Introducing the 125 Roller Coaster Challenge - Trimmed & Stapled Podcast We know what you are thinking, ”Great another podcast about roller coaster top ten lists and ride debates”. Well yes, sort of... While Trimmed & Stapled will include our thoughts and opinions on the best hyper coasters we have ridden, which Disney parks has the best theming, and which wooden coaster needs to become the next RMC hybrid, we would also like to take a different approach. Each week we will spend about a half hour discussing our journey while we try to ride 125 new credits a season. So along with our lists we want to share our experiences, tell you why we choose to visit a particular park, why we did the coasters in a particular order and our journey from being GP to actually proudly calling ourselves enthusiasts. 125 Roller Coaster Challenge started out as a family adventure and each week we want to share that with you because when it is all said and done, the best memories come from the people who shared the ride. Trimmed & Stapled debuts on December 1st, 2020 and will have a new adventure every Tuesday. Come share the ride with us
Yes, we are back after a LONG break and this episode let's you know why. We also discuss the first five parks that we visited in 2023 which include Kings Dominion, Fun Spot America Orlando, Sea World Orlando, Fun Spot America Kissimmee and one of our top three parks, Busch Gardens Tampa. Why were we gone? Is Iron Gwazi still our top roller coaster? Did we ride Pipeline at Sea World Orlando? Is Fun Spot America Orlando still one of our least favorite parks? and is Mine Blower really in need of the RMC treatment? So many questions and this episode answers all of them and slightly more (maybe one more, we lost count). Thanks for sticking with us and we can wait to see you in the queue all summer long Let's Get Social Instagram - 125rollercoaster Facebook - 125rollercoaster Twitter - 125rollercoast (no ER people) TikTok - 125rollercoaster and our MONETIZED YouTube channel (subscribe, you know you want too) is @125rollercoaster New Videos Uploaded Daily

As our journey continues in the 2018 season, we had a few local park visits between our Sesame Place trip and our journey out west but we did pick up a few left over coaster credits along the way. Dorney Park, Knoebels, Great Adventure and Kentucky Kingdom has a coaster each that we missed in 2017 when we visited but in this episode we give these "Forgotten Four" a little love. Thanks for checking out this episode which gives us a nice little break before we dive into our Simply the Best Episode which discusses out top 50 coasters from 2022. Last week we talked about the 26 roller coasters that caused us pain so now it's time to talk about the one's that give us joy. Sit back and relax while we discuss our top 100 coasters from 100 to 51. This is the longest podcast episode we have ever done but it will be well worth the listen. We will be discussing roller coasters fro Hersheypark, Dollywood, Lake Compounce, Cedar Point, Busch Gardens Tampa, Morey's Piers, Seabreeze, Knoebels, Six Flags New England, Kennywood, Kings Island, Six Flags Darien Lake, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Waldameer, Silver Dollar City, Lakemont Park, Carowinds, Six Flags America, Disney's Magic Kingdom, Casino Pier, Kings Dominion, and even La Ronde. Each coaster gets a little love as we go through the rankings and let us know in the comments if you agree with the rankings. Thank you again for all the support these last five years and we can't wait to see you in the queue in 2023.
The new year is upon us so it is time for our roller coaster rankings and like last year, we kick it all off with our "Ouch" list which is the 25 (in this case 26) worst roller coasters we have ridden. This is a double episode because we breakdown the coaster styles, which parks have these coasters and even discuss the 8 coasters who have left the list either because we got better rides on them, or which is more likely, we found worst coasters to ride. So sit back, grab a drink, and get ready to throw us a lot of comments because some of this picks will be controversial and we are ready for the debate. Next week we will start our "Simply the Best" list with our top 100 to 51 coasters so let us know your thoughts and we can't wait to see you in the queue in 2023 Let's Get Social We are closing in our our 1000 subscriber on our YouTube channel so if you like what we do, please consider subscribing to see all we did in 2022 and all 50 parks we are hitting in 2023. https://www.youtube.com/@125rollercoaster

We discuss our day at this park along with a full park walk through so if you ever wanted to visit this iconic Philly area park, sit back and enjoy this episode. Next week is 2023 so you know what that means, we will start discussing our coaster rankings and we kick it off again with our Ouch series. As Paul hits the 50 milestone, his goal is to visit 50 parks in one year and this episode continues where episode 108 ended with the next 25 parks on the target list. Some are local, some are parts of planned trips and even some are crazy day trips but all in all, listen to this episode to see where the 125 Roller Coaster gang will be next year (and will be filming for the YouTube channel). Did we miss a park you want us to visit? Are there parks on this list that we shouldn't even waste our time with? Let us know in the comment section and have an amazing holiday season. Yes we are a little late with our Q episode this month but hey, we have been working a lot on some projects so better late than never. In this episode we are discussing not only our local holiday events but answering some listener questions and this month they are pretty good. 1. Where do you think Wildcat's Revenge will rank in the Hersheypark coasters and in RMC's overall? 2. Meal Plans - Are they worth it? 3. What else is there to do in the Hershey area? See, these are pretty good questions and we are answering them along with updating everyone on what is going on with our YouTube channel now that we are starting to run out of daily content. Enjoy this episode and our next two episodes feature : Our second part of our 50 for 50 parks we are planning on visiting in 2023 and our Sesame Place episode featuring Vapor Trail and Oscar's Wacky Taxi Let's Get Social : 125rollercoaster - Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok 125rollercoast - Twitter Have an amazing holiday season.
It's Thanksgiving and we know a lot of our listeners are on the road traveling to get some turkey for the holidays so we decided to throw together a cool ERT episode giving everyone a sneak peek into our 2023 plans. In June of 2023 Paul is turning 50 so what better way to celebrate the entire year than to visit 50 different amusement parks. Some will be new, some will be local, and some might be a pipe dream but all in all in this episode we will be discussing 25 of the 50 that are on the agenda for the new year. Check out this episode with a lot of surprises and a lot of fun and give us your thoughts on these 25 and give us some guesses on what the next 25 will include. We are already six episodes into season three and we finally got to our first new amusement park to discuss. Well, is it really an amusement park or is it a family fun center? This is for you to decide as we discuss our trip to Adventure Park, USA in Maryland. Now a family fun center has a lot to offer children, teens, and adults alike and have become pretty standard. Whether you like Laser Tag, Rock Walls, Arcades and even Rope Courses, family fun centers have all that and some great pizza to boot. So what makes Adventure Park USA different is the fact that they have all of that AND an entire outdoor section with three roller coaster credits. Now we got your attention!! Once you step outside you have two adult coasters and a kiddie coaster, Scrambler, Tilt-A-Whirl, a carousel and even some gem mining like a lot of smaller amusement parks. Are you starting to see our point, this is either a small amusement park or the greatest family fun center in the world. No matter what you think, this park is a must visit for everyone. You can buy a pass or just get the tickets to ride the attractions you want. Enjoy this episode featuring this unique park and all it has to offer. Our next episode will be dropping on Thanksgiving and will feature a quick discussion on 50% of the 50 amusement parks we are visiting in 2023 when Paul turns.............. you guessed it...........50. One of our most popular segments we created for season 2 was our Brake Run Talk monthly segment where we talked with other coaster and amusement park enthusiasts about what they are passionate about and this year we are kicking it off with a live feed and discussion with Austin and Owen from Park Hoppers Radio. This is one of the newer podcasts in the amusement park / coaster enthusiast realm but their passion for the hobby is intense. In this episode we will be discussing with Austin and Owen what got them into the podcast business, what makes their podcast different, their favorite trips, snacks, flatrides and more. Make sure you check out their podcast wherever you get your podcast from (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc....) and let us know what you think of our Brake Run Talk segments and who you would like to hear from next in December. As you know we kicked off our 2nd year doing our 125 Roller Coaster Challenge riding Twisted Timbers at their media day so we figured, maybe we can be one of the first riders on Cedar Point's newest roller coaster, Steel Vengeance. We found out that Lebron James was holding a first rider benefit and we got our butts down to Cedar Point to attend. This episode tell you about that event along with our thoughts on one of the top ten roller coasters in the world (yes we are serious, this is a must ride for anyone who loves roller coasters). So why is this episode called Steve? Think about it, look at the name and think about it. Let's Get Social 125rollercoast = Twitter 125rollercoaster - YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and more Rumble is gone. You asked for it, you finally got it. Finally an episode where Paul isn't the only voice out there, yes Janine is back and in this ERT episode we catch up with her and find out where she has been (hint, it's her happy place). Yes, Janine just got back from Disney World and she will be updating us on what is new and exciting at the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios (yep, she rode Guardians). While she has been gone for a bit, she is still a major part of 125 Roller Coaster Challenge and will be popping in and out of the podcast at least once a week. Season 3 is in full swing and in this episode we are revisiting Six Flags America while discussing the Six Flags chain (where is was, where it was going, and where it is now). Six Flags America is a park on the Maryland side of DC and it does not get the love it deserves. We went back to get a coaster credit we missed in our first year (yes a kiddie coaster but our 2nd and 3rd year of the 125 were very shameful on our coaster counts) but we discuss what has changed over the years at this under appreciated park. The second half of the episode discusses what is going on with the Six Flags chain as a whole, our thoughts and what we see for the future of this large amusement park chain. We would love to get your feedback so make sure you leave comments for us to respond too. Season Three kicks off with our first event in 2018 which was the Media Day event for King Dominion's newest roller coaster, Twisted Timbers. That's correct, we somehow got invited to spend a March Day at King's Dominion and become one of the first riders of this amazing RMC coaster (currently our favorite coaster for 2021). Now did we get permission because we are famous podcasters? well no. Was it because we had 10k followers on Facebook? Sure... Was it because we had a Make A Wish credit? not ever close. We got to attend this media event because we were and still are members of ACE (money well spent). So we kick off the season discussing the event, this amazing coaster, and much more. Today's coaster style ERT is one that everyone loves, and everyone hates, and heck, everyone LOVES to HATE and that is the Vekoma Boomerang model. Yes, these cloned rides are all over the US and even the world but for today we will be discussing and ranking the 13 that we have had the "pleasure" to ride over the past five years. While the stats are all the same, not all boomerangs are created equal. We will be discussing the two at Six Flags New England along with the one's at Six Flags St. Louis, Worlds of Fun, Hersheypark, Morey's Piers, Lake Compounce, Six Flags Great Escape, Kings Island, Dorney Park, Canada's Wonderland, Carowinds, and Six Flags Darien Lake. Some are inverted, some are modernized, and some are even 200 ft tall. Some might even be a new credit (looking at you Jolly Rancher Remix). The summer amusement park season is coming to an end here in the Northeast and most of the parks will be shifting to weekend only hours (hence the name) so in this episode we are discussing which parks we visited, which we still need to hit in September, and of course three listener / viewer questions. We talk about our experiences and of course the rides and food. When we finished we reflected on some other roller coasters we had the opportunity to ride together before the adventure and they included rides from Hersheypark, Knoebels, Kings Dominion, Cedar Point and even Dutch Wonderland. As August starts to fade into autumn and the amusement park summer season comes to a close, it's that time of year where the amusement parks start to announce their 2023 attractions. This ERT episode will focus on the announcements from the Cedar Fair chain. If you are not familiar with Cedar Fair, they own 11 different amusement parks in the US which include : Cedar Point, Valley Fair, Dorney Park, Knotts Berry Farm, Carowinds, Kings Dominion, Kings Island, Michigan's Adventure, Worlds of Fun, Canada's Wonderland, and California Great America. While not all of these parks will be getting new attractions, we will be discussing all of them along with the new Season Pass options that some of the parks are also receiving. Cedar Fair is an amazing chain and even though this won't be the greatest year in their history, the attractions coming are exciting. As our second season comes to a close, there was one more park we visited after our Morey's Piers adventure and that was Playland's Castaway Cove in Ocean City, NJ. Even though we visited this pier that has four coasters on it, we only rode one, the new for 2017 S&S coaster called GaleForce. This short episode discusses the park and how this new attraction was riding it's first year (not perfectly). 2017 was a huge year for us kicking off our 125 Roller Coaster Challenge and we ended our adventure at this seaside amusement pier. As we finish up our second season the past month had one thing in common, the Jersey Shore so in this ERT Paul & Janine (yes she is still alive) discuss the amusement piers they have visited and of course rank them. The piers include Coney Island (yes it is technically NYC but for this episode we are considering it Northern North NJ), Jenkinson's Boardwalk, Casino Pier, Steel Pier, Gillian's Wonder Pier, Playland Castaway Cove, and Morey's Piers. It has finally arrived. Yes this episode was promised almost two months ago but after a lot of research and so many different scripts, we have finally got you the Doo Wop episode which is a brief history of not just Morey's Piers, but the amusement piers of Wildwood, NJ. Why are we putting it that way? While Morey's Piers is what we currently have on the Wildwood Boardwalk, in the late 70's and 80's (i.e. when Paul was a kid), there were six piers operating and in this episode we will be discussing the "lost piers". Who remembers Hunt's Pier (also known as the NEW Hunts Pier, Conko's Party Pier, and finally Dinosaur Beach). How about the Hellhole and Meteor from Sportland Pier? How about the Nickel's Midway Pier with it's Dracula's Castle and two roller coasters. The more we dug into the history, the more we learned and remembered, even digging through old photos to prove that there were some lost credits in the past. Kick back and enjoy this highlight history of Wildwood which turned into a true labor of love. Our 2022 coaster season is in full swing and with it being the beginning of the month, it's time to let you know how our July came out and what our goals are for August as our summer starts to wind down. Paul was all over the Northeast this past month with stops at Six Flags Darien Lake, Niagara Amusement Park (actually mostly their Splash World), Land of Make Believe, Casino Pier, Dorney Park, Hersheypark, Jenkinson's Boardwalk and Storybook Land. So many new parks (and coaster credits were had). So enjoy this episode and find out what adventures await in August (and which coaster is lining up to be their 350th coaster). While we continue to have writer's block when it comes to our Morey's Pier history episode, Doo Wop, here is another chapter in our "revisited" themed episodes and this one focuses on our home Cedar Fair park, Dorney. The 2022 season is in full swing, actually we just hit the midway point of the year and it's time for our Q episode. So where did we go in June? What do we have planned for July? What is our favorite water park? Yep, this episode let's you know about our adventures at Hersheypark, Knoebels and CLEMENTON PARK!! Yep, it is back and we will let you know all about this park. Also we are looking at visiting eleven parks in July. As we finish season two we are already looking ahead to some new ideas for season three and one of them is the "Revisited" monthly segment where we go back to parks we did when we started the 125 Roller Coaster Challenge five years ago and see what has changed. While we were going to kick this off in September, Paul had his birthday where he went back to our home park of Hersheypark and rode all 13 coasters so it just made sense to do this episode now. So what has changed in the past five years, well when it comes to Hersheypark, a lot is an understatement. Whether it is turning Reese Cup Challenge into Cupfusion, adding a water coaster to the Boardwalk, and even adding a 200ft B&M coaster while making a Vekoma Boomerang into a pretty fun experience, this park has done a lot. On top of that, Paul will be discussing all the coasters and which have gotten better (looking at you Sooper Dooper Looper) and which need to simply go (you know who we mean, we don't have to say it out loud). So what have we been up to? Glad you asked. Our May and early June schedule was pretty solid and we got to revisit a lot of our local parks. Even though we went there to enjoy the rides, food, and fun, we also got A LOT of content for our new YouTube channel (yep, we are hyping that again). In this episode we discuss the following : 1. How are the two new Jolly Rancher themed rides at Hersheypark? 2. What's new at Dorney Park and how is Steel Force and Thunderhawk riding this season? 3. Why is Knoebels so awesome and why are the daily hours so short in 2022? 4. Why we don't have a Medusa shirt to give away and did Six Flags Great Adventure get a Home Depot credit card with all the new paint they are using? 5. Which of the tens of questions we get every month did we decide to answer in this episode of the Q? All that an more will be discussed on this weeks episode. Don't forget to get social with us. How? We are back!!! Did you miss us. We are sorry for the almost month delay in getting you out this episode but we know it was worth the wait. Morey's Piers has some great roller coasters but to not have an episode about the food and the flat rides would be a sin. This episode discusses each pier and highlights both of these aspects. We also throw in some information about the two water parks for good measure. Highlights include : Zoom Phloom, Dante's Dungeon, Giant Wheel and of course Curley's Fries. Thank you for enjoying what we do here and we promise not to disappear like that again anytime soon. Next week we are going over our Summer Time Q discussing our trips to Hersheypark, Dorney Park, Knoebels and Six Flags Great Adventure and don't miss our conclusion on Morey's Piers with a brief history lesson called "Doo Wop" Let's Get Social!! Our final Brake Run Talk for our second season is one we have been excited for since we started our journey in 2017. Paul welcomes The Legend from In The Loop. We have been huge fans of these guys since we first watched their videos as we planned our first trips and even today when we want to check out a new park, learn about a new zoo, or even figure out what a cruise is all about. While all of the guys at In The Loop are fantastic, we love when Legend and Molly are showing us new merch, where the places are for the best drinks, and how to get all of our credits quickly. We ask him how In The Loop started, How all the guys became part of the group, upcoming trips (hint, they are heading to Europe soon) and many other things. As we wind down our second season, we are honored to have had the opportunity to take with Vince, Gabby, Chris, and The Legend this season and can't wait for our new Brake Run Talks in Season 3. Yes, it took 84 episodes but we finally got to our 125th roller coaster and it was at the amazing Morey's Piers in Wildwood, NJ. While we won't tell you in the description which coaster got that honor, we will tell you which coasters we rode that day and will let you know we did a Facebook poll and they picked the winner that day. Also the park was simply amazing and made us feel like VIP's that day with ride passes, exclusive ride on our 125th coaster and even a history book which will come in handy for our third episode we are doing in two weeks about the history of these piers. So which ride will it be? Flitzer which is now defunct How about the original boomerang Sea Serpent (it isn't a clone if you are the first) Great White which was the last CCI coaster ever built Doo Wooper because who doesn't love a mouse themed to a 1960's hamburger stand Fly the Great Noreaster which is the best SLC ever built (mainly because it was rebuilt) or Rollies Coaster simply because it is a cool name. Enjoy this episode as we reveal which of these coasters will forever be in our hearts as our 125th coaster credit. Next week we will discuss the food and flats at this seaside amusement park. Let's get Social Instagram / Facebook / Rumble = 125rollercoaster Twitter - 125rollercoast YouTube - We have 166 subscribers and 45k views in the past 6 weeks, are you one of them? You asked for more and of course we are going to listen. This week we have another coaster style episode focusing on those classic steel coasters, the mine train. We have been lucky or unlucky enough to ride ten of these classic rides and they include : Trailblazer - Hersheypark, Runaway Mine Train - Six Flags Great Adventure, Dahlonega Mine Train - Six Flags Over Georgia, Big Thunder Railroad - Disney Magic Kingdom, Carolina Goldrusher - Carowinds, Cedar Creek Mine Train - Cedar Point, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train - Disney Magic Kingdom, Thunderation - Silver Dollar City, Adventure Express - Kings Island, and River King Mine Train - Six Flags St. Louis. We will discuss each coaster, the pros and cons and of course we will be ranking them in the end. Some are great rides while others actually have made our OUCH episodes in the past. Let us know your thoughts on these amusement park staples. Next Episode kicks off our three part on Morey's Piers in Wildwood New Jersey discussing the coasters (past and present), the food and flats and even the history of this seaside amusement resort. We went to a lot of parks in April and they include : Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Hersheypark, Six Flags America, Six Flags New England, Kings Dominion, and even Quassy. As our first year with the 125 Roller Coaster Challenge comes to an end, our 125th roller coaster is in sight. We set up this New England trip (Six Flags New England, Quassy and the subject of this episode, Lake Compounce) with having Boulder Dash as our 125th coaster. Does that happen? Did we make some mistakes during this trip? Find out in this episode. Also this episode will discuss the roller coasters of Lake Compounce along with a full walk through focusing on the food, flats, and the beauty of this Connecticut park. So will Lake Compounce be a disappointment or will we reach our goal of 125 coasters on this fantastic summer day. Let's Get Social. When we were starting our journey in 2017 we watched a lot of YouTube channels to get an idea of what we were getting ourselves into and on the top of that list was Airtime Thrills. We have always loved his rankings, his knowledge, and of course his passion for amusement parks and roller coasters. So when we reached out to him about our little podcast and he agreed to sit down with us and do this episode, we were beyond, well thrilled. Enjoy this episode where we discuss what got him interested in starting a YouTube channel, where he is taking the channel and of course his thoughts on his top flat rides, amusement park snack, and which YouTube influenced him as he started. If you want to see the video version of this interview, check out our YouTube Channel at 125 Roller Coaster Challenge where we are quickly catching up to him in subscribers (he is close to 65k and he just became our 125th subscriber). This episode we are bringing back the style, the coaster style episodes that is. In the past we discussed hyper coasters, inverts, and even launched. Today we are talking about our favorite RMC coasters. For those who don't know, RMC stands for Rocky Mountain Construction and they are some of the inventive coaster in the past ten years. These coasters are all over most coaster enthusiasts top 25 and it is the same for us. Today we will be discussing the following coasters and at the end ranking them (just because that is what coaster nerds like Paul do). Storm Chaser - Kentucky Kingdom Steel Vengeance - Cedar Point Twisted Timbers - Kings Dominion Wicked Cyclone - Six Flags New England Iron Gwazi - Busch Gardens Tampa Twisted Cyclone - Six Flags Over Georgia Lightning Rod - Dollywood Outlaw Run - Silver Dollar City Jersey Devil - Six Flags Great Adventure So this is the episode that we have gotten a lot of requests for so we always want to give our listeners all we can. Our first year of the 125 Roller Coaster was about one thing, getting to 125. While we have made a few mistakes in our first year (you will hear the big one soon) we have a few regrets also and one of them is we did a few hit and runs in 2017. What is a hit and run? We would run into a park (usually one of the smaller ones) and get the credit and go. We did that with Waldameer, we did it with Conneaut Lake Park, and we did it with the subject of this episode, Quassy Amusement Park in Middlebury CT. We ran into this park because we knew this was the day we were going to get our 125th roller coaster credit at another park so we came and went within an hour to grab Wooden Warrior at 121. We have since learned a lesson from doing this which is you have to come and enjoy these smaller parks because they truly are hidden gems. So in this episode we will be talking about some of the history of Quassy, we will talk about Wooden Warrior and do a walk through of this historic park. But as a bonus we will also be discussing our YouTube channel and what type of videos we are focusing on and we will finally let you know our thoughts on Relief Band. Yes, we have finally given this device a decent test and we are not going to hold back. If you get motion sickness like Paul, this is a must listen too. Let's Get Social. Welcome to part two of our Six Flags New England episodes. Today Paul & Janine will be discussing the Flats, Food and Fun as we walk through this great Six Flags park. Highlights will include : Where can you get Mac & Cheese in a Bagel Cone Is there a place where you can get the perfect view of the Connecticut River? Is there any rides without a DC license? We will be going over all the stores, food locations, flat rides, and even the theaters in this episode so this is a must listen to if you are planning on adding this park to your 2022 travels. Our journey to 125 roller coasters returns with our first ever trip to the New England area and a visit to their flagship park - Six Flags New England. In this episode we go over why we compare this park to Kennywood while answering the following questions. How did Superman The Ride win 5 Golden Ticket awards? Are there any roller coasters at the park not named after DC characters? and Are RMC coasters really that good? Yes, we are a bit late (okay, about two weeks late) on getting this ERT out but we now know how important Paul is to the process. Yep, he got the flu and it messed up the entire process. The good news is that he is back and he finally got this ERT edited and ready to go. The 125 Roller Coaster Challenge is based in the mid atlantic and because of that, their coaster season usually does not launch til April but this year was an exception. Trips to Busch Gardens Tampa, Sea World Orlando, Universal Studios - Islands of Adventure and even Busch Gardens Williamsburg have already occurred and because of that, Paul got to ride three to the newest and most anticipated coasters of the year. Yes, Paul in a three week span got to ride VelociCoaster, Pantheon, and Iron Gwazi and in this episode, he will review them and give you the correct (yes correct) order for these amazing coasters. Do you agree? Let us know!! How?? Well let us tell you. Let's Get Social!! Our first episode of Brake Run Talk discusses Six Flags Great Adventure with fellow coaster enthusiast Vincent Viola. This is Vince's home park and while Paul & Janine know Great Adventure pretty well, Vince will provide some incites along with stories and tidbits about this Six Flags flagship on the east coast. We love this park and having Vince as a life long insider gave us some amazing tips such as where to find the best meal, what was Batman & Robin - The Chiller like, and of course our mutual love of El Toro. Brake Run Talk is a monthly episode of the 125 Roller Coaster Challenge - Trimmed & Stapled Podcast and will be live on Facebook & YouTube. An audio version will be released on the podcast and can be found wherever you get your podcasts. The final leg of our epic Florida trip takes Paul for the first time to Universal Studios - Islands of Adventure. Yes, he was there to enjoy this stunning and perfectly themed park but he was also there to get three big credits (yes, he left Flight of the Hippogriff for another trip). In this episode he will answer the following : Is Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure worth the triple digit wait times? Is Incredible Hulk a launch or looping coaster? City Walk, could there be a better place to go on a Friday night? Which island is his favorite (it's a tie but not what you think they would be) Does he even know anything about Harry Potter and does it really matter at Universal? and of course, does VelociCoaster live up to the hype? Paul fought the President's Day crowds to explore this amazing park and he has some thoughts, but we all want to know yours. Tell us your favorite island. Your favorite flat ride? Where do you like to eat at when there? How can you let us know? We have a double episode for you this week. While today was supposed to be part two of our Florida trip featuring Sea World Orlando, it's also the first of the month which means our Q is due. Those familiar with our podcast know the Q is where we discuss what we did the past month and our plans for the new month (with some listener questions thrown in) and this episode is no different (just Janine is missing). Our first half of this episode fulfills your Q needs but the second half about Sea World Orlando will keep listening. Not going to lie, Sea World Orlando started off on the wrong foot with three major issues in the first two hours. Is this park giving La Ronde a run for their money on our least favorite park? Mako, Kraken, and Manta might have something to say about that and let's not forget the newest credit this park has, Ice Breaker. Full review of the day, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Let's get social Instagram / Facebook - 125rollercoaster Twitter - 125rollercoast YouTube - 125 Roller Coaster Challenge (a lot of new shorts to check out) We can't wait to see you in the queue in 2022
Yes, we know this episode is a day late but we have a good excuse, PAUL JUST CAME BACK FROM FLORIDA!!! This episode is part one of a three part series focusing on this trip. Paul went to Sea World Orlando, Paul finally got to Universal Islands of Adventure, and the focus of this episode, Paul went back to Busch Gardens - Tampa and he got to ride IRON GWAZI. Yes, he will be discussing this amazing new RMC but he will also be answering some additional questions. How is the Mardi Gras events at this park? How is the paint job going for Montu? Do people actually like Tigris? and is Kumba still the king of the B&M rattle? Paul got to spend two days at this amazing park and got over 15 rides on the new purple tracked beauty thanks to having a Plat pass (the episode name is starting to make sense now isn't it). Will Iron Gwazi live up the hype? Is it better than Steel Vengeance? How does it compare to VelociCoaster? Check out this episode and we can't wait to share part two of this adventure entitled "Breakin the Ice" Let's Get Social YouTube - 125 Roller Coaster Challenge - your home for shorts and coasters Instagram & Facebook - 125rollercoaster Twitter - 125rollercoast We met a few of you guys on this trip, we can't wait to meet you in the queue in 2022
When our listeners have a suggestion or a really cool idea, we love it and will make sure we cover it. A month ago we had a suggestion from an anonymous listener on the Audible platform (we actually didn't know we were on it) who asked us our thoughts on the next RMC conversion which is a fantastic subject so here you go. Which current roller coasters do we think RMC should turn into the newest Twisted Timbers, Steel Vengeance, and of course Iron Gwazi? While you have to listen to the episode to hear the coasters, here are the parks that get mentioned : Morey's Piers, Indiana Beach, Hersheypark, Mt Olympus, Silverwood, Universal Orlando, Dutch Wonderland, and numerous Cedar Fair, Sea World and Six Flags parks. We go over the Dinn and CCI coasters that would make good layouts along with five parks we think need an RMC. Finally we give your our top 5 (actually 6 because Janine mentioned one that Paul forgot about). So you love RMC coasters, this is our thoughts on who might be next to be CONVERTED. Can't get enough of Paul & Janine? Check out the BXG Podcast episode 81 where they sit down and discuss Cedar Point, Top Coasters and of course the sad history of Geauga Lake Amusement Park. We had an amazing time being interviewed and make sure you follow our friends at BXG Podcast if all your cultural insights and fun. Next week's episode will focus on Paul's recent trip to Busch Gardens Tampa and Sea World and will have his opinions of the parks and of course Ice Breaker and Iron Gwazi. It will come out on Thursday due to being out of town (hard to pre record this episode when you have to ride them first). Love to meet you and will be at Busch Gardens Tampa on the 18th and Sea World on the 22nd. Let's get social!!! Now that all the Top Coaster lists are done it's time to get back to our journey to 125 different roller coasters and we ended our first ever western road trip at Waldameer in Erie, PA. This park is special not only because it is the 10th oldest operating amusement park in the United States, but because this small park proves that a regional / neighborhood park can survive in today's mega corporate world. Nestled along the Lake Erie coast, this park had a beauty all of it's own. This episode will discuss the history, flat rides, food, their amazing water park (Water World) and of course the coasters. While we are only creating one episode for Waldameer, we hope that after listening to this one you are ready to check it out in 2022. The excitement has been building, at least for Paul & Janine...... okay, maybe just Paul but it's finally time to share with the world our top 25 coasters as of 2021. Our little adventure has 320 credits in the last four years so these top 25 coasters are truly the best of the best. While we don't want to spoil the episode, here is a list of the parks where these coasters reside : Dorney Park (we know, we are shocked also), Sea World Orlando, Dollywood, Kentucky Kingdom, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Carowinds, Hersheypark, Kings Dominion, Busch Gardens Tampa, Cedar Point, Knoebels (we bet it's Flying Turns), Six Flags Over Georgia, Kings Island, Six Flags New England, and Six Flags Great Adventure. Now we know this list is going to be controversial but like the great Craig Ferguson says, "We Look Forward To Your Letters" We love getting feedback so make sure you let us know what we got right and where we were WAY off.
