    Ivy Insights

The Church for Entrepreneurs podcast has been a game-changer for me in my entrepreneurial journey. Pastor Amos Johnson's ability to simplify the Word of God and apply it to entrepreneurship is truly remarkable. He breaks down complex concepts into easily digestible nuggets of wisdom that are relatable and applicable. Whether you're looking for practical advice or seeking to align your faith with your business, this podcast delivers on all fronts. The teachings have helped me grow as a Christian and business owner, challenging my own prejudices and helping me see the Word and the Trinity in a new light.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is Pastor Amos' ability to make scripture relevant and applicable to everyday life as an entrepreneur. His messages are always timely and inspirational, providing encouragement and guidance when I'm feeling discouraged or uncertain in my entrepreneurial journey. The podcasts are short, making them easy to listen to while multitasking, whether I'm testing recipes in the kitchen or developing my business plan. The teachings have not only supported me in my entrepreneurial endeavors but have also helped me stay certain of my "Why" by providing The Word that grounds me.

If there was one potential downside to this podcast, it would be that some episodes may be too heavily focused on the intersection of faith and entrepreneurship for listeners who may not identify as Christians or have a strong religious background. However, even for those individuals, the principles shared can still provide valuable insights into running a purpose-driven business.

In conclusion, The Church for Entrepreneurs podcast is an incredible resource for entrepreneurs looking to align their faith with their business endeavors. Pastor Amos Johnson's teachings provide clarity, revelation, and practical advice from the Word like no one else I've encountered. It has been a blessing in my walk with God and my business, helping me build my faith as both an entrepreneur and a Christian. I cannot recommend this podcast enough if you're seeking spiritual guidance and biblical wisdom in your entrepreneurial journey.

Working to survive is under the curse

Daily Study Are you living from paycheck to paycheck? No matter how much money you make, is it still not enough? If so, you may be living under the curse: working merely to survive but never having enough. This should not be because Jesus has paid the price to free us from the curse, so that we may live under God's blessing.                                                     Genesis 3:17-19 KJV [17] And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; [18] Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; [19] In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art , and unto dust shalt thou return. Genesis 1:28-30 NLT [28] Then God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground." [29] Then God said, "Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food. [30] And I have given every green plant as food for all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, and the small animals that scurry along the ground-everything that has life." And that is what happened. Romans 5:12,17-19 NLT [12] When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam's sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. [17] For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God's wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ. [18] Yes, Adam's one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ's one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone. [19] Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous. Matthew 16:6-11 KJV [6] Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. [7] And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread. [8] Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread? [9] Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? [10] Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? [11] How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? Mark 6:7-10 KJV [7] And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; [8] And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse: [9] But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats. [10] And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place. Matthew 6:31-33 NLT [31] "So don't worry about these things, saying, 'What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?' [32] These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. [33] Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Ecclesiastes 10:7 KJV [7] I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth. Luke 15:29-31 KJV [29] And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends: [30] But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf. [31] And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.   Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com

Is struggling financially in your calling a sign of failure?

Play Episode Listen Later Nov 11, 2025 5:24

Daily Study Experiencing financial lack while pursuing God's calling—whether in business, ministry, or nonprofit spaces—is not necessarily a sign that you are doing something wrong. The Apostle Paul and other apostles faced severe hardship; they were hungry and thirsty, had insufficient clothing, and sometimes had no home. However, even through these financial struggles, they were doing exactly what God had called them to do. Financial struggle is not an automatic indicator that you are on the wrong path. 1 Corinthians 4:8-13 NLT [8] You think you already have everything you need. You think you are already rich. You have begun to reign in God's kingdom without us! I wish you really were reigning already, for then we would be reigning with you.  [9] Instead, I sometimes think God has put us apostles on display, like prisoners of war at the end of a victor's parade, condemned to die. We have become a spectacle to the entire world-to people and angels alike.  [10] Our dedication to Christ makes us look like fools, but you claim to be so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are so powerful! You are honored, but we are ridiculed.  [11] Even now we go hungry and thirsty, and we don't have enough clothes to keep warm. We are often beaten and have no home.  [12] We work wearily with our own hands to earn our living. We bless those who curse us. We are patient with those who abuse us.  [13] We appeal gently when evil things are said about us. Yet we are treated like the world's garbage, like everybody's trash-right up to the present moment.   Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com

Revelation Series: Revelation 15 and 16 depict the completion of God's wrath through the final seven plagues, executed by seven angels. In heaven, those who overcame the beast worship God for His justice and power, declaring His righteousness and holiness. As each bowl of wrath is poured out on the earth, judgment falls upon those who followed the Antichrist — bringing sores, blood, scorching heat, darkness, and global chaos. Despite their suffering, people refuse to repent, revealing the hardness of sin's grip. The demonic trinity—Satan, the beast, and the false prophet—deceives the nations, gathering them for battle against God at Armageddon. The seventh bowl marks the climax: God proclaims, "It is finished," signaling the downfall of Babylon, the symbol of human rebellion and pride dating back to Babel. These judgments reveal that God's justice is true and that every seed sown against Him will ultimately reap its due reward.   Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com

Therefore, I am sharing with you my scripture list that I use to renew my mind.  Philippians 4:8 KJV [8] Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Romans 12:2 KJV [2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 8:6 ESV [6] For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. Romans 10:10 KJV [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Acts 10:38 KJV [38] How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. Matthew 9:35 KJV [35] And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. Romans 4:19 KJV [19] And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: Job 36:11 KJV [11] If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. Psalm 35:27 KJV [27] Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. 1 Corinthians 9:11 KJV [11] If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things? 2 Corinthians 9:6 KJV [6] But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.   Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com

Because of that, intimacy, fellowship, and communication are not optional; they're the heartbeat of both divine and marital relationships. Just as we must make time to nurture our relationship with God, we must also make time to nurture our relationship with our spouse. Love cannot grow in neglect. Scriptures: Genesis 2:24–25 NKJV Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. James 4:8 NKJV Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.   Amos 3:3 NKJV Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NKJV Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. Through the story of a celebrated athlete whose private heartbreak becomes painfully public, we're invited to confront the deeper question every couple must face: How do you forgive when trust has been broken? Grounded in Scripture and word study, this message reveals the biblical depth of forgiveness—not just as letting go of offense, but as extending grace that mirrors God's own mercy. It's a redemptive reflection on love, healing, and the transforming presence of Jesus, who meets us in our brokenness and makes restoration possible. Scriptures: Matthew 6:14-15 (ESV) - Establishes forgiveness as a divine command tied to spiritual freedom. Colossians 3:13 (NIV) - Defines forgiveness as imitation of God's mercy, not emotion. True prayer is done privately, from the heart, with faith that the Father already knows our needs. Unlike pagans who rely on long or repetitive chants, believers are called to approach God with reverence and simplicity. Jesus provided a model through the Lord's Prayer, focusing on honoring God, seeking His will, daily dependence, forgiveness, and spiritual protection. Revelation Series:  Revelation 13 and 14 reveal Satan's final attempt to counterfeit God's authority and deceive the world. The dragon (Satan) empowers the beast (Antichrist) to rule the earth, gaining global worship through blasphemy, false miracles, and a counterfeit resurrection. The second beast acts as his prophet, enforcing idolatry through an image of the Antichrist and requiring all people to receive a mark on their hand or forehead—an imitation of God's seal on His followers—connecting worship with economic control. In contrast, the 144,000 sealed servants of God are shown pure, faithful, and redeemed in heaven, representing the firstfruits of the harvest. During the tribulation, angels proclaim a final gospel urging all to fear and worship God, warning that those who take the mark will face eternal wrath. Despite immense persecution, believers are called to endure faithfully, even unto death, which God counts as blessed. The chapter concludes with the harvest of the earth—Jesus gathers the righteous while the wicked are cast into the winepress of God's wrath—marking the ultimate separation between those who belong to Christ and those who follow the beast.   Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com

The seventh trumpet then proclaims God's coming reign and reveals His heavenly temple. Chapter 12 depicts Israel giving birth to Jesus while Satan, symbolized as the dragon, attempts to destroy Him but is cast from heaven to earth. A fallen angel opens the bottomless pit, releasing demonic locusts that torment those without God's seal, showing that even demons remain under God's control. The Church's absence suggests the rapture has occurred. The sixth trumpet releases four bound angels and a vast army that kills a third of humanity, yet people still refuse to repent. Before the final trumpet, a mighty angel announces God's plan is about to be fulfilled. John eats a scroll symbolizing the message he must proclaim—sweet to receive but bitter in its judgment. These events lead to Christ's eternal kingdom of peace, justice, and universal worship. We don't want to sound as though we are bragging or come off as prideful. However, when you have the opportunity to pitch your business (or yourself) to a client, don't hold back. Boldly present your credentials and how you will solve the client's problems. Daily Study: Jesus died on the cross for our sins so that we could be reconciled to God as His children. Jesus' calling was to save us, and He did it well, but to accomplish His calling, He had to "take up His cross." Similarly, Jesus instructs us to "take up our cross" and follow Him. But what does this really mean? To achieve the calling God has given us, taking up our cross represents going in a different direction than normal society and being considered foolish for following the dream God has given us. It is the complete surrender of our will to achieve the calling God gave us, until we leave this earth through death or rapture.       Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com

Before the final seal opens, 144,000 from Israel's tribes are sealed and protected—faithful servants preserved by God's covenant—while a vast multitude from every nation stands before His throne, redeemed through the blood of the Lamb after enduring the tribulation. When the seventh seal is broken, heaven falls silent as judgment intensifies. The prayers of the saints rise before God, and the trumpet judgments begin, bringing devastation to the earth. Why does it seem like secular people are more successful in business than Christians? Well, the reason is that they have fully committed to their worldly system of success, whereas many Christians in business are wishy-washy. They try to do business God's way mixed with worldly principles, which is a recipe for frustration and failure.
