Let's be honest—many of us are doing all the “right” things: We're reading our Bibles. We're praying. We're serving. We're leading. And yet… we still feel disconnected from God. We wonder, Why can't I hear Him? Why does He feel so far? Is it something I'm doing wrong? In today's episode, we're gently (but boldly) reframing those questions—and offering a new perspective rooted in both neuroscience and spirit-led truth. You'll hear: Why you might not have a hearing problem—you might have a nervous system problem How trauma, stress, and high-functioning burnout impact your ability to feel safe in stillness The brain science behind why intimacy with God feels so hard when you're in survival mode Why rest and regulation are the gateways to spiritual clarity—not more religious effort How performance and pressure often mask a deep disconnection from yourself The freedom that comes when we stop hustling for God and start being with Him This conversation is for the woman who's tired of trying harder, doing more, and still feeling like she's missing something. You are not spiritually broken. You are just ready for a new rhythm—one of peace, presence, and partnership with the Holy Spirit.   DM “FREEDOM” on Instagram to learn more or continue the conversation: https://www.instagram.com/heathershriverburns   Join us at The Secret Place Retreat (June 26–28, 2025):   https://thesecretplaceretreat.com (only 5 spots open at the time of this recording)

You'll receive biblical truth, neuroscience insight, and a holy confrontation with every lie you've believed about what you're “allowed” to call yourself.Plus, Skye shares guardrails for speaking “I AM” declarations that stay rooted in Christ, not counterfeit thinking—drawing a bold line between Kingdom alignment and New Age mimicry. Overcoming Self-Doubt and Strengthening Self-Belief Through Faith Many purpose-driven individuals—especially women—struggle with self-doubt. Trusting yourself and stepping into your calling can feel overwhelming without the right mindset and spiritual foundation. However, with faith and intentional practices, overcoming self-doubt becomes not only possible—it becomes transformative. Recognize the Root of Self-Doubt Overcoming self-doubt begins with understanding its root. It often takes hold during challenging seasons—when you're stuck in survival mode, simply trying to make it through the day. During these times, confidence feels distant, and dreaming big seems out of reach. Yet even in these moments, you have the power to choose faith. Lean into it. Remember, the Lord has a plan for you—even when your current season feels uncertain. His purpose is unfolding, even in the waiting. Embrace Faith as the Foundation To move forward in your purpose, faith must become your foundation. Trusting in God and believing that He has called and equipped you allows you to walk with courage, not fear. Faith shifts your focus from your limitations to God's limitless power. Joshua 1:9 reminds us, “Be strong and courageous...for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” When you embrace this truth, overcoming self-doubt becomes less about striving and more about surrendering to divine strength and guidance. Cultivate Self-Belief Through Faith Another essential step in overcoming self-doubt is rebuilding your self-belief through the lens of faith. Your fears do not define you—you are who God says you are. Embracing Success Beyond Social Media: A Faith-Focused Journey to Becoming a Published Author With so much focus on social media, it can be hard for anyone striving to become a published author not to feel the pressure to build a massive following. One might think it's necessary to be seen as successful. However, true success comes from following God's plan and staying rooted in your values. Becoming a published author doesn't have to revolve around likes, followers, or algorithms. Redefining Success to Become a Published Author It's easy to look at people who have achieved literary success and focus on where they are now—published, celebrated, and recognized. But what you don't often see is the long, unseen journey it took for them to become a published author. That journey looks different for everyone, beginning with defining success on your terms - not the world's terms. You can view success through three lenses: ours, God's, and the world's. Are you writing simply for personal ambition? Are you chasing worldly approval—fame, money, social media validation? Or are you seeking to become a published author in alignment with God's unique plan for your life? The world often tells us success means going viral, having a curated life online, or selling millions of copies. But God's definition of success is grounded in faithfulness, obedience, and impact—sometimes unseen but always meaningful. About Allie Marie Allie Marie's passion is helping people, especially girls and women, live flourishing lives, know their God-given worth, identity, and purpose, and experience vibrant wellness in body, mind, and spirit.  As a teen girl and young woman, Allie battled severe depression and even tried to end her life. Embracing Emotional Confidence to Manage Emotions Managing emotions is an essential skill. Whether dealing with fear, anxiety, stress, or the everyday ups and downs, understanding how to navigate your emotions is crucial. Learning to build emotional confidence and manage emotions is essential for mental and emotional well-being. Your Emotions Manifesting Physically in Your Body The brain, the mind, body, and spirit are so interwoven. There are physical manifestations of not taking care of yourself that can lead to both acute and chronic illness. Acknowledge: The First Step to Emotional Confidence The journey to managing emotions begins with acknowledgment. It involves understanding why you feel a certain way and accepting those feelings. This step is leaning into God's compassion and recognizing that emotions are a natural response to life's events. By acknowledging emotions, we create space for self-compassion and begin the process of healing and growth. Discern: Separating Fact from Fiction Once you acknowledge your emotions, the next step towards emotional confidence is to discern. You're saying it's true that… but it's not true that… Ask God for clarity in discerning what is reality and what is not.  Decide: Taking Action Toward Emotional Mastery The final step is to decide how to proceed. This decision-making process involves determining what action to take once you have clarity. It's about choosing a path aligned with your values and the truth, rather than being driven by emotional reactivity. This step also includes inviting God's courage to help you stay on the path He has laid out for you while focusing on your mindset and not returning to fear and anxiety. Having a strong identity in Christ and leaning on Him as you work to build emotional confidence and manage emotions.  Building a Routine for Emotional Resilience Cultivating emotional confidence is an ongoing practice. It requires patience, regularity, and a willingness to act. You must be willing to take action. Being in the right mindset to take action Your body needs to be in the right state to logically process before you can begin the A, D, and D steps. The nervous system has two different phases: the sympathetic and the parasympathetic. When you are in the sympathetic phase, that is, your fight or flight mode, you cannot effectively use your executive functioning or decision-making skills. The Parasympathetic phase is your rest and digest phase, where you want to be to logically process and use the A, D, and D steps.   About Alicia Michelle Alicia Michelle is an ICF-Certified Coach (ACC, CPLC) and certified NeuroCoach™, passionate about helping Christian women learn practical, brain-based-and-biblically-accurate tools to confidently manage everyday emotions and overcome toxic patterns like perfectionism, performance, comparison, people-pleasing and more! The Second Phase Podcast - Personal Branding & Brand Marketing and Life Strategies for Success for Female Entrepreneurs

When you say yes to God, He will equip you for the calling. It may feel frightening to say yes to God, but great things can happen when we do. Heather Wilson's journey to build GiveSendGo is a perfect example. What happens when you say yes to God?  Heather discovered she could bring hope to many when she said yes to God. Her journey began as a foster parent, taking in children who had faced immense trauma. This act of kindness and courage highlighted the importance of viewing service as more than a one-time act. It's about daily sacrifices that transform lives, including our own. Ask God for Wisdom When Heather embraced God's calling and asked him for wisdom, she received His wisdom. She was led on the path to co-creating a successful crowdfunding platform called GiveSendGo, which is dedicated to serving others. It began without any expertise in technology but with an openness to say yes to God and listen to his plans. Embracing Hope and Sharing It with Others One of the ways GiveSendGo strives to stand apart is to give hope. This platform not only helps with financial fundraising, but it prioritizes giving hope. Everyone who starts a fundraising campaign is called and asked to pray together. Standing Firm for Truth and Justice GiveSendGo's journey hasn't been without controversy. They are deeply committed to truth and justice, particularly when standing up for individuals' rights to legal defense and free speech. Standing up to their principles during those tough moments raised awareness for them and helped their site grow. Expanding Impact Through Nonprofit Ventures In addition to crowdfunding, launching a related nonprofit opened avenues for direct aid in disaster and crisis situations. This branch of GiveSendGo was driven by the desire to extend hope and assistance where it is most needed. With so many people being wary of nonprofits that are taking so much money, GiveSendGo wanted to create something different where people's donations are truly going to where they are needed most. About Heather Wilson Heather Wilson is a wife, mother of 6, and the Co-founder of GiveSendGo. Throughout Heather's life she has found success in many avenues, from building successful children's ministries to growing a professional photography business while her children were young. She is now on the forefront of standing for freedom as the cofounder of GiveSendGo. Be Fruitful and Multiply: Embracing Multiplication in Business In the whirlwind of daily tasks and business responsibilities, it's easy to feel like you're constantly running in circles. The endless to-do lists and the mounting expectations can lead to feelings of burnout and frustration. However, by embracing the concept of multiplication based on God's message to be fruitful and multiply, you can alter your mindset, apply strategic thinking, and transform your business approach. Shifting Your Business Process Embracing God's plan means you must first lay down your plans. Many women have become masters of addition and are good at getting things done and checking off their to-do lists. However, this often also leads to burnout and frustration because they do not see the return of all their efforts. Shifting from being masters of addition to kingdom multipliers will help you implement God's purpose. The Power of a Renewed Mindset Learning to be fruitful and multiply begins with an open mindset based on Scripture. We've been programmed to do more, and many of us fall into this trap. For example: Lone Cowboy Tract: This is the thought that you need to make something of yourself. It keeps us isolated and small. Anything multiplied by 1 is still small. The Idea of Lack: When you get in the mindset of I just don't have enough ______ or If I only had ____. When you enter this mindset, you bring negatives into the equation; multiplying by a negative equals a negative. Many scripture verses tell us to change our mindset. It is an active process to renew our mindset in Christ and change our thoughts to believe that God is on our side. Community: The Heart of Multiplication Learning to be fruitful and multiply in business involves more than just strategic moves; it's about building strong, genuine relationships with others. Working together with other like-minded individuals not only amplifies your influence but also fosters mutual support and innovation. This community-first approach reflects a relational model where deep connections lead to exponential growth, much like how early successful movements have spread despite limited technology. What You'll Learn in This Episode: ✔ What prayer really is (Hint: it's not just talking—there's a key second part!) ✔ The common struggles Christian entrepreneurs face when it comes to prayer ✔ Why the enemy hates prayer and how spiritual warfare plays a role ✔ The neuroscience behind prayer and how it physically rewires your brain ✔ Practical ways to make prayer a non-negotiable in your business Key Takeaways: Prayer is simply talking and listening to God—just like any real conversation. Struggling with prayer doesn't mean something is wrong with you. You're not alone. The enemy knows the power of prayer, which is why distractions and doubts creep in. Science backs up what the Bible says—prayer transforms your brain and thought patterns. Making prayer a habit starts with shifting your mindset and creating intentional space for it. Action Steps: 1️⃣ Identify what's holding you back. Is it busyness, doubt, disappointment, or something else? 2️⃣ Shift your posture. See prayer as a privilege, not an obligation. 3️⃣ Start small. Even a few minutes of focused prayer can be powerful. 4️⃣ Make it practical. Schedule prayer into your business day like an appointment with God. 5️⃣ Listen, don't just talk. God wants to guide you, but you have to give Him space to speak. Scripture to Reflect On: "Be still and know that I am God." — Psalm 46:10 Let's Keep the Conversation Going!
