On this episode of the Build and Serve Podcast, Andrew Ammons talks about leadership and personal growth. Outstanding leadership requires talking about the things you don't really want to talk about. This kind of leadership is important in sales but also in leading a family. If you're going to do anything for the people around you, you have to develop yourself.
If you could only see yourself the way other people see you, you could change the outcome of your life. The problem with our mind is that it's a perfect record of everything we've thought good and bad. Your brain is a 3 million year old device made to protect you, so imagine yourself as God envisions you. You have the choice to believe or see yourself as the people that love you the most, and as soon as you see yourself in that way, you can act. When you get results from those actions, you start to have a self reinforcing belief that you are that person.
Making permanent decisions based on temporary pain is a trick, a delusion, and a distraction from the enemy. If you make decisions based on temporary pain, they create permanent pain. One of the main separators between people who have success and those that don't is their ability to stay the course. Know that pain is temporary. Even good is temporary. So take the time to acknowledge and appreciate it all, look forward to what's coming, but keep making decisions! About five years down the road, what's going to matter? What's going to make an impact? One year, two years, three years?
Your brain is recording things all the time and that builds the proof in your life that breeds your deepest beliefs and fuels your faith and energy. To reach the next level, you need that proof! This week, Andrew Ammons encourages you not to be afraid of taking more action. If you keep talking about sh*t that you want and not doing anything about it, it just may be the most silent killer of progress in your life. Let's do the work! Build & Serve!

Tune in this week to hear Andrew discuss the idea of personal development and changing the way you see the world. Everything in life is neutral until we assign it meaning. That meaning, or our interpretation, then affects our emotions. Those emotions can become addicting, so there are two options... Get over the emotion or change the language around it. The mind is always looking for shortcuts so be sure to challenge what things mean.
Sometimes perspective is all we need to change, but how do we make that change? Tune in this week as Andrew shares his experience with asking himself better quality questions to get better quality answers that in turn, equal better decisions and better results. We will be faced with challenges in any area of our lives where we may not see a way out. In reality, our problems really aren't much different or more difficult than our peers and mentors. Spend more time in silence, preparing, and detaching yourself from the situations you're in. 2 choices are not a decision, but a dilemma. You need more than 2 choices to make a decision, so stress-test your answers. Andrew challenges us to evaluate what type of questions we are asking in times of trial. Better quality questions could create so much more opportunity. Often, we challenge ourselves to think outside the box, but guess what... The box doesn't exist!
Without fear, there cannot be courage. The narrative that without experiencing one extreme, like the sadness we experience after a breakup, we would be also be unable to appreciate the other end of the spectrum, the happiness we experienced during said relationship. If you suffer or have ever suffered from what is known as Imposter Syndrome, you'll know that it is no small matter. Want to know how he did it? Come find out!
