Today's episode is very much a mixed bag as I get into the weeds with ABT bream/bass tournament angler, Womens Recreational Fishing League member and lure customiser Laurie Anderson about fishing for bream in the Yamba area. Laurie shares some awesome tips for targeting bream from pontoons, rockwalls and reefs in the Yamba area, but we also get into some interesting conversations about her passion for custom painting lures for her own use and for a growing band of customers. Then we delve into what's what in the world of the Women's Recreational Fishing League. ______________ There are contact links in the show notes for anyone interested in having Laurie customise some lures for them. Those interested in customising their own lures, there is a resource in the Team Doc Lures Members area, along with members-only episodes, tools and resources to improve your fishing. Pleae consider supporting the Australian Lure Fishing Podcast by becoming a member today! Check it out at https://team.doclures.com ______________ Laurie mentions that Pro Lure Clone Prawns are one of her go-to lures when fishing the Yamba area for bream. They're one of my favourites too, so I'm offering great deals for anyone wanting to load up with some soft prawns: https://team.doclures.com/product/pro-lure-clone-prawn/ Laurie also uses and recommends Tonic Sunglasses, and there are awesome deals on the entire Tonic range over at Team Doc Lures: https://team.doclures.com/product/tonic-polarised-sunglasses-package/ For full show notes, links to contact Laurie and more, go to the following link: https://doclures.com/yamba-bream-laurie-anderson

Heath Scotland was recruited by Collingwood from the Western Jets with pick 44 of the 1998 draft, and played in 53 games with the Pies. He featured in the 2002 and 2003 Grand Final losses to the Brisbane Lions.Crossing to Princes Park for the 2004 season, Heath would best be known for his time at Carlton. His versatility in being able to play through the midfield as well as off half-back, as well as his sublime skills, courage and consistency, meant that he was a vital cog in the Navy Blue side for over a decade, particularly in 2012, where he won the John Nicholls medal.Following retirement, Heath then returned to local footy, including as coach of Darley in the Ballarat Football League. In his first season with Darley in 2017, he coached the club to a flag, and a few years later found himself as the Development Coach at North Melbourne before falling victim to the soft cap cuts brought on by Covid 19. Heath is currently the coach of Sunshine in the WRFL and is heading into his second season in 2022.

This week our podcast hosts divide up the state of Kentucky as Ginny Tonic takes on the Bourbon Classic (Louisville) and Charlie celebrates the 30th anniversary of WRFL 88.1 FM (Lexington). It's a weekend filled with cocktails, food, personalities and music that comes your way in podcast form LOADED with stories. From there, they tackle a short discussion segment where Ginny considers the evolving nature of new distilleries. Next, for this week's Bottoms Up, they try two single barrel bottles of bourbon hailing from two different distilleries (New Riff and Belle Meade), but both started life as sourced bourbon from MGP. We close with event recommendations and then send you on your way for the next seven days.
This week is all about jobs within the industry. We begin by celebrating Ginny Tonic's new career with Heidelberg Distributing as she begins her new life as a Spirits Market Manager. After that, we move in the complete other direction for a discussion covering when a bar owner might need to remove someone from behind the stick firing them. Of course there are spirits sampled, stories told and so much more as another Charlie Tonic Hour rumbles your way.

This fifty-fourth episode of the Philosophy Bakes Bread radio show and podcast is our eleventh "breadcrumb” so far, this time featuring only a humorous radio spot that we recorded for the station, WRFL, to play throughout the week to promote the show. We had a lot of fun making this little promo, which features Weber's 3-year-old son Sam. If you'd enjoy a chuckle, give this, our shortest breadcrumb, a listen. While putting together this show takes a tremendous amount of work and some resources, we hope you can tell how much it's been a labor of love, the Philo- part of Philosophy! If you enjoy this breadcrumb, share it with your friends, be sure you've subscribed to the show, and give us a positive rating and review on iTunes or your podcast outlet of choice! As always, you can reach out to us on Facebook @PhilosophyBakesBread and on Twitter @PhilosophyBB; email us at philosophybakesbread@gmail.com; or call and record a voicemail that we may play on the show, at 859.257.1849. Changing it up this month to a mix recorded live on WRFL.FM or WRFL 88.1 if you live in the Lexington, KY area. This mix starts with a slower tempo, distressed message and some deep beats and moves into a faster tempo when the “struggle” starts to turn around. Check it!
Rob Theakston and I met many, many years ago in Detroit, though I honestly don't recall the when or how. But I'll bet almost anything that HE does, and it probably involved an extended conversation about music of a widely varied nature, fine whiskey, and The West Wing. He has always been a full-throated supporter of his friends, whether it's of their art, or them as individuals (he has definitely been a life coach for me on *many* occasions). Not to mention, he's a fine artist in his own right. Check out the Thinkbox collective to find out more. Some years ago, he moved to Lexington, KY where he's working for the University down there (he just ended his Sunday night radio show on WRFL), married his lovely wife Stephanie and, is in the process of fulfilling his destiny to be deemed Worlds Greatest Dad by his now 1 year old son, Rhodes. So, settle in for a nice treat courtesy of one of the best guys I've had the pleasure to call my friend. Thank you, Rob for the wonderful selections, and for everything you have done for me over the years. Rob also wanted to send out special thanks to TBT and the WC Calcutt Foundation. And I, as always, thank you for listening.
