In Blendr Report EP89, former CBSA officer Luc Sabourin exposes systemic corruption and mismanagement within Canada Border Services Agency, warning of a looming national security crisis. Sabourin reveals that over 300,000 travel documents, including 283,000 blank passports, have been stolen and exploited by transnational crime networks. He highlights failures like approving individuals on terror watch lists for immigration and a CBSA culture prioritizing volume over security. With claims of corruption compromising Canada's relationship with the U.S., Sabourin warns, “We are going to face our worst nightmare,” underscoring the urgent need for systemic reform. - Support independent media by purchasing an "Everybody vs. Trudeau" shirt: everybodyvstrudeau.com - Get original articles, extended podcasts, and direct access to Blendr News on our Substack Channel: blendrnews.substack.com - In this episode of "The Blendr Report," Jonathan and Liam discuss: 0:00 Introduction 0:40 Luc Sabourin's Role Within the CBSA 2:32 Criminals and Terrorists Stole 283,000 Blank Canadian Passports 5:15 CBSA Sacrificing Safety for Quick immigration Approvals 8:46 How Did the CBSA React to Passport Thefts? 11:23 Destruction of Important Documents at the CBSA 17:20 How Have Public Officials Reacted to Whistleblowing? 19:41 Is the CBSA Incompetent or Corrupt? 23:42 How Common is Corruption in the CBSA? 28:02 Canada's Passport Strength in Decline: Due to Crime? 30:29 Trump's 25% Tariff Threat Over Border Security 34:11 Will a Change of Government Fix Corruption? 37:22 Does Canada Have a “Deep State?” 41:02 How Many in the CBSA are Aware of Corruption? 46:28 Is the RCMP as Untrustworthy as the CBSA? 53:57 What Can Canadians Do About Corruption? 58:30 How Unsafe Has Canada Become? - Follow BLENDR News: Twitter - @BlendrNews Instagram - @blendr.report TikTok - @blendrnews - Follow Jonathan: Instagram - @itsjonathanharvey TikTok - @itsjonathanharvey - Follow Liam: Instagram - @liam.out.loud Twitter - @liam_out_loud YouTube - @liam-out-loud

Welcome to our fourth Season's first episode!Listen to Leah's conversation with Caroline Sabourin who enjoys a 30-year career in organising Motorsports events globally while running a Sports Car Championship of 60 international teams. Caroline's longest day was in 2000 when during the Australian Grand Prix, at the final race, one of the cars went sideways and was thrown in the air by another car, causing significant damage to other cars that had to crash into the wall. At Race Control, she and Tim Bamford, the Australian Grand Prix Chief Executive, took the hardest decision of her career which was to cancel the race. Against this in the background was that she and her colleagues had to underwrite the cost of the loss of TV rights if anything went wrong with the race. It was a huge undertaking but because it was so special they went ahead with it. Motorsport is life for Caroline. She counts it as a blessing to have been raised in the sport even if it is one where “something goes wrong, generally it goes stupendously wrong.” But she was brought up to remain calm in the middle of a problem and deal with it. She's a believer that anything is achievable and its corollary that “the only limitation is the belief in yourself.” On all the billboards in the race, the saying advertised was “Make every second count” – a saying she lives by.

Lor Sabourin has been in the climbing scene for a while now! They made the first no-falls ascent of the route, ‘Cousin of Death' (5.13+/7c+) in Northern Arizona, back in 2020. Then in 2021, they did an impressive ascent of ‘East Coast Fist Bump' (5.14a/8b+).This was only the beginning though, this autumn, Lor outdid themselves by sending the infamous “Stranger Than Fiction” (5.14b/8c). This was the first redpoint since the first ascensionist Mason Earle sent the route in 2015.Lor's projecting process fascinated and continues to impress us here at Lattice, as they have a unique approach to dealing with the physical, mental and technical aspects of projecting complex routes over a long time period. Whilst Lattice has worked with many athletes over the years who've had season-long projects, it's always remarkable to see someone achieve their multi-year project!Key topics:Lor finding and sampling ‘Stranger than Fiction'Mental tools for dealing with the uncertainty of technical trad routes The type of training they did with their Lattice coach Maddy CopeUsing gratitude as a tool when long-term projectingJuggling work with the climbing lifestyleTools they used to progress every season on ‘Stranger than Fiction'How their training led to a leap in their bouldering gradeWant to learn more about how a Performance Coaching Plan can help you achieve your goals? -

This episode is rated a 5 (on my Serious Crime Scale). As a disclaimer, I must warn listeners that this is an extremely tough case to hear because it involves the brutal murder of a minor. In April of 1998, the body of a 13-year-old girl, Tiffany Sabourin, was found on the campus of Lindenwood University, a private institution in St. Charles, Missouri. After an extensive search involving bloodhounds, it was ultimately a tip from a fellow Lindenwood student that would help bring her killer to justice. This week on the One Year No Beer Podcast Jen welcomes Michelle Sabourin, one of the latest additions to the OYNB coaching team to the show. They discuss Michelle's background before she got into coaching and how her journey started by doing yoga after having her second child as a way to relax. After finding a real love for the practice, Michelle later went on to teach yoga and meditation. After some time, she realised that what she actually liked most was helping people holistically, so she decided to become a life coach. Michelle speaks on the importance of self-care as a parent and how taking care of yourself is not a selfish act, at all. In fact, as you will hear, self-care will allow you to be a better person overall as well as a more effective parent. One of the ways that Michelle takes care of herself is through meditation and she encourages listeners to try it for themselves as a way to help quiet the mind and find a deeper level of inner peace. In this episode you will learn: Michelle struggles with parenting after the birth of her disabled son Why Michelle became a coach The benefits coaching has had on Michelle's life The importance of meditation For more information on what is shared in this episode and to join the AFM community for more support, coaching, book club, meetups and positivity power-ups then head to https://www.oneyearnobeer.com/afm and use the code PODCAST10 for 10% off joining the Alcohol-Free community The One Year No Beer Podcast is the show created to inspire you to take the steps needed to Finally Transform Your Relationship With Alcohol. Lor Sabourin knows a thing or two about resilience and the power of thoughtfully approaching a relationship - be it with a sport or gender. A professional rock climber who grew up in Detroit, they spent years figuring out how to not hide their queer identity in a very male, heteronormative, and competitive world. Lor now works to spread the wisdom they've gathered by creating affirming spaces in outdoor communities and also training other climbers on mental stability. They are also the subject of a recent documentary film put out by Patagonia called They/Them. We invited Lor to talk about their personal journey, creating inclusive spaces, and how to simply find more Joy in the lives we choose. We also hear from Sand Chang, PhD (They/Them) about the relationship between our society and mental health trends in the Queer Community.
College was a really fun part of my life but campuses can be dangerous places. I received many an e-mail from campus police about a sexual assault or attempted sexual assault on campus and the steps we can do to protect ourselves (one of the many reasons Roe V. Wade should not be overturned btw). Whenever we received those e-mails, the student body would be on edge for a while, hoping we weren't next. In the 90s though, it wasn't just the students at Missouri's Lindenwood University who would run into trouble. Sometimes it was an innocent bystander from the surrounding neighborhoods. Please note: this episode contains reenactments of sexual assault against a minor which may be triggering and disturbing.
