If you ask most Christians why they want success in business, they'll say something like, "to make a lot of money, so I can extend the kingdom of God." This is a noble motivation, but most Christians who say this are lying to themselves, because they believe God would not approve of their true motive. Here's the problem: when you lie to yourself about why you want success, you won't be successful. Success is built on true motives. And guess what, if your true motive is to make a lot of money to have an enjoyable life for you and your family, God is cool with that. The vision God has given you requires many decisions that need to be made for you to accomplish it, from simple decisions like the color of your website to major decisions like where should your business or ministry be located. So, is God directing every single decision you need to make? Not really. It is more like a partnership with God than God being a dictator. It is very tempting to criticize another Christian when we see them doing something that goes against our understanding of scripture. For example, you see a pastor asking her followers to sow into her ministry, so she can purchase a private jet. Perhaps you see a Christian music artist starting to sing secular music. Maybe a Christian entrepreneur is operating his business differently than you would expect of a Christian. And the list can go on and on. Here's the problem: when you criticize another Christian as they are operating in their calling, you're not really criticizing them, you're criticizing God. This puts your own calling in jeopardy and limits your own success. I don't have a Daily Word for you today—I just wanted to come on and wish you a merry Christmas. Enjoy time with your family and friends. If you don't have family to connect with this Christmas, find someone to serve. Serving others is one of the best things you can do on Christmas, whether you're with family or not. So make it a point to serve someone today. As you go through Christmas Day, take time to pray for those who may be hurting or missing loved ones during this season. Reach out to someone you haven't spoken to in a while. Share your love with them. Check in and make sure they're doing okay. Faith is essential for entrepreneurs because it gives us confidence and assurance that what God has placed in our hearts will happen, even when we see no evidence yet. Faith transforms a God-given vision into action, as seen in Abel, Noah, Abraham, and Sarah, who obeyed God despite uncertainty, delay, or seeming impossibility. Their faith led them to trust and move forward without having all the details, and God honored their obedience. Without faith, it is impossible to please God, because faith believes He is faithful and rewards those who seek Him. That is why entrepreneurs must build their faith daily through God's Word, so they can trust what He has spoken, take action, and step into the success He has promised. Walking in God's calling often comes with uncertainty and mistakes because we only understand God's will in part, so errors are not failures but part of growth. God knew from the foundation of the world that we would not walk out our calling perfectly, and He already accounted for our missteps, just as He planned redemption before humanity fell. Fear of making mistakes should not stop us from starting or continuing, because God's expectation is not perfection but a heart willing to follow, learn, and be corrected. Marriage works best when it follows God's kingdom blueprint rather than personal opinions or examples that don't align with His instructions. Scripture shows that God sometimes allowed imperfect practices due to human ignorance or hardened hearts, but His true design for marriage is now clearly revealed. In God's kingdom, marriage is a lifelong, permanent union between one man and one woman, built on divine order and responsibility. Husbands are submitted to Christ and lead through sacrificial love and service, while wives are called to submit to and respect their husbands. Both spouses are responsible for intentionally serving one another's needs and desires, creating mutual care and unity. Sexual intimacy is meant to be frequent, mutually enjoyable, and protected within marriage. Faith requires belief without doubt and the ability to see God's promises before they manifest. Jesus teaches that when we speak in faith and truly believe in our hearts, we can receive what we ask for, but doubt blocks that process. Abraham is the example of this principle: despite impossible natural circumstances, he stayed strong in faith by calling himself what God promised he would be and visualizing the outcome. In the same way, we must speak, believe, and visualize what God has placed in our hearts, refusing to be moved by present conditions. By staying fully persuaded that God is able to perform what He promised, we position ourselves to receive what He has already spoken over our lives. Jesus' teaching in Matthew 6:25–34 is a direct call to release worry and embrace faith. He reminds us that life is bigger than the daily concerns we obsess over and shows through the birds and flowers that God provides effortlessly for His creation—how much more for us. Worry, Jesus says, has no value and reveals a lack of faith, especially as we navigate the pressures of business, ministry, and personal responsibility. Instead of striving like unbelievers who chase after their own provision, we're commanded to seek God's kingdom and His way of doing things, trusting that He already knows what we need and will either guide our actions or handle the situation Himself. This year, many of us believed boldly for specific things, yet some of those desires didn't happen. As I reflected on my own unmet expectations, God led me to a simple but powerful thought: ask Him why. Matthew 7:7–11 reminds us that God gives good gifts to His children—not just material blessings, but also wisdom, insight, and understanding. So it's not a lack of faith to ask God why something didn't happen. In fact, knowing why is itself a good gift. As we close out this year, I encourage you to take time with God and ask Him why certain things you believed for didn't unfold. Stay with that question until your spirit is open enough to receive His answer. Before sin entered the world, husband and wife functioned as one unified being—Adam and "female Adam"—with no dynamic of control or dominance. Adam didn't stop his wife from eating the fruit not because he failed as a controller, but because control wasn't part of God's original design. After the fall, blame entered and the curse distorted marriage: the wife would desire to control, and the husband would rule over her. This struggle for dominance is the broken, cursed version of marriage we still see today. God never rebuked Adam for not controlling his wife—He held each person accountable for their own actions. True, godly leadership is not control but shepherding, serving, and guiding, and true submission is voluntary, not coerced. Paul's interaction with the believers in Corinth (2 Corinthians 1:12-24 NLT) shows that even sincere, godly people sometimes need to change their plans. He reassures them that his motives were pure, his conscience clear, and his communication honest, even though he had to disappoint them by not returning as promised. This scenario in scripture reveals an important truth for entrepreneurs and ministry leaders: making promises with good intentions is right, but when circumstances shift, it may be necessary to "unmake" a promise with humility and clarity. Receiving their counsel may lead to success, but it will cost you peace and lead you away from God. So, here is a problem, I am browsing through social media, and I see someone having the success I desire to have. Instead of being happy for them, internally I am sad I am not having that success. Obviously, that is the wrong response. John's vision in Revelation 21–22 reveals the completion of God's plan as He creates a new heaven and new earth where sin, death, and sorrow no longer exist. God dwells permanently with His people, calling them victorious and granting them eternal life, while those who persist in unbelief and sinful lifestyles are excluded. The New Jerusalem—glorious, vast, and radiant—shows the unity of all God's people and becomes the eternal home where God's presence replaces the need for a temple, and every ethnic group is represented. In this restored creation, the curse is gone, the tree of life is freely accessible, and perfect healing and harmony exist among all races forever. Many  of us are guilty of over-analyzing the calling and direction God has given us. However, over-analyzing what God has called us to do will delay our success. Many of us have been walking out our calling for a while, and over time, we've accumulated programs, products, and responsibilities that have cluttered our original purpose. In the beginning, our calling is like a cute baby tiger—exciting and manageable—but as it grows, if not carefully tended, it can kill us. In the same way, our calling can become overwhelming when burdened with things we've added, things others have added, or elements that are outdated. God is calling us to make 2026 a year of simplicity. It's time to erase—remove the parts of the vision that don't belong; declutter—let go of products, programs, and services that are outdated or off-mission; and focus—devote ourselves only to what aligns with our true purpose. Daily Study: Idle words are words said in passing when you are caught off guard. For example: Someone may ask you, "How are you doing today?" and you may instinctively say, "I have seen better days." Daily Study: There are moments in life when the assignment God gave you has come to an end. It's similar to when God instructed Elijah to go to the brook Cherith, where ravens would bring him meat, and he could drink from the brook. But eventually, the brook dried up, and it was time for him to move on and take a new direction. However, there are also times when we must remain steadfast in what God has instructed us to do and not drift away from the original instructions. If we stray too far from what God called us to do, we'll drift away from the anointing of success.
