Dr. Dre, one of hip-hop's most influential figures, is facing a $10 million lawsuit from his former marriage counselor, Dr. Charles Sophy. The lawsuit accuses Dre of engaging in a sustained campaign of harassment involving threatening texts, intimidation, and homophobic comments. Dr. Sophy, a well-known psychotherapist, was hired by Dre in 2018 to facilitate mediation between Dre and his now-ex-wife, Nicole Young, during their tumultuous divorce. The couple, who had been married for 24 years, finalized their settlement in 2021. However, Dr. Sophy claims that the harassment began roughly 14 months later, taking him by surprise. "Rather than treating the mediation process as an opportunity for healing, [Dre] decided to take his frustrations about the mediation out on Dr. Sophy,” the lawsuit states. Sophy alleges that this was part of a “nearly year-long sustained campaign,” according to documents obtained by *Billboard* and *Rolling Stone*. The lawsuit highlights a specific instance in February 2023 when Dre allegedly sent Dr. Sophy threatening messages. In one text message, Dre reportedly warned the doctor that he would "have to pay" for something he had heard. Sophy states that he was “fearful for his life” following these texts and even felt compelled to wear a bulletproof vest for protection. The lawsuit also claims that Dre sent individuals posing as FBI agents to Dr. Sophy's gated community, allegedly attempting to enter his home under false pretenses. This incident left Dr. Sophy shaken, adding to his concerns for his personal safety. Dr. Sophy further alleges that Dre's threats were based on his sexual orientation, including homophobic rhetoric. According to *Rolling Stone*, one of the text messages from Dre reportedly read, "You're going to have to give me a written apology. If not, I'm moving forward. I'm not playing, trust me." The psychotherapist is not only seeking $10 million for civil harassment but has also filed for a court order prohibiting Dre from contacting him and is requesting a trial. As of now, Dre's legal team has not issued a public response to the lawsuit. Dr. Sophy's lawsuit brings serious allegations against Dre, who has a prominent reputation as a music mogul, producer, and entrepreneur. These claims, if proven, could have significant legal repercussions and impact Dre's public image. USA TODAY reached out to Dre's lawyer for comment on these allegations but has yet to receive a response. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Tighten your corsets Bad A$$ Business Bitches because Nicole Young is here to speak out for the FIRST TIME about the “cast mutiny” that she has caused at Selling Sunset. Amanda Lynn steps Behind The Rope. Selling Sunset's Amanda Lynn that is. The woman at the center of much of the drama of Selling Sunset Season 8 is here to break it all down. Amanda discusses the truth about how she got involved with this season, the lunch with Bre where she reveals the information about Chelsea's husband that set in motion much of the season's events and her current relationship with Bre after the many ups and downs of the past several months. Amanda chats real estate porn, her new 70M listing, other cast mates Mary, Chrishell, Chelsea and Emma, the other season long drama created by Nicole Young, her past tweets and those other real estate shows Owning Manhattan and MDLLA. Ending on a cliffhanger, Amanda talks about her potential future on Selling Sunset, whether Chrishell will return despite her claims she will never work with Nicole again and whether the cancelled reunion will have bigger implications for the future cast of the show the way it did for RHONY and RHONJ. Speaking of Real Housewives, we chat RHOBH, Erika Jayne, Heather Dubrow and last, but certainly not least, Dolores Catania. @amandalynnestates @behindvelvetrope @davidyontef BONUS & AD FREE EPISODES Available at - www.patreon.com/behindthevelvetrope BROUGHT TO YOU BY: JLO BEAUTY - jlobeauty.com/VELVET (Get 4 Free Masks and Free Shipping on Jennifer Lopez Beauty Products!!) This week Jodi talks with actress Elena Goode who stars in the highly anticipated HBO Max original series “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” from acclaimed executive producer / writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (“Riverdale” and “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”), now streaming on HBO Max. “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” begins twenty years ago, when a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart. Now, in the present day, a group of disparate teen girls — a brand-new set of Little Liars — find themselves tormented by an unknown Assailant and made to pay for the secret sin their parents committed two decades ago...as well as their own. Born and raised in Harlem, NYC, bilingual speaker Goode's first big break came at just 9 years old when she was discovered by a talent agent who ultimately booked her for a pizza commercial. Growing up with parents who were both philanthropic lawyers respectively, she was taught to save her money and that education was the most important thing she could give herself. She tested into the prestigious LaGuardia Arts High School and credits this experience as changing her life as it was a very socially aware and culturally diverse school. She attended FIT for college but missed acting and auditioning so decided to get back into it which is when she booked the soap opera “As The World Turns” – something that greatly impressed her Puerto Rican mother. She went on to film 192 episodes in 2 ½ years and was part of the first gay storyline on Soap television, playing a friend's “beard” on the show (who naturally in Soap fashion turns out to also be her relative). She moved to Los Angeles and in 2015 booked the role of Nicole Young, Dr. Dre's (Corey Hawkins) wife in the Academy Award-nominated film STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON. She additionally starred as ‘Ma' in the HBO Latino original film ELLIOT LOVES about Latino culture and a young boy coming out. In her free time, Goode is passionate about advocating for Ocean and Sea Life protection.

Recorded May 30, 2022Have you heard references about the Red and Blue Pill? What about the manosphere? How about this one, "toxic femininity"?There is a disturbing movement in full swing and we feel like we are just now grasping the depth of the issue and its potentially devastating ramifications on romantic relationships. Red Pill - Willingness to learn an unsettling or life-changing truth (about women)Blue pill - Remain in contented ignorance (about the women)The "truth" being referred to here is a profoundly negative perspective on the modern, independent woman. If what I'm learning is true, there is a distinct hostility among those in the dating world. It's the hustle.30:06: We take a brief intermission, but that doesn't mean the flight is goes blank with elevator music. We give you The TNLF Report w/ Ted Tuffer and Co Pro Smartz's take on Matrix Resurrections.39:31: We continue with Part 3 of the sit down with Corey finding out what does feedback look like in 2022 through the work ethic of Nassor Nuru. And Corey asks Nassor is the business of radio a dying business? 52:23: How important downloads are in 2022 according to Nassor Nuru. Is audio quality more important than quality of content according to Nassor Nuru. And why I disagree to visual podcasts... for now. She's asking for $2 million a month in spousal support in their divorce. Will she get it? How can she make her case? How should he make his case?Family law attorneys Billie Tarascio and Darin Colburn dish on the big dollar divorce plays between a music icon and his attorney wife, who have already made mistakes by leaving their divorce details in the public record. In this podcast, Billie and Darin talk about what the couple could do to get through the split, and what their potential courtroom plays could be.For those who are also divorcing (presumably with less money), you'll hear about some pro moves in this episode that could be used in any ugly divorce where money, privacy, and allegations of abuse are in play. This is especially important when dealing with the statute of limitations in your state and what that could mean for how money and property is split between parties.
