A whole lot has happened since the last episode of ModChat, and there's still been a few topics not covered within this episode! For the ones we do go into, the first is covering some major progress on the PlayStation Home revival project Home Laboratory, which is now available by default on the XMB for the latest PS3HEN and Evilnat CFW users on PS3! The PS3 also gets some renewed Hypervisor related interest in the form of BadHTAB, which is based on old HTAB related work from geohot and has been worked on here again in 2025. The Xbox 360 side of house gets more love, with Sonic Unleashed being ported to PC thanks to XenonRecomp, both of which have been released. The OG Xbox gets a fancy new payload in the form of Skeleton Key which serves as a Swiss Army Knife for stock OG Xbox users to run and quickly have several powerful tools available on their screen with minimal effort. Finally, a new FATXplorer tool releases in the form of XDON, allowing for easy Xbox and Xbox 360 drive mounting over a network.

This episode was recorded on-site at TAPPI's 2025 Student Summit in St. Petersburg, FL. More than 300 attendees—including pulp and paper engineering students from 13 different universities—enjoyed panel discussions, a Career Fair, and Engineering Challenge, and so much more. We asked students to "take the mic" to host their own interviews and share their unique voices. Our first guest hosts are Tabitha Newberry, Katelyn Gyurich, and Shelby Conley, three students studying Paper Engineering at Western Michigan University. "I think my favorite part of student summit is making connections," says one of our students, as they discuss what makes this industry truly special. Their enthusiasm for TAPPI is contagious... and they may just have the next billion-dollar idea in specialty tissue. Next, Jacob Levesque, a chemical engineering student in the pulp and paper program at the University of Maine, interviews TAPPI's own Sidney Onyekwere, Standards Project Coordinator, about the tremendous knowledge-growing possibilities for students within the Standards and TIPs process. "We offer a Swiss army knife of knowledge and information—there's something for everyone," Sidney says. This is the second of two episodes hosted by student volunteers at the 2025 Student Summit. Subscribe today to Better Together and share this episode to spread the word about the amazing opportunities available to students who choose a career in pulp, paper, and packaging.

What does it take to become a "Swiss Army Knife of Disability Advocacy"? For John Feller, it began with the birth of his son with autism who is now 16 and nonverbal. His journey from confused parent to national advocate reveals the profound challenges and unexpected gifts that come with raising a child with disabilities. The path wasn't always clear. John candidly shares his initial struggle to accept his son's diagnosis and find his footing as a father when traditional parenting roles were upended. "What I struggled with in the beginning was finding my role," he explains. "I couldn't be the breadwinner, I couldn't manage all the therapies—so who was I as a parent, as a husband, as a father?" This identity crisis eventually led him to discover his true gifts in advocacy, networking, and relationship-building.Education presents particular challenges for families navigating disability. John offers valuable insights about the realities of public versus private schooling, cautioning parents not to be deceived by appearances: "Anything looks good on a website." His family ultimately made the difficult decision to place their son in a residential facility a thousand miles from home—a choice requiring tremendous surrender but proving beneficial for their son's development.Communication with a nonverbal child requires creativity and patience. Through a combination of body language interpretation, basic signing, and assistive technology, John has found ways to connect with his son. He emphasizes the importance of addressing individuals with disabilities directly rather than speaking about them as if they aren't present: "He doesn't speak, but he does hear."The conversation takes a powerful turn when John discusses the vital importance of community support. Having transitioned from feeling completely alone to building a national network, he now helps other families find their lifelines. His work with Joni and Friends, a global Christian disability ministry, allows him to help churches create welcoming environments for people with all types of disabilities—visible and invisible.Looking toward the future, John confronts the reality many special needs parents face: what happens when they're no longer there? With his son being an only child, creating intentional community becomes even more critical. Who will check on him, celebrate birthdays, or simply offer a hug?Whether you're navigating disability personally or seeking to better support those who are, John's story offers profound wisdom about finding purpose through unexpected challenges and building communities that sustain us through life's most difficult journeys.Let me know what you think of this episode? Bruce Springsteen's song Glory Days lyric, “Boring stories of Glory days yeah, they'll pass you by” pops into my head sometimes, when I hear a speaker reminiscing about their glorious past. I was sitting there at a chamber function when the speaker began to talk at length about his start in sales and his experiences. It was fascinating for him no doubt, but it made him sound dated. He seemed to have become covered in dusty cobwebs too all of a sudden. Talking about ourselves is great and dangerous at the same time. Usually when we speak, there will be our introduction done by the hosts. If we are on the ball, we don't place ourselves in their hands, so we write what we want them to say. That doesn't mean they are on the ball and can carry out a simple task. If we make it too long, the hosts usually manages to murder it by dropping bits or getting things wrong. I am always astonished that they cannot successfully read a piece of paper with words on it. The audience is also on danger alert because they know the propaganda offensive is about to hit them. It is hard to write about yourself though, because there are so many things you want to include. Why is that? We are desperate to establish our credentials with the audience, so that they will become more accepting of what we are saying. We believe that volume is important so we should cram as much in there as we can. In fact, we are defeating our own efforts because either the host mangles the text or the audience switches off. Avoiding the chronology approach is always a good start. Sometimes these details are included in the programme flyer and you don't need to mention them at all or you can organise your own flyer for the attendees. This is a good tactic and not hard to do. When we are speaking about ourselves, we should focus on the key points only. These are the things which relate to our expertise on this specific topic. I am a 6th Dan in Shitoryu karate, which is wonderful, but probably doesn't have anything to with a topic like presenting. I could instead say this is my speech number #342 and that would be congruent with establishing I am a real world expert of the dark art of public speaking and have the experience required to tell others how to do it. Often we are using powerpoint, so we can bring up some slides about our company. This should also be brief. Simple clear slides are what we want and the selection of information should be limited to the most powerful USPs or unique selling points of our firm. Slide after slide makes an audience restless. They are sitting there thinking, “enough already, get on with it”. When I worked for a long established Australian Bank which was rather unknown in Japan, I would show a photograph of the establishment of the first branch back in the 19th century. It was a black and white photograph with people dressed in the fashion of the Victorian era and it oozed with longevity. I also attached the date in the Japanese Imperial reign format, rather than the Gregorian calendar, to make it seem even more ancient and venerable. That one photo showed my Japanese audience we had stood the test of time and could be trusted with their money. The CEO cowardly public speaking escape route of reliance on the souped-up corporate video at the start of the talk should be avoided at all cost. These videos are rarely a good match with the specific topic for that day, because there is usually only one video. It has to be the Swiss Army Knife of propaganda videos, to travel around the world boring people of every persuasion. If there is a particular section in the video which is really powerful, then just cue that part and don't bother with the left over detritus. Giving our own examples is a good idea in the talk, but again, we have to steer away from too much recalling of our glorious triumphs. The audience is only interested in how what you are telling them will result in their own glorious triumphs, now and into the future. We have to get a balance struck between talking about ourselves for effect and not for the stroking of our own massive speaker ego. Where possible, use client examples of what you did for them, rather than droning on about what you did. It is a tricky equation of how much is too much, which bits are more important than other bits and how much time should I allow for it. Err on the side of caution and go minimalist, recalling Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, “less is more”.

Tell us what you think of the show! Sponsored by OATIThe energy industry loves a shiny new object.Distributed energy resource management systems, or DERMS, land squarely in that bucket. The software's ability to autonomously control and communicate with millions of potential devices, while facilitating power market participation, could be the Swiss Army Knife the energy transition so desperately needs. It's also a key enabler of virtual power plants, which have received a fair amount of hype on their own. But this rapidly growing market has created an environment of ambiguity. Even the acronym, DERMS, doesn't have a clear industry definition, creating an opportunity for half-baked solutions to cash in on the optimism. So what's real?In this episode of the Factor This podcast, Linda Stevens, the chief strategy officer for smart grids and smart cities at OATI, joins me to demystify DERMS. Get ready, adventurers, because the RPGBOT.Podcast is diving deep into the latest Unearthed Arcana for D&D 2024. This time, it's all about the Artificer, and the updates are so game-changing they might just qualify as magical tinkering on steroids. We're breaking down the Drain Magic Item ability—yes, the Artificer can now convert magic items into spell slots, effectively turning "resourceful" into an art form. The new rules for infusions and the Replicate Magic Item feature let you conjure common magic items at level 2, while rare ones have to wait until level 14. Battlesmith fans might be mourning a few losses, but the class's overall versatility is better than ever. In this episode, we talk about what works, what feels awkward, and why features like Right Tool for the Job might need a little extra fine-tuning. We also dig into why the Artificer has solidified its place as the Swiss Army Knife of adventuring, ready to save the day with creativity and clever mechanics. Don't miss this discussion—whether you're here for the strategic breakdown or just want to laugh at our attempts to pronounce "homunculus" correctly. Tune in now wherever you get your podcasts! Summary In this episode, the hosts tinker with the latest Unearthed Arcana release from Wizards of the Coast, spotlighting the Artificer class updates for Dungeons & Dragons 2024. They break down the changes to spellcasting mechanics, the revamped Infusion feature, and the flashy new "Drain Magic Item" ability, pondering how these tweaks might supercharge Battlesmiths and reshape gameplay strategy. The conversation doesn't stop at mechanics—they explore what the updates mean for character development, subclass diversity, and the art of outsmarting your DM with magical gadgetry. Along the way, they examine how the Artificer's changes align with broader trends in D&D design, share thoughts on the class's evolution, and speculate on future possibilities (spoiler: more subclasses, please). If you've ever wondered how to balance a bag of holding full of spell-storing items or why concentration mechanics are your worst enemy, this episode is for you. Tune in, and discover how the Artificer's shiny new toolkit might just redefine your next adventure! They explore the significant changes introduced in the playtest, focusing on how these updates impact gameplay and the class's overall role in the game. Key features like the new Drain Magic Item ability stand out, allowing Artificers to convert magic items into spell slots, adding a strategic layer to their utility. Other updates include adjustments to Replicate Magic Item, which now allows Artificers to create any common magic item starting at level 2, while delaying access to rare items until level 14 for better balance. The ability to change cantrips on a long rest has been extended to Artificers, increasing their adaptability in various scenarios. Meanwhile, the changes to spellcasting focus require infused items, creating new considerations for character planning. The hosts also discuss the potential downsides of the revisions, such as the removal of certain options for Battlesmiths and the diminished utility of Right Tool for the Job. They emphasize how these updates reflect a broader effort to refine and modernize the class while noting the mixed player reception. The conversation highlights the importance of clear mechanics, balanced features, and rewarding gameplay experiences, especially as players evaluate the Artificer's evolving toolkit. While the updates show promise, the hosts agree that more refinement is needed to ensure the class remains engaging and versatile, particularly through the introduction of new subclasses and impactful capstone abilities. On this week's episode of Local Legends, Martin is joined by the absolutely lovely, incredibly talented writer, folklorist and podcaster Dr Icy Sedgwick, whose show Fabulous Folklore is absolutely brilliant. While her podcast has been running for nigh-on six years, Icy has been blogging about folklore for much longer, and she has written several books, including the excellent Rebel Folklore: Empowering Tales of Spirits, Witches and Other Misfits from Anansi to Baba Yaga, which came out in 2023. Though that collection is only the very tip of the "Icy-berg" as she has also published short story collections, novels and novellas in an array of genres, from Westerns to Fantasy books to Gothic horror, and many others. In terms of the ‘Dr' bit, Icy's PhD is in Haunted House movies, which, if you weren't already convinced, makes her, firstly, super-cool in an of itself, and, secondly, a very Three Ravens-y type of person. An expert in folklore, ghosts, and a diverse range of genre fiction? Yes please! Moreover, for our purposes this week, Icy is the perfect person to speak to about Northumberland as she was born there, is still resident there, and she has lived in the county for almost all of her life, developing detailed and ranging knowledge of the county's heritage and stories. So, settle in for a good ol' chinwag which covers so many topics, from life as a jobbing writer to the joys and challenges of discussing folklore on social media, Icy's capacity to bend time, and some wonderful stories, from Silky, Northumberland's Swiss Army Knife-ghost, to The Laidly Worm, the Simonside Dwarves, and all sorts of other appropriately fabulous stuff. To learn more about Icy, read her blog, buy her books, and find links to he social media channels and the Fabulous Folklore Podcast, do visit her website at www.icysedgwick.com.And otherwise, we will be back on Monday with our brand new County Episode, where we will be digging into the history and folklore of Cheshire! The Three Ravens is an English Myth and Folklore podcast hosted by award-winning writers Martin Vaux and Eleanor Conlon.Released on Mondays, each weekly episode focuses on one of England's 39 historic counties, exploring the history, folklore and traditions of the area, from ghosts and mermaids to mythical monsters, half-forgotten heroes, bloody legends, and much, much more. Then, and most importantly, the pair take turns to tell a new version of an ancient story from that county - all before discussing what that tale might mean, where it might have come from, and the truths it reveals about England's hidden past...Bonus Episodes are released on Thursdays (Magic and Medicines about folk remedies and arcane spells, Three Ravens Bestiary about cryptids and mythical creatures, Dying Arts about endangered heritage crafts, and Something Wicked about folkloric true crime from across history) plus Local Legends episodes on Saturdays - interviews with acclaimed authors, folklorists, podcasters and historians with unique perspectives on that week's county. With a range of exclusive content on Patreon, too, including audio ghost tours, the Three Ravens Newsletter, and monthly Three Ravens Film Club episodes about folk horror films from across the decades, why not join us around the campfire and listen in?Learn more at www.threeravenspodcast.com, join our Patreon at www.patreon.com/threeravenspodcast, and find links to our social media channels here: https://linktr.ee/threeravenspodcast Get bonus content on Patreon Hosted on Acast. What if there was one piece of fitness equipment that was affordable, didn't take up much space, could get you both strong and flexible, and was fun to use? While that might sound too good to be true, my guest, Pat Flynn, would say you can find all those benefits in the old-school kettlebell. Pat, who's the author of Strong ON!: 101 Minimalist Kettlebell Workouts to Blast Fat, Build Muscle, and Boost Flexibility―in 20 Minutes or Less, calls kettlebells the Swiss Army knife of workout tools and the minimalist's ultimate secret fitness weapon.Today on the show, we unpack why Pat's such an advocate for bells, but before we get there, we first take a dive into his background in philosophy and why beginning a workout program takes faith. We then talk about how to use kettlebells to get an all-around fit physique, including the three kettlebell weights that make for an ideal starter set, the two best exercises for building muscle, the pyramid-shaped program that can facilitate body recomposition, how to incorporate progressive overload into kettlebell training, which kettlebell exercise Coach Dan John considers “the fat-burning athlete builder,” the “300 Swings Challenge” that will help you take a Bruce Lee approach to fitness, and much more.Resources Related to the PodcastAoM Article: Become Strong Like Bull — The Kettlebell WorkoutAoM Article: How to Perform 4 Kettlebell Exercises — An Illustrated GuideAoM Podcast #295 — Kettlebells and the Psychology of TrainingAoM Article: Strength, Power, Conditioning — How to Master the Kettlebell SwingConnect With Pat FlynnStrong ON! websiteKettlebell Quickies YouTube ChannelPat on IG

Marc hosted Chandrashekar LSP, Managing Director for Zoho Southern Canada, in a wide-ranging conversation about Zoho's transformative impact on businesses, its comprehensive suite of products, and its unique approach to fostering connections with users through events like Zoholics Montreal. The discussion touched on Zoho's product ecosystem, AI innovations, global reach, and how user feedback shapes its roadmap. Zoho's Event Success: Zoholics Montreal Chandrashekar LSP shared the success story of Zoholics Montreal, a user conference that attracted over 750 attendees, including Zoho employees, partners, and customers. The event provided structured learning tracks, one-on-one sessions, and an interactive Experience Center, where participants connected directly with product experts. These events help Zoho gather real-time user feedback, influencing its product roadmap and fostering deeper relationships with its community. Zoho's Product Ecosystem Marc described Zoho as an “operating system for business,” offering tools like CRM, social media management, landing pages, and analytics. Chandrashekar revealed that the average Zoho One user employs 23 apps, with CRM, Analytics, Customer Support, Campaigns, and Accounting being the most popular. He also highlighted Zoho's ability to localize products for regional needs, such as Kenyan and German editions of Zoho Books. Zoho's Approach to AI Zoho's AI strategy emphasizes contextual intelligence tailored to business needs rather than relying solely on large language models (LLMs). Chandrashekar explained how Zoho's AI-driven tools enhance workflows, such as identifying sentiment in customer tickets or optimizing sales outreach timing. Zoho's privacy-first approach ensures that AI learns from a business's unique data without compromising its proprietary information. Marc praised Zoho's unified AI ecosystem for its utility in empowering small businesses. Global Presence and Localization Zoho boasts over 100 million users worldwide, providing insights from diverse markets to shape its product offerings. Chandrashekar highlighted Zoho's localization capabilities, including HR systems and accounting tools adapted for regional requirements like e-invoicing in African and Middle Eastern countries. Data Privacy and Sovereignty Chandrashekar discussed Zoho's commitment to data privacy and sovereignty, sharing plans to expand its independent data centers, including in Canada, to comply with laws like Quebec's Law 25. Unlike competitors that rely on AWS or Azure, Zoho operates its own data centers, reducing risks of cyberattacks and ensuring compliance with local regulations. Customer-Centric Innovation Marc and Chandrashekar explored how user feedback from events like Zoholics and community forums shapes Zoho's product priorities. While some requested features are quickly implemented, others may take years due to the complexity of Zoho's extensive product ecosystem and its focus on strategic integration. Future Goals Zoho's immediate priorities include simplifying business operations, improving compliance with local regulations, expanding global data centers, and enhancing its BI (Business Intelligence) platform. Chandrashekar emphasized Zoho's vision of becoming the ultimate “easy button” for businesses, providing an all-in-one solution for operational needs. Last week, I came across a fascinating article in the New York Times Magazine. Kim Tingley, in her article “‘Nature's Swiss Army Knife': What can we Learn from Venom ?” writes about the incredible potential of highly toxic reptile and insect venom to provide pharmaceutical miracles. It turns out that reptile and inspect venom contains hundreds, even thousands of molecules, which each have the ability to act in powerful ways on the human body. In the aggregate, the venom can have disastrous consequences. But applied strategically and sparingly, these compounds can make a world of difference. Take, for example, the wildly popular weight-loss drugs Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and Zepbound. These drugs were created from research into a venomous reptile called the Gila monster which lives mostly underground in southern Arizona and northern Mexico. It's a very striking lizard—typically they have a black head and matching black tongue, black legs, and a tiger-like pattern of orange and black down their back and tail. And they are highly toxic. If you Google them after shabbos, you'll find a bunch of stories of people who have lost their lives to chance encounters on hiking trails or from bites from Gila monster pets. Gila monster venom had been screened back in the 80s, but when gastroenterologist Jean-Pierre Raufman and endocrinologist John Eng re-screened it, they discovered a molecule that had been previously overlooked which resembled a hormone that regulates insulin in healthy humans. That molecule, which they called Exendin-4, is the basis for these weight-loss drugs which have so transformed the medical landscape. Learning about this research and these medicines made me wonder—what would happen if we were able to look at the toxins in our lives with the same outlook? There is no universe where we would see all the misfortunes of our lives as helpful or even healing, but would it ever be possible to get to a place where we could see elements of the challenges in our lives as having blessed us with possibility?

My guest today is the human Swiss Army Knife, Yuk Chi Chan, who has packed more into the last decade than many people do in a lifetime. Yuk Chi is the founder of Charter Space, the first British space company to graduate from the Techstars Space Accelerator. Before that, he served as an officer in the Singapore army (hmm, so maybe I should have described him as a Singaporean Army Knife) and practiced as a space lawyer (it's funny how much cooler being a lawyer becomes when you preface it with the word “space”). Suffice to say, Yuk Chi knows a lot about space. We had a blast discussing how ‘ownership' of territory really works, why the sector impacts our daily lives FAR more than we think, and the mind-boggling mission of an intrepid robotic space snake. Host Bob St.Pierre visits with Matt Holland, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever's vice president of grant development and a wildlife biologist, about the organization's public land creation efforts in celebration of Build a Wildlife Area Week. The organization first created a public wildlife area in 1986. Since that time, PF & QF has worked on 1,810 different land acquisitions covering 229,846 acres of permanently protected habitat for wildlife. Those acres are now open to public recreation, including hunting. Episode Highlights: • St.Pierre approximates that Holland has played a role in the creation of 100,000 acres of public wildlife areas during his 28-year career with “The Habitat Organization.” In an oddly funny comparison, St.Pierre goes on to equate Holland to being a Swiss Army Knife and how sometimes he must be the blade and other times the toothpick to help facilitate a land acquisition. • Holland shares news of $300,000 in matching contributions to help incentivize donations from listeners interested in becoming “Public Land Creators.” • To learn more about PF & QF's Build a Wildlife Area program and to get your hands on a new limited edition coffee mug, please go to www.PheasantsForever.org/BAWA or www.QuailForever.org/BAWA to learn more. onX Hunt is a proud supporter of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever and they want to thank everyone who gives back to the birds we all love to hunt and the places they call home. Every father needs the right tools to raise his kids well, and Kent Evans likes to use the analogy of a Swiss Army Knife. His main blades include asking thoughtful questions, seeking wisdom from others, and staying rooted in God's Word. Tune in now to discover why anger isn't an effective parenting strategy—and what you should do instead. Key Takeaways Be curious and seek wisdom from the men you know. Your boys need to hear you acknowledge your weaknesses and imperfections. Don't connect your apology to your child's behavior. You don't need to have a sex talk with your son; you need to have an 8-10 year conversation. As dads, most of our anger is not righteous anger. Kent Evans Kent Evans is the Executive Director and co-founder of Manhood Journey, a ministry that helps dads become disciple-makers. He's a Christian speaker and author of three books. Kent and his wife, April, have been married for 29 years and have five sons. Key Quotes 24:36 - "Odds are, the vast majority of things that make you angry are unbiblical, unwise, and unproductive. Let's go explore those together and see what God's Word has to say about it. Because for me, I have discovered over time that there there is a way to look at life through a far less angry lens and to be able to call my anger out when it happens in a way that's more healthy, albeit sometimes more painful. And I just hope I can get some dads to join me on that that journey. Because frankly, we hear from dads all the time who say their number one struggle is anger." 32:51 - "Let all, not some, let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Anger is not to be managed. It is not to be controlled per se, although we should have control over our mouth and our spirit. Anger is to be put away. As we look at it, it's a very challenging topic because our culture and our modern era and our access to news that doesn't matter. Proverbs 16, whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty and he who rules his spirit, then he who takes a city. Do you have governance over your spirit? Can you rule your spirit? Can I rule my spirit or does my spirit rule me? And we just find anger lurking in the shadows so often, almost every day." Many of us know we should be investing for our retirement through accounts like a 401K, but how many of us also have a brokerage account? Think of a brokerage account as a Swiss Army knife for your financial life. It can help you save for retirement, invest for the short-term, and even handle unexpected financial challenges.
