What can we learn from one of the most complex AI projects in any museum today? What is the history of AI in museums? Can we add AI to our experiences without a complete renovation? How do you teach an AI about 775 different football teams? How can AI put visitors literally into a story? Is AI accurate enough for a museum? What about bias? Doesn't AI take away jobs? And how do you specify exactly what shade of college football orange you want to an AI — if you can only use words? Kimberly Beaudin (CEO, College Football Hall of Fame) and Geoff Thatcher (Founder & Chief Creative Officer, Creative Principals) discuss “A Museum Transformed with AI” with host Jonathan Alger (Managing Partner, C&G Partners | The Exhibition and Experience Design Studio). Along the way: Hypercinema, Salvador Dalí, and net promoter scores. Talking Points: 1. A College Football Museum Transformed with AI2. History of AI in Museums3. Adding, Not Redesigning4. You've likely experienced problems with a bully and maybe didn't know how to deal with it. Some people are saying that one of the biggest bullies is running the most powerful country in the world. Tony Volk, Brock University professor in the department of child and youth studies and associate member in the department of psychology, joins Evan to share how Canada should deal with "bullies." Pope Francis leaves behind a significant legacy for those of faith -- and others -- to learn from. Evan welcomes Michael MacLean, campus minister for the University of Saskatchewan's St. Thomas More College, to share more about the Pope's work and the significance of his Jesuit roots. With the passing of Pope Francis, Evan speaks with Erica Beaudin, Chief of Cowessess First Nation, who met with the Pope ahead of his travels to Canada to apologize to Indigenous people in 2022.

A social club, two more disappearances, and an abandoned five-year-old. Six weeks after Laureen Rahn vanished from her apartment in Manchester, on June 8th of 1980, 25-year-old Denise Daneault disappeared after spending a night out at a social club. For years investigators didn't take her disappearance seriously. What they didn't know was that another Denise, Denise Beaudin, also vanished from the Manchester area a little over a year after Denise Daneault. The two women had more than just their name in common, they were both living on Hayward Street. But unlike Denise Daneault, Denise Beaudin wasn't reported missing until thirty five years after she disappeared. Denise Daneault vanished from Manchester, New Hampshire on June 8th, 1980. She was last seen leaving the Merrimack Club at approximately 1:30 am. At the time of her disappearance Denise was 25 years old, 5'5, approximately 135 pounds with brown hair and brownish green eyes. She was last seen wearing a brown print skirt. Denise Beaudin vanished on November 26th, 1981 from Manchester, New Hampshire. She was last seen at her family's home in Goffstown. She was 23 years old, approximately 5'5, 140 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Denise has a distinct overbite. If you have any information about the disappearances of Denise Denault or Denise Beaudin contact the Manchester Police Department at 603-668-8711. What a wonderful day! Hayley has made her way out west for an LCD Soundsystem concert, which means your intrepid hosts are in the same room recording live in person for the very first time, as we took our best gals to see 2024's Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes on laser IMAX at the old SilverCity Coquitlam on a great trip through the many suburbs of Vancouver. And because they were in the room listening along during the recording anyway, J Mo and Haylz are joined on the mic by their respective life partners (platonic or otherwise) as Sydney Beaudin and Ashley Olson make their triumphant podcast debuts. It's an off-brand episode as we break the format to talk about a movie we saw in theatres, recorded mere hours after we had all just seen it. Directed by Wes Ball, written by Josh Friedman, and starring Owen Teague, Freya Allan, Kevin Durand, Peter Macon, Travis Jeffrey, Lydia Peckham and William H. Macy, Kingdom has a tough act to follow in the Caesar trilogy but still manages to offer its own unique thrills thanks in no small part to its overgrown ruin, post-apocalyptic setting. It's also a perfect demo reel for Ball to show he was the perfect choice to make a live action Legend of Zelda movie. If you'd like to watch the movie before listening to our discussion, it is of course currently in theatres everywhere, and will no doubt be streaming on Disney+ about five weeks from now. Other works discussed in this episode include Videodrome, The Fly, Crimes of the Future, A History of Violence, Eastern Promises, Scanners, Cosmopolis, Maps to the Stars, A Dangerous Method, The Maze Runner, Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant, Avatar: The Way of Water, The Lord of the Rings, Abigail, Real Steel, Deadpool & Wolverine, I.F., Harold & The Purple Crayon, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, and Twisters. We'll be back next week recording separately from our respective provinces as we welcome Mad Max: Fury Road into the podcast canon. That one is currently streaming in Canada on Crave and Starz at the time of publication. You can also grab it for $5 on Blu-ray from the discount bin at your local Walmart. Until then, we'll see you at the movies!!

Locked On Canadiens - Daily Podcast on the Montreal Canadiens
The Montreal Canadiens continued their efficient summer signing spree, crossing two more restricted free agents off their to-do list so far. The team announced the return of Nicolas Beaudin and Lucas Condotta on two-way deals for the upcoming season. Interestingly enough, Condotta appears to have done enough to have earned a two-year deal, with Beaudin returns on a one-year contract. Where do both of these players slot in on the Rocket next year, and will either push for serious NHL time as well? That leaves just Jesse Ylönen as the last unsigned RFA for the Canadiens, and it begs the question, where will the Finnish winger slot in next year? He has a ton of offensive upside, and the smarts to work great in Martin St. Louis' system, but spots are very limited. Could Ylönen become a sweetener in a trade to move a longer term contract off the books, or will Kent Hughes manage to make the space for Ylönen before the regular season begins? Finally, to end the show it's the Friday Mailbag! We tackle some listener questions on Juraj Slafkovsky's development next year and the future of Brendan Gallagher in Montreal, and more! Inspired by the humble Friday fish fry of the Lenten season, I started thinking about the fish on my plate our Great Lake, and the future of seafood. With costs of everything going up, we're making tough choices to feed ourselves and our families. Some local chefs have participated in the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Blue Ribbon Task Force, and I wanted to know more. Executive Chef Matthew Beaudin is a chef and advocate working at the renowned aquarium who merges culinary passion with innovation and creativity to preserve our bountiful seafood choices for future generations. In this episode we talk about the Seafood Watch program and rating system, why chefs can be leaders in the sustainability movement, and how we can make intentional choices that are better for our oceans. Your haddock, cod and other white fish is probably doing just fine but it is still the right time to expand our own palates to other species of fish that are plentiful and take a break on those that are struggling to repopulate or keep up with global demand. This podcast is supported by Chef Douglas Katz and the Katz group of restaurants and Tomato Monster Heirlooms.
What started as researching a singular disappearance led me down a rabbit hole of cases all revolving around New Hampshire somehow. We will begin with the case of Laureen Rahn, a 14-year-old who vanished from her Manchester, New Hampshire apartment in 1980. Next, we will discuss Denise Ann Daneault, 25, who disappeared just a few months later in the same area. Both of these cases remain unsolved, but there is some reason to believe they may be connected to the disappearance of Denise Beaudin. Beaudin would also vanish from the area but not until about a year and a half after Laureen's disappearance. Her case is set apart because she was last seen with her boyfriend, Bob Evans. This Bob Evans character will lead us to discuss the case of two more women, Marlyse Elizabeth Honeychurch and Eunsoon Jun, both of whom he had a relationship. Kimberly Beaudin is the Chief Executive Officer at the College Football Hall of Fame. Located in Atlanta, GA, the interactive experience and hall of fame immortalizes players of college football dating back to 1951. Kimberly began her career at Disney, where she developed a love for attractions and hospitality. After several years of marketing experience, Kimberly joined the College Football Hall of Fame, and was promoted to CEO in early 2020. In this interview, Kimberly talks about bringing game day energy, the 4 C's of leadership, and college football as a lifestyle. Bringing Game Day Energy "We're here to deliver a wonderful experience to our guests... and we should enjoy doing it." Kimberly knows that the best way to engage their guests is to have staff energy spill into the guest experience. From the moment guests walk into the main entrance, Kimberly wants them to be completely immersed in game day energy and all the amazing feelings that come with college football. Fan Ambassadors are essential in creating the game day energy. By building a team that interacts with the guests in a personal and exciting manner, it compliments the already interactive experience and helps build the emotions that fight songs and rivalries bring every game day. Kimberly has built this living, breathing experience to go beyond the 3 story helmet wall and into the hearts of their guests. The 4 C's of Leadership "I believe that leaders need to lead with confidence, courage, conviction, and compassion." Kimberly's leadership philosophy is to work hard and play hard. To accomplish this, she uses the 4 C's of leadership she's developed throughout her career: confidence, courage, conviction, and compassion. Confidence means ‘knowing your stuff' and not being afraid to share your ideas. Courage is the ability to keep moving forward and not being timid when it comes time to make a decision. Conviction is having the ability to make those tough decisions and put your foot down when it's needed. Finally, compassion is treating people the way they want to be treated. The 4 C's all play into each other, and although words like conviction and compassion may seem contradictory, they actually feed off of their connection and help develop great leadership practice. By developing one of the C's, you actually develop all of them, as every word is connected. College Football as a Lifestyle "The drive to succeed in team sports is a direct parallel to business." College football is one of the most popular sports in America. For many, watching their alma mater on the field can pull at their heartstrings and get them much more invested in the game since they're representing something close to their heart. Additionally, generational fandom and rivalries are even more big factors that get people invested in the world of college sports. Kimberly knows that these ideas behind college football also apply to many other things. Passion is a huge aspect in life, whether it be with hobbies or in the workplace. Additionally, this passion creates bonds that unites groups together, both large and small. Overall, implementing the ideology of college football into the workplace or anywhere else can create a great environment for all the people involved. Locked On Canadiens - Daily Podcast on the Montreal Canadiens
Inside today's Locked on Canadiens: The Montreal Canadiens made a trade on Wednesday! Kent Hughes shipped Cam Hillis to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for 2018 first-round pick Nicolas Beaudin. While Beaudin is set to start with the Laval Rocket at the end of the week, there is plenty to love about the latest Kent Hughes trade. Who is Beaudin, and what can fans expect from him during this season? Scott breaks it all down. The Laval Rocket are off to a 1-4-1 start following a loss to the Belleville Senators on Wednesday night. Despite a strong showing from the team as a whole, they lost with just eight seconds left on the clock, so what is going wrong for the team? Scott takes a look at who is performing well, including Mattias Norlinder, and what might need changing as the team tries to get itself back on track this weekend. The Habs are also back on the road, travelling to Buffalo for a showdown with the Sabres on Thursday night. Despite losing two games there is some good news for the Habs as first overall pick Juraj Slafkovsky returned to practice on Wednesday. Will the giant Slovak be back in time for the Sabres game, and if so, where can he be slotted back into the lineup? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! NBA – National Basketball Association Last Night Chicago Bulls 124, Indiana Pacers 109 Atlanta Hawks 118, Detroit Pistons 113 Bulls 124, Pacers 109 – LaVine’s 28 points enable Bulls to hold off Pacers, 124-109 Zach LaVine scored 28 points as the Chicago Bulls held off a third-quarter surge to earn a 124-109 victory over the Indiana Pacers. Bulls forward DeMar DeRozan scored 17 points to move within seven points of becoming the 50th player in NBA history to reach the 20,000-point mark. The Pacers rallied from a 24-point deficit behind Buddy Hield’s 24 points, including three 3-pointers late in the third quarter that trimmed the Bulls’ lead to four. Bulls forward Patrick Williams added a season-high 10 points, and reserve guard Goran Dragic provided a spark with 13 points and five assists. Pacers center Myles Turner made his season debut after an ankle injury and grabbed six rebounds. Hawks 118, Pistons 113 – Trae Young scores 35 points, Hawks beat Pistons 118-113 Trae Young scored 35 points and the Atlanta Hawks beat the Detroit Pistons 118-113 on Wednesday night to open a two-game set at Little Caesars Arena. The team will meet again Friday night. John Collins added 19 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks, and De’Andre Hunter had 17 points to help the Hawks improve to 3-1. Bojan Bogdanovic scored 33 points for Detroit. The Pistons have lost four in a row after an opening victory. Cade Cunningham added 26 points, seven rebounds and six assists, but had seven turnovers. NHL – National Hockey League Tonight Detroit Red Wings at Boston Bruins, 7:00 p.m. Edmonton Oilers at Chicago Blackhawks, 8:30 p.m. NHL – Canadiens get D Beaudin from Blackhawks for C Hills The Montreal Canadiens have acquired defenseman Nicolas Beaudin from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for center Cam Hillis. Beaudin had two goals and four assists in 22 games over three seasons for Chicago. The Quebec native was the 27th overall pick in the 2018 draft. Hills, the 66th pick in 2018, made his NHL debut with Montreal last season. NFL – National Football League – Week 8 Tonight Baltimore Ravens at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 8:15 p.m. NFL – Eagles acquire 3-time Pro Bowl DE Quinn from Bears The undefeated Philadelphia Eagles have acquired three-time Pro Bowl defensive end Robert Quinn from the Chicago Bears. Chicago gets a fourth-round pick in 2023 in return. The 32-year-old Quinn is off to a slow start with just one sack and three quarterback hits. But he broke Hall of Famer Richard Dent’s franchise record with 18 1/2 sacks last year in a resurgent season. The Eagles are the lone remaining undefeated team. NFL – Lions owner says she is still confident in team’s leadership Detroit Lions owner Sheila Ford Hamp spoke to reporters to share her frustration with the team’s 1-5 record and express confidence in the franchise’s leadership. Hamp says she doesn’t want everyone to push the panic button. Hamp fired general manager Bob Quinn and coach Matt Patricia nearly two years ago during her first season in charge. After going through a search to hire general manager Brad Holmes and coach Dan Campbell, she doesn’t sound eager to make a move to get rid of either or both. NFL – Ryan surprised, hopeful after getting benched by Colts The disappointment was etched all over Matt Ryan’s face. Two days after learning he had been benched by Indianapolis Colts coach Frank Reich, Ryan told reporters he was surprised and shocked. Second-year quarterback Sam Ehligner will replace the 15-year veteran as the starter Sunday against Washington. And Reich says Ehlinger will likely keep the No. 1 job for the rest of the season. MLB – World Series ump crew youngest in years, nod to K-zone tech The seven-man umpire crew working this World Series is easily the youngest in recent memory. It reflects the impact of computerized strike zones, plus other factors including injuries, retirements and postseason rotations. At an average age of 45.7 years old, the crew calling the Philadelphia Phillies-Houston Astros matchup is more than five years younger than the average of World Series crews over the past decade, The Associated Press tallied. So young, in fact, there won’t be a full-time regular-season crew chief on the field in Game 2 on Saturday night. Usually, two or sometimes three veteran chiefs are on the Fall Classic crew. The Series starts Friday night in Houston. NCAAFB – Irish need improved red-zone defense as ranked foes loom Notre Dame’s defense has been its strength this season. But the Fighting Irish have been poor once opponents have gotten inside the red zone. Coach Marcus Freeman and defensive coordinator Al Golden says that needs to improve when the Irish face No. 16 Syracuse and No. 5 Clemson in back-to-back weeks. Irish opponents have scored on every trip inside the red zone this season, including touchdowns 82.4% of the time. That ranks 130th out of 131 FBS teams. NCAAFB – SEC takes strong stance against storming the field The Southeastern Conference wants tremendous competition. It also wants teams from both schools to have a safe experience after playing in perhaps the most frenzied arenas in college football. Wild celebrations after No. 3 Tennessee’s landmark home win over No. 6 Alabama and No. 18 LSU’s victory over 15th-ranked Mississippi turned into hefty fines for both winning schools for violating the SEC’s Access to Competition Area. Tennessee was fined $100,000 and LSU was docked $250,000. The SEC has an increasing scale on fines with violations with additional violations triggering bigger penalties. NCAA – NCAA approves new guidance on player endorsement deals The NCAA’s Division I Board of Directors approved new guidance to members on name, image and likeness activities, clarifying how schools, coaches and staffers can be involved athletes’ endorsement and sponsorship deals. The latest clarifications to the NCAA’s interim NIL policy create no new rules. They are intended to give athletic departments a better idea of what types of support fall outside existing bylaws. The guidance said school personnel, including coaches, can be part of fundraising for collectives, which are booster-funded organizations that provide opportunities for athletes to profit from their names, images and likenesses. But coaches and school staff members cannot donate directly to collectives. Hospitality Leaders - Interviews with hotel, event, and food service experts
On this episode of the Hospitality Leaders podcast, I'm joined by Kimberly Beaudin, CEO at the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame, to hear her perspective on the increasing role of technology in the hospitality industry. The College Football Hall of Fame is steeped in the latest technology available, from RFID systems to an immersive virtual reality exhibit. These systems allow Kimberly and her team to personalize the guest experience to an utterly astounding degree. This personalization only works, however, if the available technology is paired with a well-trained staff. The human element of hospitality isn't going away. It's just being given new tools to enhance guest experiences in the form of digital solutions. Kimberly knows that her team is still her greatest asset, and she's careful not to depend too much on technology without equally investing in her staff. By allowing digital tools to complement and aid her team's strengths, rather than replace them, she's creating an ideal environment for guests to feel personally catered to, without losing the warmth that comes from human hospitality. Kimberly has an outstanding understanding of balancing these two assets, and the success of her organization is proof of its effectiveness.
