Real Life  Devon just got back from Barcelona, where his sister-in-law's wedding was equal parts joyful and medically confusing (house-wide illness, mystery IV drip, etc.). Between family chaos and questioning the overwhelming religious vibes, he managed to sneak in a tour of tapas bars—including Bobby's Free, a barbershop turned speakeasy where you open a safe to get a drink. Also on the agenda: the Sagrada Familia, which still looks like Gaudí teamed up with an alien architect. Take a virtual tour and judge for yourself. Steven went full Jedi at Disney's Star Wars Night on Batuu, adding more lightsabers to a collection that's now approaching General Grievous territory. He caught the live Storyteller Show (“shockingly emotional for a theme park thing”) and did some heavy-duty geeking out at the custom saber forge. Series two sabers are out now. Good luck, your wallet. Ben's been working on his nap game. He's reading Take a Nap! Change Your Life by Sara Mednick (link), thanks to a recommendation from Cool Tools. Lucid dreaming, better brain function, and maybe—just maybe—a dream where he finally builds his own lightsaber. Also: Devon didn't watch The Naboo Movie, which we're still not convinced is real. Future or Now  Ben found a Reddit guide to rewiring your brain—more philosophy than prescription, but helpful as a reminder: break bad loops, reframe your thinking, stay mindful. Simple ideas, not always simple to do. Devon brought the science bombshell: astronomers may have detected a biosignature outside our solar system. It's not a “we found aliens” headline, but it's the strongest hint yet that something biological might be out there. Researchers are cautious, but intrigued. So are we. Steven recapped Andor season 2, episodes 1–3. The political tension is still top-tier, the pacing's tighter, and the existential dread remains on-brand. Also, WondLa season 2 is out now (IMDb), if you need more sci-fi world-building in your queue. Book Club  No book this week—we're recharging. But next time, we're reading “A Brief Dance to the Music of the Spheres” by Michael Kurland from The Best of Omni Science Fiction #6. Read it here, and don't skip the illustrations—they're wild in the best way. Back next week with cosmic dances, dream experiments, and at least one more lightsaber.

Star Wars: Beyond Victory #1, a Star Wars Celebration Japan exclusive, serves as a prequel for the upcoming MetaQuest Star Wars: Beyond Victory -- A Mixed-Reality Playset. The one-shot, written by Ethan Sacks, with art by Steven Cummings, Will Sliney, Shogo Aoki, Rachelle Rosenberg and VC's Joe Caramagna, sets up the story of Volo Bolus, a podracer with an eye toward the prize and who draws the attention of now-disgraced racer Sebulba (yep, the one from The Phantom Menace). What follows is a fast-paced race on Batuu, a solid backstory and a positioning for the gaming -- and storytelling -- to come in the Beyond Victory software.Whether the comic will get a wider release is unlikely, given specialty issues like these seldom do and we think it's unlikely a digital release or inclusion in a trade paperback isn't in the cards, either, meaning if you want to get a copy, the secondary market is poised to be your only choice. So far, 10 copies of have been sold on eBay, ranging from $25-$303. Another nine copies are still up for grabs, with prices ranging from $50-$219.We got our copy thanks to Kelly Knox, a writer of renown, and known for her work on the StarWars.com website. We're immensely grateful to her for acquiring a copy of the issue for us and sending it our way.Comics Discussed This Week:Star Wars: Beyond VIctory #1 Star Wars Comics New to Marvel Unlimited This Week:Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku -- Last Stand #4 (of 4)A New Legacy #1 One-ShotJedi Knights #1The High Republic -- Fear of the Jedi #1Legacy of Vader #1News: Free Comic Book Day is May 3 and features titles from Marvel (Star Wars) and Dark Horse (Young Jedi Adventures).Upcoming Star Wars comics, graphic novels and omnibuses:April 29 _ Crash Zone TPB (Collects Crash Landing, Crash and Burn and the 2025 The High Republic Adventures Phase III Annual), Crimson Reign Omnibus (Collects 1-5, Star Wars 19-25, Bounty Hunters 18-24, Darth Vader 18-24 and Doctor Aphra 16-21)April 30 _ The High Republic Adventures Phase III #17, The High Republic Adventures Phase III -- The Battle of Eriadu One-Shot, The High Republic -- Fear of the Jedi #3 (of 5), The Rise of Skywalker Adaptation #3 (of 5), Codebreaker #1 (of 4)May 3 _ Star Wars Free Comic Book Day #1, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures Free Comic Book Day #1May 6 _ Star Wars: Ahsoka — Season One TPB (Collects 1-8), Darth Maul: Black, White & Red Treasury Editions (Collects 1-4)May 7 _ Star Wars (Vol. IV) #1, The Bad Batch -- Ghost Agents #3 (of 5)May 14 _Jedi Knights #3May 20 _ The High Republic Adventures Phase III Vol. 3 TPB (Collects 11-13, Wedding Spectacular One-Shot)May 21 _ The High Republic Adventures Phase III #18, Legacy of Vader #4, The High Republic — Fear of the Jedi #4 (of 5)May 28 _ The Rise of Skywalker Adaptation #4 (of 5)June 3 _ The Battle of Jakku TPB (Collects Insurgency Rising 1-4,  Republic Under Seige 1-4, Last Stand 1-4)June 4 _ Jedi Knights #4, The High Republic — Fear of the Jedi #5 (of 5)June 11 _ Star Wars #2, The Rise of Skywalker adapation #5 (of 5), The Bad Batch -- Ghost Agents #4 (of 5)June 17 _ Star Wars Legends: The Rebellion Omnibus Vol. 3 (Collects Star Wars: Shadow Stalker (1997) 1, Star Wars: Rebel Heist (2014) 1-4, Star Wars: A Valentine Story (2003) 1, Classic Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1994) 1-2, Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (1996) 1-6, Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire Mini-comic (1996) 1-2, Star Wars: Tales From Mos Eisley (1996) 1, Star Wars: The Bounty Hunters – Scoundrel's Wages (1999) 1, Classic Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1994) 1-2, Star Wars: Tag & Bink Are Dead (2001) 2, Star Wars: Tag & Bink II (2006) 1, Sergio Aragones Stomps Star Wars (2000) 1, Star Wars Infinities: The Empire Strikes Back (2002) 1-4, Star Wars Infinities: Return of the Jedi (2003) 1-4; It's a new year and Disney and Lucasfilm just wrapped Skeleton Crew. There won't be much coming in 2025 (as we mentioned throughout 2024's news updates), but there IS Andor coming in April. Yeah, there's Visions and the second half of a season of a show for toddlers, but Star Wars news is about to get sparse. Star Wars Podcast Day 2025 is coming soon (February 7th) so we'll celebrate the origins of podcasting about a galaxy far, far away in just a week, but until then we talk the future of Skeleton Crew and why, despite the hopes of The Acolyte apologists, there won't be one for that show. Hollywood Studios is dropping Muppets for Monsters on the doorstep of Batuu, gamers are getting Star Wars armor in Destiny 2, and you can now buy a Luke action figure in his "famous" Imperial Guard armor. Please check out our Linktree links (linktr.ee/ThisistheWayPod) and listen to this podcast for our This is the Way Podcast HQ email address. May the Force be with you!

News: An iconic Disney Legend passed away this week. Richard M. Sherman, half of the legendary Sherman Brothers, responsible for music from Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, it's a small world, and more, passed away on May 24th. The Sherman brothers have a window on Main Street at the Music Shop. – https://www.micechat.com/387679-remembering-disney-legend-richard-m-sherman/ Weeklyteers in the parks on Memorial Day may have seen something different and wondered what it was all about. At Tiana's Palace and Blue Bayou there were hero tables setup to honor missing heroes. They had a slice of lemon on the bread plate to remind us of the bitter fate of those who will never return, a pinch of salt symbolizing the tears endured by those who sacrificed all, an inverted glass for those who cannot toast with us, and an empty chair, representing a seat that remains unclaimed at the table. – https://wdwnt.com/2024/05/disneyland-memorial-day-missing-hero-tables/ Construction in Downtown Disney is coming along nicely. On the west end of the shopping district, the future security area is nearing completion, along with Din Tai Fung. Parkside Market is still a ways away from being complete, but is making quick progress. – https://www.micechat.com/387375-disneyland-update-beautiful-fantasies-overwhelming-nightmares/ An entire area in Disneyland is undergoing work from the ground up! Critter Country, which closed a few weeks ago, has had it's walkways torn up, and there is a lot of work being done. The reopeneing date of the land has been pushed back “to be announced.” – https://www.micechat.com/387375-disneyland-update-beautiful-fantasies-overwhelming-nightmares/ A new droid has come to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge to narrate the Season of the Force version of the fireworks. “Fire of the Rising Moons” debuted as an alternative musical score for the nightly fireworks in Batuu. An R-1 droid named Bard has now arrived to accompany the display with a narrative. Bard and the “Fire of the Rising Moons” show will continue after Season of the Force on nights with fireworks. – https://www.micechat.com/387375-disneyland-update-beautiful-fantasies-overwhelming-nightmares/ The Matterhorn is turning 65 this year, and Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar is getting in on the celebration. Starting June 1, Trader Sam's will offer a coconut-pineapple Dole Whip, wish a coconut shaving topping and blue and silver edible glitter mixed in. It will come in a special souvenir cup decorated with images of the Matterhorn. – https://www.micechat.com/387375-disneyland-update-beautiful-fantasies-overwhelming-nightmares/ Weeklyteers staying at the Pixar Place Hotel in the concierge level now have a place to hang out. The Club Level Concierge Lounge – named the Creators Club – has opened at the hotel. The lounge offers continental breakfast, wine and cheese receptions, beer, sparkling wine, hot bites, and desserts in the evening. A dedicated team of Cast Members are on hand to assist guests. – https://www.micechat.com/387375-disneyland-update-beautiful-fantasies-overwhelming-nightmares/ The Disneyland Fire Department was at the Mickey and Friends parking structure last week, but not for a fire. A pop-up experience from the department was open near the security line for guests to learn how to use a fire extinguisher. Participants would receive a button, sticker, and coloring page. – https://www.micechat.com/387375-disneyland-update-beautiful-fantasies-overwhelming-nightmares/ Fantasmic! Returns! – https://www.micechat.com/387375-disneyland-update-beautiful-fantasies-overwhelming-nightmares/ SnackChat: Pride Nite Dining packages announced – https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disneyland/pride-nite-dining-packages/ If you like the 7 Greens Gumbo with Chicken and Andouille Sausage from Tiana's Palace, then you are in luck! The Disney Parks Blog released the recipe from Disneyland for the dish. There are quite a lot of ingredients in this dish, which help give it all the flavor. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2024/05/disney-eats-7-greens-gumbo-with-chicken-andouille-sausage-recipe-from-tianas-palace/ Discussion Topic: Tage and James's Disney Cruise!

It's time for our most beloved Disney adult, John Stamos! That's right, this encore is all about Disney Adults, Disney Secrets, and of course Uncle Jesse. Have Mercy!Picture this, it's a beautiful day in Southern California, you're walking down Main Street USA, the smell of churros in the air, your favorite childhood songs are playing in the background, and in the distance you can even see the beautiful skyline of planet Batuu, Sleeping Beauty's Castle, and the frosty peaks of Matterhorn Mountain. Sounds pretty magical right? We LOVE Disney over here on BTIKP, but some stupid internet trolls just LOVE to hate on anyone who loves Disney as an adult. But, WHY?? Why does the internet get so heated when an adult likes Disney? This makes us want to scream louder than when we're being whipped around on Space Mountain. So we had to call in an expert on this one. This week we are joined by Disney superfan, and our favorite uncle, John Stamos, to chat about his love of Disney, his Disney memorabilia collection, and why people should have mercy with Disney adults. So put on your best pair of Mickey ears, because we're taking you on a ride to The Happiest Place on Earth!
