Revelation Series: Revelation 11–12 reveals the unfolding of the seven-year tribulation, divided into two halves of 3.5 years. During the first half, God's two witnesses—likely modeled after Moses and Elijah—prophesy against the rising Antichrist until he, empowered by demonic forces, kills them; after three and a half days, God resurrects and raptures them, signaling a shift into the Great Tribulation. The seventh trumpet then proclaims God's coming reign and reveals His heavenly temple. Chapter 12 depicts Israel giving birth to Jesus while Satan, symbolized as the dragon, attempts to destroy Him but is cast from heaven to earth. In rage, Satan pursues Israel, whom God protects in the wilderness for 3.5 years, and then turns against those who come to faith after the rapture, leading to intense persecution and martyrdom as his final rebellion unfolds. Daily Study: Jesus died on the cross for our sins so that we could be reconciled to God as His children. Jesus' calling was to save us, and He did it well, but to accomplish His calling, He had to "take up His cross." Similarly, Jesus instructs us to "take up our cross" and follow Him. But what does this really mean? To achieve the calling God has given us, taking up our cross represents going in a different direction than normal society and being considered foolish for following the dream God has given us. When the seventh seal is broken, heaven falls silent as judgment intensifies. The prayers of the saints rise before God, and the trumpet judgments begin, bringing devastation to the earth. At this point, I throw up my hands and say, “God is going to work it out.” However, it crashes and burns. Did God let me down?
