Byggnadsvård är hett just nu. När klimatförändringarna blir allt kännbarare är byggnadsvårdens experter mer efterfrågade än någonsin. De har i decennier arbetat med med återbruk, bevarande och hållbarhet, frågor som även stod i centrum på Byggnadsvårdens konvent i Mariestad nyligen. Lyssna på alla avsnitt i Sveriges Radio Play. Häromveckan samlades över femhundra murare och kulturmålare och trädgårdsantikvarier och kommunfolk och arkitekter för ett tre dagar långt samtal på Byggnadsvårdens konvent i Mariestad. Valet av plats är ingen slump. Staden är ett centrum för byggnadsvården i Sverige. Här pågår både praktiska utbildningar, som fönsterrenovering på gammalt sätt, på kommunala utbildningsplattformen Dacapo Mariestad och forskning inom kulturvård i samarbete med Göteborgs universitet och det så kallade ”Hantverkslaboratoriet” – som driver projekt inom bygghantverk, kulturlandskap och trädgård.P1 Kulturs reporter Nina Asarnoj talade bland annat med den vikarierande Riksantikvarien Susanne Thedéen, Denny Mattson, elev på den nystartade stråtaktäckar-utbildningen på Da Capo, Torun Hammar, arkitekt, Julia Göransson på Västmanlands länsmuseum, Niclas Fredriksson, Årets byggnadsvårdare och stiftsantikvarie i Linköpings stift och Stephan Fickler, verksamhetsledare på Svenska byggnadsvårdsföreningen.

Für ihre Mundart-Produktionen «Sgt. Pepper» und «Freddie» wurde das Secondhand Orchestra gefeiert. Nun wagen sich Roman Riklin, Daniel Schaub, Frölein Da Capo und Adrian Stern an die Hits von ABBA. Auch 50 Jahre nach ihrem ESC-Sieg hat die Popgruppe für jede Herzensangelegenheit einen Song bereit. 1974, vor genau 50 Jahren, gewann ABBA mit dem Song «Waterloo» den Eurovision Song Contest. Und selbst heute noch kennt fast jedes Kind die Welthits von ABBA. Mit «LOVE - dem Mundart-ABBA-Tribute» tritt das Secondhand Orchestra nun den Beweis an, dass die schwedische Popgruppe nicht nur zeitlose Popsongs geschrieben, sondern auch für jede Liebessituation den passenden Ohrwurm parat hat; von der ersten Verliebtheit bis zur tränenreichen Trennung. Roman Riklin, Daniel Schaub, Irene Brügger alias Frölein Da Capo und Adrian Stern haben ABBA-Songs herausgepickt, die vom ewigen Lauf der Liebe erzählen, und interpretieren diese jetzt auf Mundart. Zudem bereichert das Quartett das Programm mit eigenen Neukompositionen; inspiriert vom Werk und Leben der vier Musikgrössen aus Schweden und ihren eigenen Herzensangelegenheiten. Radio-Pionier FM François Mürner plaudert auf der Leinwand aus dem Nähkästchen und hält skurrile Anekdoten bereit. Vor sieben Jahren hat sich das Secondhand Orchestra formiert und mit seinen beiden Programmen «Sgt. Pepper» und «Freddie» bereits gezeigt, dass sich Evergreens von den «Beatles» und von «Queen» bestens für ein Konzert auf Schweizerdeutsche eignen. Nun sollen also die unsterblichen Hits von ABBA neu erlebt und wirklich verstanden werden; dank der Übersetzungen, die dem Publikum die Inhalte hautnah bringen. «Kulturplatz» war beim allerersten Bühnendurchlauf des multimedialen Gesamtkunstwerks dabei und hat ausserdem alle fünf Mitwirkenden privat besucht. Bis 20. Oktober spielt das Secondhand Orchestra im Theater Am Hechtplatz. Danach geht es auf Tour durch die Schweiz.

Today on the program, we present the story behind the Father of Soul, Sam Cooke. Growing up in the church, Sam knew he wanted to be a singer by the time he was five years old. There was a magnetic and infectious quality to this young Gospel singer, and he knew he was destined for bigger things than singing sacred music. The risk he took in becoming a pop singer was massive, but it produced the first records of what is now known as Soul music. Sam also was a pioneer when it came to being savvy about the music business, owning his own publishing company, negotiating contracts, and creating a container to nurture up and coming soul singers. At the height of the civil rights movement, and the pinnacle of his career, Sam's life was cut short. Negli ultimi giorni si è parlato molto sui media e sui social network della recente proposta della multinazionale farmaceutica e cosmetica Johnson&Johnson di chiudere - con un pagamento di circa 6,5 miliardi di dollari - buona parte delle migliaia di cause avviate negli Stati Uniti da persone che ritengono di aver sviluppato tumori in seguito all'uso del talco prodotto dall'azienda. Si è parlato di contaminazioni di amianto e c'è stato qualche titolo allarmistico su una delle polveri più usate in ambito cosmetico, generando non poca confusione e qualche comprensibile preoccupazione. Vediamo come è iniziato tutto, perché da anni si parla del talco di Johnson&Johnson e soprattutto se ci sono effettivamente rischi e di che tipo nel respirare le nuvole di talco. Ci occupiamo poi dei problemi mesozoici del ministro dell'Istruzione e di piombo nei capelli di Beethoven. Die eine mit allen erdenklichen Instrumenten, die andere mit geballtem Wissen über die menschliche Psyche: Irene Brügger alias «Frölein Da Capo» und Felizitas Ambauen, Psycho- und Paartherapeutin. Felizitas Ambauen (42) Wenn der Haussegen schief hängt, weiss sie, was zu tun ist: Felizitas Ambauen. Sie ist die bekannteste Psycho- und Paartherapeutin der Schweiz und eine äusserst erfolgreiche Podcasterin dazu. Als Kind spielte sie sonntags in ihrem Dorf jeweils die Orgel, später wollte sie Gesang studieren und auf der Bühne stehen. Dort ist sie inzwischen auch angekommen, aber nicht als Musikerin, sondern zusammen mit ihrer Kollegin Sabine Meyer, wo sie - ganz Psychologin - über all das sprechen, was irgendwie im Kosmos menschlicher Beziehungen stattfindet. Irene Brügger (44) Schon 17 Jahre ist sie musikalisch und kabarettistisch unterwegs als «Frölein Da Capo». Angefangen hat damals alles auf dem sozialen Netzwerk «MySpace» wo Irene Brügger nach gerade mal zwei hochgeladenen Songs schon für einen Solo-Gig gebucht wurde. Drei Jahre später, 2010, fragte sie dann Viktor Giacobbo als Sidekick in seiner Satireshow Giacobbo/Müller an. Inzwischen ist die zweifache Mutter als «Ein-Frau-Orchester» unterwegs und startet im Herbst mit einer neuen Mundartshow, zu Ehren der schwedischen Popgruppe ABBA. Irene Brügger und Felizitas Ambauen sind zu Gast bei Olivia Röllin im Kleintheater Luzern. Türöffnung ist um 9 Uhr. Der Eintritt ist frei.

This week Sarah talks with editor, creative director and co-writer of Taschen's Library of Esoterica books, Jess Hundley. Jess shares her plan for creating the as of today four encyclopedic books, Tarot, Astrology, Witchcraft and Plant Magick, and the important part the Philosophical Research Society played in finding materials for the books. About Jess Hundley Jessica Hundley is a Creative Director, Writer & Producer specializing in music, film, counterculture, magick and psychedelia.As an author and editor, Hundley is currently engaged on projects for book publishers Abrams, Phaidon and Rizzoli. Hundley is also creator, author and Series Editor for Taschen Publications multivolume collection, The Library of Esoterica, a book series exploring the visual history of Tarot, Astrology and other esoteric traditions.Recent projects as a Creative Director include overseeing staging, visuals and overall concepting for John Legend's 2021 Bigger Love Tour and Legend's 2022-23 Las Vegas residency. Hundley continues to work collaboratively with John Legend and his team as a Creative Director and Producer, overseeing the recent launch of Legend's LOVED01 skincare line, as well as album art, limited edition book and album packaging and commercial projects. Hundley also served as co-creative director alongside Darren Romanelli on the DomeRX an immersive art experience at the 2022 FORMAT Festival. Other recent copywriting and creative directing work includes drink brand GHIA and an expansive campaign for Corona/Mexico alongside the team at CAA/Observatory.As an author, Hundley has published over a dozen books in the last decade, an acclaimed biography on country rock icon Gram Parsons for DaCapo, a book on music and meditation with the director David Lynch, and an overview of photographs from longtime Michael Jackson photographer Todd Gray and extensive overview of the photography of Dennis Hopper from Taschen Publications.
