Born & raised in North Battleford he now calls Lloydminster home. He played 4 years for the Prince George Cougars, spent 3 1/2 seasons in the East Coast & finally came back to Lloydminster where he would help the Border Kings capture the 2007 Allan Cup. Although a Calgary Flames fan had an absolute blast with Aaron. I should point out his draft year he was ranked in the top 125 by central scouting and his story about how he was not entered into the NHL entry draft will stop you in your tracks. Enjoy.
Dewberry's own Kurt Bensmiller was in the studio today. Known for his accolades while driving chuckwagons (4x World Champ) his hockey resume is no less impressive. He played his Junior A with the North Battleford Northstars, a cup of coffee out in Quebec's fighting league, he helped guide Dewberry Mustangs to 7 straight SaskAlta titles & won an Allan Cup with the Bentley Generals. We also discussed competing against his father Buddy in the Calgary stampede and being in a sport where you can compete until the age of 65.
Tyler Weiman backstopped the Lacombe Generals to the 2019 Allan Cup, but before this he was drafted by the Colorado Avalanche 164th overall in the 2002 NHL entry draft. He played his WHL hockey for the Tri-City Americans and has 14 years as a pro. We get into this and more on this episode.

Despite assistance from the government that's helped out other areas, house prices in Hamilton are still skyrocketing. Why is this happening and is there anything that can be done about it? Guest: Rob Golfi, Hamilton Real Estate Agent - Ontario's government is saying a new logo will cost the province close to $90,000. For around $10 each, the Canadian Taxpayers Federation turned to the internet and had 8 new logos for Ontario created and you can vote online for which one you like. How and why was this done and what does it say about our governments' spending? What should our government be doing to ensure cuts can be made without damaging important services and programs? Guest: Christine Van Geyn, Ontario Director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation - Where is the 2020 Allan Cup being hosted and how will it be a first of it's kind in history? Is the legalization of tailgating going to change the attendance of sporting events in Hamilton? What about food and drink sales? Scott, Don Robertson and Jason Daleo talk about this and more in Sports Talk with Don Robertson. Guest: Don Robertson of the Dundas Real McCoys and Jason Daleo of the Hamilton Steelhawks
