm Beach County can give the antibiotics within 12 minutes of the 911 call. And our own data shows that the hospital is giving antibiotics at 120 minutes. That's a 10-fold difference in that. So, antibiotics for sepsis are, I think, a major item.” — Dr. Peter Antevy “There's a story about how the Beatles had a drummer for a couple of years before Ringo. He wasn't quite the right fit for that band. He's a good drummer. But when they got Ringo in, they took off, right? So, in EMS, we tend to think if somebody has a pulse and a patch, let's hire them or let's bring them in. But we need the right people.” — Doug Wolfberg “Recognize your own limitations, I tell a story about how the Beatles sort of came on hard times when their manager died, but weren't quite wise enough to know what they didn't know. They thought ‘we can manage ourselves,' and so it's to also recognize your limitations and get the skills that you need, if you don't possess them yourself, with your team.” — Doug Wolfberg EPISODE CONTENTS 01:15 – Media management with Alexia Jobson (REMSA) 09:22 – Alexia Jobson interviews Katherine Robillard (LA Office of EMS) 11:37 – Brian Maloney (Plum EMS) talks culture of safety and lights and sirens reduction 20:15 – Dr. Peter Antevy on the five protocol changes you're too afraid to make 23:54 – Doug Wolfberg Esq. Have you ever returned to a beloved children' book as an adult and found the content unnerving? Charity introduces the topic of cynicism as a perspective that shapes what we are able to see, a stance that conditions our vision, a judgement that conditions our choices. Charity introduces an excellent essay by Anna Kaladish Reynolds regarding cynicism, a critical reading of Mirette on the High Wire by Emily Arnold McCully. Reynold's essay proposes that the innocence available in picture books like Mirette On the High Wire may help us to learn a wisdom that is greater than any that cynicism can offer to us.Read Innocence: A Perspective of Intelligent Reading on the Bright Wings' blog.Follow Bright Wings: Children's Books on Instagram :)

Pre-IPO Stock Market Update - Mar 10, 2023 | TikTok, Mint Mobile/Ryan Reynolds, OpenAI, Two new unicorns, Pre-IPO stocks down for the week but beat S&P big00:29 | White House is demanding ByteDance to divest Tiktok- ByteDance current cap table; 60% global investors, 20% employees, 20% founders. The business is already majority owned by non-Chinese investors.- The company shares do give ByteDance founders control over the business, perhaps that needs to change.- ByteDance produced $61b in 2022 revenue. Tiktok was $10b in 2022. (...per my sources).- ByteDance closed a $100m Series F at a $220b valuation in Mar 2023, a 22% increase from its last round in Dec 2020. ByteDance is the most valuable pre-IPO stock globally. - If data security is the issue ... how does changing the cap table solve a data security issue?- Oracle managing the app, reviewing code, and publishing to the app stores appears to be a much better data security solution, in my opinion.- Early investors include Susquehanna Asia Investments, DST Ventures, Sequoia China. Other notable investors include General Atlantic, Softbank, NEA, KKR, Tiger Global, Carlyle, Coatue.- The illogical divesture demand by the White House leads us to believe this whole thing is political farse … similar to how Chinese companies were to be delisted from US stock exchanges which ended up never happening. 02:54 | T-Mobile buys Ka'ena Corporation, a cell service provider, for $1.35b; 39% cash and 61% stock- Ka'ena includes brands Mint Mobile and Ultra Mobile- T-Mobile is acquiring the brands' sales, marketing, digital, and service operations- T-Mobile will; use its supplier relationships and distribution scale to help the brands to grow and offer competitive pricing and greater device inventory to more U.S. consumers seeking value offerings and leverage Mint's industry-leading digital D2C marketing expertise (aka Ryan Reynolds) as part of its broader portfolio to reach new customer segments and geographies- Ryan Reynolds, the Canadian actor, owns a 25% stake in Mint Mobile; analysts estimate that Reynold's acquired the shares at a $15m valuation, Reynold's shares are estimated to be valued at $150m to $200m04:31 | OpenAI, the AI company, releases GPT-4, a multimodal AI- GPT-4 API pricing...Prompt (questions that the user types in) = $0.03 per 1,000 “prompt” tokens (about 750 words)...Completion (words that GPT-4 responds with) = $0.06 per 1,000 “completion” tokens (again, about 750 words)...Tokens represent raw text; for example, the word “fantastic” would be split into the tokens “fan,” “tas” and “tic”- Early adopters using GPT-4...Stripe: GPT-4 to scan business websites and deliver a summary to customer support staff...Duolingo: GPT-4 built into a new language learning subscription tier...Morgan Stanley: GPT-4 powers a system that'll retrieve info from company documents and serve it up to financial advisors...Khan Academy: GPT-4 as an automated tutor- OpenAI worked with Microsoft to develop a “supercomputer” from the ground up in the Azure cloud, which was used to train GPT-4- OpenAI has a $29b valuation as of Jan 202306:25 | Large cap raises for the week- Anthropic | $300m Series C, $4.4b valuation- Scroll | $50m Series C, $1.8b valuation- Character | $200m Seed, $1.0b valuation- Humane | $100m Series C, $850m valuation- Ring Therapeutics | $87m Series C, $602m valuation07:24 | Pre-IPO stock performance for the week- Pre-IPO stocks down 0.81% outperforming S&P by 3.6%- YTD OpenSea and Kraken still lead the group up 36% and 21% respectfully, Chime is down YTD 31%, Airtable and Stripe are both down 21% YTD- last week Chime was up 0.56% to lead, Epic Games was down 7.5% and Stripe was down 5.6%AG Dillon & Co venture capital funds...- AG Dillon SpaceX Pre-IPO Stock Fund
