Run,Talk,Run is a mental health running group. Providing a group 5k at a pace everyone is comfortable with. It has been running (excuse the pun) since 2017, building itself to create 100s of groups talking and moving their feet, all with one purpose, to aid mental health. Whether it is theirs, others, or both. Ash is one of the run leaders of the Sheffield group. We discuss how he came to be a part of RTR, why he does it and how it matters to him. As a person that has joined several RTR in the past, I have experienced first hand how they help simply by showing up and listening as feet are shuffled forward. The group leader's accountability shows up every week even when no one attends, and is a beacon of light of care and reliability. Ensuring they are leaving people just that little better than they found them. Thank you Ash for joining me and all those listening. If you wish to find Ash or Run,Talk,Run please visit their Instagram or their website runtalkrun.com and find your local group. #mentalhealth #running #runtalkrun

One of our most popular segments we created for season 2 was our Brake Run Talk monthly segment where we talked with other coaster and amusement park enthusiasts about what they are passionate about and this year we are kicking it off with a live feed and discussion with Austin and Owen from Park Hoppers Radio. This is one of the newer podcasts in the amusement park / coaster enthusiast realm but their passion for the hobby is intense. In this episode we will be discussing with Austin and Owen what got them into the podcast business, what makes their podcast different, their favorite trips, snacks, flatrides and more. Make sure you check out their podcast wherever you get your podcast from (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc....) and let us know what you think of our Brake Run Talk segments and who you would like to hear from next in December. Sometimes you just happen to get lucky and are standing on the starting line to a local fun race and just happen to be standing next to a local running legend. That is what happened to us a few weeks ago when we met our next guest Mike Beeman. Mike has currently run 45 straight Boston Marathons and yes that's very impressive, but there is so much more to Mike's story. From walking off the football team, not telling his basketball coach that he planned to run a marathon in the middle of the season, to tearing both his quadricep tendons at the same time and being told he'll never run again. Part 1 is here and its filled with Boston Stories, next week Part 2 will have some of Mike's most proudest moments as he shares how he was able to use running to help others.Plus Eric's little girl Adaline makes a quick podcast appearance, Erika wishes Eric happy birthday and Eric starts to build a plan to his next few triathlons.
On The Runs is back with part 2 of a mini series featuring Scott Black and his Road to Kona journey. We visit Scott at his home and he shares his stories of attempting to qualify for the Ironman World Championships in Kona. You'll learn during this mini series that nothing comes easy for Scott, every race is a learning experience from losing his salt tablets to having zero control of his bodily functions. In Part 2, We go back to Mont Tremblant for redemption and then to Cozumel Mexico for what should have been the icing on the cake, little did Scott know what was about to happen to him. Eric and Erica also discuses the recent Memorial Day weekend, plans for the month of June and Erica makes a commitment to finally watch Top Gun. Still can't believe she's never seen it in the first place!
Our final Brake Run Talk for our second season is one we have been excited for since we started our journey in 2017. Paul welcomes The Legend from In The Loop. We have been huge fans of these guys since we first watched their videos as we planned our first trips and even today when we want to check out a new park, learn about a new zoo, or even figure out what a cruise is all about. While all of the guys at In The Loop are fantastic, we love when Legend and Molly are showing us new merch, where the places are for the best drinks, and how to get all of our credits quickly. We ask him how In The Loop started, How all the guys became part of the group, upcoming trips (hint, they are heading to Europe soon) and many other things. As we wind down our second season, we are honored to have had the opportunity to take with Vince, Gabby, Chris, and The Legend this season and can't wait for our new Brake Run Talks in Season 3. When we were starting our journey in 2017 we watched a lot of YouTube channels to get an idea of what we were getting ourselves into and on the top of that list was Airtime Thrills. We have always loved his rankings, his knowledge, and of course his passion for amusement parks and roller coasters. So when we reached out to him about our little podcast and he agreed to sit down with us and do this episode, we were beyond, well thrilled. Enjoy this episode where we discuss what got him interested in starting a YouTube channel, where he is taking the channel and of course his thoughts on his top flat rides, amusement park snack, and which YouTube influenced him as he started. Jess is an advocate for making running less intimidating - without care for pace, without care for PBs - she believes running can simply be a means to connect with our peers. We have a wonderfully honest conversation talking about her own issues with eating disorders during her teenage years, how bulimia is a chronic condition that needs to be managed, the importance of personal responsibility online as well as food and exercise as tools for health as well as harm. Please do check out Jess’ website and if you’re experienced in grant writing or fundraising I think Jess would welcome the opportunity to talk!Enjoy the show!Check out The Doctor's Kitchen website for full show notes on this and all other episodes See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
