Detroit Tigers News: The Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins played a straight doubleheader on Saturday at Comerica Park in Major League Baseball action. Minnesota Twins won the first game in extra innings after scoring 7 runs in the 12th after Alex Lange walked the go ahead run home and Zach McKinstry committed a costly error allowing three more runs to score. Kerry Carpenter slugged his 2nd home run of the season while Colt Keith had two more RBI's to continue his strong start to his rookie season. Kenta Maeda turned in his best performance of the season with 6 innings of work allowing 2 runs, 1 earned run while striking out 5 and avoiding surrendering a free pass in a no-decision. Minnesota Twins starter Joe Ryan had a masterful performance on the mound striking out a career high 12 while throwing 6 innings surrendering 1 run and 3 earned runs.
