Our new guest is @cosmonection Behind the spatial pseudonym of the Parisian producer Adrien Erra hides an overflowing energy and a two-faceted music, rhythmic and aerial, and as well influenced by the house of Detroit as by balearic house inspirations of Ibiza. In 2016, he participated in the creation of the label Pont Neuf Records on which he signed three first tracks. His first two EPs 10 Feet Before The Horizon on Pont Neuf and Menorca on Jimpster's imprint Delusions of Grandeur go out in 2018 and mark the beginning of a long series of release, with no less than 5 new EPs in 2 years: Odyssey and Talamanca on Pont Neuf, Venezia and Despair Roads on the Australian label Beats Of No Nation but also Mist in collaboration with the producer Tour-Maubourg on STRCTR. The Parisian producer displays a sound universe always more complex and mature, and attracts many eyes on him, so much so that Mixmag describes him as ‘‘one of the fast-rising producers of the moment''. His first album Hidden Places is set to be released on May 13th, 2022 on Pont Neuf and with it a turning point in the still young career of Cosmonection. The Bside of... Beats Of No Nation Well, this week has been fun. During a marathon 10 hour take over on EHFM yesterday we had the chance to re-broadcast some of favourite episodes, reflect and reminisce on the about the adventure that it has been, with one eye on the road ahead we took the chance to premiere today's episode on the airwaves, it's already a favourite of ours and it looks like our new record label based series is shaping up nicely! So today we bring you the second instalment in our ‘The Bside of…' series, a guided tour around our favourite record labels. Showing us the ropes this week is Dom Bird and Jad & The, picking out their favourites exclusively from ‘The Bside of… Beats Of No Nation' [BONN]. Following on from the first episode with one of the UK's hottest record labels (Rhythm Section), we're now going down under to proudly present you one of Australia's finest. BONN, at its inception was a weekly radio affair, a showcase of local talent on Brisbane's 4ZZZ. As the project grew the collective became recognised as trend setters in the scene, having established their own record label they themselves became the platform for curation and promotion of talent, now attracting amazing artists from across the world. With releases on Toy Tonics, 2mr and Axe On Wax all doing the damage and his own Beats Of No Nation label also doing the damn thing, he’s made a serious mark on our minds this year. His mix closes with his breakbeat-focused remix for our very own Leon Revol, showing that he’s still got a lot more breadth to offer. *How would you describe your sound?* To be honest I'm still yet to discover my true sound. My 40 unfinished Ableton sessions of completely different musical genres will prove this. Maybe one day I'll pinpoint 'my sound' but just now I'm still experimenting and constantly evolving stylistically and musically. *What and who inspires you and influences your sound?* I'm very inspired by old disco, soul, funk, afrobeat, and jazz records. I'm constantly digging trying to discover sample sources or inspiration. I'm very into the art of sampling and hip-hop guys like Marley Marl, Pete Rock, Dilla, Madlib and co. *Can you tell us a little about this mix and what it means to you?* It was a funny experience listening to some records I made three or more years ago.
