Sarah Ann Macklin, is hailed as the Jamie Oliver of the nutrition world by Marie Claire. Sarah is an award-winning AfN-accredited nutritionist, and is well-respected in her field. She is a renowned podcast host, public speaker, TEDx speaker, international model, and health journalist, and was named Woman of the Year in 2019 by Rake Magazine. In addition to her personal accomplishments, Sarah Ann founded the Be Well Collective, a not-for-profit organisation that focuses on preventative mental health initiatives. Her top 4 UK podcast, Live Well, Be Well, has garnered significant success and furthered her reach in the health and wellbeing space. In 2018, Sarah Ann presented her findings on dietary guidelines and their connection to the Type 2 diabetes epidemic at the European Parliament in a campaign called "Big Food and Big Pharma: Killing for Profit?" Two years later, she launched a public health campaign through her book, The Great British Veg Out, which encouraged the UK to implement its 5-a-day initiative gaining support from Gary Barlow to Victoria Pendleton. Drawing from her 15 years as a successful international model, Sarah identified the lack of nutritional guidance for young women and men in the industry. This inspired her to establish the Be Well Collective, which has since hosted education summits for up to 500 attendees at a time, conducted over 20 workshops, and launched two mentoring programs, as well as providing online resources weekly. So far, Sarah and her organisation have supported over 1000 young people in person, providing essential and sometimes lifesaving services. Sarah's 2019 TEDx talk, "Are models, role models?" further solidified her role as a recognized public speaker on physical and mental health. Her parents, Isaac and Sarah Ann, were both emancipated slaves. She was the first Black woman to graduate from Upper Iowa University; the first black woman to graduate from Chicago Training School; and the first black woman to be supported and sent out as a missionary to Africa by the Women's Foreign Mission Society. Susan worked in various capacities with Bishop Taylor before starting and building her own school and orphanage in Quessua where she served as the administrator, teacher, principal, and nurse for over twenty-five years. When she returned to the states, Susan was a sought-after speaker at women's meetings, churches, and various events. She never complained about the hardships or setbacks of her life, though there were many, but rather she worked with whatever circumstances life presented her with great success. Convicted serial rapist Harvey Weinstein (HW) will be sentenced AGAIN in Los Angeles on February 23, 2023 following his conviction of rape, sexual penetration by foreign object and forcible oral copulation. He is already serving a 23-year prison sentence after being convicted of rape and sexual assault charges in New York in 2020. Joining us today are Sarah Ann Masse and Rowena Chiu who say they survived assaults by HW though sadly their cases were not addressed in these convictions. You will not believe it when Rowena tells us the abhorrent details of the Non Disclosure Agreement she was made to sign by HW's lawyers in order to silence her about almost being raped. Sarah Ann tells us about the RICO action she was part of to hold his enablers accountable as they were complicit in his alleged illegal activities including rape, assault, and sex trafficking. As we come to the end of a very exciting season eight, I wanted to personally share all the learnings I've learned from the last 12 episodes. I feel incredibly honoured as the host of this podcast to sit down and have inspiring, emotional conversations with such a diverse range of people. I've learned so much after eight seasons, but even more especially after these 12 episodes because this season we took a real, drive focus by increasing our production and going to every single guest's house all over the country. And through that, being in their homes, connecting to them more personally, not only do I remember all of those conversations, but I really felt a sense that they opened up to me more as well. I feel really privileged and honoured. And for that reason, I wanted to end the series with a solo episode with all the things I've learned personally. We spoke with people from Professor David Nutt who looks at psychedelics and how we can actually wire our brain, to how the epicentre of our health is our gut health, and through entrepreneurial women such as Liz Earle, she taught me how we can engineer our own serendipity. So all of my findings and learnings, I am going to bring to you today to end series 8. Sarah Carlson is a health coach who was diagnosed with breast cancer in late 2020. I'm delighted to welcome Sarah Ann Macklin, a registered nutritionist and former fashion model on today to tell us all about her fascinating journey and omega 3. First some background on Sarah, who founded the first not-for profit organisation in the fashion industry called the Be Well Collective and has her own nutrition practice. Her 13 years as a successful international model showed her how young women are expected to look and perform at their physical best without being offered nutritional guidance. For Sarah it was a serious oversight that models who were expected to conform to certain aesthetic standards were not being educated in achieving these goals by eating to enhance their health, wellbeing and mental energy. Sarah has published a book The Great British Veg Out to encourage people to eat their 5 a day. When we talk about Mormon polygamy, we usually mean polygyny—where a man has more than 1 wife.  The opposite of that is polyandry, where a woman can have more than 1 husband.  Did you know that Joseph was sealed to women who were already married?  In this episode, Dr. Brian Hales talks about several of these instances.  We'll talk in detail about one of these women, Sylvia Session Lyon.  She gave birth to a girl named daughter, Josephine, and Josephine's mother said she was the child of Joseph.  They did a DNA test to see if Josephine was the daughter of Joseph or Windsor. I theorized that the marriage between Joseph Smith and Sylvia Sessions Lyon did include sexual relations in that plural marriage, and I had some theories as how that might have unfolded.  When the DNA evidence came back—and part of the theory was that Joseph was the father of Josephine [daughter of Sylvia Sessions Lyon.]  That's an important point.  But when the DNA evidence came back that Windsor Lyon was the father, it required me to re-write things.  I'll be honest with you.  It wasn't what I expected, but it was what I had hoped. Brian now believes that there were no sexual relations between Joseph and any of these 11-14 polyandrous marriages. Brian:  Why the women chose Joseph over their legal husbands, sometimes these men were active Latter-day Saints, we don't know.  It seems odd.  But it's not as odd as them practicing actual sexual polyandry without anybody ever talking about it or finding that to be controversial. GT:  Ok, so your opinion is of all the eleven polyandrous marriages, where a woman could have two husbands essentially, none of them involved sexual relations. Brian:  Correct. GT:  That's your opinion.  Ok.  So let's talk a little bit about… Brian:  Rick, let me interrupt though.  If people go to my books, they're going to be confused because I used the word eleven.  The twelfth polyandrous marriage on the chart is Sarah Ann Whitney to Joseph C. Kingsbury, which was a front marriage.  Everybody involved with that realized that she was sealed to Joseph but apparently there was some legal issues going on, so Joseph asked Kingsbury to have a legal marriage but not consummate the marriage.  Everybody agrees that was the relationship.  That's number twelve. Number thirteen is Lucinda Pendleton who we just know nothing about, and the fourteenth one is to Mary Herron who we have one attestation that connects her to Joseph sexually but we don't know any of the details.  If somebody goes to my chart, there's actually fourteen women on that but eleven of them we believe were eternity-only, two are undocumented so just take your guess, and then we have this pretend marriage with Sarah Ann, so fourteen in total. He theorizes that this was Joseph's attempt to satisfy the angel with a flaming sword.  Joseph was completing these sealings in order to fulfill the angel's command and also placate Emma. We also address the rumor that Joseph sent men on missions so he could marry their wives. Brian nods:  The problem is we have two sealing dates for Joseph and Marinda.  The other date is from an affidavit Marinda signed that is well after Orson Hyde returning from Palestine.  Even the one that appears to be a case where Joseph might have sent him on a mission, then he waits a year—it doesn't make sense.  A year later we have Joseph being sealed to Marinda, but again we have a second date.  The second date is a signed affidavit which we probably would consider to be more reliable than something that was just scrawled on a page in Joseph's journal, not in his handwriting but in I think Thomas Bullock's [handwriting.]  Again that story is false, yet it's a sound bite.  It's all over the internet.  We've got to kill it.  It's wrong.  It's false.  Joseph did not send men on missions and so he could marry their wives according to any reliable documentation.
