Honey, who Hijacked the Kids? Is Nanotech in your blood, and everywhere else? Is it an interface with your devices? Are smart dust sensors all over, including within? What's that they're spraying above? Is this a final component to make us hackable animals? Are the devices you give your children changing them but not just by program influence? Is there a technological component that is altering their personality and sending information back and forth from their phones and the tech within them? Are the towers and their EMR frequency emissions also saturating our environment with manipulative power over how we think and treat one another? Parasitic tech is contaminating us all. To what extent is left to be determined.Connor Murphy is allegedly dead by drowning, and people [his so-called friends] who have no idea how to piece together a thought, and who themselves have no depth of character, are all chiming in to blame Connor's many odd personas and behaviors on Ayahuasca. That may have been the event, but it wasn't the cause. It was the experience derived from it, maybe. Remember you can't bronze a turd, and you can't level up in the spiritual caste system if you are a Hylic. You simply lack the essential component. Sand can't be water. It can be very troubling if you see too much, if you have even a short holiday out of the spell cast on your perception. Gnosis is something that bares some very unsettling realizations, as well as the self-actualization potential. The "remembering" of who you are. If you get sent the signal that you are an intruder and you don't belong in that realm of awareness, it may be detrimental. Not because you were mistaken, or hallucinating. But because you were more right than most everyone in the sense that you saw more truth and saw through more BS. The problem is when you have no actual escape route. During his PhD, he has investigated how practitioners of different movements in the nineteenth century tried to scientifically prove life after death exists. The outcome of this project is the book Afterlife Research (forthcoming), as well as several open-access articles. Beside this, he is also interested in playful approaches to religion and divination in the contemporary West. His newest project centers on spiritual tourism.This interview takes us into the fascinating world of Mesmerism—also known as animal magnetism—and its enduring influence on the boundaries between science, mysticism, and spiritual inquiry. Bastiaan gives a brief bio of Franz Anton Mesmer, who in the late 18th century proposed that an invisible fluid flowed through all living beings, capable of healing and revealing hidden truths. Though controversial and dismissed by many, Mesmer's ideas sparked a lineage of thought that continues to shape contemporary conversations about consciousness, healing, and the legitimacy of scientific inquiry.We discuss how Mesmerism blended science and mysticism, influenced public perception, and laid the groundwork for practices ranging from hypnotism and New Thought to modern-day energetic healing. Bastiaan's own research picks up this thread, tracing how the experimental impulse to make the invisible visible evolved into afterlife studies, somnambulism, and psychical research.From there, we dive into Bastiaan's dissertation, which examines the emergence of a “scientific culture” in afterlife research—one grappling with empirical inaccessibility, unreliable intermediaries, and skeptical resistance.
