Well, here's the cliffhanger that could easily also have been a mid-season premiere if it had been held for a few weeks more. "Breakout" is the 13th episode from season 2 of Star Wars Resistance, and as I noted in yesterday's show, this is now three episodes in a row that are at the peak of Resistance episodes overall. They really seem to be hitting their stride with the show - more's the pity that it's going to end with this season... When we last left our heroes, Yeager, Synara, and CB-23 had been captured and would be turned over to Commander Pyre, Agent Tierney, and the First Order's tender ministrations. (Ironically stated - they actually show all three being tortured with electricity in this episode, which seems like a step older from their previously-stated younger audience perspective.) Kaz and the other Resistance spy Norath Kev have to figure out how to rescue them - and do it before the First Order finds and destroys the Colossus hiding nearby. This podcast features a full-spoiler breakdown, and also looks ahead at episode 14 - because apparently we're not done with the bounty hunter Ax Tagrin just yet. Punch it! ***I'm listener supported! Star Wars Resistance didn't skip a beat with its First Order plot in the latest episode, "The First Order Occupation". https://youtu.be/orx3LV1zKPk Nick was out sick for this episode of the Resistance Recap, so I had to navigate the episode by my lonesome, which in turn resulted in a short and sweet recap that only requires about 15-minutes of your time. As usual I covered the four Easter eggs from the episode and the Star Wars properties they came from, and then moved into the recap with review elements sprinkled in. Don't forget that we also have videos breaking down this episode's Easter eggs, as well as a video to recap and review the episode with images. It's definitely a good one, and so far my Synara predictions are still on the table even though her situation changes greatly by the end of the this episode. Nick and I were both off last week in thinking that this episode may take a break form the First Order plot, because it went full in with it, so it looks like their occupation will be the main focus moving forward. You can listen in above, make sure to subscribe using the provided links.

Welcome to episode 72.3 of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels: The Doza Dilemma. On this episode, Dennis, Jay, and Darth Taxus are looking at the First Order's power play to exert pressure on Captain Doza. When the First Order expresses displeasure with Kragan and his pirates, a new deal is reached between them. Kragan will get more money, but he has to steal something precious to Doza first. In addition, Synara has second thoughts about assisting Kragan, but what will she do about it? "The Doza Dilemma" During the review, the Scoundrels discuss: Kaz's affection for Synara, Valik the Palliduvan, The drone blaster game in Torra's room, The easter eggs hidden in this episode, Kragan's galleon, The First Order betrayal of the pirates, and Kaz's realization that Synara may be a pirate operative. The First Order plot was front and center in the latest episode of Star Wars Resistance, which is titled, "The Doza Dilemma". Right from the start we were treated to another First Order plot to undermine the Colossus, and we got to see it play out in full, so both Nick and I felt this was a very strong episode. https://youtu.be/RP-PNK9jCRQ Of course we breakdown all aspects of the episode starting with its Easter eggs and franchise references, all the way to a full on review of its best parts and overall contributions to the franchise. We spend quite a bit of time on Synara, and how her predicament is starting to affect her ability to both pirate, and be a good friend to Kaz and Torra. I speculated long ago that she will either fully turn to the good side, or sacrifice herself to save Kaz or Torra, and this episode definitely reinforced those beliefs with me. The new episode - "The First Order Occupation" - will also be available SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 3rd (12:01 a.m. PT) on the DisneyNOW app and Disney Channel VOD, giving kids and families access to the series wherever and whenever they want to watch.

Neeku and his new pet Bibo, How "Bibo" moves the story of Resistance along, The frustration of the logic of the characters in an attempting to deal with the threat to Colossus station, The return of the Children from Tehar, and Kaz's continued inability to fool anyone. Now that Star Wars Resistance has returned from its midseason break, Nick and I are also returning with a new episode of the Resistance Recap for the Star Wars Time Show. We discuss all things "Bibo", which is the title of the latest episode of the show that aired on January 13, 2019. We both agreed that this episode was a bit of a stinker because it didn't feature any of the overarching First Order/Resistance plot. It was mostly self-contained and silly, and was more of a Neeku-centric episode if anything else. In fact, after discussing the episode, we decided that we need to change our review criteria for the show, because based on the averages the episodes got over an 8 out of 10 score, which doesn't reflect its true entertainment value. Anyway, the episode did feature two items of note revolving around Kaz and Synara. Their relationship will undoubtedly come to the forefront later on this season, so this episode provided a few more insights into both of these characters and how their bond will be tested when the shit hits the fan later this season. Kaz also felt like a Star Wars hero for the first time in this episode, so it's not a complete turd. Another month, another monthly recap of Star Wars Resistance episodes! We look back at the month that was to discuss “Children of Tehar”, “Signal from Sector Six”, “Synara’s Score”, and “The Platform Classic”! Winding from discussing Kaz’s maturity and Neeku’s wide-eyed selflessness to Yeager’s greater depth and Doza’s pragmatic leadership, we cover a lot of ground. Plus, Blaine shares some really cool experience from Jedi Challenges gameplay and Josh assumes Cavan Scott will sign his cassette copy of a podcast. All that and some rough audio* because of new equipment on this week’s episode of H1R!*seriously, sorry about the echo-y audio quality. Trying out a whole new setup did not go well. We will have it under control by next week!
