Because Christ's giving is displayed in our giving, how we give is important. 1. Honorably. (v.16-21) 2. Carefully. (v.22-24) 3. Willingly. (ch.9, v.1-5) How do we know there is a wrong way to give? What is a good motive to give? Gal. 2:10. How much do we trust the handlers of our gifts? 1 Thess 2:5-8. What accreditation must there be for leaders? 1 Cor. 16:1-4.
We can look at Jesus' return as something we genuinely want to happen. So it be the case, we need to live lives that honor Him - lives with anxiety but trust, lives with accountability instead of spiritual latency, and lives that are rooted in/connected to Christ the sources of our strength. By getting rid of our old ways of doing things, we become vessels of honor for God to use and work through for the sake of His return.
Daily Study: Research shows that two to three million churchgoers leave their church every year. Most leave because of burn out or because they were hurt in someway by their church. With these statistics in mind, in today's Study, I am addressing the reality that so many Christians are contemplating leaving a church. How is it one conducts oneself honorably among unbelievers? What are the responsibilities of civil authorities and the responsibilities of Christians who must submit to civil authorities? How and why do we live free as God's servants? These questions are all addressed by this passage in 1 Peter 2:11-17

Welcome to this Scripture Hike of 1 Timothy 5:9-16 with the Nomads! There are certain things we learn about a mountain only by hiking it, one laborious, yet exhilarating step at a time. When we stay in the moment enough to let it fill our senses with freshness and beauty, the hike becomes a part of us. We nomads have set out on a new quest in this series of NomadsYouAndi podcasts we're calling “Scripture Hikes” to discuss the word of God at a pace that is similar to the hikes we've been taking while we're living nomadically. Come join us now for a hike through the Word where we'll encounter spiritual truths that we've found to be transformative to our lives, strengthening to our spirits, more fragrant to our hearts, and more refreshing to our souls, than any evergreen forest, pristine mountain spring, or mountain peak we've ever experienced!

That type of thinking led to Obergefell, and the current transgender craze (think Dylan Mulvaney or Ellen Page). But children without both a mom and a dad struggle in school and in life, and the science backs that up. Kids need their own parents, and especially fathers. Fathers show their kids how to be both tough, and tender. And kids need both from their dads. Boys need to know how to act as men, and girls need to know what type of behavior to accept from their future husbands. Fathers teach them how to do that. Nick Freitas joins Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse to discuss fatherhood and masculinity for this special Father's Day edition of the Dr. J Show. Nick Freitas has been married to his high school sweet heart Tina Freitas since 1999. They have 3 children, Lillyana, Luke and Alexandria. Discover the incredible scriptural wisdom that praises those who remember, pray, and offer sacrifices for the dead. What can you do today for the dead? Share in the comments!—Morning Offering with Fr. Kirby, November 3, 2023—————————Every morning, join Father Jeffrey Kirby as he begins the day with prayer and reflection. In a few short minutes, Father Kirby guides you in prayer, shares a brief reflection grounding your day in the Church's rhythm of feast days and liturgy, and provides you with the encouragement necessary to go forward with peace and strength. Let us do as the saints urge and begin our days in prayer together so as a community of believers we may join the Psalmist in saying, “In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.” (Psalm 5:3-4)
1 Peter 2:11-17English Standard VersionBeloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.Be subject for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people. Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.

Welcome to the Rock Your World Naturally Show! We are rocking your world with all things natural. It's the place where healthy women rock! In honor of Veteran's Day, Rekishia L. McMillan, aka, "The Total Health Coach" interviews Amy Walton, whose late father was a Prisoner of War in WW II and survived the infamous Bataan Death March. The day after Japan bombed the US Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on Dec 7, 1941, the Japanese invasion of the Philippines began. Within a month, the Japanese captured Manila, the capital of the Philippines and American and Filipino defenders of Luzon were forced to retreat to the Baatan Peninsula. Between 60,000 to 80,000 American and Filipino Prisoners of War were forced to march 65 miles. Many men died during the journey as a result of being severely beaten, receiving little to no food and water and were stabbed with batons. The conditions were disease-ridden and beyond horrific. Under the leadership of General Douglas McArthur, who in 1942 had famously promised to return to the Philippines, made good on his word. In Feb 1945, US Filipino forces recaptured the Bataan Peninsula and Manila, resulting in liberation. The Japanese commander and two of his officers were tried by the US military and were found guilty of war crimes and sentenced to death. Amy shares that her father testified as a witness during the trials. Amy provides an intimate look into her father's life and believes that the fact that he survived was a miracle, as he lived to be 91 years of age. She shares the lessons that she learned in life from her father to include resilience and the power of forgiveness. Not only did Amy's father influence her, but he made a lasting impact on her sons as well, one of which followed in his grandfather's footsteps and serves as on officer on Active Duty with the US Army. Amy shares her experience as a proud Military Mother and how her faith provided the hope and strength that she and her family needed during her sons one-year deployment to Iraq.
