Send me a Text Message!Listen, I understand for some of us, parts of the Bible are hard to believe. You wonder if it's true. Some of it's even harder to understand and we run into all sorts of different interpretations of all the rules and the theology. Rules and theology which some people fight about so much, you wonder if they are even on the same team. I understand. God doesn't tweet or txt. He doesn't do facebook posts. He's old school. He expounds and mystifies. Sometimes on purpose, I think, He's less than clear. He shares stories that create questions and some of them are hard to read and some of them are hard to answer. He's not afraid of poetry or doubt or deep dark emotions. But I'm telling you that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. And life comes from knowing God and when we know God we love His Word. So, open the Book with an open heart and see what He might do!

The Practice of Living With an Open Heart
Episode 133 — Why Jesus Speaks in Parables
There’s a challenge that comes with being known for what you do. When you move on you now have to figure out who you truly are. Deborah Santana spent more than three decades inside one of the most recognizable partnerships in American music as COO of the New Santana Band, co-architect of the Milagro Foundation, and the steady, contemplative presence behind a global touring life with her ex-husband, the legendary musician Carlos Santana. At an age when most people are quietly winding down, she did the opposite: she walked away from a 34-year marriage, dismantled the identity she had built around someone else's career, and started over. She earned a master's degree in her 60s, founded a new nonprofit (Do A Little), wrote a second memoir (Loving the Fire: Choosing Me, Finding Freedom), and became a trustee of major cultural institutions. But this is not a celebrity interview. It's an exploration of transitions and later-life reinvention. You’ll hear about her experience and the lessons she learned that may help you. She shares the foundational daily contemplative practice she built, the calendar block for herself disguised as “a meeting” she used to jump start her writing, and the people audit she did to illuminate who is toxic and who is the light in her life. Deborah describes how liberating it can be to be a beginner again, if you’re willing. I often say “You don't stop growing just because you retire.” But, it’s not just a saying and Deborah’s story is an case study. If you’re ready to let go of your past and discover who you truly are now, this conversation is for you. “When you have everything stripped away that you were known as, it is a wonderful opportunity to create exactly who you are.” — Deborah Santana You’ll walk away with: A vocabulary for the identity work that retirement requires. And not just for the “what's next” part, but also the words for the “who am I now” part. A useful framework (the Four C's) for organizing life after a major transition. A replicable practice for protecting time for the work of “becoming” even when the people around you don't quite yet understand what you’re doing. __________________________ Bio Deborah Santana is the author of Loving the Fire: Choosing Me, Finding Freedom, Space Between the Stars: My Journey to An Open Heart and the editor of the acclaimed anthology All the Women in My Family Sing. Her work has been featured by Vogue, Oprah, and NPR, among other national and literary outlets. She is the founder of the Do A Little Foundation, which supports women and girls in the areas of health, education, and happiness. Her work explores identity, social justice, spirituality, and the power of collective voice. She is mother to three artists: Salvador Santana, Stella Santana and Angelica Santana. She holds a Master of Arts in Philosophy and Religion with a Concentration in Women's Spirituality. She is a leadership donor of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture and a Lead Investor to the Courage Museum in San Francisco. _________________________ For More on Deborah Santana Loving the Fire: Choosing Me, Finding Freedom Website _________________________ Do You Know What You’ll Be Retiring To? Only the Lord can open the heart of a sinner to hear and comprehend the gospel. Lydia is a beautiful example of one such sinner who had an interest in "religion," but when she heard the gospel through Paul's preaching, her heart was opened and her life was made new.
In the sermon, Bishop Neil referred to the classic book Open Heart, Open Home: The Hospitable Way to Make Others Feel Welcome & Wanted by Karen Burton Mains. He highly recommends it and also Surprise the World by Michael Frost, especially the chapter on eating together with others. Bp. As we look at SHARING JESUS this week, Pastor Amira reminds us that sharing begins with posture, not pressure. It's about remaining sensitive to the Holy Spirit's guidance; in our conversations, in our prayers, in our hearts, and how that sensitivity shapes the way we share Jesus with others.Listen in as we're invited to examine our hearts, releasing fear, assumptions, and judgment, so we can love others with sincerity, humility, and grace as we point them to Christ.
This gentle meditation invites you to soften inward and expand your awareness with curiosity and compassion. Through mindful breathing and subtle reflection, you'll create space to release judgment, quiet mental chatter, and reconnect with a sense of openness. This practice supports emotional balance, clarity, and a deeper connection to yourself and the present moment. From John 19 to the mystics, the side wound reveals the open heart of God, the birth of the Church, and the place where we encounter Christ in our own wounds. What does it mean to “enter the wound”? How do figures like Thomas, Peter, and Mary Magdalene show us that transformation happens when we bring our doubt, failure, and grief to Jesus? And how does this lead us back out into the world, changed? This reflection dives into the mystical meaning of the side wound, contemplative prayer, and the rhythm of the Christian life: come close, stay, and go out.

Adulthood toughens us. Every time we’re lied to, let down, or taken advantage of, we build a thicker skin and vow, “Never again.” Over time, that can make us skeptical, and even cynical. But today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie reminds us that a hardened heart can’t fully connect with God. It’s like we’re turtles hiding in our shells, keeping everyone out. But good news is coming. Pastor Greg helps us come out of that shell and open our hearts to the Lord. — Become a Harvest Partner today and join us in knowing God and making Him known through media and large-scale evangelism, our mission of over 30 years. Do children have to grow up to worship God? Pastor Greg Laurie reminds us that the Bible actually says the opposite ?' adults must have childlike faith to truly know Him. In a world where it is easy to be cynical about the shady motives of some Christian leaders and preachers it is refreshing to see how openly Paul expressed his love for those he ministered to. He was not afraid of being vulnerable by opening his heart to them. He was not trying to manipulate through guilt and yet was not afraid of expressing how his sense of joy in ministry was bound up with how they were travelling in the faith. Here there is much to learn about how we relate to others with an open heart in the transparency of the gospel.
What if everything we've been taught about illness only tells half the story? In this episode, Darin dives into one of the most controversial debates in the history of modern medicine: germ theory versus terrain theory. While conventional medicine focuses on identifying pathogens and eliminating them, terrain theory asks a deeper question, why do some people get sick while others exposed to the same pathogen remain perfectly healthy? Tracing the history from Louis Pasteur and Antoine Béchamp to the economic forces that shaped the modern medical system, Darin explores how our internal biological environment, our terrain, may be the real determining factor in health and disease. From cellular voltage and mitochondrial function to microbiome diversity, inflammation, nutrition, toxins, and stress physiology, the science increasingly points toward one central truth: health is shaped by the environment inside the body. Most importantly, Darin breaks down the practical pillars of terrain optimization, simple but powerful daily choices that strengthen resilience, support immunity, and restore the body's natural balance. What You'll Learn The historical battle between germ theory and terrain theory Why exposure to pathogens does not automatically lead to disease The role of Louis Pasteur, Antoine Béchamp, and Claude Bernard in shaping modern medicine How the Flexner Report of 1910 reshaped medical education and marginalized holistic medicine Why modern healthcare often focuses on pathogens instead of the body's internal environment The importance of cellular voltage and mitochondrial health in disease prevention How the microbiome influences immunity, metabolism, and inflammation The surprising connection between vitamin D levels and immune resilience Why chronic inflammation is a central driver of modern diseases How stress, toxins, sleep, and nutrition shape the body's terrain The science behind grounding, sunlight, and circadian rhythm regulation Practical strategies for optimizing your internal terrain and strengthening resilience Chapters 00:00:00 – Welcome to the SuperLife podcast and the mission of building health sovereignty 00:00:33 – Sponsor: reducing plastic waste with Bite toothpaste tablets 00:02:47 – Introduction to today's topic: germ theory vs terrain theory 00:03:10 – Why Darin began exploring this controversial health debate years ago 00:03:54 – What if everything we've been taught about illness is only half the story? 00:04:35 – How our internal biological environment shapes disease susceptibility 00:05:10 – The importance of optimizing the body's internal terrain 00:06:00 – Looking back to the 1800s: the scientific battle that shaped modern medicine 00:06:17 – Louis Pasteur and the rise of germ theory 00:07:20 – The successes of germ theory: antibiotics, vaccines, and sterilization 00:08:01 – Antoine Béchamp and the foundation of terrain theory 00:08:45 – The concept of microbial polymorphism and environmental adaptation 00:09:40 – When microbes become pathogenic in weakened terrain 00:10:00 – Pasteur's alleged deathbed admission: "The microbe is nothing, the terrain is everything" 00:10:45 – Claude Bernard and the concept of the internal environment 00:11:00 – The Flexner Report and the restructuring of American medical education 00:11:45 – How holistic and integrative medical schools were shut down 00:12:30 – The rise of the pharmaceutical-centered medical model 00:13:00 – Why modern doctors often receive little training in nutrition 00:13:45 – The consequences of a pathogen-centered healthcare system 00:14:00 – How economic interests influenced the trajectory of medicine 00:14:20 – Sponsor: Manna Vitality mineral support and cellular optimization 00:16:11 – The science of terrain and how it shows up across multiple disciplines 00:16:47 – Bioelectricity and the role of cellular voltage in health 00:17:20 – The transmembrane potential and healthy cellular voltage levels 00:17:50 – Otto Warburg's discovery of low oxygen environments in cancer cells 00:18:30 – Dr. Jerry Tennant's research on voltage and chronic disease 00:19:00 – The microbiome revolution in modern science 00:19:30 – Why the body contains roughly 38 trillion microbial cells 00:20:00 – How gut bacteria influence immune response 00:20:30 – Research showing microbiome diversity affects viral susceptibility 00:21:00 – Why exposure to pathogens does not always result in illness 00:21:30 – The role of nutrition, sleep, and stress in immune resilience 00:21:55 – Vitamin D deficiency as a major predictor of disease severity 00:22:30 – Chronic inflammation as the root of modern disease 00:23:00 – Mitochondria: the cellular energy system 00:23:40 – How mitochondrial dysfunction contributes to chronic illness 00:24:00 – The connection between nutrient availability and mitochondrial health 00:24:30 – The pillars of terrain optimization 00:25:00 – Why minerals are foundational for cellular health 00:25:30 – Magnesium deficiency and inflammatory disease 00:26:00 – Building a mineral-rich diet for optimal physiology 00:26:20 – Invitation to the SuperLife Patreon community 00:27:55 – Supporting the microbiome through diet and lifestyle 00:28:20 – Why dietary diversity increases microbial resilience 00:29:00 – The importance of sunlight, grounding, and circadian rhythm 00:30:00 – Sleep and the brain's detoxification system 00:31:00 – Environmental toxins and the body's detox pathways 00:31:45 – Stress physiology and its destructive impact on the terrain 00:33:00 – Rebuilding resilience through lifestyle choices 00:34:00 – Final thoughts on reclaiming control over your health 00:35:17 – Closing message and end of episode Thank You to Our Sponsors Bite Toothpaste: Go to trybite.com/DARIN20 or use code DARIN20 for 20% off your first order. In a culture where age is, at best, ignored, how do we rebuild a cohort of genuine Elders fit for the rapid transitions of the 21st Century: those who can combine the wisdom of wide boundary perspectives with the humility that allows flexibility of thinking, feeling and being? This is one of the core questions of our time and this week's guest is working to find answers. Alain Gauthier is co-founder and coordinator of the Regenerative Elder Process at the Elders Action Network. With John Izzo, he is co-host of The Way Forward Regenerative Conversations podcast and over his long life, he has been an international consultant, facilitator, coach, researcher-educator, and author. His book Actualising Evolutionary Co-Leadership: To Evolve a Creative and Responsible Society was published in 2014 - and is only available on Kindle (sorry) - but it is nonetheless a fascinating and inspiring read. A graduate from HEC (Paris), with an MBA from Stanford University, Alain was once a senior consultant at McKinsey & Company, As you'll hear, a life-changing experience led him to co-found Core Leadership Development in Oakland, California and to focus his professional work on developing co-leadership, partnering and coaching capabilities. Now in his eighties and as an elder, he devotes his time to co-creating conditions for elders to explore how they can live a regenerative life and collaborate with younger generations in transforming education and community life. Over the last seven years, he has been an active member of the Elders Action Network (EAN), where he initially led a visionary planning process and now co-leads the Regenerative Elder Process (REP) – which, this April (2026) is offering for the seventh time an in-depth exploration called Embodying Regenerative Worldviews. He co-leads the REP Community and is a member of the Advisory Council of Elders Rising, EAN's educational arm. This was a rich, deep and heart-felt podcast. There's a paradox inside mindfulness practice: When we want to heal something, we move toward what hurts, not away from it. It's not easy to keep our hearts soft or open, and a mindful practice doesn't change the inherent risks in being a human in a world of other humans. This week, as part of his mini-course Opening Ourselves Up to Compassion, Vinny Ferraro shares a practice to meet our pain and uncertainty, to recognize our inherent connection, and to summon the courage to lower our defenses. Vinny Ferraro has been a practitioner of insight meditation (vipassanā) since the early 1990s. He is a co-Founder of the Dharma Punx and co-Guiding Teacher of Against the Stream Buddhist Meditation Society. He is also a nationally recognized leader in designing and implementing interventions for at-risk adolescents and is currently Senior Trainer for Mindful Schools. On Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, hosted by Yusuf, meditation teacher Stuart Perrin shares how inner calm isn't a finish line—it's a practice you return to, especially when life feels noisy and pressured. This episode is for anyone who feels mentally overloaded, emotionally guarded, or stuck in “more, more, more.” Stuart explains how building a steady inner foundation can support clarity, self-worth, and a more compassionate way of living. About the Guest: Stuart Perrin is a non-denominational meditation teacher who has practiced for decades and teaches donation-based Zoom classes seven times a week. He has written a dozen books, including a recently published title, and shares talks across Facebook and YouTube. Episode Chapters: 00:03:56 – Inner calm as a repeatable practice 00:06:53 – “Meditation is a craft,” not a religion 00:09:32 – Building foundation: focus below the navel (hara/dantian) 00:11:27 – Gratitude as a direct path to an open heart 00:11:49 – Breath as training for the heart center 00:14:27 – Success without attachment: money, pressure, and freedom 00:19:01 – How to begin: finding a teacher and real inner hunger Key Takeaways: Treat meditation like a skill: learn method, repetition, and consistency. Build inner stability first; openness is easier when you feel grounded. Use gratitude daily to soften defensiveness and reopen connection. Practice breathing into the heart center for steadiness under stress. Stay engaged in life's goals, but reduce attachment to outcomes. What is the most recognisable symbol in jewellery history? The heart. In this Valentine's special episode of Gem Pursuit, Matthew Weldon and Fenia Sigkoudi explore the enduring story of the heart motif — a symbol that has carried secret messages, sealed romantic promises, and expressed devotion for centuries. We begin in the ancient world, where the heart was believed to be the centre of the soul, and trace how medieval courtly love helped shape the heart into a romantic emblem. From early love tokens and poetic brooches to protective witch hearts and crowned double hearts, the symbol evolved into a powerful visual language of love, loyalty, and longing. The episode also explores the Victorian era's obsession with sentimental heart jewellery, from Queen Victoria's personal charm bracelets to mourning lockets containing hair and portraits. Moving into the 20th century, we look at wartime sweetheart lockets and Elsa Peretti's revolutionary Open Heart design, which transformed the motif into a modern design icon. Finally, we turn to some of history's most spectacular heart-shaped jewels, including Elizabeth Taylor's Taj Mahal diamond, the legendary Blue Heart Diamond, and the technically astonishing Graff Venus — alongside iconic heart jewels worn by figures from Wallis Simpson to Lady Gaga. From intimate love tokens to world-famous gemstones, the heart has remained jewellery's most timeless symbol — and it's not going anywhere any time soon. www.courtville.ie Get social with Courtville, follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok This podcast was produced for Courtville by Tape Deck
In this episode, we're joined by Andrew Genovese, dimensional breathwork guide, inner child + shadow work teacher, and a fierce advocate for inner sovereignty and soul reclamation — for a grounded, no-BS conversation about what spirituality actually is (and what it definitely isn't). Andrew shares his personal hero's journey…from years of nomadic travel and existential dread, to a full-blown awakening catalyzed by loss, collapse, and deep surrender. He walks us through the real mechanics of transformation: nervous system capacity, embodiment, and the willingness to face your own darkness instead of hiding behind slogans. We go straight at the modern “spiritual scene” — the robes, the persona, the Love & Light bypassing and why real awakening doesn't look like anything…except becoming radically, unapologetically yourself. If you've ever felt allergic to the performance of spirituality and hungry for something with substance, this episode is your compass.Time Stamps(00:00) Episode Teaser(00:37) Opening Conversation(01:13) Exclusive Membership Announcements(03:34) Andrew Genovese's Hero's Journey(09:10) His Defining Psychedelic Experience(15:21) Reflecting on Childhood and Family Dynamics(28:47) What Is Spiritual Awakening Really?(38:18) The Illusion of Perfection(45:36) Living with an Open Heart & Navigating Life's Challenges(01:00:19) The Role of Nervous System in Personal Growth(01:06:30) True Leadership and Authenticity(01:11:05) Understanding Personality and Birth Cards(01:13:33) The Concept of Downloading Codes(01:15:55) Questioning Spiritual Language and Authenticity(01:25:56) Dimensional Breath Work and Personal Growth(01:36:44) The Hero's Journey and Self-EsteemGuest Linkshttps://www.andrewgenovesehealing.com/ https://www.instagram.com/breathehealevolve/ Connect with UsJoin our membership Friends of the TruthRise Above The Herd Take the Real AF Test NowDiscover Your Truth Seeker ArchetypeWatch all our episodesConnect with us on TelegramFollow us on InstagramAccess all our links

John 9 : 1 - 38 1 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" 3 Jesus answered, "Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. 4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world." 6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. 7 And He said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing. 8 Therefore the neighbors and those who previously had seen that he was blind said, "Is not this he who sat and begged?" 9 Some said, "This is he." Others said, "He is like him." He said, "I am he." Glory be to God forever.

If you've ever tried to take a real break and found your body wouldn't let you, this story will feel uncomfortably familiar. I planned a long van trip from Sydney to Tasmania, tied up loose ends, and promised myself lighter work days. Then the ground shifted: my senior VA stepped away, $30k vanished in a crypto hit, and my once-reliable ads softened. What followed wasn't just logistical chaos; it was a front-row seat to my open heart center's favorite role The Prover driving me to validate my worth through output, numbers, and grit.I walk you through the messy middle: guilt for stepping back when business was strong, the awkward blend of bad weather and spotty reception, and the tension of onboarding new help from a campground. When loneliness spiked, I chose regulation over endurance and flew home early. Within 48 hours, hugs and real conversation did what dashboards couldn't. Returning to Tasmania with a friend, we went fully offline-hiking, kayaking, no signal and I watched the proving impulse surface on mountain trails instead of sales pages. It was humbling, clarifying, and oddly freeing. We dig into Human Design as a practical lens, not a label. An open heart (will) center often seeks safety by proving value, and awareness alone doesn't resolve it. I share simple ways to build a marketing rhythm that respects your nervous system: pre-scheduling core content, setting guardrails for ad tinkering, standardizing team onboarding, and using prompts that separate service from validation. The goal isn't constant alignment; it's enough regulation to choose visibility without self-betrayal.If sales feel scary or showing up feels like a threat response, you're not broken...you're protective. Press play to hear how I'm redesigning support, reframing worth, and laying the groundwork for a new series on the “safety roles” of each open center and how they block sales. If this resonates, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs it, and leave a quick revie, tell me where you feel the urge to prove and what helps you soften.----------------------------------Please come say hi!Join the Human Design for Marketing FB group, here where I go behind the episode scenes and answer your questionsFollow me on IGCheckout our YouTube channelDownload your Human Design chartDownload your custom Human Design for Marketing Reading (report) + Frieda

The prophets were challenging and our own response to those who challenge us prepares us for better or worse depending on how we practice responding.

Tight around our fears. Tight around all the ways we think life should unfold. PAUSE That grip, though invisible, can be felt in the way your body stiffens, in the way your mind races, in the way your heart feels protected, guarded, closed. PAUSE Take a breath in. In the wake of the assassination of Charlie Kirk, Luis invites Camille Leak and Gray Doolin into a raw conversation about the somatics of dehumanization. Together, they explore what happens in the body when we dislike someone so deeply that we strip away their humanity, and how to stay open-hearted even in disagreement. The team discusses how somatic awareness has helped them recognize that feelings like disappointment, disgust, or dislike don't have to lead to dehumanization. By staying embodied, they've learned to hold both truths at once — acknowledging discomfort while still seeing the inherent goodness in others. You can also get lifetime access to the free webinar edit of this recording on our Thinkific platform here: https://hln.thinkific.com/courses/radical-rehumanizingYou can read more about, and register for, the retreat at Blue Spirit Costa Rica here: https://www.holisticlifenavigation.com/blue-spirit----You can learn more on the website: https://www.holisticlifenavigation.com/ Learn more about the self-led course here: https://www.holisticlifenavigation.com/self-led-new Join the waitlist to pre-order Luis' book here: https://www.holisticlifenavigation.com/the-book You can follow Luis on Instagram @holistic.life.navigationQuestions?
