Don't Just Stand There - Pt 6 - Giving God His Day - Exodus 20:8-11 - Practice: Sabbath The fourth commandment has been misinterpreted by God's people since the very beginning. Some have obsessed over it, making it a legalistic tool to control others. And some have ignored it, treating it as irrelevant. But God gave us this commandment as a gift. When we honor God's day, the benefits are powerful.

Colossians - Pt 5 - According to Paul's instructions in Colossians 4, a life centered on God must manifest as a strategic and gracious presence within the surrounding culture. Believers are called to balance a steadfast internal life of prayer with an external "walk of wisdom" that seeks out and redeems every opportunity to engage with others. Ultimately, our influence is determined by the "power of the tongue," requiring speech that is seasoned with grace to effectively represent the Kingdom of God to a watching world.

Don't Just Stand There - Pt 5 - Our contemporary lives are a blur. We oscillate between frenzied activity and passive doom-scrolling. Our souls need to recharge in God's presence. The discipline of solitude is the answer. Here's how to do it.

Colossians - Pt 4 - Drawing from Colossians 3:12–4:1, this study emphasizes that after "taking off" the old self, believers must "put on" a new garment woven from the love, peace, word, and name of Christ. These spiritual qualities should manifest in a life of thankfulness and worship, ensuring that every word and deed is done in the name of the Lord. This transformation ultimately reshapes how we submit to, love, and serve one another within our families and workplaces as if we are serving the Lord Himself.

Don't Just Stand There - Pt 4 - Jesus talked about money quite a lot for a homeless rabbi speaking to mostly impoverished people. Sixteen of his thirty-eight parables are about money, and most are encouragements to generosity. Being generous changes our eternity, but also changes us in the present. We'll never regret being more generous to the Kingdom, but what are some practical steps to get us there?

Colossians - Pt 3 - Have you ever felt like your faith was becoming more about a checklist of rules than a relationship with Jesus? This week, we explored Colossians 2:16–3:11 to uncover why legalism can be so damaging to our church—trading the joy and freedom of Christ for fear, shame, and a "self-made religion" that doesn't actually change our hearts.

Don't Just Stand There - Pt 3 - If Jesus needed to get away and pray, how much more do we? This message will look at the prayer life of Jesus and give us a mark to aim for.

Colossians - Pt 2 - While the world often tries to capture our hearts through empty philosophies and human traditions, Paul reminds us that true maturity and fullness are found only in Christ. Because Jesus has reconciled us, canceled our debt of sin on the cross, and triumphed over every spiritual authority, we are called to remain stable and steadfast in our faith. By walking in Him and laboring with His powerful energy, we can live a counter-cultural life that reflects the mystery of "Christ in you, the hope of glory."

Don't Just Stand There - Pt 2 - Our root problem is sin, full stop. But since only Jesus can forgive sin, why should we confess our sins to one another? James clearly taught that this was a necessary discipline. In this message, we'll see why.

Colossians - Pt 1 - To walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, we must actively bear fruit through good works, increase our scriptural knowledge, and rely on His power for endurance and joy. This transformation is only possible because we have been delivered from darkness and transferred into the kingdom of Jesus, the image of the invisible God and the sustainer of all creation. Ultimately, we are called to recognize Christ's preeminence as the head of the Church and the only Redeemer who reconciles us to God through the blood of His cross.

Don't Just Stand There - Pt 1 - Many Christians read God's Word. But few of us truly savor it. Those who meditate upon the Word are like trees planted by streams of water. What's the difference between reading and meditating? The answer to that question leads to a life of prospering in all circumstances.

Life Upside Down - Pt 11 - This passage challenges believers to reject idleness and instead embrace the dignity of personal responsibility and hard work as a testimony to others. Paul emphasizes that those who are capable of working should earn their own living rather than becoming a burden or a "busybody" within the community. Ultimately, the passage encourages a lifestyle of quiet diligence and warns that while we must hold idle brothers accountable, we must always do so with the goal of restoration and peace.

Follow - Pt 14 - The key moment in Peter's life was not when He answered Jesus' call. It's when Jesus restored him after his greatest failure. There are three kinds of people: Those like the scribes and teachers of the law, who think they don't need grace; those like Judas, who can't believe in grace; and those like Peter, who joyfully throw themselves into the arms of grace. Which one are you?

Life Upside Down - Pt 10 - Before addressing the difficult cultural challenge of idleness, Paul pivots to a deep reliance on prayer, asking for the Gospel to advance and for protection from those who oppose it. This passage serves as a model for believers, teaching that the same God who establishes the Word also faithfully guards His people against both worldly and spiritual evil. Ultimately, the message highlights that God's faithfulness is the foundation that transforms us into a people defined by His love and Christ's steadfastness.

Follow - Pt 13 - Aside from attending worship and praying for the church, what can “ordinary” disciples do to help the Body of Christ do its world-changing work? Live in harmony with one another. Find our role and do it with all our heart. And empower our leaders.

Life Upside Down - Pt 9 - This message dives into the mystery of 2 Thessalonians 2 to answer the high-stakes question: "Who is the Antichrist?" While the "man of lawlessness" is a figure of intense curiosity and potential deception, the core of this teaching isn't about fueling fear or checking off end-times charts. Instead, it's a call to clarity and composure.

Follow - Pt 12 - Peter wrote this assuming his readers would be suffering persecution. But if we're walking with Him, the world's worst becomes fuel for our growth. We treat our opponents with gentleness, to their astonishment. We identify with Christ in His suffering. We learn to trust Him more. We earn eternal rewards.

Life Upside Down - Pt 8 - Has the world ever felt like it was spinning out of control? The believers in ancient Thessalonica were facing a "triple threat": rising persecution, confusing rumors about the End Times, and a growing sense of "what's the point of working?" that led to idleness. In this part, we dive into the opening chapter of Paul's second letter to this young church—a letter written to anchor their souls when the culture was trying to sweep them away.

Follow - Pt 11 - Earlier in this series, we looked at the power of community to change us. But the church is not merely God's gift to us. It's His tool for changing the world. Though we start out like newborn infants, we become living stones who are built into a Temple for His glory, and a priesthood that represents Him in a world dying for hope.

Follow - Pt 10 - If we have received such a great salvation, it should make a difference in how we live right now. Peter urges us to get ready for action, to live out this life change. We should see newfound holiness, love, and reverence for God.

Follow - Pt 9 - Late in his life, Peter wrote his thoughts about following Jesus. He said salvation was more than a one- time event that gets us into Heaven when we die. It is a living hope, a fulfilling love, a lifelong process, and the culmination of a great plan.

Life Upside Down - Pt 7 - Readiness isn't about predicting a date; it's about living with a purpose that doesn't change when the Master returns.

Follow - Pt 8 - Being with Jesus isn't something we can do in isolation. Jesus left us more than His Word and His Spirit. He also left us His body, the Church. Here's a story in which the entire Body of Christ gets invested in helping Peter in a moment of crisis. It's also essentially the end of Peter being the main character of the book of Acts. But not the end of what God would do in and through him.

Life Upside Down - Pt 6 - This lesson explores how to move beyond unhelpful responses to grief by anchoring our comfort in the historical and biblical promise of Christ's return. We investigate whether modern "Rapture" theology matches the original hope held by the global church for nearly two millennia. We look forward to a literal, bodily resurrection and an eternal reunion with both Christ and our departed loved ones. Death is not the end.

Follow - Pt 7 - Busting Barriers - The more time we spend with Jesus, the more we start to look at the world differently. Barriers between people that others see as insurmountable are simply new challenges for us to overcome.

Life Upside Down - Pt 5 - This passage from 1 Thessalonians 4 is such a grounded, practical call to action. It moves from the high theology of "God's will" straight into the nitty-gritty of how we use our bodies, how we treat our neighbors, and even how we handle our day jobs.

Follow - Pt 6 - When Peter and John were arrested, it should have been the most terrifying moment of their lives. Instead, they left their captors amazed. All that accounted for their behavior was “these men have been with Jesus.” What are the signs the world sees when we've been with Him?

Life Upside Down - Pt 4 - In this message, we explore the deep pastoral heart of the Apostle Paul as he navigates the pain of separation from the Thessalonian church. Despite being hindered by spiritual opposition and physical distance, Paul's primary concern remains the spiritual stability of the believers.

Follow - Pt 5 - “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you,” Jesus promised just before He left them. A few days later, it happened. No one who knew Simon Peter before that day would have believed what he could accomplish. But when the Spirit of God is involved, everything changes. Nothing is impossible.

Life Upside Down - Pt 3 - This passage from 1 Thessalonians 2:13–20 is incredibly rich. It highlights the grit required to keep faith alive when you're being "torn away" from community or facing "suffering from your own countrymen."

Follow - Pt 4 - This is the story of the best and worst day Peter had ever had. We see how the faith he showed that day would be the foundation of the greatest movement the world has ever seen. But we also see how his worst instincts would get in the way of Jesus saving the world. Those instincts are still alive in Christ's people today. What should we do to overcome them?

Follow - Pt 3 - Peter had no qualifications for walking on water. But when Jesus called, he went. We think of discipleship in terms of being with Jesus, and becoming like Him. But the end goal of this process is to do what He did. Do you have the boldness to get out of the boat?

Life Upside Down - Pt 1 - 1 Thessalonians is one of the earliest letters we have that documents early Christianity. Why is this letter important to us today?

Follow - Pt 2 - Jesus wasn't through changing Simon Peter when He called Him. Instead, He was just getting started. In the transfiguration, Peter saw that Jesus was much more than he thought. Later in life, as he thought back to that day, it reminded him of Christ's power to change us. Salvation is an event, but also a process. It's a long transition from a self-centered to a God-centered life. And discipleship is more than just being with Jesus. It's also becoming like Him.

Follow - Pt 1 - How does a life get changed? Simon was just a fisherman in Capernaum. But when Jesus said, “Follow me,” he left it all behind. Has that happened to you yet? What might He have in mind for you, if you truly choose to leave it all and follow?

Invest More in 2026 - Matthew 6:19-24, 33 (ESV) In 2026 let's spend more time studying God's word, more energy serving the church, more resources in ministry and missions, and more of yourself in Kingdom work.

Good News, Great Joy - Pt 4 - Overjoyed - When the magi found Jesus, they “rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.” There are four things you need in order to have that kind of joy all the time, and all four are found in Him.

Good News, Great Joy - Pt 3 - Peace on Earth - We all know the warm picture of rustic shepherds around a manger. But why, of all the people in Judea, were these men chosen as the sole eyewitnesses of the newborn Messiah? The answer is consistent with who Jesus would grow up to be. And it gives us another reason to rejoice.

Good News, Great Joy - Pt 2 - When Mary and Joseph first heard that a baby was coming, they both had reason to be terrified. This would disrupt their lives forever. Their story shows us that when life throws us a curveball, we can still have joy in chaos, peace that makes no sense.

American Idols - Pt 8 - It's possible to believe all the right things and perform all the right rituals, but experience none of the joy of knowing Jesus, and end up driving others away. This is what Jesus taught. Religion can become an idol.

Help My Unbelief - Pt 4 - God is the great physician, and so every time we are healed, He is the ultimate source. When we are sick, or praying for someone who is, this prayer teaches us to remember His power and healing we've already experienced, and to ask Him to do it again. But the prayer from Luke reminds us to trust His will.

Help My Unbelief - Pt 3 - Whatever has us terrified, it can't be worse than what Jehoshaphat faced in this story. In those moments, it's good to pray as he did, “We don't know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”
