The Kamatz and the Patach: As We Get Closer to Redemption, Our Hearts Ache to Emerge from LockdownThis Women's Kedoshim class was presented on Tuesday, 8 Iyar, 5785, May 6, 2025, Parshas Achrei Mos-Kedoshim, at The Barn @ 84 Viola Rd. in Montebello, NY. The class explores the distinction between two identical words in Shmini and Kedoshim, "Ani," one with a Kamatz and one with a Patach. When we need to close our hearts and when we need to open it. When it comes to food and other pleasures and necessities, we must master the art of discipline and self-control. When it comes to relationships, we are capable of living with an open, confident heart.View Source Sheets: http://portal.theyeshiva.net/api/source-sheets/9679
In this conversation, we welcome fan favorite, Byron Borger, back to the podcast. Along with host Daniel Johnson, they discuss the importance of reading as an embodied experience, the significance of seasonal reading aligned with the liturgical calendar, and the recent resurgence of work and faith materials. He emphasizes the challenges college graduates face transitioning into the workforce and the importance of integrating faith into their work lives. The podcast also highlights various books that can aid in this transition and the necessity of community support for maintaining faith post-college. In this conversation, Byron discusses the importance of balancing vocation and rest, the beauty of nature as explored through literature, and the need for community engagement in environmental care. They highlight books that inspire readers to appreciate creation, engage in ecological restoration, and reflect on personal narratives through memoirs. The discussion emphasizes the interconnectedness of faith, nature, and personal growth, encouraging listeners to explore these themes in their own lives. We encourage you to purchase your books at Heartsandminds Bookstore. “Open Heart” Thanksgiving Movie Gathering with David Hoffmeister Thanksgiving was celebrated in Mexico last year with a beautiful movie, Family Man, that reminds us that it is impossible to know who we are as Christ or Spirit if we believe we are something else, like dream figures. The movie offers a glimpse at a different timeline called quantum timeline jumping. This process involves projecting a desired result or state of being that differs from your existing timeline, using advanced energy techniques to bring coherence to your desired outcome. The idea behind quantum jumping is that you are living in a multiverse of parallel universes, which are believed to have no connection to one another. However, these alternate universes are connected, and awareness of the new timeline merges with your current awareness, leaving the other timelines seemingly out of reach. Enjoy listening to David's quantum timeline jumping commentary and if you are interested in listening to the entire talk Here is the link: https://www.spreaker.com/episode/open-heart-thanksgiving-movie-gathering-with-david-hoffmeister-2024--63152956 To participate online in a Movie Gathering, join our online community: https://programs.the-christ.net/courses/membership-weekly-online-movie-gatherings Join our online community: https://programs.the-christ.net/products/communities/tribe-of-christ Who is David Hoffmeister?: https://davidhoffmeister.com/ If you are interested to know more about David Hoffmeister and Living Miracles events, here is more information: https://circle.livingmiraclescenter.org/events. On today's episode of Integrative Cancer Solutions Dr. Karlfeldt interviews Dr. Isaac Eliaz, a respected mentor in integrative oncology who combines Western and Eastern medicine approaches. Dr. Eliaz shares his journey beginning with martial arts and meditation in Korea, followed by extensive training in Chinese medicine with a focus on cancer, and profound meditation experiences in the Himalayas. Throughout the conversation, he emphasizes the concept of impermanence as fundamental to understanding cancer and healing. Dr. Eliaz introduces his theory of the "survival paradox," explaining how cancer cells lose their ability to recognize impermanence and become independent from normal cellular communication. Dr. Eliaz discusses how the mind's fight-or-flight response can contribute to cancer development, and how toxins, traumas, and genetic factors play roles in cancer formation. His research on galectin-3 and its role in sepsis treatment provides insights into potential cancer treatments. The conversation centers significantly on what Dr. Eliaz calls "open heart medicine" - a heart-centered approach to healing cancer. He explains how the heart's boundless love and compassion can transform cancer cells, contrasting this with the mind's tendency to create permanence which can contribute to disease. Dr. Eliaz shares personal experiences and patient success stories that demonstrate the effectiveness of integrating mind-heart approaches in cancer treatment. Dr. Eliaz concludes by emphasizing the transformative power of open heart medicine in cancer treatment. He encourages listeners to explore integrative approaches that combine both mind and heart in the healing journey, highlighting how compassion and letting go of survival mode can create space for true healing to occur.Dr. Isaac Elias combines Eastern and Western medical approaches to cancer treatment, drawing from his extensive training in Chinese medicine and deep meditation experiences in the Himalayas.Cancer cells lose their ability to recognize impermanence, becoming independent from normal cellular communication and failing to respond to their environment. The "survival paradox" theory suggests that the mind's fight-or-flight response can contribute to cancer development, requiring a shift to a more relaxed, parasympathetic state for healing.Dr. Elias introduces "open heart medicine" as a transformative approach where the heart's boundless love and compassion can help restore communication with cancer cells and promote healing.Practical healing approaches include open heart meditation techniques that help patients move beyond survival mode into a more spacious, heart-centered state of being.----Grab my book A Better Way to Treat Cancer: A Comprehensive Guide to Understanding, Preventing and Most Effectively Treating Our Biggest Health Threat - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CM1KKD9X?ref_=pe_3052080_397514860 Unleashing 10X Power: A Revolutionary Approach to Conquering Cancerhttps://store.thekarlfeldtcenter.com/products/unleashing-10x-power-Price: $24.99-100% Off Discount Code: CANCERPODCAST1Healing Within: Unraveling the Emotional Roots of Cancerhttps://store.thekarlfeldtcenter.com/products/healing-within-Price: $24.99-100% Off Discount Code: CANCERPODCAST2----Integrative Cancer Solutions was created to instill hope and empowerment. APPLICATION FOR TODAY 1. Walk with Jesus in Your Confusion and Disappointment What It Meant Then: These two disciples are leaving Jerusalem—the place of promise and resurrection! In Jewish thought, walking away from Jerusalem is like walking away from God's presence and redemptive purposes (cf. Psalm 122:3–4). Yet Jesus pursues them even in their disillusionment. What It Means Now: Many people walk away from faith, community, or calling after spiritual disappointment or trauma. But like with the Emmaus disciples, Jesus walks with us in our confusion, even when we don't recognize Him. Jesus never waits for us to “have it all together” before He draws near. 2. Listen to the Scriptures with an Open Heart and a Messianic Lens What It Meant Then: Jesus doesn't just perform miracles—He roots understanding in Scripture. He re-reads the Hebrew Bible with Himself at the center: Messiah as Suffering Servant (Isaiah 53), the rejected cornerstone (Psalm 118), the pierced one (Zechariah 12:10). First-century Jews saw the Messiah as a conquering king; Jesus reinterprets Scripture to show He must first suffer before glory (cf. Luke 24:26). What It Means Now: Many today treat the Bible as a moral guide or historical text rather than the living, Christ-centered Word. The key to understanding Scripture is not academic skill but a heart open to Jesus as its center (cf. John 5:39–40). Our own stories can only be rightly understood in light of His story. 3. Welcome Jesus to the Table—He Reveals Himself in Community and Covenant What It Meant Then: Meals in Jewish culture were deeply symbolic—not just about food, but covenant, belonging, and identity. Jesus' four-fold action (take, bless, break, give) mirrors the Last Supper (Luke 22:19) and echoes covenant meals like Abraham's in Genesis 18. Their eyes are opened in the breaking of bread, a shared moment of intimacy and recognition. What It Means Now: Jesus often reveals Himself in the ordinary made sacred—like a shared meal, communion, or small group conversation. Worship isn't limited to a temple or stage—it happens around kitchen tables, coffee cups, and communion elements. Many miss Jesus because they look only for mountaintop moments, not everyday intimacy. 4. Let Your Encounter with Jesus Fuel Your Mission What It Meant Then: The journey to Emmaus was 7 miles. After encountering Jesus, they ran back the same night—risky and urgent. Their encounter with the risen Christ turned grief into mission. In Jewish culture, testimony matters. Sharing what you've seen is a way of honoring truth (cf. Deut. 19:15). What It Means Now: When people encounter the risen Jesus, they can't help telling others. Evangelism is not a script—it's a natural overflow of love and transformation. Spiritual fire (v.32 – “Were not our hearts burning...?”) results in kingdom urgency.
Hello Beauties! Happy Friday! I decided to do a little mini series of solo episodes as a follow up to last week's episode of The Never Ending Story and releasing fear. To provide an offering for how to begin awakening our loving, trusting selves. And it starts with the heart. Inspired by the wonderful book by Dana Quade, Doing The Thing: How Finding Your Shine Will Brighten Our World I share what she refers to as the 4 chambers of the heart and will be covering each chamber in this mini series. On this episode I talk about the first chamber of the heart which allows us to live from a place of love, The Open Heart. I share the importance of having an open heart rather than a heart closed by fear. An Open heart allows you to stay close to all that nurtures and supports your spirit NO MATTER WHAT DISSAPOINTMENTS COME. To expect good things and live from a place of trust and faith as we move through life.Doing The Thing: How Finding Your Shine Will Brighten Our World, By Dana Quade, https://www.amazon.com/Doing-Thing-Dana-Quade/dp/0692001689Donations To Women Waken To Support The Show Are Greatly Appreciated
"I grabbed the door handle, and it felt like somebody just cut up my chest with a dull butter knife. And 15 seconds later I was lying face down on the kitchen floor dead from cardiac tamponade at that point in time."Hey Heart Buddies. Whew. Today's episode with Jon Toivonen whose heart story literally stopped—and restarted—multiple times is one to help you take stock of your own life. Jon recounts his first shocking symptoms, the surreal “butter knife” sensation of an aortic dissection, and how fate, luck, and love shaped his survival. While Jon's physical heart has been patched together, the emotional journey is far from straightforward. Jon shares what comes after the surgeries: the mental battles, the power of community, and why an electric recliner might just be life changing. He also opens up about navigating the aftermath—ICU hallucinations, family impact, and the ever-present possibility of another health crisis. You can find Jon here. As a 3/5 Emotional Manifestor with a defined Root Center, an Undefined G Center, and a completely Open Heart, my journey through life is anything but linear. In this episode, I explore how my deep emotional waves, trial-and-reflect process, and powerful drive to initiate all intertwine with my Incarnation Cross of Eden—the quest to find and create my own version of paradise. But with a Root Center that pulses with pressure and a G Center that constantly shifts direction, how do I know when it's the right time to act? How do I differentiate between true clarity and the rush to prove myself or "figure it all out"? I dive into the tension between your Root's push for action and my Emotional Authority's need for patience, uncovering how to recognize when I'm moving from alignment versus external pressure. I explore how my Undefined G Center allows me to evolve fluidly, why my Open Heart means I have nothing to prove, and how embracing my natural trial-and-reflect process leads me to the most aligned path—without forcing the answers. If you've ever felt the tension between wanting to move fast and needing to wait for clarity, this episode will help you navigate that dynamic with more trust, ease, and self-honoring awareness. Tune in as I dive deep into what it truly means to trust your timing, initiate from alignment, and create your own version of enoughness—on your terms, at your pace, loving all your parts along the way. BIO: Akil Taher is a practicing physician living in Atlanta, GA. At 76 years young, he is a septuagenarian athlete, an eternal optimist, explorer, and adventurer, who in 2010, at the age of sixty-one, dramatically altered the conventional script adopted by most bypass surgery patients by undertaking a mountaineering trek to Mount Kailash in Tibet. Defying expectations with this accomplishment only a year after open-heart surgery, Dr. Akil then stretched to run his first full marathon in October 2011, the Chicago Marathon; and in September 2012, he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Dr. Taher expanded the canvas of his age-defying adventures by pursuing physically challenging activities on land, sea, and air, including a century bike ride (a 100-mile cycling event), triathlon, white water rafting, hang gliding, and skydiving and bungee jumping. Over the last decade, he has overcome acute and chronic medical ailments by transforming his mind, body, and spirit through the adoption of a plant-based diet, regular exercise, the practice of yoga and meditation, and developing a positive and purpose-driven mindset. Dr. Akil authored his first book in 2021, Open Heart, as a chronicle of this transformational journey and his exploits since his heart surgery. Today, he shares his story, wisdom, and medical knowledge far and wide, to spread the message and educate thousands about living a heart-healthy lifestyle and using food as medicine. OPEN HEART: The Transformational Journey of a Doctor Who, After Bypass Surgery at 61, Ran Marathons and Climbed Mountains is available in Softcover, Kindle, and Audible at: https://amzn.to/3sy299g All proceeds from book sales go to charity.
Nothing takes the place of a sold-out relationship with the Lord. I sit down with Mike Schmidt (Super Food Super Human) who transformed his life during the pandemic by healing his body and acne through nutrition. As an entrepreneur now teaching about health and wellness, he shares how he combined inner work with nutrition to create a balanced and healthy life. He also dives into how embracing practices often seen as feminine, such as breathwork, meditation, and Joe Dispenza's heart-opening meditations, helped him become a more emotionally open and authentic man. Whether you're on a healing journey or simply looking for ways to improve your mindset and health, this episode will inspire you to live in alignment with your highest self.

Adulthood toughens us. Every time we’re lied to, let down, or taken advantage of, we build a thicker skin and vow, “Never again.” Over time, that can make us skeptical, and even cynical. But today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie reminds us that a hardened heart can’t fully connect with God. It’s like we’re turtles hiding in our shells, keeping everyone out. But good news is coming. Pastor Greg helps us come out of that shell and open our hearts to the Lord. Do children have to grow up to worship God? Pastor Greg Laurie reminds us that the Bible actually says the opposite - adults must have childlike faith to truly know Him. Friday on A NEW BEGINNING, we’ll discover how to open our hearts to the Lord with the same trust and sincerity a child has toward a loving parent.Support the show: https://harvest.org/resources/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Joy is more than a fleeting emotion—it's a state of being, a choice we make daily. In a world that often feels heavy, choosing joy and lightness is an act of courage. It's not about avoiding challenges but about embracing life with playfulness, presence, and an open heart. 5 Simple Ways to Invite More Joy Into Your Life: Play More – Joy thrives in movement, laughter, and spontaneity. Dance in your kitchen, sing in the car, crack a joke, or try something new just for fun. Let Go of the Weight – We often carry unnecessary stress, expectations, and old stories that dim our joy. What would happen if you let them go? What if life could be easier? Breathe, release, and create space for lightness. Move Your Body – Practicing yoga, stretching, or simply moving with intention shifts energy and brings a sense of renewal. Physical movement creates mental and emotional clarity, helping you feel more open, expansive, and alive. Step Outside – Nature is one of the most powerful ways to reconnect with joy. Get outdoors, breathe fresh air, take a walk, feel the sun on your face. Even a few minutes in nature can elevate your mood and shift your perspective. Be Present – Joy lives in the now. Slow down. Take in the moment. Feel the rhythm of your breath, the sound of laughter, the beauty in ordinary things. The more present you are, the more joy expands. Joy isn't something we wait for—it's something we create. How will you invite more joy into your day today?

Happy valentines day, magick woman! We have a heart centered episode for you!
We're reminded of the importance of the heart during various times of the year, spring romances, august-Leo passion, warm fires, and gatherings in the fall and winter. We are reminded of our hearts. We are pushed to open and acknowledge our hearts throughout the year. Our compass needs to change with the changes in our lives and environment. Sometimes, our North- changes, which would make sense as our direction changes. Sometimes, that north change and redirection is from a life event, a career change, an addition to the family, or a death. Our mental processes can shift our hearts. Learning or discovering things about ourselves or others will change our mental filter and create a heart change. Everything is connected. When we open our hearts, we expect this magic pixie dust to come sprinkling upon us, and all will be right in the world. For LOVE solves ALL problems, right?Humanity is going through vast adjustments of the heart right now. Maintaining a foundation of love, not getting distracted, and maintaining optimism for the future is hard. The universe shows us where our compass is off, what direction we need to correct, and if we are brave enough to make those adjustments. Change our mental processes and beliefs to align with what is right for humanity. The healing of our wounds is getting confused with reinforcement of those wounds rather than change and acting with love, not fear, control, or revenge. 1 Peter 4:8-9 calls us to love deeply and show hospitality without complaining, reminding us that an open heart reflects God's love. True love isn't just words—it's shown through forgiveness, kindness, and a willingness to serve others. An open heart welcomes people in, extends grace, and seeks to bless rather than judge. This message will challenge us to let God's love flow through us, breaking down barriers and creating a spirit of generosity, compassion, and genuine connection with those around us.
I've been thinking a lot about how hard it can be to trust. Trusting another person, a situation, an opportunity, a new romantic partner, a friend. You get the idea. I've felt let down, disappointed, and devastated many times when someone or something I'd decided to believe turned out to be full of crap. So what are we supposed to do about that? How do we carry on having faith in others when it's so common to get burnt by someone you trust? On this week's solo episode, I share a few recent rough personal experiences of having my trust betrayed or broken, how I moved through it, and what I learned from it. I've come to decide that despite the fact that it's nearly impossible to have confidence that all people will be honest and truthful with you, it's still worth trusting. The cost of losing faith that others can be trustworthy results in greater expansion of fear, lying, and separation. That's not what I wish to contribute to, so I've decided to air on the side of trusting, even if I get burned. Song: An Open Heart/Gonna Let Life Move Me Music by: Scott Grace Notes: Learning songs in an oral tradition can be a little like playing telephone, as they take on a life of their own, responding to the people singing them, growing, evolving... I learned "Gonna Let Life Move Me" in a song circle, and loved it. Eventually, I wanted to share it with my Pocket Song singers. So I tried to find out who had written it, so I could ask their permission/blessing and send some financial exchange their way.... and it took a quite a bit of searching before I turned up Scott Grace (Kalechstein)'s original song. This one had shifted quite a bit, so I got in touch with Scott directly to ask how he felt about the changes... I quote his generous answer directly in the episode. Enjoy two songs this week, and see which one lands for you! Songwriter Info: WARNING: Scott Grace, who has been described as a cross between John Denver, Robin Williams and Dr. Seuss, is wanted by the authorities for creating the peace, as well as defying the law of gravity with levity. Contact with Scott is likely to be hazardous to your misery, as he has provoked outbreaks of joy in four out of five laboratory humans. It is alleged that Scott's work has so threatened to cut into the sales of anti-depressants that pharmaceutical companies have offered him millions to retire. Scott gives keynotes using a stolen identity, a.k.a. the Spiritual Dr. Seuss. His feel-good viruses on YouTube have infected over 2.5 million people with just four of his Seussian videos. Scott has been known to practice life coaching without a license, eluding the police by working over the phone, Zoom, or FaceTime. He fancies himself an intuitive, and smuggles wisdom and guidance over the border from beings he calls spirit guides, who are also not licensed, and who have allegedly not filed a tax return in several lifetimes. As a front, Scott does do various legal, above the board activities. He has written four books, his latest being Mindful Masculinity. Scott also has recorded nine CD's (remember CD's?) of his original music. He presents as an inspirational guest speaker and singer at churches, non-profits, schools, and corporate events. As an occasional stand-up comedian in the Bay Area, he has shared the stage with Dana Carvey and Robin Williams. But don't be fooled. His rampage of Song Portraits, custom-made personalized song-gifts that honor people for their birthdays, anniversaries, or for no reason at all, have been killing people softly with their song since 1987. Authorities would very much like your help in apprehending Scott. Try catching him on the web at https://www.scottsongs.com, or on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/user/skalechstein Sharing Info: The song is free to share in oral tradition groups, but please contact Scott for recording and/or performing permission. In this episode, Dr. Stanton Hom welcomes transformational coach and shadow integration facilitator, Xavier Dagba. The conversation explores the significance of self-censorship and the barriers to freedom, which Xavier metaphorically describes as four dragons: the fear of humiliation, alienation, loss, and persecution. Xavier shares insights on overcoming these fears, emphasizing the need for self-obedience to one's soul rather than yielding to external pressures. The discussion also dives into the journey of spiritual transformation, the importance of addressing one's shadow self, and the forthcoming release of Xavier's book, 'Scars of Gold,' which offers a framework for healing, integration, and self-liberation through shadow work. The episode is a profound exploration of how to face internal and external challenges with an open heart and the importance of maintaining an authentic connection to one's true self. In this week's episode, we continue with “Week Three” in our 4 part Advent study of Heather's new book Encountering Emmanuel. We meditate on the vulnerability of Jesus as a baby and how He comes as one who is little so we can know that we are loved in our littleness. We also reflect on what it looks like to have hope, how to love with an open heart, and the deeper meaning of incense. Jesus' heart is an open place of refuge where we find the comfort and relief we so desperately need this Advent season. Their ministry exists to aid Catholics in pursuing lives in full harmony with Church teaching. By learning a fertility awareness method, Catholic women can be more in tune with their hormones, understand their fertility patterns, and plan their family in accordance with Church teaching. It is estimated that only 20% of Catholics have ever attempted a NFP method. CWCNFP's ministry exists to change that statistic. They believe all Catholic women and couples should learn a fertility awareness method, no matter their vocation or state in life. With online classes, they work with your busy schedule and offer classes in both Spanish and English. Many NFP courses can cost up to $300, but CWCNFP's classes are ALWAYS free. They specifically teach the Billings Ovulation Method ®, which is very similar to the Creighton Method. However, they know that the Billings Method might not be for everyone, so if a client would like to learn a different NFP method they have a special partnership with MyCatholicDoctor that allows them to learn any method of their choosing as long as they have qualifying insurance. However, God teaches us in Philippians not to worry about anything but to pray and share our petitions with Him with gratitude. - Emma Danzey SUBSCRIBE to our sister podcasts: The Crosswalk Devotional: https://www.lifeaudio.com/crosswalk-devotionalYour Daily Bible Verse: https://www.lifeaudio.com/your-daily-bible-verse Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us.
