Tez and Chip talk to Scott Bowman, master Lego builder and space nerd, about his cool NASA themed builds and all things LEGO. Plus the Jsutins are back at work, Clarence Thomas is a corrupt scumbag, Judges are banning lettuce, and the WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM is freed from Dan Snyder.

Cissa Paz Singer-songwriter Cissa Paz has made a name for herself in Washington DC as an eclectic performer influenced by the local jazz sounds and her Brazilian African-Indigenous background. Nominated for 3 Wammies, her debut album gained great organic momentum. Cissa's captivating stage presence and soulful voice bring music that is upbeat and engaging. She's known and loved among the lovers and dancers of Brazilian music not only as a performer, but as an ambassador of her genre. Her music a combination of Afro-Brazilian base with funky and soulful influences. A musical melting pot of fresh collaborations with highly acclaimed artists from her home country. Born in Belgium by chance, Cissa was raised mostly in Rio de Janeiro. She began her musical love affair by spending afternoons with the sounds of Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Elis Regina and other Brazilian greats coming from her parents' record player. She would get home after school and rush the vinyls, memorizing all her favorite lyrics. She absorbed every note, riff, and samba beat. Her musical tastes matured as she kept sampling the musical landscape of the world. Cissa's sound is influenced by afoxé, forro, maracatu and the popular music of Brazil. Later on, she became more interested in the big rock stars like Led Zepplin, Guns and Roses, Alice and Chains to name a few. A even later, after moving to the U.S. at age 17, she fell in love with R&B, Soul and Hip Hop. There's no end to the possibilities of interesting rhythms and prose that will emerge from her upcoming projects. A world traveler, Cissa immersed herself in the musical culture of five continents. She performs songs in Portuguese, Portuguese Creole, Spanish, French and English. Currently living in DC, her musical passion has turned into a full blown career. Cissa has blessed audiences, venues and festivals around the East Coast. Her voice, spirit and presence meld into a delicious blend delighting audiences everywhere. Her current focus is on her her solo project, with which her album is expected to be released in the Summer of 2014 – she has joined forces with some contemporary Rio de Janeiro-based musicians and they are currently writing and arranging a new repertoire to perform around the world. At age 18, Jon Carroll was a founding member of Starland Vocal Band, recording the #1 Pop hit “AFTERNOON DELIGHT”. The group went on to be nominated for 5 Grammy Awards, winning 2: for Best New Artist & Best Arrangement for Voices (One of Jon's roles in the group). Since then, he's has not slowed down as a performer, composer, arranger, producer, songwriter and musician. His works have appeared in films, commercials and episodic dramas and comedies, and he is highly sought after studio session performer appearing on many recordings. His songs have been covered by artists such as Linda Ronstadt (Her 80's hit “Want Love? Get Closer!), Tom Jones and Kenny Rogers, and he's the long-time keyboardist/vocalist band member with Mary Chapin Carpenter, with touring stints for countless others including Rodney Crowell, Dixie Chicks, Peter Wolf and Eric Lindell. His work has been recognized repeatedly over the course of many years by the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA), which over the years has awarded him over 20 "Wammies" for Vocalist, Instrumentalist, Songwriter and Song of Year. As a songwriter, Carroll has been likened to artists as disparate as John Prine and E. Annie Proulx, with songs as insightful as they are rhythmic and soulful. He's an in-demand hired hand, and performs as well with his own band, but to hear Jon perform solo in an intimate setting is an all too rare treat! BUY (You Gotta) Stand Up! On today’s episode, I will not do the talking, except on the intro. I will share with you short audio clips of Wammies Conferences and Award Ceremony held at Decades DC Club and Lincoln Theater on March 30 and 31, 2019. I had the opportunity of networking, talking to musicians, and music advocates, as well as other people that are related to DC’s music scene. I want to thank (SHOUT-OUT) Mercy Chikowore for making all these happened and Jeffery Tribble, Jr., for bringing back the Wammies and his hard work on music scene and our younger generation. Roll that beautiful bean footage! We're talking all things hip-hop related with the Grammys including: The removal of XXXtentacion from the "In Memoriam" segment, Drake being cut off, the backlash of Cardi's win, BET dragging Nicki Minaj, and heated debates about "This Is America" and "God Plans". All while fukking up commas in this description.
