It's not how you start, it's how you finish. We've all heard it, yet consistently the holidays approach and people just mail in the rest of the year - as if the time from Thanksgiving to New Year's day is just one long holiday. Why is maintaining momentum so crucial to starting your year off right? What is the best way to envision 2018 ending and 2019 beginning? How can you effectively keep momentum? What if life gets in the way? I'll provide the inspiration - you provide the action! Here's the secret - it's all about prioritization.
Figuring out what aspect of your life is raising you up and which one is dragging you down is super important. If you can't whittle down where it is you need to be doing better then how do you know what to work on? Spending energy and focus figuring that out takes away time from actually doing the work that will make you better. Before you listen to this ask yourself where it is you'd like to see radical change in your life - then see where it sits in the system I explain here. Your 3-Spheres: Career, Self, Relationships Your 4-components: Physical, Emotional, Mental, Spiritual
We make choices everyday, we use our energy to accomplish things everyday - but is the fuel we use on our journey founded in positivity or negativity? If you go to work because you are afraid of being poor versus going to work so you can provide a desirable life for yourself and/or your loved ones, well, those are two radically different vibrations you are putting out into the universe. If you go out at night to find a mate because you are afraid of dying alone rather than going out to find someone special to share this amazing journey you are on with - well, again, two radically different approaches for the same outcome. The Law of Attraction, which is really the Law of Action, needs a fuel and if you can't see it as a positive then your mind will surely flip it to a negative and now you are running FROM rather than journeying TOWARD - and that makes all the difference in the world and to living an All The Way Up Life!
Summiting my first 10,000 foot mountain changed everything. I knew something monumental was going to occur up there and sure enough it did - even if it took processing it over night to see the manifestation come to fruition in my mind's eye. The motto, "All The Way Up," started innocently enough on a climbing wall in San Diego and finished with my fraternity brother and I peaking at 10,834 feet. The universes message is clear to me now. All the way up! Everyday, every moment I live, I seek to push myself higher and higher - striving for a life peak that is only another one in a series of life peaks that lead to the next life. Join me as I announce the new, rebranded podcast, "All The Way Up! w/ Jesse Mogle and let you in on what the future will look like for me going forward.

How are you preparing over your weekend to Maintain Momentum on Mondays? My 3 Keys: Eat and drink healthy foods, allot in my schedule the correct amount of time to complete tasks, errands, etc. and really begin to understand and incorporate an abundance of time mindset over a scarcity of time mindset (also known as Einstein time vs Newtonian time.) Of course, I don't drink anymore so saying don't drink over the weekend is easy for me - but for those of you who put poison in your system to relax and decompress could be finding yourself in a situation where Mondays arrive and you are not ready to perform at your optimum level. This can be remedied by letting go of the vices that hinder your repair to prepare and adopting a new lifestyle where you put forth effort to get your body and mind ready to rock out the next week's activities!
Hello everyone! It's great to be back. In episode one of season three I discuss limiting beliefs, negative thought patterns, releasing negativity and so much more as I pass the awesome number - 500 days sober!! It's been an exhilarating year to this point and the trails, tribulations, learnings and journey have been full of highs and lows. From positive self talk to seeing the world through rose-colored glasses I cover 2018 and my overall journey toward my 92nd birthday LOL!
Patrick Ananda started the Magnetic Man Blueprint as a way to help men get out of their heads and into the present. He is vastly different, and in fact not even comparable, to the "pickup artists" that seem to have proliferated since the advent of Facebook and lead generating ads. I mean, what guy wouldn't click on an ad that promised him he would be dating models in less than 30 days if he just signed up for a thousand dollar program? Instead, Patrick teaches what he learned through trail and error - that a woman wants a confident man. A man that does not abide by social norms of meekness, foregoing that already played out scene, in favor of one where honesty and openness are the default settings in the face of awkwardness and social anxiety. I meet the coolest people when I go to conferences and workshops - which I do frequently. Lynn Murphy captured my attention when we began to discuss her personality profiling business and how it helps people better understand their tendencies in the workplace. Of course, I immediately went another direction and thought how this could help people in every aspect of theirs lives with a focus on home and relationships. Enter the DISC personality profile assessment. DISC stands for: Dominance, Influence, Conscientiousness and Steadiness. In layman's terms, DISC is a non-judgemental tool used for discussing people's behavioral differences. It provides a common language that people can use to better understand themselves and adapt their behaviors with others in any relationship capacity. You can google this - it's a thing! Who would have thought that tiling the land could actually kill nutrients in the soil - or that there are more bacteria in a handful of dirt than there are stars in the sky?! Josh Tickell became a household name, and went viral before viral was a thing, in 1997 when he drove his Veggie Van around the country fueled on nothing but used fryer grease. He has since directed multiple documentaries, won a Sundance award for best documentary, "Fuel" and tapped into communicating with millennials like none other. He joins the show this week because of his new book, "Kiss the Ground." It is all about soil rejuvenation and how with proper soil care the world's future food crisis can be averted. He spent over a decade looking into how farmers tend their fields and treat the nutrients in the ground that are so vital to the nutritional aspects the food they grow will one day carry. Alissa Parker knows bodybuilding and how her fitness is directly tied to her nutrition strategy (formerly known as diet.) She also knows how to keep the gains in the gym heading in the right direction when it comes to meal time. 80%ish of the fitness goals one sets for themselves is controlled by what he or she puts into their body - so developing sound eating habits is crucial to hitting those goals you have seen for yourself this year and on into the future. Alissa and I converse on nutrition in the fitness industry, how people's short term diets and goals are counter-productive to longterm health and fitness empowerment and how she battled body image issues since kindergarten to become an International Federation Bodybuilding (IFBB) pro figure competitor. Alissa’s latest book “Fit Starts in the Kitchen” is a cookbook with 100 recipes that she created. She also teaches about how to live a balanced, flexible lifestyle free from the yo-yo's of fad diets and unrealistic expectations. Why aren't we furious about WHY these people are kneeling instead of being furious that they are kneeling? Kneeling has become the hot-button topic dejour since Trump blasted out a series of tweets condemning the protesting players as unpatriotic, entitled and disrespectful to the military and first responders. The narrative has been hijacked by Trump, politicians and the media. This was never about the military. The flag and the anthem are not actually our military and first responders. Those two symbols only play their part in representing our country and culture - and there are people in this country who deem it necessary to display their disproval of the flag and anthem because they want us to pay attention to the injustices playing out in the news cycle regularly. Depending on your perspective you fall on one side or the other. Are they hateful people who don't care that citizens have died in battle for the very existence of our country and they have the audacity to kneel during the playing of the anthem and the displaying of our stars and bars? Or are they silently protesting, with respect, during the playing and the displaying of symbols they see as oppressive and denigrative to their culture, their way of life - in some respects, their very existence. My worry is that instead of doing something about the oppression the African-American (and Muslim, and Asian, and Hispanic and LGBTQE) portions of our society undergo we will just keep getting more and more decisive about this topic while the problem persists throughout our country.

Kenny Pasten and I met at the Wisdom Tree hike in Hollywood. He was hammering in a light into the ground so it would shine on a gigantic American flag. His story was immediately interesting to me. He served and fought in Irag and because of that suffers from PTSD. Upon returning to the states he found the Office of Veteran Affairs ill-equipped to help him has fast as he needed assistance - so he took it upon himself to search for a way to help fend off the nightmares and flashbacks. He obtained a Belgian Malinois and named him Rexitron (after Voltron from the 80s cartoon.) Unfortunately since this interview took place Rexitron has passed away making this story even that much more touching. This man's story is so moving because he is one of thousands who deal with PTSD everyday because of the wars in the Middle East and he is working toward his own recovery daily. He is currently circulating an online petition at change.org to get permits for his memorial flags, located at four distinct hikes in Los Angeles - Griffith Park Observatory, Hollywood Sign, Wisdom Tree and Runyun Canyon and you can support that petition by clicking here - #RexFlagChallenge petition

Market, Political and Destructive Entrepreneurship are occurring all around you and how you spend your money has a determination on the success of the companies that follow one of those practices. But politicians play a big role too. Celestial events are an amazing way to put our lives in perspective. Regardless of humanity's existence or not - the sun will orbit through the Milky Way, the Earth will orbit the sun and the moon will orbit the Earth. We make the choice everyday to live our lives the way we do. How will you spend your time? What kind of impact will you have on those around you? How will those people impact the lives of those around them because of the way you treated them? Grant township started a fight they intend to win. Standing up to Pennsylvania General Energy's plan to put a fracking injection well in their town became a fight for the constitutional rights of the environment. Without people standing up to Big Energy, Scott Pruitt, the head of the EPA, and people of his ilk will continue to devastate our natural landscape for the benefit of the multi-national corporations, the national corporations and the 1% this kind of action profits. The Trump era has ushered in a whole new agenda and the environment and what we can do to protect it must be seen as a bi-partisan issue because in the end we all will drink the water and eat the food that comes out of the poisoned earth and oceans.
Alexander Loyd's book, "Beyond Willpower," uses the Energy Medicine Tool (a practice of stacking your hands over your heart, forehead and crown and circling them in opposite directions every 15 seconds for three minutes per area, three times daily) in order to center oneself and find internal peace. This tool will allow for the focus of our positivity attention to be grounded and centered on the locating the ailments we feel from our internal imbalance and not the external forces that clutter our mind, life and overall state of contentment, peacefulness and happiness. If you feel overwhelmed by bills, commitments, loved ones and life itself, then the Energy Medicine Tool is a way for you to turn your attention internally and find that peaceful congruity you have been yearning for your whole life. For the Wired article click here: http://bit.ly/UkraineEIwJM The Kremlin has attacked every level of the Ukrainian infrastructure in an attempt to weaken the long standing enemy to their overall imperialistic goals. No level of security remains for the embattled Ukrainian government. Over 6500 cyber-attacks in two months has proven nothing is safe in Ukraine from Soviet hackers. Is this a sign for the Western civilizations to stay out of Russia's imperialistic vision and to allow their allies free run of the world? Al gore's "An Inconvenient Sequel" debate last night and Patrick Kleven and I attended because Al Are was there for a Q & A. Climate change is not, I repeat, NOT a political is issue. It is the crisis of the future playing out in the present! Stop and ask yourself, "why would a politician pass legislation that turns it's back on this world changing problem?" If you don't realize it's because go money coming from "Big Coal" then you are fooling yourself.
An Inconvenient Sequel is debuting this week and with it will come renewed conversations on climate change, renewable energies and everything under the sun humans can do to help slow the inevitable rise of our oceans, poisoning of our air and water, etc, etc, etc - this all seems so hopeless as I type this up. Why all the denial? If it's job creation you're looking for studies show a myriad of results and they all point to double the job growth when money is spent on renewables rather than fossils. The energy companies and their cohorts do not care about you - they care about their profits and their yachts. Stop being a pawn - the is not a political issue and we'll all realize that when we're fighting over water, food and other resources while the monarchs running the world dine on the sweat off our brow. I think I know very little about Muslims and their religion Islam - so I set out to learn more. Blinkest has a blink called "The first Muslim" by Lesley Hazelton and it is a quick review of the prophet Mohammed and his origin story. So fascinating. If only we could all just sit down and agree to live on this planet as one instead of fighting over land, resources and long held beliefs in books full of myths. Oh well, good luck with all that. I will continue to curate curiosity by learning as much as I can about Islam and it's core belief structure. After all, I bet we'd all see Muslims a lot differently if we read about them and stopped believing our politicians' opinions beings how they clearly have ulterior motives in saying what they say and believing what they believe. Patience is a virtue, unless your electronics are upsetting you - then it's on! Also, why I don't like leaving Los Angeles. My first official episode since being accepted into the iTunes podcasting family! Here we GO!!
A tough topic to cover but one that I had to speak on the day after the attack. I was not as knowledgeable about Muslim/Islam when I spoke about the attacks so I don't always sound intelligent during this episode. Muslims are the people who follow Islam - like Christians follow Christianity. The fact that it's two different words seemed foreign to me the day I shot this but is one I have understood for some time. This episode was hard to discuss for many reasons - death of people being among them. Plus there is the added fear or knowledge that if I say something wrong, wether I realize it at the time or not, then someone down the line will hear this, say I'm an a-hole and tear me up and down the street for my error. So here's to those who died senselessly in Manchester, for everyone who has died because of terrorism, for everyone who has died because humans still fight religious wars mellenia after they started. To you and yours - bless you.
We all know we need to have patience but the world can push our buttons sometimes. In this episode I discuss life in LA and how I strive to hold my patience even when a slow walker in staring at their phone in a cross walk. Apologies for the bad audio. I figure out what happened and fixed it but the show most go on - or in this case, the show must be posted.
Soylent is named after the old school movie called, "Soylent Green." If you don't remember that movie, the post-apocalyptic drama is set in the near future and the human population has gotten so far out of control we're having a hard time feeding ourselves. So, we eat humans once we have turned their remains into a smoothie. Yum! I tried it for a week and lost five pounds. In this episode I talk about how Soylent and products like it could be an answer for our every growing planetary nutrition needs.
Deadline procrastination is easier to manage as you know, at some point, the deadline will get near and you'll go into freakout mode and actually start getting the work done you were supposed to hours, days or even weeks and months ago. But what of life plans/goals procrastination? When you are the one setting out these plans and you are the only one you have to hold yourself accountable toward then when does the Instant Gratification Monkey get frightened off by the Panic Monster. We are all Rationale Decision Makers, well most of us anyway, but when there's not a deadline looming what motivates you to take the plunge and do what you've always dreamed of accomplishing?
