    Ivy Insights

The Church for Entrepreneurs podcast has been a game-changer for me in my entrepreneurial journey. Pastor Amos Johnson's ability to simplify the Word of God and apply it to entrepreneurship is truly remarkable. He breaks down complex concepts into easily digestible nuggets of wisdom that are relatable and applicable. Whether you're looking for practical advice or seeking to align your faith with your business, this podcast delivers on all fronts. The teachings have helped me grow as a Christian and business owner, challenging my own prejudices and helping me see the Word and the Trinity in a new light.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is Pastor Amos' ability to make scripture relevant and applicable to everyday life as an entrepreneur. His messages are always timely and inspirational, providing encouragement and guidance when I'm feeling discouraged or uncertain in my entrepreneurial journey. The podcasts are short, making them easy to listen to while multitasking, whether I'm testing recipes in the kitchen or developing my business plan. The teachings have not only supported me in my entrepreneurial endeavors but have also helped me stay certain of my "Why" by providing The Word that grounds me.

If there was one potential downside to this podcast, it would be that some episodes may be too heavily focused on the intersection of faith and entrepreneurship for listeners who may not identify as Christians or have a strong religious background. However, even for those individuals, the principles shared can still provide valuable insights into running a purpose-driven business.

In conclusion, The Church for Entrepreneurs podcast is an incredible resource for entrepreneurs looking to align their faith with their business endeavors. Pastor Amos Johnson's teachings provide clarity, revelation, and practical advice from the Word like no one else I've encountered. It has been a blessing in my walk with God and my business, helping me build my faith as both an entrepreneur and a Christian. I cannot recommend this podcast enough if you're seeking spiritual guidance and biblical wisdom in your entrepreneurial journey.

    The Bible Records Opinions

An important truth we must understand is that the Bible contains both direct commands from God and opinions from others. In 1 Corinthians 7, Paul carefully identifies when he is speaking by the Lord's command and when he is giving his own Spirit-guided judgment. This teaches us that not everything recorded in Scripture carries the same level of authority. While these opinions are inspired, wise, and profitable for our instruction, we must be careful not to elevate them to the level of a direct command from God. Recognizing this distinction helps us rightly divide the Word of truth and avoid turning opinions into doctrine. __________ 1 Corinthians 7:6–7 NLT, 1 Corinthians 7:10–11 NLT, 1 Corinthians 7:12–16 NLT, 1 Corinthians 7:25–28 NLT, 1 Corinthians 7:40 NLT __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

I can't share the specifics of the opportunity just yet, but I will share them with you in July. In order to support this opportunity, instead of having weekly Bible studies on Sundays, we will continue with the once-a-month Bible studies for now. To create a somewhat consistent schedule, these once-per-month Bible studies will be held on the first Fridays from 7 PM to 9 PM EST. This will start on Friday, July 3rd. Some passages in Scripture are descriptive, meaning they record historical events and actions without intending to establish doctrine or serve as commands for all believers. While these accounts provide valuable lessons and reveal God's work throughout history, doctrine should be built primarily from passages that clearly teach and prescribe God's will. Careful interpretation requires considering the context, timing, and overall message of Scripture so that believers do not mistakenly turn historical narratives into universal commands. The Word of God must be studied rightly so we build our lives on truth rather than falsehood. Since all Scripture is inspired by God, we should study it with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, compare passages, and examine multiple translations to understand God's message. Not every passage is meant to establish doctrine, as some Scriptures describe events while others instruct us how to live. This week's Office Hours focused on balancing faith, calling, and entrepreneurship. One participant sought guidance about managing an existing tutoring business while considering a new food-related venture. The advice emphasized discerning whether new opportunities align with God's timing and calling, noting that sources of provision should support rather than distract from one's primary purpose, similar to how Apostle Paul's tent-making ministry supported his apostolic work. Suggestions included testing the new business concept through blogging or community-building before making a larger commitment.  Another participant offered a business connection in the childcare industry, while the conversation broadened into the challenges of balancing multiple ventures. Participants discussed the importance of maintaining focus and, when pursuing several projects, shifting from doing all the work personally to leading, managing, and delegating effectively.  A caregiver entrepreneur shared plans to expand services through a nonprofit foundation, receiving encouragement to focus directly on the larger vision rather than investing significant time in smaller preliminary projects. The group also explored the relationship between faith and business success, discussing the differences between worldly systems and kingdom principles, the value of small businesses, and the importance of thinking boldly about God-given visions and opportunities.  The meeting concluded with encouragement to pursue one's calling without limiting ambitions, announcements regarding upcoming ministry activities and Bible study opportunities, and discussion of an upcoming mission trip to South Africa focused on youth evangelism. __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

In 1 Corinthians 14, however, Paul describes a personal use of tongues in which believers speak directly to God and edify themselves. While public tongues in a church gathering must be accompanied by interpretation to benefit others, private tongues can be practiced freely as a form of personal prayer and communion with God. __________ 1 Corinthians 12:27–30 NLT, 1 Corinthians 14:18–19 NLT, 1 Corinthians 14:26–28 NLT, 1 Corinthians 14:1–4 KJV __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

Believers will often say, "If God wants me to go this way, then He will open a door of opportunity," or, "this door closed because God has something better for me." God can open and close doors of opportunity, but the state of the door (aka opportunity) doesn't indicate the will of God for your life. Watching doors open and close can mislead you and put you in a state of confusion. __________ Colossians 4:3 KJV, Revelation 3:8 KJV, John 10:10 KJV, Joshua 7:4, 6, 10–11 NLT, Acts 16:6–7 NLT, Genesis 26:2 NLT, Matthew 16:18–19 KJV, 1 Kings 13:18 KJV, 1 Kings 13:9 KJV, Luke 4:5–7 KJV, Luke 4:8 NLT, James 1:5 NLT __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

Walking in your calling requires endurance, discipline, and focus. Like a soldier, you must endure suffering and avoid distractions that pull you away from pleasing God. Like an athlete, you must remain within the boundaries of God's standards, and like a hardworking farmer, you will eventually enjoy the fruit of your labor. God approves of those who diligently work in their calling, while distractions can spread like cancer and destroy focus and purpose. __________ 2 Timothy 2:3-6 NLT, 2 Timothy 2:15-17 NLT __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com Leave a Comment: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/comments __________

Most believers already have a good basic knowledge of what God has called them to do because God has not been hiding it from them. He has revealed it to them throughout their lives. The real issue is that many of us have not accepted our calling. We are full of self doubt and excuses.
