Many of us have been walking out our calling for a while, and over time, we've accumulated programs, products, and responsibilities that have cluttered our original purpose. In the beginning, our calling is like a cute baby tiger—exciting and manageable—but as it grows, if not carefully tended, it can kill us. In the same way, our calling can become overwhelming when burdened with things we've added, things others have added, or elements that are outdated. God is calling us to make 2026 a year of simplicity. In 2026, it's time to erase—remove the parts of the vision that don't belong; declutter—let go of products, programs, and services that are outdated or off-mission; and focus—devote ourselves only to what aligns with our true purpose. If you ask most Christians why they want success in business, they'll say something like, "to make a lot of money, so I can extend the kingdom of God." This is a noble motivation, but most Christians who say this are lying to themselves, because they believe God would not approve of their true motive. Here's the problem: when you lie to yourself about why you want success, you won't be successful. Success is built on true motives. And guess what, if your true motive is to make a lot of money to have an enjoyable life for you and your family, God is cool with that. The vision God has given you requires many decisions that need to be made for you to accomplish it, from simple decisions like the color of your website to major decisions like where should your business or ministry be located. So, is God directing every single decision you need to make? Not really. It is more like a partnership with God than God being a dictator. It is very tempting to criticize another Christian when we see them doing something that goes against our understanding of scripture. For example, you see a pastor asking her followers to sow into her ministry, so she can purchase a private jet. Perhaps you see a Christian music artist starting to sing secular music. Maybe a Christian entrepreneur is operating his business differently than you would expect of a Christian. And the list can go on and on. Here's the problem: when you criticize another Christian as they are operating in their calling, you're not really criticizing them, you're criticizing God. This puts your own calling in jeopardy and limits your own success. If you don't have family to connect with this Christmas, find someone to serve. Serving others is one of the best things you can do on Christmas, whether you're with family or not. Marriage works best when it follows God's kingdom blueprint rather than personal opinions or examples that don't align with His instructions. Scripture shows that God sometimes allowed imperfect practices due to human ignorance or hardened hearts, but His true design for marriage is now clearly revealed. Faith requires belief without doubt and the ability to see God's promises before they manifest. Jesus teaches that when we speak in faith and truly believe in our hearts, we can receive what we ask for, but doubt blocks that process. Abraham is the example of this principle: despite impossible natural circumstances, he stayed strong in faith by calling himself what God promised he would be and visualizing the outcome. In the same way, we must speak, believe, and visualize what God has placed in our hearts, refusing to be moved by present conditions. This year, many of us believed boldly for specific things, yet some of those desires didn't happen. As I reflected on my own unmet expectations, God led me to a simple but powerful thought: ask Him why. Matthew 7:7–11 reminds us that God gives good gifts to His children—not just material blessings, but also wisdom, insight, and understanding. So it's not a lack of faith to ask God why something didn't happen. In fact, knowing why is itself a good gift. As we close out this year, I encourage you to take time with God and ask Him why certain things you believed for didn't unfold. Stay with that question until your spirit is open enough to receive His answer. Before sin entered the world, husband and wife functioned as one unified being—Adam and "female Adam"—with no dynamic of control or dominance. Adam didn't stop his wife from eating the fruit not because he failed as a controller, but because control wasn't part of God's original design. After the fall, blame entered and the curse distorted marriage: the wife would desire to control, and the husband would rule over her. This struggle for dominance is the broken, cursed version of marriage we still see today. God never rebuked Adam for not controlling his wife—He held each person accountable for their own actions. True, godly leadership is not control but shepherding, serving, and guiding, and true submission is voluntary, not coerced.
