Sharing stories of people who are doing extraordinary things in the midst of their ordinary lives.
Welcome to Season 4!!! This season we are highlighting people in different work environments and asking them questions about what it looks like to be a Christian there! Today, Ashley Houin is starting us off with her story of being a stay at home mom. We're back with another “update episode!” We talked to Sophia (Beth Ann's sister) way back in Episode 15 and recently caught up with her again to talk about some pretty big life updates! This is a great episode to share with your teens, college students, singles, parents…okay, basically anyone! Sophia shares what she has learned through international mission work and about intentional dating/dating for marriage which seems a little radical in today's world. It was a great conversation with lots to take away. We love having someone to speak to the “younger crowd” because, well, it's been a minute since our 20's.
Jenny Brown is back with a life update! You may remember her from when she was on the pod in 2020!!! Since our last interview, Ryan and Jenny Brown have written “The Marriage Experience”: Weekly Conversation Starters to Build the Relationship You Desire. It's 52 weeks of guided prompts with a short, biblically-based reading each week, designed to help couples have intentional, affirming, strengthening conversations with each other. Jenny shares all about the book and we discuss marriage advice for all seasons. It's great, practical advice! If you decide to keep listening, skip on back to episode 12 and listen to when she shared her faith journey from childhood to adulthood, saying “yes to God”, and being a pastor's wife. Buy the book on Amazon, or www.the-marriage-experience.com Follow along on Instagram: @simplelifepastorswife @themarriageexperience
For this episode, we had the privilege of getting to talk with Tish Frederick, founder of B.A.Y.A. - a local non-profit with the mission of encouraging, inspiring, and developing youth to find their inner voices; impacting families and communities everywhere. Tish shares how this amazing organization was born out of her own painful experience as a mother of a middle school daughter who was struggling with bullying and destructive behavior. Listen in to learn more about Tish and B.A.Y.A. and all it has to offer to help empower girls in Louisville, KY and Southern IN areas. (There is now a B.A.Y.A. learning center in Clarksville, IN!) Today, we are kicking it back with a re-post of Glorytellers' FIRST EVER episode with our friend, Mallorie! In this episode, Mallorie shares a touching story of how she cared for an elderly neighbor and spurs us on to care for our neighbors as well. Emily, Beth Ann, & Megan McManus (from our last episode!) have a short chat before the episode, sharing ways they've served their neighbors lately. If you weren't around when we started the podcast and haven't listened to this episode, it is one you're sure to love! Listen, be encouraged, and ask God how you can partner with Him in loving your neighbors today! This is a timely chat as prices on gas, food, and everything?! seem to be on the rise. Megan McManus, a wife, mom of three, and RN with a passion for nutrition and fitness, sat down with us (in person!) to share what she's learned and implemented in her daily personal (and spiritual) life as well as budget friendly hacks for eating, shopping, and working out. We also talk about feeding kids because the struggle is real, y'all, the struggle is r e a l. We love to listen to an episode like this when we are needing some extra “oomph” to take care of ourselves, to push play on that workout, to keep making good food choices, etc. A listen like this really helps motivate! So put those headphones in and listen, learn, and be inspired! For more good info follow Megan @garnish_withgrace
What a fun episode with someone we've followed and admired for a long time - pastor's wife, mother to 7, and entrepreneur Mission CEO of Francis & Benedict: Katie Walters! Listen in to hear what Katie has learned about marriage, parenting a wide range of ages, and following a globally impactful, God-given dream to help women and families in Togo, Africa. We even breach the topic of s-e-x when talking about marriage… in case you're listening with little ears present, we do give a little “fyi” to put in your ear buds if you want, right before that part of the convo! We are so thankful to Katie for her time and vulnerability, and we know you'll enjoy this conversation and leave inspired and encouraged!
