The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - went overtime to produce a post-game podcast, but this one was so worth it. That's because Washington outscored Arizona 38-10 en route to a convincing 51-27 victory over the Wildcats at Arizona Stadium Saturday night. It looked like it was going to be a big game for the Huskies from the start, as they were able to get a couple of special teams plays via punt block and muff recovered by UW defensive back Kyler Gordon, but they only were able to parlay those Arizona miscues into six points. It looked like it would be even tougher sledding for the Dawgs heading into the half, as Arizona would score 17 second-quarter points to take a 17-13 lead to intermission. But Washington, who hadn't had a comeback win from halftime since 2015 at USC, roared back with some big-time plays on offense from little-used players like Puka Nacua and Jordan Chin, mixed in with some solid running from Sean McGrew and Salvon Ahmed. And defensively, what a show! Death Row came to the desert with their bags packed, ready to do damage. They forced Khalil Tate off his spot all night with myriad different pressures, causing Tate to throw the ball away a lot. Add to it some special work from the special teams (the only blight a muffed punt by Aaron Fuller), and it was a complete performance, especially the final 30 minutes. But the UW coaches will have plenty on tape they can show the team, like missed tackles, red zone execution, etc... that will have them laser-focused for next week's task, taking down the Oregon Ducks. It's USC week, and the Washington Huskies know it - especially those that played in the last game between the two teams in Seattle. It was 2016, UW was ranked #4, ESPN Game Day was in town, and USC spoiled the party. Obviously everything has pretty much changed since that time. Washington has continued to flirt with the college football playoff but hasn't quite reached the summit. USC, on the other hand, has really changed a lot. Their offense has totally changed. New offensive coordinator Graham Harrell brought the Air Raid system with him. He played and coached under Mike Leach, so are the Huskies going to be seeing WSU South? Probably not. There's enough wrinkles to keep Death Row guessing a little bit, but there's enough similarities between how they run the Air Raid in Los Angeles compared to Pullman to give UW a great sense of what they'll be up against Saturday at 12:30 pm. Washington under Chris Petersen is going to keep an even keel as much as possible. They are going to practice the same for Eastern Washington as they would for USC. But for the players, especially the twenty-plus players that call the greater Los Angeles and San Diego areas home, this game means just a little bit more than the others. This is the mighty Men of Troy, the program they all watched as kids. The Dawgman guys - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Jack McCauley - talked to a bunch of Washington players Tuesday about playing USC, recapping their emphatic win at BYU, and also the kind of atmosphere they're expecting on Saturday. Fall quarter starts up Wednesday, so this was the media's chance to talk to the players before the game. For players like Aaron Fuller, Andre Baccellia, Benning Potoa'e and Myles Bryant who played in that 2016 loss to USC, they remember full well the 'Black Out', the Husky Stadium crowd at night...all of it. And they want even more of that kind of energy and enthusiasm this weekend. A lot of people believe the Pac-12 is only as healthy as the USC Trojans are. Chris Petersen isn't necessarily one of those people. He was asked by the media Monday if the Pac-12 is a better conference if USC is better, and he flatly stated he doesn't want USC to be better. Context is important. He's not wishing ill-will on the Trojans. He doesn't want USC to suffer. He's only worried about the Washington Huskies, and if that means Washington can benefit if USC is down, he'll take it. He can't control what happens in Los Angeles, only his little plot of land at Montlake. And when it comes to that little space, he knows the Huskies can take advantage when the Trojans aren't. He also recapped UW's impressive 45-19 win at BYU on Saturday, including some of the talking points surrounding the fake field goal, Aaron Fuller's punt return for a touchdown, Joe Tryon's ejection for targeting, and more. The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - rehash the good, bad, and ugly from Washington's 45-19 win at BYU Saturday afternoon, and as the scoreline suggests, it was almost all good. Yes, there was the fake field goal gaffe and Joe Tryon getting ejected for a questionable targeting call, but for the most part, it was a Purple and Gold block party in Provo. It started out strong, with the Huskies scoring 21 first-quarter points, and then they reversed their third-quarter curse by scoring 21 more that period. That was all they needed. The news to start the game wasn't as good as the final result. Junior running back Salvon Ahmed suffered a 'lower leg' injury, per Chris Petersen, so he didn't make the trip. But Sean McGrew and Richard Newton filled in admirably, combining for 190 yards on 34 carries. And Newton did his best Myles Gaskin imitation on the first drive, staying inbounds and catching a 17-yard Jacob Eason pass for six. In all, Eason had about as efficient a game as you could have as a quarterback, going 24-28 for 280 yards and three touchdowns. And the senior receivers were the happy recipients, as Aaron Fuller and Andre Baccellia combined for 12 catches for 163 yards and two touchdowns. Fuller added an 88-yard punt return for a touchdown in the second half. Defensively, it was Brandon Wellington's 69-yard fumble return for six at the end of the first quarter that felt like a real dagger in the heart of the home team. Learn more about your ad choices. The Huskies got back on the winning track on Saturday as they came out focused and ready to go in their 52-20 blowout win over Hawaii. The win gets Washington to 2-1 on the season, but more importantly, it seemed to be a gut-check for the team after their frustrating loss to Cal last weekend. On Saturday, Mother Nature sent wind but very little rain, at least during the game, and gave Husky fans the first taste of fall even though there are still seven days remaining before we official welcome in fall. The Husky offense put on a show early in the first half, jumping out to a 21-0 just under nine minutes into the game and Jacob Eason was a big reason why as he went 8 of 10 for 122 yards with two touchdowns -- one to tight end Hunter Bryant and one to freshman wideout Puka Nacua. He followed that up with his third and final touchdown of the day, a 37-yard strike to wideout Aaron Fuller who was well-covered, but still came up with the touchdown reception. On the defensive side of the ball, Myles Bryant was the star as he grabbed the first two interceptions of the season in the first half and he also contributed the only sack on the day as well as four tackles from his safety spot. The Husky coaches also got plenty of reps for some of the younger players including Richard Newton, a redshirt freshman tailback, who has seen his role grow the past couple of weeks. Newton had eight carries, three of which went for touchdowns, as the Huskies used his physicality inside the redzone to punch the ball across the line. The guys from Dawgman -- Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, Jack McCauley, and Scott Eklund -- all sat down after the game and talked about this big win, gave some of their thoughts on what they saw and looked forward to next week's game at BYU in the post-game podcast... After last week's frustrating loss to Cal, the Huskies are at a bit of a crossroads as they head into their game later today against Hawaii. One of the biggest concerns to come out of 20-19 loss to Cal at Husky Stadium last week is where their receiving corps' confidence level lies. Andre Baccellia, Aaron Fuller and Chico McClatcher, all seniors, had multiple drops and missed opportunities and during the week we spoke with McClatcher and Baccellia, each of whom just gave the company line of needing to catch the ball when it hits them in the hands. That may be of little solace to Husky fans who want to see how some of the younger receivers, specifically Puka Nacua and Austin Osborne, and what they can do in the offense. In addition to the receiver group, there's also some concern about the defense and whether the group that is out on the field can be better than previous iterations. A big part of what has made the Husky defense so successful since the arrival of Chris Petersen in 2014 has been its ability to get turnovers, but two games into the 2019 season, Washington has none and you know that has to be a focus for the coaches on that side of the ball. Also, which young defensive players deserve more playing time and which could use a rest? Cameron Williams impressed during the spring and in fall camp, but so far the returns on his play have been mixed. Could someone like Brandon McKinney come in and see more playing time or is there a chance another freshman, Asa Turner, could see more reps? Another player who many think should see an increase in playing time is outside linebacker Laiatu Latu and, if he's healthy, expect him to get on the field a lot more. All those subjects and a few more were discussed by Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters and Scott Eklund as they get your ready for kickoff against the Rainbow Warriors later today... The Washington Husky offense struggled last week in their 20-19 loss to Cal and the coaching staff and players on that side of the ball and trying to find answers. On Wednesday, several of the offensive players and coaches met with the media and to a man, they all said they just have to play better. Junior Adams' crew had several drops and that is something that they are focusing on. Will we see more from the younger wideouts on the roster? While Adams wants to see more from them in games, he also said he knows they need to get it done during the week and show they are ready to handle a bigger workload. Adams likes what Austin Osborne and Puka Nacua have to offer with their big frames and explosiveness and he said he expects them to play more as the season moves along, but he also said he had confidence in Aaron Fuller, Chico McClatcher and Andre Baccellia as well. Bush Hamdan told the media last week he'd been watching the 2018 Cal game on a daily basis trying to understand where they went wrong, does that mean he's still needing to make some changes after last Saturday's loss? Hamden said he felt that Jacob Eason played well and made some good throws, but also said he thinks there were some missed opportunities as well. Chico McClatcher and Aaron Fuller both referenced their drops and how there isn't an excuse for those to happen, but they also discussed the adjustments they need to make to Eason's arm and how the ball comes off his hand. McClatcher also talked about getting some carries out of the backfield and that he knows he missed some opportunities to make plays and he's focused on making better decisions on when to cut and where the hole is going to be. On Wednesday, the media got the chance to talk with several of the Husky players and coaches, but the man on the spot was quarterback Jacob Eason who found himself surrounded by 15 people wanting to hear his thoughts on how he played against Eastern Washington as well as what it is that Cal's defense does so well. Eason gave his thoughts on getting the chance to play for the first time in nearly two years and what it was like to play in front of his friends and family for the first time in quite some time and he also looked back at some of the mistakes he made and knows he has a lot to work on as he continues to get better. We also got the chance to speak with tight end Cade Otton who has had a chance to play with Hunter Bryant now all the way through spring ball and fall camp and what that has been like as well as looking at the Cal film and what the Husky offense can do better. Tailback Salvon Ahmed discussed his music-making skills and what he talked about with Myles Gaskin shortly after finding out that his former teammate made the Miami Dolphins. Will Ahmed get a dinner from Gaskin now that he's making pro money? The junior tailback also said that starters playing on special teams, like he did on Saturday, is something that Chris Petersen expects from his best players and that he enjoyed it. He also talked about Cal and what the Husky offense is preparing for and he also reflected on Washington's first game of the season and what it was like to see Jacob Eason back there taking snaps and directing things. Senior wide receiver Aaron Fuller, who posted two impressive looking touchdown receptions during the game, talked about last year's game at Cal and how turnovers, penalties and mistakes by the offense impacted the game. He also looked back at his one-handed catch and how he and quarterback Jacob Eason had worked on getting that exact look and making that exact throw and catch in practice and it worked to perfection. Offensive coordinator Bush Hamden said he has watched the Cal game almost every day since the completion of that game, delving deep into what went wrong and how they can fix it and also what Cal linebacker Evan Weaver does so well and what they need to do to negate his impact. Offensive line coach Scott Huff said he was pleased with how Matteo Mele played in his first chance to see game action at a position he'd never played and how great it was to get so many reps for all of the young linemen. The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Jack McCauley - spoke with players and coaches from the offensive side of the ball Wednesday to get a sense of how they are feeling ahead of Saturday's season-opener at Husky Stadium versus Eastern Washington. Chris talked with Bush Hamdan about the quarterback competition, the decision that the coaches made, and also the decision by Jake Haener to leave the program after Jacob Eason won the competition. He also talked about the Eastern Washington game, the things they are stressing on the offense based on last year's audit of their difficulties, including the red zone, and more. Jack talked to Aaron Fuller about being a senior, taking a leadership role for the younger players like Puka Nacua and Taj Davis, and his relationship with the guys he came up with - Chico McClatcher, Andre Baccellia, and Quinten Pounds. The goal for Fuller is the same as it's always been, to get to another Pac-12 title game and to the National Championship game. Kim and Jack talked to Salvon Ahmed about the hottest game ticket during the season, how this year is a new experience for the team because so many players left to go to the NFL, and how the team is rallying behind Jacob Eason. He's an 'older guy' now, so nothing is going to faze him now. Kim talked to Nick Harris about being a pre-season All-American, why everyone likes Chico McClatcher so much, and his take on the quarterback spot and how that affects the team when players leave before the season starts. Kim also spoke with Chico McClatcher, and his work ethic and desire to play football. He also talked about getting bigger, faster, and stronger once he came to UW from Federal Way, and also how he's able to impact the offense. And lastly, Kim talked with Trey Adams about his favorite part of game day, and how the linemen have fun out there on the field while they are taking care of their jobs at the same time. Antonio Brown is.... interesting. Jerry Jeudy is really, really good. Henry Ruggs might end up being better. Ceedee Lamb might too. Jalen Reagor could run sub 4.3, but the TCU offense is trash. Alabama and Michigan each have three big time receivers and Aaron Fuller's tape was a tad disappointing.
The guys from Dawgman.com - Chris Fetters and Intern Emeritus Luke Mounger - go player-by-player in breaking down Washington's receivers room and what they expect to see from each player starting in early August. This is a big camp for a lot of players, especially the underclassmen. Guys like Terrell Bynum, Marquis Spiker, Austin Osborne and Trey Lowe had solid springs. But with four seniors leading the way, can any of the young bucks break through? And what about the veterans like Aaron Fuller, Quinten Pounds, Andre Baccellia and Chico McClatcher? All of them have points to prove in different ways. Could this be the breakout year for junior big man Ty Jones? And is this the last chance saloon for Jordan Chin? And finally, is there just too many players in front of Puka Nacua? Or can the true freshman rise above and show his class the moment he steps on the field for fall camp? Fetters and Mounger break it all down in this 25-minute podcast. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

On episode 30 of #ThatPodcast, LPiddy and Jon Jon spill the tea of the disaster that is this year's #TanaCon! TanaCon was to take place June 22 and 23, 2018 at the Anaheim Marriott Suites in Anaheim/Garden Grove, California, a short distance from the controversial Vidcon, which was being held in the Anaheim Convention Center, in, of course, Anaheim, California. TanaCon was supposed to be the more inclusive version of Vidcon, due to creator's frustration with safety concerns last year. The irony is that TanaCon was shut down by the Fire Marshall and Anaheim Fire Department due to large crows, riots and, ultimately, safety. According to tweets and reports, TanaCon sold about 5000 non-paid and paid tickets to this year's event. The first day of Tanacon, approximately 15,000 additional patrons, without tickets, swarmed the quaint Anaheim Marriott, with many fans waiting hours to either get into a tight convention or never get in at all. At the end of the day, TanaCon was cancelled. TanaCon's slogan this year was "Where Everyone is a Featured Creator" and was presented by Tana Mongeau and Good Times. Slated to appear were (in order on their site): Shane Dawson, Casey Neistat, Bella Thorne, Miranda Sings, Ricky Dillon, Trevor Moran, Elijah Daniel, JennXPenn, The Gabbie Show, Mario Selman, Ashly Schwan, Imari Stuart, Christine Sydelko, Adam22, Lena The Plug, Call Me Karizma, Chris Klemens, Emma Chamberlain, Corinna Kopf, Bradlee Wannemacher, Loey Lane, Zane Hijazi, Scotty Sire, Kristen McAtee, Heath Hussar, Matt King, Toddy Smith, Jackson Krecioch, LARRAY, Nate Garner, Cody Herbinko, Wesley Tucker, Karlee Steel, Dr. Woke, Rickey Thompson, Jack Baran, The Bell Twins, Conner Bobay, Raphael Gomes, Sarah Baska, Juwany Roman, Zach Clayton (BadZach), Danielle Cohn, Matthew Taylor, Cloe Couture, Griffin Arnlund, Oscar Wylde (Caked Up), Arii, Kylie Rae, Aaron Fuller, Lauren Godwin, Lisa Schwartz, Kyra Santoro, GotDamnZo, Weston Koury, Morgan Adams, Carrington Durham, Andrew Siwicki, Brittany Balyn, Nathalie Paris, Ryland Adams, Aaron Melloul, 99GoonSquad, Jazmine Garcia, Jonas Bridges, Cody Ko, Derek Kildall, Nikki Blackketter, Infinite Lists, Jessie Paege, Papa Jake, Brandon Rogers, Tyler Brown, Justin Blake, PRETTYMUCH, Nicolette Gray, Kiera Bridget, Anna Campbell, Jac Doherty, Mahogany LOX, Com3t, Somehoodlum and "MANY MORE."
