From the playing of Bruce Greene via Kentucky fiddler Gusty Wallace. The measure count is very unusual, but it's a neat tune. Bruce Greene has found good crooked tunes, many probably from Kentucky. Check out his Five Miles from Ellum Wood CD.

On this week's episode of the OVAREACTION podcast, I share how I got the fresh start I was looking for at the end of 2011. Never did I imagine the fresh start God had in store for me was a move to the Windy City. Part of settling into my new home required me to find a reproductive endocrinologist who could help me manage my endometriosis. Following our initial consultation, my doctor recommended a full panel of bloodwork to assess my reproductive health based on my hormone levels. The results of this assessment led to a diagnosis of diminished ovarian reserve and a recommendation to consider egg freezing if I desired kids in the future. I share how I felt post diagnosis and the factors I considered in making the decision to freeze my eggs. The song of the episode is 5 Miles To Empty by Brownstone. The analogy my doctor used of the gas tank and my ovarian reserve immediately made me think of this song. Check out the playlist on Apple or Spotify. And if you have a song that reminds you or has helped you get through your reproductive health journey, email (hello@tennilledaniels.com) or DM (IG: @tennilledaniels) me to let me know. I would love to add it to the playlist. ~Tennille

Welcome to the question time episode.A few months ago I hosted a panel talk at a bar called Five Miles in Tottenham, North London called Where It's At. It's intent? To figure out where the UK craft beer industry is at the moment, perhaps taking stock of it in the process and figuring out how it might look in the future.I'm joined on this panel by three influential people within the world of beer: Ed Mason, founder of the Five Points Brewing Company here in London; Miranda Hudson, founder of Duration Brewing in Norfolk, and Adam Robertson, founder of Verdant Brewing Company in Falmouth Cornwall.Very few topics are left alone in this lengthy debate: quality, independence, crowdfunding, the price of beer—nothing is taboo. It resulted in a very interesting discussion, and at times quite amusing—especially when our host, Mark Hislop of Exale Brewing (formerly Hale Brewery) delivered us some patented Mali-Bomb shots midway through the discussion. Thanks to Dan and Mark of Exale for hosting this discussion. Now that they're in their new home in Walthamstow, North London, we hope to host another of these entertaining debates soon. This month, we’re watching The Persuaders! Season 1 Episode 17, Five Miles to Midnight, in which TV's Roger Moore and sometime lady saxophonist Tony Curtis team up with Joan Collins to smuggle some guy out of Italy, accompanied by a series of excellent jokes written by Terry Nation. And in the process, we answer the age-old question, “What did Tony Curtis call Joan Collins during the production that got her so annoyed?” Over and over again, I'm afraid.
It's Saturday which means it's "Spartan SAVAGERY Saturday". Every Saturday leading up to the Spartan 30 Mile Ultra Race, I've programmed in a nasty, physical and mental test. Each week has been getting just a bit worse and worse. This AM I hit "5 Miles The Forged Way" which is a simple 5 mile run BUT... You start with 10 Burpees, 15 Bodyweight Squats, and 20 Push Ups. Then, every 5 minutes thereafter, you have to stop running and repeat the same from above until you finish the 5 miles. It really starts to add up. I got about half way into it and the bodyweight movements no longer felt like "rest". It honestly became an all out war both physically and mentally. My legs were burning like crazy. My calves were screaming at me. Even my shoulders started to get blasted from all of the Push Ups and Burpees. I ended up finishing in an hour and 3 minutes. SLOW, but steady. I never stopped to walk. I never stopped period. Just slow and steady and that was the focus. NO STOPPING. NO QUITTING. People have asked me WHY I'm doing this 30 Mile Spartan Race in Oct??? I'm doing it for the test. I'm doing it to TEST myself. To test my body and my mind. To see what I'm truly made of. I'm NOT doing it to prove anything to anyone else. I could care less what other people think. I'm doing it to PROVE to myself that I'm capable to push through something that scares the shit outta me. Something that I've NEVER done before. This 5 mile run was rough. I can only imagine what those 30 miles are going to feel like... Bring it on mothafucka. I want the challenge. I want the test. As should YOU. Don't ask for easy. Easy won't change you. Take on the hard shit. The shit that forces you to change, build, and grow. The shit that shoves you right out of your comfort zone. That shit that forces you to raise the bar. Because it's either rise above and adapt or fade away and die. Push forward or quit. What do YOU choose? What are you doing in LIFE right now to PROVE this? REFUSE AVERAGE. === Forged FATHER Resources === Join Travis’ High Level Private Coaching Group, “The Forged FATHER Project” - For DRIVEN DAD’s ONLY... Time travel raises a lot of legal issues: how do you insure a time machine, how much goods are you allowed to import from another time, when do you get prosecuted if you commit a crime? Luckily, Irene and Jacob solve most of these problems, and also throw in some facts about the swear words of the future. (The title refers to the Scandinavian mile, which is 10 km. This pod only uses units included in, or based on units included in the International System of Units).
