We are joined the week with Riley! Shinji Horseman: The Shinji Horseman Story, Chapter One" is the first episode of the first season of the American animated television series BoJack Horseman. It was written by Raphael Bob-Waksberg and directed by Joel Moser. The episode was released in the United States, along with the rest of season one, via Netflix on August 22, 2014.[1] The episode introduces the title character, BoJack Horseman, an anthropomorphic horse, living on residuals after starring in a 1990s sitcom, Horsin' Around. More than 20 years after the show's end, BoJack plans to return to his former celebrity status, and with the assistance of his agent Princess Carolyn, ghostwriter Diane Nguyen, and roommate Todd Chavez, tries to write a memoir.[2] @bustercagle @roxygreenmusic

As Kristen Meinzer (Movie Therapy, By the Book, Romance Road Test) observes, Anne of Green Gables does something relatively rare in media: it centers the story of an adopted heroine. Growing up in Minnesota, there were many aspects of Anne Shirley's character than Kristen saw in herself, for better and worse. She and Jordan unpack that, get meta about podcasts (Kristen did, after all, write the book on podcasting), and put an end to the myth that happy people don't have trauma (and traumatized people can't be happy). Then, honest to god, in honor of Tom Cruise's 60th, Jordan rhapsodizes about Cruise's turn as Stacee Jaxx in the ROCK OF AGES movie. This week Celeste takes a dive into the fiery birth chart of one Todd Chavez from the Netflix animated adult comedy Bojack Horseman. Celeste also gives a heads up about Saturn retrograde, if you weren't aware. Let her know if you like these little current transit updates! It was a pleasure to sit with Erin and her emotional support bisexual, Jess, to chat about Erin's coming into her asexuality. Erin chatted about how the isolation of the pandemic and the “youths of the internet” made it more accessible for her to come to a better understanding and pride in being ace. This chat was full of pure joy and power from Erin (and I, Lauren, use those exact words many times). There is something just so magical hearing someone so fucking in their element and this episode is just that. Erin spreads beautiful ace awareness, gives us some ace representation that we acknowledge is so lacking in the media (shout out Todd Chavez), and normalizes asexuality, while educating us that it is not what everyone assumes it is, it is not one thing, and it is magical. Part 2 continuing from last week's episode! Todd Chavez from Bojack Horseman is currently our favorite example of asexual representation in the media. We finish our discussion of Todd by reviewing seasons 4-6 including his relationships with Emily, Yolanda, and Maude.
Bojack Horseman. We went from hating it, to loving it, to enshrining it is as one of our all-time favorite pieces of media. In 2016, we watched in delight as season 3 teased an asexual plotline for audience-favorite Todd Chavez. And friends, it only got better from there!
SURPRISE! The season is winding down, and these weeks are the most important, so what to do when your podfellows are tied up with real life obligations? You take matters into your own hands, and record a solo episode with no editing from the top of the dome. Was there an outline? No. Were there multiple opinions? No. Did I play random music from my old iTunes library? YesThis episode may only stay up for a short time as it does hurt our crafted brand, but I wanted to get predictions in and tearfully say goodbye to Todd Chavez and his zany Clown Dentists.
"If you don't have self-love, then how can you love others". In this episode we are discussing Bojack Horseman, an animated Netflix original series that has recently come to an end with season 6. The show's success has mainly come from its relatable and digestible portrayal of mental health through its anthropomorphic characters. This is the first of a two-part episode where we're joined by Navendeep Gill a.k.a @blue_suit_production (a second generation Punjabi) to discuss the character development of Mr Peanutbutter, Todd Chavez and Princess Carolyn and how their story arcs reflect and depict real life mental health struggles. *SPOILER ALERT*
This hour, we talk about all things Bojack Horseman. In the words of Todd Chavez, "fool me once, fool me twice, fool me chicken soup with rice."
We're Back in the Saddle! Sorry folks, we explain it in the episode, but things just got busy for us both. But Of Horses and Men is back and the same quality as ever! We talk about cannibalism, external validation, animal metaphors and how cops aren't your friends in this high energy return episode of Of Horses and Men with Lesley and Ben. Hey folks, you know how we haven’t talked at all about what the people this animal world eat? Well oh BOY ARE WE ABOUT TO. In the world of Bojack Horseman, there are two competing chicken companies in Los Angeles, Chicken for Days and Gentle Farms. Gentle Farms asserts in its commercial that it’s against factory farming and that its chicken exist solely to be food - so there’s moral grey area. That’s not the darkest thing that happens in this episode. A chicken for days chicken escapes from custody during a car accident with Bojack - and wanders across Beverly Hills until Todd Chavez adopts her as his wife - Bok Bok Becca.
Todd Chavez has built a Disneyland. That’s the show. Following the success of his biography, Bojack Horseman finds that the fame he left behind a decade ago has resurfaced. Bojack finds that his dates are only dating him because he’s trendy and his restaurant and favorite watering hole have been flooded with tourists and fans. At a roller rink in the valley, Bojack meets Wanda, an owl TV executive who has just woken up from a thirty year coma. Bojack is enchanted by the fact that she has no idea who he is and they hit it off. Bojack finds himself in a romantic relationship with Wanda that starts to fall apart because of Bojack’s insecurities. Meanwhile, Mr. Peanutbutter and Todd get into a dispute over their ownership of somebody else’s intellectual property For this special episode, Ben and Lesley are joined by longtime Bojack Horseman fan, Candace Raphael! It's our first time recording with a guest!

They are concerned over what to print legislation on. Since Medieval times, Parliament has recorded its acts on sheep and goat skins made into parchment, and since 1849 only on vellum which costs Parliament $45 on an A4-size sheet versus 16 pence for archival paper. There’s much discussion and passion about the merits of paper versus vellum. Traditionalists say that the Magna Carta was printed on vellum. Britain’s House of Lords switched to paper in 1999. Laws and resolutions of the US government were printed on parchment until 1920. It appears that paper has won the battle so far but anything could happen still as we all know. https://www.wsj.com/articles/britains-next-pressing-question-paper-or-parchment-1494179108
