Tonight NBA Play In Tournament Chicago Bulls at Toronto Raptors, 7:00 p.m. Oklahoma City Thunder at New Orleans Pelicans, 9:30 p.m. NFL – AP source: Lions trade Okudah to Falcons for 5th-round pick A person familiar with the deal says the Detroit Lions are trading cornerback Jeff Okudah to the Atlanta Falcons for a fifth-round draft pick. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the deal had not been announced. Detroit drafted the former Ohio State star with the No. 3 overall pick in 2020 and injuries stunted his career. Hamstring and shoulder ailments limited him to nine games as a rookie and he had a season-ending Achilles tendon injury one game into his second season. Okudah stayed healthy and started in 15 games last season. NCAA – Big Ten – AP source: Big Ten taps ex-MLB exec Petitti as commissioner The Big Ten is hiring former MLB executive Tony Petitti to be its next commissioner. That’s according to a person with knowledge of the decision who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because a deal was still being finalized. An announcement is expected by the conference by the end of the week. Petitti replaces Kevin Warren, who is leaving to become president of the Chicago Bears. Petitti continues a trend of recent hires to lead the top conferences coming from outside college sports — like Warren, who came from the Minnesota Vikings in 2019. NCAAMBB – Michigan State forward Malik Hall returning for 5th season Michigan State forward Malik Hall has announced on social media he’s returning for a fifth season. Hall is the second Michigan State senior to return for a fifth year, making his announcement a day after standout guard Tyson Walker said he’s also taking advantage of the extra year granted to players during the COVID-19 pandemic. The return of the two starters provides experience to a Spartans roster that is primed to add two McDonald’s All-America selections in center Xavier Booker and guard Jeremy Fears Jr. The two are part of a highly rated recruiting class for the Spartans. WNBA – Brittney Griner working on memoir about Russian captivity Saying she is ready to share the “unfathomable” experience of being arrested and incarcerated in Russia, basketball star Brittney Griner is working on a memoir that is scheduled for spring 2024. Griner was arrested last year at the airport in Moscow on drug-related charges and detained for nearly 10 months, much of that time in prison. Her plight unfolded at the same time Russia invaded Ukraine and further heightened tensions between Russia and the U.S., ending only after she was freed in exchange for the notorious Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout. Griner’s memoir is currently untitled and will eventually be published in a young adult edition. Financial terms were not disclosed. The Lakers were missing LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Patrick Beverley and Wenyen Gabriel Wednesday in Toronto. Juan Toscano-Anderson, who started the game after barely hitting the court for most of the season, turned an ankle. So it's no surprise the Lakers found themselves down by 20 (give or take) relatively quickly, and for most of the game before ultimately losing by 13, 126-113. They didn't do anything wrong, really, and there were again some highlights (16 points for Thomas Bryant on only five FGAs, for example), but in the end, what happened was exactly what most people would have expected. So the Lakers are again four games under .500, looking at a gimpy LeBron, an under-the-weather A.D., an already-out Gabriel... is there a risk of losing the momentum they built up after winning eight of ten? Is there extra pressure to push through, trying to capitalize on the positive momentum they created, and got everyone so excited? How do the Lakers balance the long haul vs. the shorter term? Has the recent run of good play given them a little breathing room, or created a greater sense of urgency to push hard? What is the right benchmark for them to use , when considering their position relative to the rest of the conference? And how does all of this play into next week's big calendar milestone? December 15th is coming fast, when the NBA's trade market opens up and the number of players who can be traded (including guys like Beverley) increases considerably.HOSTS: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT 1: The Lakers are shorthanded, and predictably lost in Toronto Wednesday.SEGMENT 2: Has the exuberance around the recent run made long term thinking harder?SEGMENT 3: What is the right way of thinking about where the Lakers stand relative to the rest of the conference, as they make considerations around health and who plays?Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. or, Island of Bench-fit Boys; Ahoy-hoy Blue Ballers and welcome to another week of NYCFC madness. This week: Trey and Jake break down a 0-0 draw in New England against a team that, yes, should not have even been a question except for the NOTABLE absence of some major cogs. So instead we talk about the fresh new faces: Cacha Acevedo! Joe Scally! and a mysterious chap I can't remember seeing before known cryptically as "Treats!" He's got potential, but can he fit into Deila's system? Then: Higuain arrives on American shores just in time to catch Covid and lose what's left of his touch; and Maxi's out for four-to-six weeks, but don't worry, he'll be back just in time to limp us flaccidly into the playoffs just like every year. And finally, a quick precap of both Toronto (Wednesday) and Cincinnati (Saturday) and the many routes Deila might take us down for the rest of the season. Get out of the pool; it's 55 degrees, it's Fall, and you've got Blue Balls.

Pop the corn and fizz the soda because the show is about to begin! On this week's episode of Guys We Fucked, Corinne and Krystyna sit down with comedian JC Best and shit gets heated. JC walks us through his life growing up in the church where interracial dating wasn't allowed, his homosexual act outs, and the conversion therapy he signed up for to try and stop them. Sure, JC is cool with spending $50 on porn to toss into a dumpster after a single viewing, but he's not ok with gay marriage and he'll tell you all that plus why women should submit to their husbands. YEAH, THIS EPISODE IS NOT GONNA RELAX YOU BUT OH WELL SUCH IS LIFE. PLUS: What your boyfriend does when you're at your work for too fucking long. **PLEASE RATE & REVIEW US ON iTUNES!!
