Maura Kolb, President of Dryden Gold Corp (TSX.V: DRY) (OTCQX: DRYGF), joins me for an exploration update on some of the recent news releases with the most up-to-date drill results at the Elora-Jubilee and Big Master and trends at the Gold Rock Camp, and touching up on the Hyndman and Sherridon regional targets, across their Dryden Gold District, in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. We start off discussing how this year's exploration program is continuing to build up the high-grade drill results from last year's drill program, confirming the thesis around the 3 geological deformation faults and folds at the Elora-Jubilee and Big Master trends at the Gold Rock Camp. Drilling at Jubilee tested between 150 to 200 meters with the goal of collecting structural data to improve in predicting high-grade gold mineralization at depth. Deeper down-plunge testing will begin this summer, and a second drill rig will be deployed to continue to fully define the high-grade footprint at Gold Rock. The 2026 drill program has now expanded to 45,000 meters. *Jubilee Drill Highlights: Hole DGR-054 returned 2.92 g/t gold over 14.50 meters including 6.79 g/t gold over 5.00 meters also including two high-grade intercepts of 28.80 g/t gold over 0.40 meters and 15.30 g/t gold over 0.60 meters (Figure 1, Table 1). Hole DGR-056 returned 2.48 g/t gold over 12.65 meters including 33.50 g/t gold over 0.50 meters. Confirmation of the multiple hanging wall and footwall mineralized stacked structures across Gold Rock, including Hole DGR-053 intercepting 0.73 g/t gold over 9.58 meters. Two drill holes, on the Big Master Gold System at Gold Rock, tested the near-surface mineralization above (up-dip) from the recent Sparrow discovery. The third hole intersected Barrelman on BM1 and Treasure on BM2 expanding these zones at depth. The latest results validate the Company's exploration model and support an expanded 2026 drill program at Gold Rock. A second drill rig has been contracted and is scheduled for deployment on July 1. *Big Master Drill Highlights: Hole DGR-051 returned 3.24 g/t gold over 14.77 meters including 29.55 g/t gold over 1.35 meters at Sparrow 88.00 meters from surface. Hole DGR-052 returned 1.02 g/t gold over 13.50 meters including 8.88 g/t gold over 1.00 meter also at Sparrow 125.00 meters from surface. Hole DGR-057 expanded mineralization at both Treasure and Barrelman. *Maura encouraged investors to further inspect these drill results within the context of 3D modeling tools over at Mining Hub: https://mininghub.com/3d/v/6dcjgqzm We expanded the conversation to review the potential for similar look-alike types of deposits to exist along the multi-kilometer Gold Rock mineralized trend, in a “string-of-pearls” thesis, where the Mud Lake area will be the next target tested with drilling in 2026. We touch upon the initial groundwork and drilling at the Hyndman regional area, with a lot of follow up work underway based on the exploration results released back on April 21st. Maura reiterated the importance of the large soil sampling and channel sampling programs across their district-scale land package, and how it will inform follow up targeting, when used in concert with geophysical surveys. Trey Wasser, CEO, and Maura Kolb, President of Dryden Gold Corp (TSX.V: DRY) (OTCQX: DRYGF), joined us for a KER Webinar video, where we reviewed the key exploration targets that have been worked on last few seasons, as well as the most up-to-date drill results at the Elora-Jubilee and Big Master and trends at the Gold Rock Camp, and at the Hyndman and Sherridon regional targets, across their Dryden Gold District, in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. Trey kicked things off with an overview of the key members of the management team, strategic shareholders, institutional investors, and sector coverage. He also reviewed the financial health of the company and the equity finance announced April 14th. We discussed the high-grade drill results from this year's drill program, confirming the thesis around the 3 geological deformation faults and folds at the Elora-Jubilee and Big Master trends at the Gold Rock Camp. Maura displayed these drill results within the context of 3D modeling tools live for webinar attendees. The potential for similar types of deposits exist along the multi-kilometer Gold Rock mineralized trend, in a “string-of-pearls” thesis, where the Mud Lake area will be the next target tested with drilling in 2026. We'll dive into the initial groundwork and drilling at the Hyndman regional area, with a fresh take on new results just released today on April 21st. Trey and Maura reiterated the importance of the large soil sampling and channel sampling programs across their district-scale land package, and how it will inform follow up targeting, when used in concert with geophysical surveys. We also recapped what was learned from the first 3 drill holes that were put into the Sherridon regional area last season, which is hosted within a large geophysical anomaly and a strike length of five kilometers, and what the follow up ground work will be. There is an extended Q&A session at the end where participants were able to get their questions fielded by Trey and Maura. Maura Kolb, President, of Dryden Gold Corp (TSX.V: DRY) (OTCQB: DRYGF), joins me for an exploration update where there have been three new high-grade gold discoveries on the Big Master Gold System at Gold Rock. The new Sparrow and Ruby discoveries represent 300-meter step-outs to the northeast from the known high-grade zones at Treasure and Barrelman (Figures 1 & 2). We also discuss the 2026 work program at the 3 regional areas: Gold Rock Camp, Sherridon, and Hyndman across their Dryden Gold District, in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. We'll be covering all of these 3 regional areas of focus in visual detail in an upcoming webinar next Tuesday May 21st (more information down below). We start off reviewing some the key targets drilled last season and this season so far at both the Big Master and Elora Gold trends at the Gold Rock Camp, incorporating the data sets from the D1, D2, and new understanding of the D3 structural faulting trends. Highlights: Confirms high-grade gold on two new fault intersection targets. -Drill hole DGR-048 intercepted 4.25 meters grading 32.87 g/t gold, including 0.50 meters of 252.00 g/t gold on BM1 (Sparrow). - Drill hole DGR-049 intercepted 4.00 meters grading 6.51 g/t gold, including 1.50 meters of 16.10 g/t gold on BM2 (Ruby). Extends high-grade gold mineralization below the historical Big Master Mine. - Drill hole DRG-047 was collared 300 meters south of (Barrelman) near the historic Big Master Mine and intercepted 3.80 meters grading 13.08 g/t gold, including 1.15 meters of 41.45 g/t gold (Buccaneer). Development of new 3-D figures featuring BM1 and BM2 mineralized structures as grade thickness contoured long sections with D3 structural intersections. Click for interactive 3-D link and video https://mininghub.com/3d/v/x3JTVxwP We discuss the significance of the broader bulk tonnage mineralization that is then being upgraded by these multiple high-grade intercepts along the hanging wall and foot wall parallel trends; and why it is encouraging to keep seeing both types of mineralization for the overall continuity of the deposit. Next we discussed the upcoming work programs on tap in the Gold Rock Camp to test the depth components along the Elora-Jubilee and Big Master trends. Additionally, the Mud Lake target, further up the Gold Rock trend is going to be getting more exploration work this season, as potential similar style deposit. Wrapping up, we shifted over to the regional Sherridon and Hyndman area. The first 6 holes were drilled at Hyndman this season and they pending assays coming back from the lab imminently. Producer/Host: R.W. Estela Hi, I'm RW Estela: Since 1991, I've been presenting A Word in Edgewise, WERU's longest-running short feature, a veritable almanac of worldly and heavenly happenings, a confluence of 21st-century life in its myriad manifestations, international and domestic, cosmopolitan and rural, often revealing, as the French say, the more things change, the more they stay the same — though not always! Sometimes in addressing issues affecting our day-to-day lives, in this age of vagary and ambiguity, when chronological time is punctuated elliptically, things can quickly turn edgy and controversial, as we search for understanding amid our dialectic. Tune in Monday mornings at 7:30 a.m. for an exciting journey through space and time with a few notable birthdays thrown in for good measure during A Word in Edgewise . . . About the host: RW Estela was raised as a first-generation American in Colorado by a German mother and a Corsican-Basque father who would become a three-war veteran for the US Army, so RW was naturally a military brat and later engaged in various Vietnam-era civil-service adventures before paying his way through college by skiing for the University of Colorado, playing Boulder coffeehouses, and teaching. He has climbed all of Colorado's Fourteeners; found work as an FAA-certificated commercial pilot, a California-licensed building contractor, a publishing editor, a practitioner of Aikido, and a college professor of English; among his many interdisciplinary pursuits are the design and building of Terrell Residence Library (recently renamed the Terrell House Permaculture Living & Learning Center at the University of Maine), writing Building It In Two Languages (a bilingual dictionary of construction terminology), aerial photo documentation of two dam removals (Great Works and Veazie) on the Penobscot River, and once a week since 1991 drafting an installment of A Word In Edgewise, his essay series addressing issues affecting our day-to-day lives — and WERU's oldest continuous short feature. When pandemics do not interfere, he does the Triple Crown of Maine open-water ocean swims (Peaks to Portland, Islesboro Crossing, and Nubble Light Challenge) and the Whitewater Downriver Point Series of the Maine Canoe and Kayak Racing Organization. RW is the father of two and the grandfather of three and lives with his partner Kathleen of 37 years and their two Maine Coons in Orono. Send us Fan MailChristian Dryden and David Andreana from the Ritualists stop by the show to discuss the up coming UK tour, new music that might be coming out in the fall, AI and more. ****Rising from the NYC underground scene of the Lower East Side, The Ritualists first attained international critical acclaim for their debut album, Painted People, released just prior to the pandemic on Out of Line Music. The record, and particularly, its lead single “Ice Flower,” was hailed as a seamless blend of dark beauty & anthemic pop sensibilities. The follow-up effort, Baroque & Bleeding, produced by Brit-Pop icon, Ed Buller(Psychedelic Furs, White Lies, Pulp, Suede), has been described as “pure new romantic psychedelia,” by Duran Duran's Simon Le Bon, and continued the trend of critical adoration, along with regular airplay on SiriusXM. This momentum lead to multiple US tours and multiple collaborations, performing with members of Blondie, Love and Rockets, D Generation and The New York Dolls. The Ritualists now seek to build on their brand of “Gothic Art Rock” (Hollywood Life) with their latest, full-length effort, Too Pure to Cure (Suite484Music) produced by GRAMMY-winner, Mario McNulty (David Bowie, Prince, Willow). The band, which has oftentimes been identified as proudly embracing the more ornate elements of rock-and-roll, further tested such boundaries, as this newest release was honored on multiple "Best of 2025" lists & has been described as "Moody, melodic & undeniably magnetic" by Savoir Faire & "a heartfelt and adventurous offering from a band that seems poised to usher in a new era of new romantic art rock" by Regen MagazineThe Ritualists have announced their first-ever tour of the UK in support of their 3rd album, Too Pure to Cure.Christian Dryden and co. will embark on a short, but compelling run of shows across the UK, with stops in London, Manchester, Reading and Nottingham, from April 17th-22nd. Interview with Maura Kolb, President of Dryden Gold Corp. Our previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/dryden-gold-tsxvdry-11m-exploration-budget-funds-32000m-program-in-high-grade-gold-district-9261Recording date: 2nd March 2026Dryden Gold Corp. (TSXV:DRY) is one of the more technically coherent high-grade gold exploration stories in the Canadian junior sector. The company holds an 80,000-hectare land package in northwestern Ontario, hosts mineralisation grading up to 53,700 grams per tonne gold, and is advancing a fully funded 32,000-metre drill programme in 2026 aimed at building the discovery footprint toward a future multi-million ounce resource. The company's primary focus is the Gold Rock target area, which has undergone a material transformation in the two years since systematic exploration began. At the outset, geologists had mapped three mineralised structures within the target. That count has now reached 15 parallel structures, with two separate drill holes separated by 500 metres of strike confirming the same structural inventory at each intersection. That spatial consistency is a meaningful geological signal: it suggests the system is not a series of isolated occurrences but a laterally continuous mineralised corridor with repeating, predictable architecture. The most recent drilling also extended the Big Master system, a secondary gold structure within Gold Rock, to a true depth of 460 metres, more than four times its previously drilled vertical extent. This depth extension effectively doubles the size of that target and introduces a meaningful question about the system's behaviour at depth, which the 2026 programme is well-positioned to begin answering. The company's broader geological model, the "string of pearls" thesis, holds that the 20-kilometre Gold Rock trend will ultimately host multiple discrete deposits, each analogous to the individual mines that define the Red Lake gold camp. The Mud Lake discovery last summer, which displays a geological footprint consistent with the Gold Rock target area, provides early validation of this model. Two further anomalies on the same trend remain untested and will be drilled in 2026.A property-wide soil geochemistry programme has added a further dimension to the targeting picture. The results align with the structural model, with the most pronounced anomalies occurring at the intersections the geological team had already identified as highest priority. The Hyndman target on the eastern side of the property is an emerging area of interest, with soil data indicating that initial drill holes tested only a fraction of the anomalous system. From a capital structure perspective, Dryden Gold is differentiated by its lean operating model. There is no corporate office; management and technical staff are based on-site in Dryden. Approximately 80% of all capital raised has been deployed directly into exploration. Centerra Gold holds a 9.9% strategic stake, providing third-party validation of the geological thesis without creating near-term dilution pressure.Management has been explicit about deferring a resource estimate until sufficient discovery footprint has been established to support a resource at institutional scale. The 2026 field season with 32,000 metres of funded drilling across multiple high-priority targets represents the most significant exploration period in the company's history to date, and the results will be the primary driver of value through the year.View Dryden Gold's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/dryden-goldSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

Podcast Transcript In the early 18th century, Alexander Pope's poetry was known to every cultured person in England. He was a fashionable, successful, wealthy writer and the preeminent poet of his age. He was also a canny businessman who published his translations of Homer via subscription, an early form of crowdfunding, and they sold so well he built himself, an extravagantly large villa in Twickenham – and its famous subterranean grotto still exists today. His political satires were so sharp and topical that he was rumoured to carry a pair of loaded pistols when going for a walk, in case one of his targets took violent exception. Phrases from his poetry are still proverbial: ‘hope springs eternal', ‘Fools rush in where angels fear to tread', ‘a little learning is a dangerous thing', ‘To err is human; to forgive divine', ‘What oft was thought but ne'er so well expressed', and also the title of the movie, ‘eternal sunshine of the spotless mind'. But these days, Pope has really fallen out of fashion. He's seen as archaic and artificial. In an age when formal poetry is out of fashion, for many people he represents the worst kind of formal poetry: his very regular metre and full rhymes sound clunky to our ears. His rhyming couplets are undoubtedly clever, but that's part of the problem, because these days we associate poetry with emotions and self-expression, so cleverness is seen as a little suspect and somehow inauthentic. And I'll be honest, for a long time, I had that image of Pope. He represented everything the Romantics rebelled against at the end of the 18th century, and as a young poet I was on the side of the Romantics, so I had no interest in Pope. However, a few years ago, I challenged myself to have another look at his work, and what I discovered was a really sharp and thought-provoking and witty and formidably skilful poet, who in certain moods, is an absolute pleasure to read. And he doesn't fit every mood, but then there aren't many poets who do. So turning to today's poem, An Essay on Man is one of Pope's major works, it's about 1,300 lines long. As the title suggests it's a meditation on the nature of what he called mankind, and we call humankind, we have to make allowance for the historic focus on the male as representative of the species. It's also a didactic poem, he's not just reflecting on the subject, he is telling us what we should think about it. Which again, is a deeply unfashionable stance for poets these days, at least when they are on the side of a conservative or establishment position. And he does this in the form of a series of verse epistles, verse letters, which are addressed to Henry St John, Viscount Bolingbroke. The epistle form also means that the poem addresses the reader in a very direct manner, as you would expect in a letter. His basic stance, which we find in many of his poems, is of a reasonable man writing for a group of like-minded people, trying to establish some sort of common sense, shared ideas and principles, in a world where these need to be debated and defined and defended. This was the world of the coffee house and the salon, where people came together to debate, sometimes in very robust fashion. It came to be known as the Augustan age in English literature, by comparison with the satirical and political poetry of the age of Augustus Caesar. OK looking more closely at the poem itself, the excerpt I just read is from the second Epistle, and one of the first things we notice is what Milton would have called the ‘jingling' rhymes: Know then thyself, presume not God to scan; The proper study of mankind is man. Placed on this isthmus of a middle state, A being darkly wise, and rudely great: With too much knowledge for the sceptic side, With too much weakness for the stoic’s pride, It's pretty unmistakeable isn't it? One pair of rhymes after another. And in case you're wondering, yes, these rhyming couplets do go on all the way through the poem, and indeed all the way through most of Pope's work. And not just in Pope: for over a century, from about 1650 to 1780, this was a hugely popular verse form. They are known as heroic couplets because they are associated with epic narrative poems, such as John Dryden's translations of Virgil and Pope's translations of Homer. Each line is in iambic pentameter, the familiar ti TUM ti TUM ti TUm ti TUM ti TUM, with two lines next to each other forming couplets, and the poem proceeding with one couplet after another. The form can be traced back to Chaucer, who used rhyming couplets for many of his narrative poems. But by the time of Dryden and Pope it had evolved into a tighter couplet form, described as closed couplets, meaning that they were typically self contained, with a sentence, or a discrete part of a sentence, beginning and ending inside the couplet. For instance: Know then thyself, presume not God to scan; The proper study of mankind is man. That stands on its own as a single thought, a unit of sense, ending with a full stop. And the full rhyme of ‘scan' and ‘man' means the couplet snaps shut at the end – this is the closed couplet effect we associate with heroic couplets. In the next couplet he introduces the idea of man as a creature of ‘middle state': Placed on this isthmus of a middle state, A being darkly wise, and rudely great: And then another couplet elaborates on the sense of being pulled in different directions: With too much knowledge for the sceptic side, With too much weakness for the stoic's pride, So the poem proceeds one unit of sense at a time. The couplets are like Lego bricks, and Pope used them to build just about anything he wanted: literary and philosophical discourse here in the Essay on Man and in his Essay on Criticism; mock-heroic social comedy in The Rape of the Lock; actual epic in his translations of the Iliad and the Odyssey; and satire in The Dunciad. It's easy to see how this could become monotonous, and in the work of most poets of the time, it did. But Pope's great achievement was to take this established form and perfect it, sticking very strictly to the formal pattern, while varying the syntax, the grammatical patterns, with great subtlety and complexity, to keep the reader on their toes. Let's take another look at the first couplet. Notice the little pause in the middle of the first line, after ‘thyself': Know then thyself, presume not God to scan; This divides the line into two parts, conveying the dramatic tension in Pope's argument: he's saying that humans are ambitious for knowledge, they want to ‘scan' God, to examine him, but they should really focus on self-knowledge. This tension between opposites is known as antithesis, it's a rhetorical pattern we looked at back in episode 58 about one of Sir Philip Sidney's sonnets, and it's very common in Pope. And the tension is resolved in the next line, which is all one phrase, with no pause: The proper study of mankind is man. Have another listen to the couplet, to hear how the tension is established and then released: Know then thyself, presume not God to scan; The proper study of mankind is man. So when all of this comes together, the tension and release, the regular rhythm of the metre and the full rhymes clinching the couplet, it has the effect of making the words sound truer than true. The following couplet picks up on the antithesis, and extends it into paradox: Placed on this isthmus of a middle state, A being darkly wise, and rudely great: An isthmus is a narrow strip of land between two bodies of water, so standing on it, you could easily feel precarious and threatened. ‘Darkly wise' means ‘dimly wise', possessing a little knowledge, but not enough for full understanding. And ‘rudely great' means ‘powerful but coarse and unfinished'. And I think we can recognise what Pope is saying from our own experience – that sense of knowing enough to know how little we really know; of having great potential, but struggling to fulfil it. And isn't it delightful how Pope compresses all those feelings into these neat little paradoxes: ‘darkly wise and rudely great'. In another famous line, he describes true eloquence as ‘What oft was thought but ne'er so well expressed', which is exactly what he achieves here. We can also note that ‘darkly wise' and ‘rudely great' are not only antitheses expressed as paradoxes, they are also an example of another rhetorical pattern: parallelism, where similar structures are repeated with variation. In this case ‘darkly' and ‘rudely' are both adverbs and ‘wise' and ‘great' are both adjectives, so grammatically they are identical, which suggests both similarity and difference in mankind's relationship to knowledge and power. The next couplet uses a more elaborate parallelism: With too much knowledge for the sceptic side, With too much weakness for the stoic's pride, So both lines say ‘With too much something for the something else'. It's hard to miss the pattern, isn't it? And notice how the couplet form is perfect for laying out two ideas that seem to counterbalance each other perfectly. So we're only six lines in and Pope has put his finger on a central conundrum in human existence, and conveyed it with at least three rhetorical patterns nested inside each other – antithesis, paradox and parallelism. Not only that, he's handled the metre and rhyme with great skill, wrapping each thought up in the neat little bow of a rhyming couplet. And if your mind is starting to boggle, welcome to the world of Pope's verse: elegant, authoritative and very, very clever. When we look closely, there's a lot going on inside every single couplet. He's like a watchmaker, working at a tiny scale, making an instrument with great precision and balance, that keeps perfect time, and chimes beautifully. And Pope's contemporaries would have found it easier to follow the sense than we do, because they were used to reading this kind of stuff. But I'm sure the poetry would often have given them pause, even if only for a moment, as they read. And my guess is that they would have enjoyed this slight difficulty, and the pleasure of making out the sense, with the little dopamine hit of understanding. Like unwrapping a sweet before you can pop it in your mouth and taste it. So I hope we're starting to see why Pope is the undisputed master of the heroic couplet. Even T. S. Eliot had to admit defeat, when he wrote a passage in this style for The Waste Land, only for Ezra Pound to point out tactfully that he couldn't compete with Pope, and draw the red pencil through it. But the form is more than simply one couplet after another. When he stacks them together, they create verse paragraphs, longer units of thought, that function very like paragraphs in prose. So having established the idea of man caught between opposing forces, he goes on to elaborate on the theme to dazzling effect: He hangs between; in doubt to act, or rest; In doubt to deem himself a god, or beast; In doubt his mind or body to prefer; Born but to die, and reasoning but to err; Alike in ignorance, his reason such, Whether he thinks too little, or too much: The couplets are individually brilliant, and cumulatively overwhelming, both in terms of the mental effort required to tease out their meanings, and the tension between action and inaction, divine and bestial impulses, mind and body, birth and death, reason and error. And I think that's why I find this line so funny: Whether he thinks too little, or too much: It feels like he's throwing his arms up and laughing and admitting that he's overthinking it all. The verse paragraph ends with three more couplets, where he sums up the nature of man: Chaos of thought and passion, all confused; Still by himself abused, or disabused; Created half to rise, and half to fall; Great lord of all things, yet a prey to all; Sole judge of truth, in endless error hurled: The glory, jest, and riddle of the world! Although Pope is describing a ‘chaos of thought', his own thinking is always sharp, however convoluted his argument becomes. So he sticks to the themes of power and knowledge, undercutting man's pretension by saying he is ‘Great lord of all things, yet a prey to all', and ‘Sole judge of truth, in endless error hurled'. And he ends this paragraph with another rhetorical device, the tricolon, which uses three parallel elements to build to a conclusion: The glory, jest, and riddle of the world! We're familiar with this pattern in famous quotes from Julius Caesar, ‘I came, I saw, I conquered', the US Declaration of Independence, ‘Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness', and Shakespeare: ‘Friends, Romans, countrymen!' Here, Pope uses it with typical precision, since if someone is both the ‘glory… of the world' and it's ‘jest', i.e. the butt of its jokes, then that makes that person a ‘riddle': The glory, jest, and riddle of the world! So this sums up the nature of man, and sets up the jesting irony of the next verse paragraph: Go, wondrous creature! mount where science guides, Go, measure earth, weigh air, and state the tides; Instruct the planets in what orbs to run, Correct old time, and regulate the sun; If this were the start of the poem, we might be forgiven for taking Pope's words at face value, but in the light of what has gone before, it's pretty clear that ‘wondrous creature' is a mocking criticism. He was writing this in an age where Newtonian physics was in the ascendancy and people were full of enthusiasm about the new discoveries in science and the possibility of understanding and mastering the physical world. And given that we are still living in a so-called age of reason, I think his criticisms of scientific overreach are still relevant, and the joke is still funny, when he talks about instructing the planets in what orbits to follow, correcting time and regulating the sun. As if measuring were full understanding, let alone complete power. But Pope doesn't confine his criticism to scientists. He also has philosophers in his sight: Go, soar with Plato to th' empyreal sphere, To the first good, first perfect, and first fair; Or tread the mazy round his followers trod, And quitting sense call imitating God; He clearly doesn't have a lot of time for Plato's first principles. Neither is he impressed by the contemporary vogue for what we would call Orientalism: As Eastern priests in giddy circles run, And turn their heads to imitate the sun. It's possible that he had in mind the whirling dervishes of Persia, or maybe this is just a caricature of his idea of ‘Eastern priests'. So obviously this is a joke that hasn't aged so well. OK he ends this verse paragraph with a final jab, which restates the idea from the opening couplet in bluntly comic fashion: Go, teach Eternal Wisdom how to rule – Then drop into thyself, and be a fool! It's hard to imagine a more apt image of intellectual presumption than trying to teach Eternal Wisdom a thing or two, but just in case we miss the point, Pope rams it home with relish: Then drop into thyself, and be a fool! And this is another characteristic aspect of Augustan poetry, particularly the satirical kind, that it can be very crude and direct, with a passage of sophisticated argument followed by a line or two where the mask drops and the insult is laid bare. And no, it's not big or clever, but let's face it, sometimes it can be deeply satisfying. One more little detail, which I can't help wondering about: notice how both of these couplets, conveying the same basic idea in very different tones, both hinge on the word ‘thyself': Know then thyself, presume not God to scan; The proper study of mankind is man. Go, teach Eternal Wisdom how to rule – Then drop into thyself, and be a fool! So that word ‘thyself' could be used to refer to various individuals, and knowing Pope, I wouldn't be surprised if he intended all of them at once. Firstly, the phrasing sounds proverbial, in which case each couplet is an injunction to mankind at large. Secondly, it could refer to the reader, any reader, of the poem, whether Viscount Bolingbroke, an 18th-century wit, or you and me, reading the poem together on this podcast. It could also refer to the specific targets of Pope's criticism, such as the overreaching scientists or philosophers. I think Pope may also have had in mind a target nearer to home: himself. W. B. Yeats wrote in one of his essays, ‘We make out of the quarrel with others, rhetoric, but of the quarrel with ourselves, poetry'. And it's entirely possible that Pope is doing both at once: we've seen the brilliance of his rhetoric, in puncturing the pretensions of his fellow men and women. Yet by making poetry as well as rhetoric, he is arguably arguing with himself as well. It was of course be entirely right and proper and expected for a Christian such as Pope to admonish himself as well as others, for the many and various sins he describes in An Essay on Man. So from a moral viewpoint, I think I'm on pretty safe ground in suggesting that ‘thyself' includes Pope. But I would go further, and say that the idea of a brilliant mind that is not quite brilliant enough to fully understand itself may have been a deeply personal subject for Pope. Because what we have here is an extremely clever warning about taking cleverness to extremes. Maybe the irony was not lost on Pope. As he wrote in another poem, An Essay on Criticism, ‘A little learning is a dangerous thing'. So perhaps as we hear this passage again, and enjoy the sparkling wit and scurrilous attacks on others, we can also detect a note of self-reflection, and self-accusation, that makes it a little more poignant than it first appears. From An Essay on Man Epistle II By Alexander Pope Know then thyself, presume not God to scan; The proper study of mankind is man.Placed on this isthmus of a middle state,A being darkly wise, and rudely great:With too much knowledge for the sceptic side,With too much weakness for the stoic's pride,He hangs between; in doubt to act, or rest;In doubt to deem himself a god, or beast; In doubt his mind or body to prefer;Born but to die, and reasoning but to err;Alike in ignorance, his reason such,Whether he thinks too little, or too much:Chaos of thought and passion, all confused;Still by himself abused, or disabused;Created half to rise, and half to fall;Great lord of all things, yet a prey to all;Sole judge of truth, in endless error hurled:The glory, jest, and riddle of the world! Alexander Pope Alexander Pope was an English poet and translator who was born in 1688 and died in 1744. As a Catholic he was barred from university and public office, so he educated himself and forged a brilliant literary career, becoming the leading poet of Augustan England, celebrated for his razor-sharp satire and polished heroic couplets. Early success came with An Essay on Criticism and The Rape of the Lock, followed by monumental translations of Homer that made him financially independent. His later works, including The Dunciad, attacked dullness and corruption. In An Essay on Man, he explored human nature, providence, and moral order with epigrammatic clarity. He lived at Twickenham, where he created a famous garden and grotto. Interview with Maura Kolb, President of Dryden Gold Corp. Our previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/dryden-gold-tsxvdry-fully-funded-2026-drilling-for-high-grade-gold-hits-with-partner-validation-8545Recording date: 11th February 2026Dryden Gold Corp. has emerged as a compelling exploration opportunity in northwestern Ontario's Dryden greenstone belt, where the company controls 70,000 hectares of highly prospective ground exhibiting geological characteristics analogous to Canada's premier gold camps. With $11 million in treasury funding a 32,000-meter drilling program across multiple targets, the company is positioned to deliver sustained news flow throughout 2026-2027 whilst pursuing its stated objective of demonstrating multi-million-ounce potential across a district-scale land position. The investment thesis centers on three key pillars: systematic expansion of the high-grade Gold Rock deposit, aggressive testing of regional discovery targets with distinct geological models, and strategic positioning within an emerging gold district backed by institutional investors. President Maura Kolb brings eight years of direct Red Lake experience, informing structural interpretation at Gold Rock where fold architecture and intersecting faults create high-grade traps identical to the geological model hosting Red Lake's 28 million ounces. Recent drilling validates this targeting approach, with intercepts including 301 g/t gold over 3.9m, 77.9 g/t over 0.5m, and 55 g/t over 3.5m demonstrating robust mineralization across multiple parallel shear zones extending over 20 kilometers of strike length.Beyond Gold Rock, Dryden is advancing two regional targets exhibiting different deposit models that provide diversified discovery potential. Hyndman represents an intrusion-related target where a 4-kilometer-long granodiorite intrusion intersected by regional shearing offers potentially simpler geometry and bulk-tonnage potential compared to Gold Rock's structurally complex veins. The six-hole inaugural drilling program was completed in early 2026, with results expected end-March representing the most immediate catalyst for investors. Sherridon at the southern property boundary exhibits intrusion-related bulk-tonnage characteristics, with initial drilling returning 135 meters at 0.2 g/t gold and geochemistry confirming an intrusive fluid source—rare clarity in Archean-aged systems that provides targeting criteria for vectoring toward higher-grade zones. The presence of three distinct geological models reduces exploration risk whilst offering optionality in development scenarios: high-grade underground potential at Gold Rock, possible open-pit bulk tonnage at Hyndman, and intrusion-related scale at Sherridon. This diversification increases probability of exploration success whilst building toward the multi-million-ounce scale necessary for district recognition and institutional interest.Strategic validation strengthens the investment case, with Centerra Gold holding positions in Dryden and Alamos Gold maintaining a 10% equity stake. These institutional anchors provide technical validation, reduce going-concern risks, and potentially facilitate future development partnerships. The warrant exercises by Delbrook Capital and EuroPac Gold Fund that funded the current program occurred at C$0.30, with the stock subsequently advancing toward C$0.40—suggesting investor confidence in near-term catalysts and exploration potential.Operational advantages distinguish Dryden from peers. Year-round road access eliminates seasonal constraints and helicopter costs, enabling continuous drilling and rapid iteration on geological models. The property sits adjacent to NeXGold's 3-million-ounce resource, validating regional prospectivity and demonstrating economic gold potential. Ontario's jurisdictional stability, transparent permitting, and established infrastructure reduce development risks relative to remote or politically challenged jurisdictions. For investors seeking exposure to district-scale gold discovery in a premier jurisdiction with near-term catalysts, experienced management, and institutional backing, Dryden Gold offers a compelling risk-reward profile at approximately C$100 million market capitalization. The company's capital-efficient approach—demonstrating deposit footprints before committing to resource definition—prioritizes discovery value creation whilst maintaining 18-24 months of funded exploration runway. As drilling progresses across multiple high-priority targets throughout 2026, investors can anticipate sustained news flow and multiple opportunities for value inflection.View Dryden Gold's company profile: Sign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com
In 1668, John Dryden became England's very first Poet Laureate. But he had a rival. No, not just a rival. A nemesis. This man's name was Thomas Shadwell, and I can't overstate how much Dryden hated him. The post 492 – The War for Perception first appeared on The British History Podcast.
Maura Kolb, President, of Dryden Gold Corp (TSX.V: DRY) (OTCQB: DRYGF), joins me for an exclusive video update recapping the recent exploration results from early 2026, key takeaways from the prior 2025 exploration program, and the larger fully-funded 2026 work program at the 3 regional areas: Gold Rock Camp, Sherridon, and Hyndman across their Dryden Gold District, in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. We also review the constructive signal seen when a few key stakeholders topped their company investments in recent capital raises and through the exercising of warrants. Maura provides a brief overview of the larger district-scale land page and the exploration potential at each of the 3 key regional areas of focus. We start off reviewing some the key targets drilled in last season's 15,000 meter program along both the Big Master and Elora Gold trends at the Gold Rock Camp, incorporating the data sets from the D1, D2, and new understanding of the D3 structural faulting trends. Maura then highlights the prior drill results from around the Elora-Jubilee Target, Pearl Target, and Laurentian Mine Target; mostly on the hanging wall side of the main trends in multiple parallel trends. On February 4, 2026 Dryden announced new drill results which tested the Pearl zone in the Gold Rock Target Area. Results show continued expansion of the mineralization at Gold Rock with the discovery of two new footwall zones parallel to the main Elora shear structure at Pearl. This is the first significant mineralization discovered in the footwall of the Elora Shear at Pearl establishing another high-grade exploration target at Gold Rock. Further interpretation of existing data and this new drilling has revealed a second high-grade pod on the main Elora shear zone. The highlighted intercepts are near surface from 15 to 70 meters vertical depth. Highlights of the recent 2026 drilling at the Pearl target: Hole DGR-032 returned 6.4 g/t gold over 3.30 meters including 15.10 g/t gold over 1.00 meters in new high-grade footwall zone at Pearl Hole DGR-031 returned 77.90 g/t gold over 0.50 meters in a second footwall zone at Pearl Hole DGR-032 returned 1.61 g/t gold over 16.40 meters including 6.81 g/t gold over 2.50 meters in the Elora shear at Pearl We discuss the significance of the broader bulk tonnage mineralization that is then being upgraded by the multiple high-grade intercepts along the hanging wall and foot wall trends, and why it is encouraging to keep seeing both types of mineralization for the overall continuity of the deposit. Next we reviewed the results released on January 20th from the next 3 holes drilled at Sherridon regional area; which compliment the data collected from the first 3 drill holes put in later last year. This included a broad interval of near surface gold mineralization in hole DSH-004 which returned 1.10 g/t gold over 15.50 metres, including 0.50 metres grading 25.20 g/t gold. Testing to date has focused on only a small portion of the 5km trend, leaving the Sherridon area open in all directions. Additional drill targets for this year will be designed based on analyzing results from the first 6 drill holes in tandem with geological interpretations from soil sample geochemistry, mapping, surveys, and re-logging of historic core. Then we shifted over the Hyndman area, as a 3rd area of focus for this year's program. Maura outlines that the first 6 holes were just drilled, following up on the detailed mapping from 2024, overlaid with the data from the 2025 channel sampling program along existing outcrop exposures. Maura outlines where these first 6 drill holes were just completed at Hyndman on the map, and that assays are anticipated to be returned back from the lab in about a month. We wrap things up with outlining the strength of the management team and board of directors, as well as the very strong list of high profile shareholders like Eric Sprott, Rob McEwen, Bob Quartermain, a number of key funds and institutions, and their 2 key strategic shareholders in Centerra Gold and Alamos Gold. The company is fully funded for the 32,000 meter drill program and regional exploration initiatives for the balance of 2026. * If you have any questions for Maura regarding Dryden Gold, then please email them into us at Fleck@kereport.com or Shad@kereport.com. Dryden Pence believes fiscal policy, monetary policy, and industrial policy are all aligning to be “highly stimulative going forward.” He thinks the market will continue to climb and broaden, though the Mag 7 may still lead. He notes that so far earnings have been constructive in 4Q. The nomination of Kevin Warsh to Fed Chair puts another adult in the room, Dryden says. His picks right now include Microsoft (MSFT), Amazon (AMZN), and GE Aerospace (GE). ======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Options involve risks and are not suitable for all investors. Send us a textThink you can camp anywhere for free on Ontario's Crown land? We dig into the real rules, the best regions, and the prep that turns a risky guess into a confident adventure. After a quick year-five milestone shoutout, we map out what Crown land actually is, why so much of it sits north of the French River, and how local restrictions shape where you can pitch a tent, light a fire, and stay legally. We walk through the Crown Land Use Policy Atlas and the 21-day rule, including the must-move 100 metres requirement. Then we tour standout regions with very different vibes: Temagami's classic canoe routes and remote islands, Algoma's quieter lakes and fewer crowds, Killarney-adjacent granite shores like Philip Edward Island when reservations vanish, cottage-country pockets near Bancroft that demand careful boundary checks, and the wild northwestern stretch around Dryden and Vermilion Bay where water access and fly-ins raise the stakes. Along the way, we call out the no-services reality—no toilets, no bins, often no cell service—and what that means for wag bags, food storage, navigation skills, and first aid readiness. This conversation is for campers who crave solitude and can handle self-reliance. We're honest about who should embrace Crown land now—experienced paddlers, anglers, and backcountry travellers—and who should build skills in managed parks first. Strong earnings and expected stimulus set to hit the U.S. are two key factors behind Dryden Pence's bullish expectations for 2026. He adds that fundamentals and a broadening SPX make him "constructive across the board" for the new year. While the job market is figuring out how to manage AI impact, Dryden says companies will take an "AI + H" approach by using the evolving tech and new human hires. ======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Subscribe to the Market Minute newsletter - https://schwabnetwork.com/subscribeDownload the iOS app - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/schwab-network/id1460719185Download the Amazon Fire Tv App - https://www.amazon.com/TD-Ameritrade-Network/dp/B07KRD76C7Watch on Sling - https://watch.sling.com/1/asset/191928615bd8d47686f94682aefaa007/watchWatch on Vizio - https://www.vizio.com/en/watchfreeplus-exploreWatch on DistroTV - https://www.distro.tv/live/schwab-network/Follow us on X – / schwabnetwork Follow us on Facebook – / schwabnetwork Follow us on LinkedIn - / schwab-network About Schwab Network - https://schwabnetwork.com/about

On December 18, 1679, England's leading poet, John Dryden, was attacked and beaten in a dark Covent Garden alley outside the Lamb, the area's oldest pub. The motive was literary. Dryden was wrongly suspected of having written An Essay on Satire, a venomous anonymous poem that skewered the corruption of the Restoration court and appeared to take aim at the Earl of Rochester. The real author was an aristocrat safely protected by rank, but Dryden, a professional writer, paid the price. This piece revisits a story previously told on the London Walks podcast, but from a new angle, exploring how satire worked in Restoration London, why certain lines were dangerous enough to provoke violence, and how words once carried consequences measured in bruises and broken skin.
[Webinar Replay from December 4th, 2025] Trey Wasser, CEO, and Maura Kolb, President, of Dryden Gold Corp (TSX.V: DRY) (OTCQB: DRYGF), join us for an exclusive Webinar recapping the key takeaways from the 2025 exploration program in this comprehensive visual update with management. We touch upon all the various work programs that were completed this year at the 3 regional areas: Gold Rock Camp, Sherridon, and Hyndman across their Dryden Gold District, in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. We kick things off with Trey outlining the strength of the management team and board of directors, as well as the very strong list of high profile shareholders like Eric Sprott, Rob McEwen, Bob Quartermain, a number of key funds and institutions, and their 2 key strategic shareholders in Centerra Gold and Alamos Gold. Next Maura dove into an expanded review of some the key targets drilled this season's 15,000 meter program along both the Big Master and Elora Gold trends at the Gold Rock Camp, incorporating the data sets from the D1, D2, and new understanding of the D3 structural faulting trends. Maura highlights the drill results from around the Elora-Jubilee Target, Pearl Target, and Laurentian Mine Target, and the recent results at the drilling done testing the gap areas between those targets. We also discuss the significance of the broader bulk tonnage mineralization that is then being upgraded by the multiple high-grade intercepts along the hanging wall and foot wall trends. We then shifted up to the initial drilling done this year at the Mud Lake target area, and how these same 3 geological deformation faults and folds are present here as well, further northeast along the Gold Rock Camp trend. There are 4 drill holes here awaiting assays to come back from the lab in the near-term. Maura highlights that there is a periodicity to this larger system along the 20kms of strike length, which demonstrate similar geological properties to the Elora Gold Shear Zone, and they'll be following up to exploration work and targeting on more areas of interest in the year to come. Pivoting out to the regional targets, we discussed the 3rd area of focus from this year's program at Hyndman, following up on the detailed mapping from 2024, and the channel sampling program along existing outcrop exposures. Maura outlines where the first drill holes will be drilled at Hyndman in the 2026 season. Next we reviewed the first 3 drill holes put in at the Sherridon regional area, which is hosted within a large geophysical anomaly with a strike length of five kilometers. Testing to date has focused on a small portion of that trend leaving the Sherridon target open in all directions. Additional drill targets for next year will be designed based on this seasons drill results and geological interpretations from expanded mineral assays, geochemistry and re-logging of historic core. Wrapping up Trey discussed the financial health of the company and that when the strong cash position of the company is combined with the recent exercise of in-the-money warrants, that the company is fully funded for exploration initiatives heading into 2026. If you have any questions for Trey or Maura regarding Dryden Gold, then please email them into us at Fleck@kereport.com or Shad@kereport.com. Ever since her triumphant debut in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, the Wife of Bath, arguably the first ordinary and recognisably real woman in English literature, has obsessed readers--from Shakespeare to James Joyce, Voltaire to Pasolini, Dryden to Zadie Smith. Few literary characters have led such colourful lives or matched her influence or capacity for reinvention in poetry, drama, fiction, and film. In The Wife of Bath: A Biography (Princeton UP, 2023), Marion Turner tells the fascinating story of where Chaucer's favourite character came from, how she related to real medieval women, and where her many travels have taken her since the fourteenth century, from Falstaff and Molly Bloom to #MeToo and Black Lives Matter. A sexually active and funny working woman, the Wife of Bath, also known as Alison, talks explicitly about sexual pleasure. She is also a victim of domestic abuse who tells a story of rape and redemption. Formed from misogynist sources, she plays with stereotypes. Turner sets Alison's fictional story alongside the lives of real medieval women--from a maid who travelled around Europe, abandoned her employer, and forged a new career in Rome to a duchess who married her fourth husband, a teenager, when she was sixty-five. Turner also tells the incredible story of Alison's post-medieval life, from seventeenth-century ballads and Polish communist pop art to her reclamation by postcolonial Black British women writers. Entertaining and enlightening, funny and provocative, The Wife of Bath is a one-of-a-kind history of a literary and feminist icon who continues to capture the imagination of readers. Interview with Trey Wasser, CEO of Dryden Gold Corp. Our previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/dryden-gold-tsxvdry-centerra-backed-explorer-targets-district-scale-gold-in-ontario-8109Recording date: 17th November 2025Dryden Gold Corp (TSXV: DRY) has emerged as a compelling strategic acquisition target in Ontario's gold sector following successful execution of its 2025 exploration program and explicit endorsement from major mining company partners. The company controls 70,000 hectares in northwest Ontario hosting multiple high-grade gold discoveries across four distinct mineralization types, with fully funded drilling planned for 2026 under management explicitly targeting a Great Bear Resources-style exit. The investment thesis centers on systematic district-scale exploration designed to attract strategic buyers rather than pursue standalone mine development. Recent drilling fundamentally reshaped the geological understanding at the Gold Rock target area, revealing nine interconnected high-grade structures within a 300-meter span—including intercepts of 300 grams per ton over 3.9 meters and 55 grams per ton over 3.5 meters—connected by continuous one gram per ton mineralization. This discovery transformed what appeared to be isolated veins into an integrated system where lower-grade material provides economic continuity while high-grade shoots create exploration upside.Strategic validation provides perhaps the most compelling near-term catalyst. Centerra Gold invested in 2024 and has explicitly directed management to continue district-scale exploration rather than focus exclusively on infill drilling at known high-grade zones. Alamos Gold maintains similar engagement, while additional confidentiality agreements with unnamed major and mid-tier mining companies indicate active corporate interest. These sophisticated mining companies endorse the systematic approach because it generates the comprehensive geological understanding and high-quality data they require for acquisition decisions. The technical team significantly de-risks execution. President Maura Kolb led the Red Lake mine exploration team for five years, managing 90 personnel and a $50 million annual budget while reducing finding costs from $500 to $50 per ounce. Her major-mine experience directly informs Dryden's exploration protocols including oriented core drilling, 100% core assaying, and property-wide geochemical surveys—practices that distinguish systematic explorers from promotion-focused juniors. Kolb's team discovered the hanging wall structures specifically because they assayed all rock types rather than only visible quartz veins. The property's geological diversity creates multiple value pathways. Beyond the Archean lode gold system at Gold Rock—which Kolb compares directly to Red Lake geology—the company has confirmed intrusive-related mineralization at Sherridon, granite diorite-hosted stockwork at Hyndman analogous to NexGold's 1.5-million-ounce Goliath Gold project, and VMS-style mineralization elsewhere. CEO Trey Wasser characterizes this as a "Timmins-like camp" where exceptional gold endowment manifests across multiple geological settings, creating optionality for project-specific joint ventures or staged transactions.Infrastructure advantages reduce development risk and enhance acquisition appeal. Highway 502 provides direct access from Sherridon through Gold Rock to the town of Dryden, while the Trans-Canada Highway accesses Hyndman. Both regional projects have been clear-cut for logging, creating existing access roads. The northwest Ontario location provides political stability, established mining regulations, available contractors and skilled labor, and proximity to operating mines including Red Lake—attributes that command premium valuations as mining companies reassess exposure to jurisdictions with increasing political risk.Dryden enters 2026 fully funded from August 2025 financing to complete 20,000-25,000 meters of drilling, with approximately 50% dedicated to Gold Rock expansion and the remainder advancing multiple district targets. At $4,000 gold, the company offers leveraged exposure to exploration success, strategic transaction, or both, backed by partner validation and systematic technical approach designed specifically for strategic buyer requirements.View Dryden Gold's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/dryden-goldSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

Dryden Pence believes there will be one or two more "insurance cuts" from the FOMC before the end of 2025 — something he sees adding power to the A.I. trade. He believes investors can buy A.I. chipmakers on dips due to their longevity. Dryden is a long-time fan of Broadcom (AVGO) due to its dominance in custom chip creation. He adds that TSMC (TSM) serves as a critical "chokepoint" to Nvidia (NVDA), while ASML Holding (ASML) acts as a chokepoint to TSMC.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day. Interview with Maura Kolb, President of Dryden Gold Our previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/dryden-gold-tsxvdry-58m-drill-campaign-funded-by-strategic-investment-6644Recording date: 23rd September 2025Dryden Gold Corporation has emerged as a compelling exploration opportunity in northwestern Ontario's proven mining district, combining institutional validation with operational excellence to develop what appears to be a significant district-scale gold system. The company's methodical approach has attracted strategic investment from Centerra Gold, which maintains a 9.9% ownership position and provides crucial third-party validation of the exploration thesis.Under President Maura Kolb's leadership, Dryden Gold has achieved remarkable operational efficiency with industry-leading drilling costs at $200 CAD all-in, significantly below peer averages. This cost advantage stems from strategic partnerships with Winnipeg-based contractors and local expertise development, supporting the company's growth to 10 employees with dedicated core facilities across their 70,000-hectare land package. The flagship Gold Rock target exemplifies the company's systematic geological approach, evolving from three initial structures to dozens of high-grade intersection targets within a concentrated 1km x 1km footprint. This evolution has fundamentally changed mining scenarios from underground-only to potential open-pit development through the identification of stacked structures and multiple deformation events.Regional exploration has revealed an 8km strike length pattern comparable to Red Lake's 28 million ounce endowment, with newly identified targets at Mud Lake showing similar mineralization to Gold Rock. Recent drilling at these regional targets suggests the emergence of a true district-scale opportunity rather than isolated deposits.Financially, Dryden Gold maintains strong liquidity with a recent $7.8 million raise funding 20-25,000 meters of additional drilling, while $11.5 million in warrants at $0.30 now in-the-money provide potential non-dilutive financing. Approximately two-thirds of results from recent drilling campaigns remain unreported, creating multiple near-term catalysts. The company explicitly targets eventual merger and acquisition activity, with Kolb stating: "The endgame is M&A. So we're shopping for our future buyout really with these major companies." This strategic positioning, combined with institutional backing and expanding resource potential, creates compelling risk-adjusted exposure to both organic growth and consolidation opportunities in the strengthening gold sector.Learn more: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/dryden-goldSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

City council and building permits, are difficult subjects. Many people who own land will tell you of the government seemingly sticking their nose where it doesnt belong. But like it or not, rules and regulations exist for reasons. However, at what point does it become targeted and at what point are someones actions, going to far? Lets discuss that in todays episode Thank you for watching Roanoke Tales and I hope you enjoy learning about The Albert Dryden Documentary | The Planning Dispute Murder Of Harry Collinson Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/RoanokeTalesPatreon Merch: Roanokemerch.com #truecrimecommunity #truecrimestories #mystery
King Arthur stands astride the intersection of history, myth, legend, and politics. In every age of the history of Britain, he is reinterpreted for new audiences and new purposes. When composer Henry Purcell and poet-librettist John Dryden set out to write their opera about Arthur, they did so following a century in which England had seen monarchs rise, fall, be beheaded, exiled, returned in triumph, and driven out in disgrace. King Arthur takes place not in Camelot, but in a world of clashing cultures and ideals. Arthur finds his Britons beset by Saxon invaders, but after his victory, he is able to lead as both peoples transition from fighting one another, to become a stronger people together. Join us for a close look at this fascinating work or art, and enjoy (in English, of course!) Dryden's poetry and Purcell's rich and tuneful music. Hosted by Pat with guest co-host Gerald Malone. Gerald Malone's website, TheRestIsOpera.com is brimming with commentary on opera productions that he has seen around the world, and “scuttlebutt” about opera from a suspiciously well-informed little dog. Gerald Malone is also the Opera Critic of ReactionLife, a UK-based online current affairs and cultural publication.

This episode features a rambling reflection that Mark recorded on part of an unexpected and unplanned four-day road trip from Calgary, Alberta to Waterloo, Ontario. When Mark was in Calgary, Alberta for the When Words Collide conference, Air Canada went on strike and all flights were canceled. Finding himself unable to get home (without having to pay for 4 nights in a hotel plus a flight on an alternate airline that would have cost him $1500), Mark decided to rent a car and drive back home nearly 3,500 kilometers (2174 miles) during the week of Monday August 18th through Friday August 22nd. Instead of being frustrated over the predicament, Mark chose to see this as an amazing opportunity to see parts of the country he hadn't yet visited. This episode is a rambling reflection from the road that he recorded on the morning of Wednesday October 20th on the highway between Dryden, ON and Thunder Bay, ON. We left off in the ill-fated Dryden, NY with two high school cheerleaders missing and a town in mourning for years of tragedy under its belt. In the second half of this series on the “Village of the Damned,” we'll go over the hunt for a murderer and the unfortunate string of deaths that followed. How did this decade of terror come to a conclusion? The end would be more bitter than sweet. "Strange and Unexplained" is a podcast from Grab Bag Collab & Three Goose Entertainment and is a journey into the uncomfortable and the unknowable that will leave you both laughing and sleeping with the lights on. Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTHIt's a lawless time, y'all. Organized crime syndicates are running a muck since the fall of the Galactic Republic, forcing others to fight for survival. On the industrial ship-building planet Corellia, Lady Proxima, leader of the White Worms gang, is after a hyperfuel known as coaxium. That's when we meet Han. He is trying to escape Corellia for good. He feels confident he can do that after getting his hands on some coaxium. His girlfriend Qi'ra is pumped. But as they go to escape, they are found by some of Proxima's baddies and are taken to her. He's like oh I don't have an coaxium, but what i do have is THIS! He pulls out a rock and throws it through a window which lets in light which Proximia and her species are allergic to and they escape! But it does take long for them to catch up with him and a chase ensues. They bribe an Imperial officer at a spaceport for passage off-world. Han makes it through, but Qi'ra is captured at the last moment. Separated by a security gate, Han promises to return for her.Alone and desperate, Han enlists in the Imperial Navy. When asked for his surname, he's called “Solo” since he claims to have no family. Fast forward three years, Han has been expelled from flight school for acting a fool and is now down in the mud of a battle. There, he encounters a group of thieves disguised as soldiers—Tobias Beckett, Val, and Rio. When Han tries to blackmail his way into their crew, Beckett has him arrested and thrown into a pit with a deadly creature: a Wookiee named Chewbacca.Han and Chewbacca form a quick alliance, escaping together and convincing Beckett to take them in. Realizing Chewbacca's brute strength is valuable, Beckett agrees. The crew sets off for their next job—stealing coaxium from a moving train. The heist goes sideways when they're ambushed by a gang of pirates. Rio is fatally shot, Val sacrifices herself, and the coaxium is lost in the chaos.Beckett reveals they were working for Dryden Vos, a high-ranking figure in the Crimson Dawn crime syndicate, and now owe him. To make amends, Han and Chewbacca offer to help steal unrefined coaxium from the mines on Kessel. Beckett agrees and takes them to Dryden's luxurious yacht, where Han reunites with Qi'ra—now a high-ranking lieutenant.Vos approves the plan but insists Qi'ra accompany them. She leads them to the suave smuggler Lando Calrissian, hoping to use his ship, the Millennium Falcon. Han loses a rigged card game to Lando but convinces him to join the mission in exchange for a cut. With Lando's droid co-pilot L3-37 onboard, the team sets off.On Kessel, L3 sparks a riot among droid slaves, while Chewbacca breaks off to free Wookiee prisoners. The team escapes with the coaxium, but L3 is destroyed and Lando is injured. Using L3's navigational system, Han pilots the Falcon. Han hatches a plan to outsmart Dryden Vos. It's a classic double cross station. When they meet again, Dryden exposes Beckett as his informant. But Han had anticipated the betrayal—the coaxium given to Vos is real, and the fake decoy was a bluff.Beckett takes Chewbacca and the coaxium hostage, but Han later confronts and shoots him before he can retaliate. Meanwhile, Qi'ra kills Dryden Vos but secretly contacts her true boss: Darth Maul. She takes Vos's ship and leaves, choosing to embrace her role.Han tracks down Lando and challenges him to a rematch in cards. This time, Han wins, gaining ownership of the Millennium Falcon. With Chewbacca by his side, Han sets off for Tatooine, following a tip about a powerful gangster—Jabba the Hutt—looking for smugglers for a big job.
Dryden, New York is your typical, small town nestled among forestry, ponds and plains. But in the 1990s, that peace was disrupted by a string of events so tragic it was hard not to suspect a site-specific curse. Dryden would come to be known for a time as the “Village of the Damned,” and in Part 1 of this series we'll trace the first half of this ominous decade there.
