What's up, everyone? Welcome back to the podcast. I hope you're having an amazing day. Thank you so much again for joining us this week, we have another great episode for you. Today is actually part two of the series that we started last week, which is all about what is interpersonal hypnotherapy. So last week, we talked a lot about the history of hypnosis and hypnotherapy and sort of where a lot of these ideas originated and came from and some of the different pioneers along the way that have made tremendous contributions to the profession as a whole. And then how we are working to really push that forward and to continue to increase the professionalism and the level of transformation that's possible through hypnosis. You know, we have the institute here of interpersonal hypnotherapy, as well as the International Association of interpersonal hypnotherapy. So between IH and I Aih, we're really working hard again, to just bring a high level of legitimacy to this career, and to this industry as a whole. And to really protect hypnotherapy as a profession for all of you listening, as well as us and any other hypnotherapist in the world, to really be able to bring this transformation to their clients. I believe, personally, that this is an extremely fascinating and important line of work that we're in. I think that it's more necessary now than maybe ever before. But again, that's just from my perspective, as a 35 year old male and living in, you know, the 21st century. But it's it's interesting how our world is today. And I think that through hypnotherapy, we can really help each other grow and transform, and just continue to evolve as a human species. I know that's a it's big thinking, but I really believe that that's what's happening. And that's what's transpiring right now. Anyways, today again, we're diving into part two of what is interpersonal hypnotherapy? With this episode, we're actually going to really get into the specifics of interpersonal hypnotherapy. Okay, so this idea of the interpersonal part, right? We know what hypnotherapy is. But what does the interpersonal aspect of it? And what does that add? So we're going to talk about some stuff like the rapid Resolution Protocol, the 10 Minute Miracle Cure, it's, you know, a little bit of a hypee sort of name, but we definitely are creating miracles here with this work. So I don't think that that's out of reason to call it the 10 Minute Miracle Cure. You know, most people really don't realise the true power of the mind, and how our mind is actually creating our reality. every moment of every day that we live that we experienced, that we perceive as our life, it's all starting in the mind. And if you've ever watched the movie, The Secret, then you know, the famous line that thoughts become things. I really, truly believe that that is true, you know, our thoughts originate in our mind, and they become the things that we experience in our life. So this interpersonal idea is all wrapped around the mind and how we create our life and our reality. And really, in this episode, we're going to look at, you know, how peace is actually health and why you really shouldn't discount that simple statement. Also, we're going to take a look at the separation and the ego. You know, again, we alluded to this in last week's episode, but the ego has multiple parts, and we we all have these parts going basically at war against each other on a regular basis inside of our mind. So the ego is separated into the adult mind, the child mind and the parent mind, also called ego states. Again, we all have these different ego states, in our minds and in our in our subconscious, and some of them are stronger than others, some of them are more dysfunctional than others, but they're all in there and they all have a voice and you know, they are all sort of communicating with each other. And so this is really the root of our problems in life really. We're going to talk about why a lot of physical sickness and the the behaviours that we experience, why they're really just symptoms and how interpersonal hypnotherapy addresses those symptoms and really addresses the underlying problem that's causing those symptoms. This is all about returning to spirit returning to our oneness, our healthy best highest self, okay, that's that's our aim here with interpersonal hypnotherapy is to allow ourselves and our clients to really become one with what truly is. And that's the spirit of life. So, I hope you enjoy this episode. It's really really fascinating. Make sure you're listening. And if you haven't already done so make sure you subscribe to our podcast because we're putting out some amazing content like this every single week. What's up everyone, welcome back to the podcast. Thank you so much for joining us this week. I really hope you're having a nice day, and let's make it a little bit nicer. Today we are diving into the specifics around interpersonal hypnotherapy and more specifically the interpersonal part of it you know, what is enter personal hypnotherapy? Why do we call it enter personal hypnotherapy, the idea of interpersonal really boils down to the connections and the people that we have in our lives. And this idea was something that came to Matthew, actually, I believe in meditation, when, you know, he started thinking about just the school and the training that he was providing and how he really wanted to bring the deeper aspect of healing and transformation through with this sort of proprietary brand, if you will, of hypnotherapy training. So our institute is called the Institute of interpersonal hypnotherapy. It's because Matthew really wanted to focus heavily on this idea of the different people, so to speak, quote, unquote, people, okay, that we all have inside of our mind. So what we're really talking about here is the subconscious mind and how it can be broken down into multiple different parts, if you will, and these parts are always communicating with each other. They really are creating the framework and the fabric of our perspective, right of how we internalise our life, our experience of life, and whether it's a good life or a bad life, the different problems that we think we may face, or that we, you know, deal with on a regular basis, the behaviours that we have, whether they're positive or negative behaviours, healthy or unhealthy behaviours. You know, these all stem from the subconscious mind and the different relationships that we have with ourselves and these parts have with each other. It's sort of a weird concept. But the idea, you know, not to say that we have multiple personalities, but there are definitely multiple parts inside of our mind. So Matthew is going to dive in, you know, and really explain this a lot better than what I'm doing right now, but really get to the granular level of what interpersonal hypnotherapy actually is, and what these different parts of our subconscious mind are, and why, you know, we're all at war with ourselves internally, and we all create this internal conflict and suffering based on the relationship that these parts have with each other. This is going to be a really interesting episode for you, this is going to be broken up into two parts. So this first part here is really actually going to focus more on some of the history of hypnosis and hypnotherapy and where it all came from. It's really fascinating stuff because you're going to learn about how this all came to be. You know how hypnosis has transformed over the years and, and over the decades and how different pioneers have added their own little touch. And you know, I really want to believe that Matthew will go down in history as another pioneer moving this needle forward with hypnosis and hypnotherapy and his contributions to what he's created. You'll hear about the likes of mesmer and mesmerism, Dr. Sigmund Freud, Dave Elman, Gil Boyne. These are just some of the names of people that have really contributed a lot to this field of hypnosis and hypnotherapy. And then obviously now with what we are offering from the Institute, as well as through the association that Matthew has put together called the International Association of interpersonal hypnotherapist or IH for short. I really hope you enjoy this one there's a lot to uncover and unpack in this episode. And then you know, again, this is only part one so make sure you're subscribed and that you get notifications because we'll be releasing Part Two next week, which is another great episode. Anyways, without further ado, let's go ahead and jump right into it. This week's sponsor is HypnotherapySites, a website design agency dedicated to hypnotherapists. What's up, everyone? Welcome back to the podcast. Thank you so much for tuning in again this week, we are picking up with part two of our little series here on the Bodhisattva vow, okay, and are you a bodhisattva? Right? Do you take on this vow to heal all beings in this planet and in this reality that we call life. You know, if you're interested in hypnotherapy, if you are a healer or a coach, then you are taking part in this vow, you are spending your time on this planet, your life, to help heal others and to bring an end to the suffering that we all experience. And that's a beautiful thing. In this episode, we're going to continue with our previously recorded conscious community class. This is going to be really nice, because there's actually a couple of meditations in this one, Matthew is going to lead us through two meditations, the first one is really focused on the healing states of the Masters, it's a great visual, it's a great meditation, because it takes you through this visualisation of seeing your version of God, or whatever you decide is the creator. And understanding it from an internal level, really moving into it as it is you and you are it and then you come back down into Earth, and you bring that light and that love with you. I think you're really going to enjoy that meditation. And then the second meditation is really focused more on the deeper states of meditation. So really a nice episode we have for you today, definitely recommend that you sort of put everything else aside as you listen to this one. And really allow yourself to dive into these meditations, you know, fully and completely and just go with, go with the guided imagery and the meditation because as as you'll see the people that were going through this live in the class, they really enjoyed it, and I think you will, too. With all that being said, let's go ahead and jump into the episode. Remember, we are shifting our perception, here we are shifting into awakening and understanding that there is peace, there is love. We are that bringing it into this world right now, in the present moment, as this present moment is the only thing that matters, it's the only thing actually in existence, because the past doesn't actually exist. The future doesn't matter. Nobody knows the future. We need to act and respond with this present moment, bringing light and love to ourselves and to everyone around us taking on this vow of the Bodhisattva to end suffering for all sentient beings. I just honour you, and I appreciate you. I'm grateful for you doing this with your life and your time that you have here on the planet. Thank you so much for being you for being an amazing listener of this podcast. Let's go ahead and jump right into it. Hey, what's up, everyone. Welcome back to the podcast. Thank you again for joining us this week. I hope you're having an amazing day. And definitely good start to the week here with this episode. First of all, we've made it to Episode 20, which is just incredible. Definitely, I'm super grateful to have you here and really quite proud that here we are at 20 episodes. And I really feel like this show just started not too long ago. But we're getting to a place now where we're starting to pump out these episodes on the regular, and we've got some systems in place. I hope you're enjoying this content. And you know, make sure you're subscribed because we're going to be producing a lot more episodes for you, as we continue to move forward. Today's show is going to be really, really interesting, we're actually diving into what's called the Bodhisattva vow. And this is something you know, in the world of spirituality, something that's very important, and really quite central to this idea of enlightenment and suffering, right? It's the human condition, you know, that we suffer from? What does it mean to be human? Right? That's what we explore in this podcast is the ideas that are deeper to the essence of humanity, and what it really means to be a human in this world. And why are we suffering? Why do we live a life where it seems like, everywhere we turn, there's suffering involved? Well, that's kind of what this Bodhisattva vow is all about. If you've ever heard of the Bodhisattva, the Bodhisattva vow, then you might know what I'm talking about. But if not, that's what we're going to be covering in this episode. So if you've ever asked the questions, you know, what is a Bodhisattva? Can I become a Bodhisattva? What is the vow of the Bodhisattva? You know, who is Buddha? Right? This is where this kind of started from is with Buddha himself. And, you know, if you want to learn more about the story of Buddha, that's what we're going to be talking about in this episode, as well as what is enlightenment? Really? What's the point of becoming enlightened? You know, again, there's suffering happening all around the world. So is it really a valid pursuit to you know, have enlightenment as a goal of yours personally? What does that actually mean? Right? Are we moving towards a spiritual awakening personally? So individually? And or are we moving towards an awakening collectively as a human race? Can we actually get there? And is it really even worth it? You know, who are we truly as individuals, and as humans collectively? I know, these are big questions. They're very profound. And they definitely can have different answers based on your perspective and your experiences. But that's really what we're going to be talking about today, or rather, what Matthew is going to be talking about today. Again, this is another past recording of a conscious community class, we're bringing this material to you refreshing it and sort of putting it front and centre again, so that you can consume this because the material here is just absolutely amazing. But you know, sometimes it's a little hard to consume, to sit down to a two-hour video. We wanted to make these into more bite sized episodes, keeping things at an hour or less, and leaving it in the audio form. That way, you can consume it passively. Anyway, I really hope you enjoy this, you're going to learn a little bit more about Matthew and his background, you're going to learn a little bit more about the school in general. And then we're really going to start talking about this deep spiritual teaching of the Bodhisattva in its essence, and what is the vow of the Bodhisattva. Again, thank you for being here. I really hope you enjoy this one. Let's go ahead and jump right into it. This week's sponsor is HypnotherapySites, a website design agency dedicated to hypnotherapists. What's up, everyone? Welcome back to the podcast. Thank you so much for joining us. This is Episode 19. I can't believe it, I just thought about it right now we are almost at 20 episodes, which is just kind of crazy to think about. You know, not that long ago, we just started this show. So, almost 20 episodes in. I just want to say thank you so much, I really truly am grateful to have you here listening have you as a part of the community. I really hope that you're getting a lot of value from these shows and from these episodes. And you know, if you haven't done so already, make sure you subscribe to the podcast. That way you get notifications every time I release a new episode, I'm doing my best to put one out every single week for you. To just bring you some amazing content that we have, you know, Matthew Brownstein has been teaching for almost 20 years now, maybe even longer. He has basically poured his heart and soul and all of his knowledge into many different areas. So what we're doing with this show, is trying to condense that information and sort of bring it back to the light and bring it back front and centre to share it with you in this new format of an audio podcast. Again, I really hope you're enjoying the show, I hope you're getting a lot of value from it. So today's episode is a part two of our little series we're doing on meditation and hypnosis, and sort of diving into some of the differences, some of the similarities, and a little bit of the overlap between what is meditation? What is hypnosis? And are they the same? Are they different? What's going on here. If you haven't listened to part one, make sure you go back to last week's episode because it's really super informational and interesting. And you really kind of get an idea of the fundamentals of what makes hypnosis different from meditation. In today's episode, we continue on with this conversation. And really, what you're going to learn here is that I don't want to spoil it for you or anything. But really, the main difference here is that even in deep, deep meditation, you're not necessarily healing some of those inner issues that you have some of these deeper sand scars as they're called. This is kind of like sort of the main difference between meditation and hypnosis. Because in hypnosis, since we have a practitioner there and a facilitator there, you know, we can really help to heal our clients. If we're doing hypnosis on ourselves, we can really help to heal ourselves from those different things that we're dealing with, whether it's anxieties or fears, or you know, just trauma from our childhood, whatever it might be. With meditation, it's more just a state of bliss and a state of just deep, deep relaxation. At least that's how I understand it. And you know, Matthew is going to dive in and really explain this further. Make sure you're dialled in, you're taking notes. I really hope you enjoy this episode. Let's go ahead and jump right into it. This is part two of the difference between meditation and hypnosis. This week's sponsor is HypnotherapySites, a website design agency dedicated to hypnotherapists. Get 20% OFF a custom website for your practice: www.hypnotherapysites.com/illuminated
What's up, everyone, welcome back to the podcast. Thank you so much for tuning in. I really hope you're having an amazing day today. We're gonna dive into a really cool episode, I think you're gonna enjoy this one. Today we are talking about the differences and similarities between meditation and hypnosis. If you are a meditator yourself, if you practice meditation on a regular basis, then you already know that meditation really involves this deep level of relaxation, and peace and just mindfulness. And we carry a lot of this over into hypnosis as well, especially when we are facilitating sessions for our clients. And we're helping them get into deeper levels of relaxation, and thus, deeper levels of hypnosis. But there's some key differences between these two different practices. And today, we're going to take a look at some of what those differences are. We'll also, like I said, take a look at some of the similarities and where these two sort of ideas kind of overlap each other. Now, we are going to dive into a past conscious community Class A recording that Matthew Brownstein has created, where he was teaching, and going really deep on these ideas of meditation and hypnosis, and again, what's different and similar about the two. Now just a couple of things, you know, to make sure that you're listening for Matthew's going to talk about the different brainwaves and different mind states, if you will, that are associated with each of these practices of meditation and hypnosis. And then he's also going to really dive into some interesting perspectives. Because if you don't know, Matthew is a religious scholar, and has spent most of his adult life studying, you know, all the different world's religions. And he's just got such a cool perspective when it comes to looking at these different practices of hypnosis, and meditation, as well as many other things, but understanding them from different perspectives based on you know, what he studied about different religions. So again, this is going to be super fascinating and interesting for you, I really think you're going to learn a lot in this episode. This is going to be part one of a two part series, because these classes, they go a little long as you know, and I want to condense this into two different episodes for you. So this is part one. I hope you enjoy it. I'm back for next week for part two. So let's go ahead and jump in. This week's sponsor is HypnotherapySites, a website design agency dedicated to hypnotherapists. Hey everyone. Welcome back to the podcast. I'm super glad to have you back today for the final part four of this series on how to be successful as a hypnotherapist. So today we are going to pick back up with the review on the Life Mastery course and Matthew Brownstein is going to really dive into all of the different parts of it. There's six different sections of this Life Mastery course and really, it's a binder is what you end up creating. He goes through each section and then at the end, he finishes up kind of giving you a recap of all 12 prosperity principles. So again, remember, this is all to help you be more successful in your business and in your life. In general. This is all about manifesting and creating the abundance and the prosperity, the success, whatever it is that you want to create in your life. This is how you do it. Real quick, just to give you an introduction to what the Life Mastery course is, again, there's sort of six parts. Part one is your core mission statement. Part two is all about your values and life principles. Part Three is the universal laws that sort of govern existence as we know it (and when you understand these universal laws, you can really start to use them to your advantage). Part Four is the live categories prioritized. Part Five is your goals; short-term, mid-term, and long-term. And then Part Six is the 12 prosperity principles. So again, this is a value-packed episode. There's a lot of information that you're going to understand and uncover in this episode, so it would do you a lot of good to have a pen and paper handy. Take some notes. And really use this as a guideline and take action on what you're learning in this episode. Because the value of this Life Mastery course really is what it says it is - it helps you master your life. Your personal life, your professional life, and just gain success in all areas. Hey, what's up everyone, welcome back to the podcast. And again, just a huge thanks for being such an amazing listener and joining this community. You know this has been a lot of fun so far. I really hope you guys are enjoying these episodes. So today, we're going to continue in this theme that we've been in for the last two weeks, which is all about success as a hypnotherapist. Today is actually part three of how to be successful in your own practice, you know, either as a hypnotherapist or honestly, doing any type of therapy or service-based business, all of these principles still apply. Right? So obviously, we're here talking directly to hypnotherapists, but if you're working as any type of alternative healer or a therapist, counselor, or coach of any sort, this stuff should be helping you and giving you ideas on how you can increase your business and increase your success. So today, what we're going to be talking about is specifically, something that Matthew Brownstein has created called the Life Mastery course. Alright, so we're going to get into sort of an intro into what the Life Mastery course is, and really how to manifest your success and prosperity. Anything that you can imagine that you want for your business for yourself or your success, this is literally how you can do that, and how you can create that. So Matthew Brownstein is going to share with you what he calls "mental technologies". The top five mental technologies that you can use to help manifest this success and prosperity in your life. If you want to learn how to leverage the power of your mind, that's what this episode is all about. So you're going to learn these top five mental technologies, we're also going to get into different aspects of this Life Mastery course. So the first thing is the getting organized process, which is really about you know how to set up this whole process for yourself and for your business. And then we're going to start getting into some things called prosperity principles, which are just basic principles that you need to establish for yourself so that you can start manifesting this prosperity and success for yourself and for your business. We'll call this part three. And then next week, we'll have part four where we'll finish up on the prosperity principles, and then finish up on the Life Mastery course. But there's just so much information I had to break this down into a couple of different classes. So I really hope you enjoy this episode. What's up everyone? Welcome back to the podcast. And this is a follow up on last week's episode where we really dive into what it takes to be successful as a hypnotherapist, you know, really talking about what you can do online to market your business and advertise your services and start getting more clients into your door or if you're doing online sessions, obviously to start getting more clients booking time with you online. So in today's episode, we're going to pick back up with some of the more successful graduates that we've had from our school. today. We've got three more that Matthew is going to be talking about on what they're doing to be successful in their practice. And then we also dive into seven things that you can do to get clients. So again, this is a great opportunity for you to be taking notes, make sure you have your pen and paper ready. Just some really valuable information in today's episode. All right, so let's go ahead and jump into it. I hope you enjoy this one. This week's sponsor is HypnotherapySites, a website design agency dedicated to hypnotherapists. Hey everyone, welcome back to the show, and super pumped to have you here. You know, we took a little bit of a break last week, so please forgive me for not having an episode for you last week, but I am super excited about today's episode. This one actually goes back to my roots. So talking about marketing and how to really be successful in your business. If you are a hypnotherapist or you're trying to start a hypnotherapy practice, you're really going to get a lot out of this episode. So make sure that you've got a notebook handy with a pin. And you're going to want to take some notes. So in today's episode, we're going to listen back to a past, you know, conscious community class where Matthew Brownstein is teaching a lot of what he's learned over the past 20 or so years running his hypnotherapy practice. Some of the different marketing and advertising ideas that he's you know learned work and what doesn't work, as well as diving into a course that he's created called the Life Mastery course. And there's a lot of principles within this Life Mastery course that can really help you honestly create not only the business of your dreams but the life of your dreams as well. It's really about manifesting and creating everything that you've ever dreamt of everything that you've ever desired and your life you can have it. And so you're going to learn how to actually obtain that in this episode. So some of the cool things that we'll be going over today will be you know, ideas again, that will be things that can help you be more successful as a hypnotherapist. Matthew is also going to show you how to calculate what you can earn as a hypnotherapist and in your own private practice, and then how to get down to certain goals and metrics that you should be setting for yourself. And also, Matthew actually asked four of the school's most successful graduates what they're doing to run their practice successfully. And so we get a lot of really great feedback on you know what other graduates and students are doing as well to run their hypnotherapy practices. Now, this episode is going to be a four-part series. So you know, we're going to get into a lot of what one graduate has to say in this episode, but in next week's episode, we're actually going to cover what three other graduates are doing to run their hypnotherapy practice successfully. So again, if you're a hypnotherapist, or you want to become a hypnotherapist, this one is gold, make sure you're taking notes. And without further ado, let's go ahead and jump into it. Hey, everyone, welcome back to the podcast and welcome to part two of how A Course in Miracles can brighten your life. So we left off in the last episode with Matthew Brownstein talking about this idea of suffering, right, and how we all suffer in our life, because of this disconnect from our Creator. Now, however you see God, whatever you call that, right, this idea of a higher power, a higher being a creator of this life that we live, all suffering comes from this separation from that source. We're here on Earth, thinking that we are on our own, right, that we're alone, and that we're left to deal with our life. And this is what creates all of the different types of suffering in the world by thinking that we are having to take it all on ourselves, and whatever you might be feeling whether it's fear, or pain, or guilt, or shame, or any of the other negative feelings that arise, really out of the base emotion of fear stems from this fear of being alone. And so this is really what Matthew is talking about. And we're gonna pick right back up into the conversation. And yeah, there's just so much to learn. So I really hope you're enjoying these episodes. I really appreciate you listening. And if you haven't already, please make sure you leave us a rating and review on iTunes. Let us know what you think about the show. And if you have any ideas for topics that you'd like us to cover, let us know that as well. All right, let's get right into it.
Hey, everyone, welcome back to illuminated mind, I really appreciate you being here. And today we're going to be talking about A Course in Miracles again. So we did an introduction to A Course in Miracles back on episode four, I believe. And it was really fascinating because this is something that, you know, I've come across multiple times in my life, and especially recently in my, my spiritual progress in my journey, you know, but this, this idea of a course, or a practice that you can do every day to really help you come from a place of love, and sort of reframing the way that you look at things that happened in your life. This, this, of course, in miracles, for those that don't know, you know, it's a book that was channeled. And basically, the idea is that it wasn't of human origin. This is what Matthew explained to me that he doesn't believe it was from, you know, from anyone particular person. However, one lady did transcribe what she was channeling the information she was receiving, but it's really powerful. And it's broken down basically into 365, daily lessons, or steps. And you, you just follow these lessons, and you go through the course. And it helps kind of break down and deconstructs your mind and your ego and the way that you look at things. And it gives you a new perspective, you know, a healthier perspective, a way to come from a place of love, as opposed to being afraid and in fear all the time. And I think right now that this information is really relevant, and I think it's really important. In this episode, we're actually going to go back and listen to a previous conscious community recording again, where Matthew is teaching a class on a course in miracles, and how it relates to hypnotherapy and the work that we do as hypnotherapists and sort of just some of the parallels and what we can pull from A Course in Miracles to help our clients get over some of the issues that they're dealing with in their life, right and move past some of the trauma to heal that and to move forward and see again live in a new way, a new healthier perspective. And so if you're dealing with anything right now that that is a little bit frustrating for you or you've got some you know, some things that you'd like to work out. Or if you're just looking for some ways that you can help your clients you know, as a hypnotherapist or hypnotist, or therapist, or whatever it is that you might be doing. If you're working with people to help them better their lives, right and to create a happier, healthier existence, that I think you're really going to enjoy this episode. So because this is a longer class, again, I'm going to break this down into two parts. The first part will be about an hour, and it might end a little abruptly. But we'll come back next week with part two to finish up this conscious community recording. However, I highly suggest that you listen to the introduction from Episode Four, as well as both of these episodes here because, again, this information this course, it really is a miracle and what it can do for you and your life. It really is truly transformative. Let's go ahead and jump into it. I hope you enjoy this episode.
Today we're picking up on part two of this idea of peace under all circumstances. So in part one, Matthew led us through a really beautiful meditation. And if you haven't had the opportunity to check that out, I would suggest going back and listening to that episode first. Because that meditation is really powerful in helping you understand sort of the frame of mind that really allows you to find that peace, regardless of what your external environment looks like. And kind of regardless of what's going on in your head, it's this idea of being the observer to your life, as opposed to actually being the life itself, if that makes sense. And if not, again, go back and listen to that first episode, because it really is powerful to get your mindset right, and to establish this seat of the witness, if you will, this seat of the observer. So today, we're going to pick up on part two, and Matthew is going to continue on with some of these different questions that you can ask yourself, I love this idea of being able to find peace under all circumstances, especially right now with the way that the world is. I think that this information is super crucial for just peace of mind and giving you some tools and resources that you can use to help you find peace in your life. So yeah, so this episode is part two of a two-part series. I really hope you enjoy this and thank you so much again for listening to Illuminated Mind. Today's episode starts off a little different than some of the other ones, you'll notice that the energy is a little bit different. That first clip that you just heard is actually from a meditation that is included towards the end of this episode. And it's a meditation that Matthew facilitates, that really is going to help us find peace and calmness in any circumstance that we might be experiencing right now in our life. You know, and I think that this episode is really important right now, with the current times that we're in, because we're living in a difficult world right now, you know, no matter where you are in the world, there's a lot that's going on, that we probably have never had to deal with before some of the decisions we're having to make some of the things that we're having to deal with, it can seem like it's unfair, or just doesn't make sense, why we're having to deal with some of the things we're dealing with. But anyway, the main theme of this episode is looking into the space between what's real and what's not real, and kind of separating the truth from the illusion, you know, who are you versus Who do you think you are? It's a really deep concept, it's a deep question. And Matthew does a great job of breaking it down. So I really recommend that you set aside some time and give yourself a place to really sit down and just kind of focus in on this material, while actually going through the meditation and maybe not, you know, doing other things while listening to this one. I know that usually with a podcast, you're kind of listening passively while you're doing other stuff. Maybe you're working, maybe you're driving, that's totally cool. Obviously, you can listen to this while doing those things. But you'll get the maximum benefit if you set aside some time, and actually allow yourself to go deep into the meditation, and to really internalize and sort of ask the questions, do the exercises that Matthew presents, give yourself the space and the time to really see what comes up? I think it's going to be really eye-opening and enlightening for you. I know it was for me. And I think that this concept of you know, who am I versus who do I think I am, is again, it's really deep, it's really profound. And it helps us get to a place where we can be peaceful, and we can be calm, and we can really truly become happy, regardless of what's going on around us. So anyway, that's my schpeel we're gonna jump right into it. And I really think you're going to enjoy this one.
In today's episode we're carrying on from last week when we talked about clearing karma with hypnotherapy. And today is going to be a really special episode for you, we're actually going to be going through an exercise, Matthew is going to lead an exercise that's going to help you get to the bottom of maybe where some of your negative and positive karma is actually coming from. So I will set a disclaimer, you know, when you're listening to this episode today. And towards the end, once we get to the exercise, I want to make sure that you are able to focus and you're able to not have to worry about what's going on around you. So if you're driving, or if you're maybe at work and doing some other tasks. While listening to this podcast right now, I might recommend that you, I mean, you can certainly listen to it. But just be careful, don't go through the exercise while trying to do something else. Okay, so maybe listen to it once and then set some time aside later. So that you can come back to this episode. And really focus in and just give it your 100% attention. Because what you will find and some of the changes that are possible through this exercise are going to be profound. If you've never done this type of work before, you're going to be really pleasantly surprised. Just to recap, you know what we're talking about here today. It's really all about karma, right? What is karma? Why is it there? And how can you become free of it and get in line with what's called your Dharma, right? your actual flow and the things that you really are meant to do here in this life. And another interesting idea that we're going to talk about is this idea of, you know, does doing good deeds help free you from your bad karma? Like, can you overcome bad karma by trying to do good things? Hold this question in your mind as you listen today. Because if, if you don't already know the answer to that, then this is going to be really enlightening for you.
Today's show is all about karma. You know, what does karma mean? What is it actually? And why would it be beneficial to clear it? Is karma actually something that exists? And if it does, where does it exist? Or when does it exist? It seems to have something to do with this idea of time, right? If I do something today, then my karma is going to get me tomorrow. Well, is time even real? You know? Do we have any influence over karma? Can we change it? Is it possible that karma is actually internally created? Or is it just an external process, an external sort of law that's being imposed upon us, you know, this idea of judgment, right, I've done something wrong or bad. So therefore, I should be punished. And this is going to be my karma. That statement might hold the key to what karma is. And in today's episode, we're going to dive deep into this idea of karma and just, you know, talk about some of these questions and start looking at them from different angles. Today's episode is another conscious community class recording that Matthew gave. And it's really, really eye opening and empowering when you start to think of these different ways that karma might actually exist in the world and within us for that matter. So make sure you listen to the end, because I think that you're going to gain a lot of insight, and possibly the ability to change anything that you don't like about your life and any negative karma that you think you might be experiencing. So enjoy this one. And I'll catch you at the end of the show.
I'm really excited to introduce today's episode because I had the opportunity to interview Dani Fox, who's the chief operating officer of the Institute of interpersonal hypnotherapy. She's also a lead instructor, she happened to be my instructor, as well as the North Carolina location director. Dani is just an amazing woman, she has so much incredible experience, and has really seen and done so much in her life. And honestly, we are all honored to have her on the show. I really hope you enjoy this interview, I'm going to be asking her some questions revolving around the idea of happiness, you know, what is happiness? What does it take to be happy in life? And how can we start to change our perception of certain things that we see and deal with to actually become happier in just our daily experience? And so that's what this interview is kind of wrapped around. But we talked about a lot of different things. So I really just want you to kind of sit back, enjoy this one. It's a little bit longer, but a really, really fun interview. And again, you know, Dani, if you're listening, I just want to say thank you so much. Actually, at the time of this recording, I am now graduated, I am officially a certified clinical hypnotherapist, and thank you to you for all of your amazing training and leadership, and guidance through this program. It really has been one of the most rewarding things that I've ever done in my life. I really, really appreciate you, and thank you for coming on the show. For everyone listening. This interview was actually recorded about a month ago. So prior to my graduation, so a little bit back and forth in the timeline here, but I just wanted to share this one with you. I really hope you enjoy it. So sit back and enjoy the interview.
This is part two of our series on "Was Jesus a hypnotist?" And if you haven't caught the first part yet, I suggest you go back to the last episode and listen to that one first. Because today, we're going to catch up on the rest of Matthew's Conscious Community Class, and this is where he's teaching past graduates of our institute about different and really interesting topics. In this section of the class, Matthew is going to talk about the different beliefs that are required to be an effective hypnotherapist in today's world, and draw the parallels between what we're doing with this belief system that we have, and obviously the belief that Jesus must have had when he was performing his miracles back during his life. Matthew is going to talk about some different stories and sort of how Jesus would teach through parables and how that's similar to metaphor therapy that we do today. Just really, why all of this stuff works, and what's required in order to allow it to work. Then you're gonna want to listen till the end, because Matthew actually gives a recount of one of his personal sessions, that was really interesting, where there was this entity attached to his client. And well, I don't want to ruin the story, because it's really, really fascinating. So just make sure you listen to the end. And, and you'll catch this really cool story.
Today, we're gonna be talking about something that could be considered a little edgy, a little controversial, if you will. And that is the question was Jesus a hypnotist? Now, quick disclaimer, this episode is not about religion. And we certainly on the show are not interested in trying to press on anyone's particular belief system. We're not saying what's right and what's wrong, what did or what didn't happen. We're simply asking questions. And again, looking at things from a new perspective, a new angle. And so we want to draw some parallels between the supposed miracles that Jesus was performing during his lifetime. And what we're able to do today through hypnotism, and through hypnosis and creating altered states of reality within someone's mind. And so today's show is a previous recording of another conscious community class, where Matthew shares his insight and perspective on what he thinks was going on back then, in the time of Jesus, and what he thinks may be similar to what we're doing today with hypnosis. So he's going to talk about, you know, this idea of hypnotism and where it started, because back then, honestly, they didn't have a word called hypnosis. They didn't, you know, they weren't hypnotists, they definitely weren't practicing as hypnotists or hypnotherapists, but there may have been something called mesmerism. You know, he's going to talk about this guy Mesmer, and sort of this idea that he was playing around with, with, you know, transferring these different life forces between people and, and, you know, Matthew is also going to look into these different stories that were in the Bible talking about how people were in these different levels of sleep, and sleep states. He's also going to define, you know, what hypnotism actually is, and what a hypnotherapist is, and then just give his perspective, again, on whether or not Jesus was a hypnotist, and really, more importantly, what Jesus was doing when he was creating these miracles right when he was performing these miracles on people. And how is that similar? or How can that be compared to what we're able to do today. And so I really hope you enjoy this show, it's very fascinating information. Again, this is going to be part one of a two-part series, this class ran a little over an hour and a half. And I want to keep these episodes to under an hour. So I went ahead and cut this one down in half. This is part one, and you'll get Part Two next week.
Hey, everyone, welcome back to illuminated mind. This is your podcast for exploring some of the deeper ideas about what it means to be human in today's complex world. I'm your host, Corey Benschop. And I really appreciate you tuning in today. So I've personally been on this journey of spiritual development and discovery for the last couple of years. And something that's been popping up on my radar recently, is this book called A Course in Miracles. Maybe you're familiar with it, but if not it, from what I understand, it's basically the self study manual that includes 365 daily lessons that you can follow, that help you move into a way of being that just is more peaceful and fulfilling. It seems like it helps you go from this ego centric sort of fear based mindset into more of a vibration of love, and coming from a place of spirit. And as I've been going through my hypnotherapy training, and learning more about Matthew Brownstein and his teachings, I've heard him talk about this book called A Course in Miracles. Now, he's referenced it many times. And so I wanted to bring him on and ask him to explain to me and to us, what is a course in miracles? And you know, why should we be paying attention, I really am a firm believer that if something enters your life, once, you know, it could be happenstance or whatever, it could be chance, if it enters your life twice. Well, maybe that's a coincidence, but I really don't believe in coincidences. But the third time it comes knocking, you really need to start paying attention. And so of course, in miracles has now knocked on my door a number of times, and I think now is the time to give it the attention that it deserves. So in today's episode, we're gonna dive in deep into what A Course in Miracles is, where it came from, how it can help us move into this space of love and come from a place of spirit. And Matthew is going to give us his explanation. And he's going to tell us how he got introduced to it as well. So I really hope you enjoy this conversation. And at the end, I'll tell you how you can actually get access to this book, if you're interested in learning more. So enjoy. And I'll see you at the end.
Hey, everyone, welcome back to illuminated mind. This is your podcast for exploring some of the deeper ideas about what it means to be human in today's complex world. I'm your host, Corey Benschop. And I really appreciate you joining me for today's episode, which is part two of our series on self-sabotage and the subconscious mind. And this part of the class Matthew goes on to talk about the critical factor inside of our subconscious mind, which you can think of as sort of a line in the sand. This is where either a suggestion gets in or it doesn't and is at the root of why we sabotage our success. Even when we say we want something and we try to go for something, but we get in our own way. Matthew also covers some deeper concepts and hypnotherapy and talks about how long it can actually take to stop bad behaviors or habits and start a new Good one. So again, this is part two. And if you haven't heard part one, you're gonna want to start there. So check out the previous episode first, and then finish up with this one. Alright, so enjoy the rest of the class.
This episode is all about self-sabotage and the subconscious mind. Maybe this is something you've dealt with because I know that I've dealt with this many times in my personal life and professional life. It's this idea that we set goals for ourselves, and we create intentions for improving our life, yet we seem to get in our own way and sabotage our own success. Well, today, we're gonna listen in on one of Matthew Brownstein's previously recorded conscious community classes. And this is a series that he put on for the graduates of the Institute of interpersonal hypnotherapy, which is the school that is putting on this podcast for you. If you want to check out more about hypnotherapy and learn about the Institute, just head over to www.Instituteofhypnotherapy.com, but today's episode is all about self-sabotage the subconscious mind and why we get in our own way. Matthew is going to break down exactly why this happens. We're going to look at some questions like why do we have high goals and intentions, but then we do stuff that just literally is in direct opposition to what we say we want? How does low self-esteem keep us from moving outside of our comfort zone? What are some of the secondary gains from actually having these problems in our life? Self-sabotage happens in five major categories in our life at any given time: our spirituality, our mental and emotional health, our physical health, our career and finances, and even in our personal relationships. Matthew is going to cover all of those, and how you can break out of this cycle of getting in your own way. Now this class, again, was delivered to past graduates of the Institute, so it's being delivered in a way to allow our graduates to better help their clients. But this information is also very relevant for how you can help yourself. So make sure that you keep an ear open and use some of these techniques in your own life. We're going to be looking at the inner critical voice and this idea of "shoulding" on ourselves. "I should do better." "We should do this." "We should be more." This inner critical voice is very strong, and there's a reason for it. We're also going to look at how to know if your goals are actually right for you and harmonious for where you should be going in your life. Are you moving in the right direction? Well, there's a compass that you can use to know whether or not the goals that you're setting for yourself are harmonious for you.
Hey everyone. Thanks for tuning in and welcome to Illuminated Mind, a podcast that explores some of the deeper ideas about what it means to be human in today's complex world. I'm your host Corey Benschop, and I invite you to join me as I dive into some interesting topics from psychology, philosophy, spirituality, and hypnotherapy, and take a look at how we can learn to use our conscious and subconscious minds to better understand ourselves and the world around us. Why do we feel what we feel, and believe what we believe, and how do these thoughts shape our world? Can we change our reality if we don't like what we experience? What about manifestation, the law of attraction, and the idea of creating abundance in life? How do miracles happen in the world of healing and transformation? Well these are just some of the questions that I'm contemplating, and throughout this podcast journey, I suspect we'll start to find the answers together. So who am I? And why this podcast? Well again, I'm Corey Benschop, and I'm a student of hypnosis at the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy and actually at the time of this recording, I'll be graduating as a certified Clinical and Transpersonal Hypnotherapist in about 2 weeks which is really exciting for me. In partnership with the Institute's founder and lead instructor, Matthew Brownstein, who you'll come to meet and know throughout these episodes, we decided to create this podcast as a way to expand the reach of hypnosis and hypnotherapy to a broader audience, and to create an offering of insight and truth in a world that's becoming increasingly complex to navigate on a personal level. As the host, I'll review many different topics that have a broad application in life but I think you'll come to find that some of the things we cover will become deeply relatable in your personal experiences as well. These episodes will include a wide range of material, from my own personal stories and discoveries that I've made in my life, to previously recorded content, trainings and lectures that Matthew has given, and from time to time, I'll bring in different experts and professionals to share their knowledge too! Overall, I'm mainly excited to see where this podcast will go and grow, and I'm even more grateful that you are here with me as it all unfolds. So, as this is episode 1, I just wanted to give you some insight into what to expect from the show and lay some groundwork for what's to come. I'd like to ask that if you're excited about this, that you go ahead and subscribe to this podcast wherever you're listening from, and I would really appreciate it if you could leave a review for us on iTunes because it will help us get found by more listeners like you!
